My mission is almost always the same: head straight for the pastries. The chocolate éclairs are my absolute weakness. They're the kind of dessert that makes you think, "I'll just have one," and then immediately start wondering if buying a second one would really be that unreasonable. They're perfectly light, filled with delicious cream, and topped with just the right amount of chocolate. In other words, they're dangerous--in the best possible way. Over the years I've sampled a variety of their other pastries, and they've all been consistently fresh and delicious. It's one of those rare bakeries where it's genuinely hard to make a bad choice. I usually leave with more than I planned because everything behind the glass seems to whisper, "You deserve this." Now, here's the funny part: despite being a regular customer for years, I still haven't actually eaten in the restaurant. At this point, it's almost become a running joke. I walk in with every intention of trying a meal, then the pastry case catches my eye and completely derails my plans. So while I can't personally review the restaurant, I can say this: if they put the same care and quality into their food that they do their bakery, I have to believe it's excellent. If you have a sweet tooth--or even if you don't think you do--do yourself a favor and stop by the bakery. Just don't blame me if you walk out with a box that's mysteriously heavier than you intended. The burger patty had a mild gamey flavor which I think is due to the cow being grass-fed (correct me if I'm wrong). Staff were also very friendly. The owner himself came out to talk to us. The restaurant is located in a quaint, picturesque town. We enjoyed walking around to see the other shops afterward. The parking lot was small but we were able to find parking. We got there on a Monday around 2PM and waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated.

And the onion rings were pretty boring. I don't think they make them there, I am not sure about that, though. But they had kind of a generic look and feel to them, but the problem was they had zero flavor. Like nobody put salt on them when they took them out of the fryer. That's the first thing you do when you pull something out of a fryer, you season it. The server was nice enough, but they have a thing now where if you ask for water, they want to sell you a bottle of water. I get that things are tough for restaurants, but I almost rather pay a little more for the sandwich and get water, if you know what I mean. I'm no food expert, or running a restaurant expert, these are just my reactions as a local who stops in here fairly regularly. I think if the folks who run this place feel like there's any value to my little thoughts, they would be easy to fix and wouldn't cost anything at all really. I have frequented both the Cambria and Fresno locations, partially due to the consistently decent service and mostly due to the quality and quick food. It doesn't matter if you show up right when they open, or if you arrive when there's a line out the door waiting to place orders, service is always much quicker than you'd expect. Food is decent--whether you get a salad (note-the side or small salad is huge--it fills a full to-go container), fish and chips, a sandwich or burger. Substitutions are usually not an issue, and ranch/bbq sauces are available at no extra charge. I'm generally impressed with how absolutely fresh the lettuce and veggies are for the salads. I really have grown used to spending $10 or more for a much smaller salad at other locations and have grown accustomed to picking out wilted/rotted veggies and lettuce. Not here-everything is cold, crisp and fresh. Meat is seasoned well-- and the fries are plentiful. There is usually plenty of seating, whether inside or on the patio. Parking can be rough along Main Street, but if you're patient, you can usually find something fairly close. It does help that the grill is towards the end of the street. Rest rooms are limited and often running low on supplies. It can be quite a wait during busy times. In all, this is a great place for quick and decent food. It is consistently enjoyable for the whole family. We'll definitely be back whenever we visit.
