I guess I hated Camden Food Co. so much that my review was removed for violating Yelp's Terms of Service. I'd like an explanation for this from Yelp, but in the meantime, here's the short version, as I can't even access the review I wrote. I had a ridiculously bad grab and go sandwich here, a D- even grading on an airport sandwich curve. It was a chicken avocado sandwich, supposedly composed of grilled chicken, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle aioli on whole grain bread. Camden Food Co. must have looked up the absolute minimum amount of avocado they could use and still name the ingredient on the packaging. The sandwich was made up of tasteless slices of chicken, a bit of lettuce and tomato, and not a single solid piece of avocado. The only discernible avocado was a thin green smear on the bread. It just looked like the bread had touched an avocado by accident. I paid $17.41 for this sandwich and resent every wasted penny. I'm a little embarrassed, just as an American, that travelers can get food this terrible at New York's main international airport. read more

Fits the bill for mediocre, overpriced airport food. On a layover at JFK before a flight to Europe, my son and I stopped in for a chicken and avocado sandwich and mushroom, egg white and avocado breakfast burrito. The chicken sandwich was the better choice, as the burrito was quite cold inside (mushrooms should always be eaten hot IMHO). Otherwise, nothing to write home about. Camden Food Co at JFK had a really nice feel to it, the store might have been a tad small (but it is an airport after all being located in Terminal 4 of NY JFK). They did have a nice selection of snacks and a small selection of fresh food but the labelling for allergies on the fresh food could have been better and clearer in my opinion. The staff members seemed a little unhelpful and disinterested - I get working at an airport isn't great but there's still customers to be served, at least with a smile. My advice for Camden food is to keep it simple. The menu looks and sounds nice but the food quality is akin to dunkin donuts or subway. They are good in a pinch and open earlier than most other places in the airport. That last time I went there I got a chicken sandwich with avocado and it was pretty good. My first time I ordered a soup and it sucked. The prices are a bit more than they should be but its an airport so its to be expected. When it comes to airport food, Camden does okay in terms of providing some healthy options with better quality ingredients and more choices. They have a salad bar (pay by the weight,) a sandwich station that is made to order, soups and various pre-made options as well. Their chips and drinks have some more "natural" albeit not totally healthy options. I've tried both the salad bar, which I really enjoyed but got expensive pretty quickly and more recently the caprese panini made fresh.That panini was okay-not terrible not stellar. First time yelping an airport business. Really wanna save people from this place! Also my flight is now delayed so I have plenty of time to share my crummy experience. $13 for a worse version of an egg and cheese from dunkin donuts. Microwave food with no flavor. Both the cashier and food prep person were rude. My first sandwich wasn't heated enough. The bread was toasted but the pre-made egg patty was still cold, so I asked for a refund. The cashier told me she couldn't give me one (and did not provide a reason). She immediately took the bitten-off sandwich to the food prep guy. He attempted to throw it back in the microwave/toaster. I told him he needed to make a new one because the cashier poked around the sandwich when I told her the egg was still cold. The food prep guy told (more like almost yelled at) me that the cashier only touched the paper (that touches the sandwich). Of course, this wasn't true since he didn't see her poking around when I brought it to the register. After more push-back from me, he made another sandwich. It was warmer but had no flavor. I came here a number of times the past week as I am working in JFK airport for the summer. I love the salad bar- you make your own salad with fresh ingredients. Dressings are great quality. The pricing goes by the weight. I believe it is 60 cents per ounce. I only have tried the pesto chicken panini. That one was okay. I wasn't nuts about it. Good quality though. I think I wanted chicken more moist. It was kinda overdone. Bread needs improvement. Overall I like this place. I get fresh and good salad for about $7 (big box).
