Hello, My husband and myself, just bought a New 5th wheel in Anderson, Ca. from Camping World. 4 days into our vacation, we had trouble with the Hydraulics. We took it into the nearest Camping World. Bakersfield, Ca. Thursday before noon. Rodney from Service said, that they could do NOTHING for us. His manager told him, they were to busy to even look at it. We were in no hurry, we would hang out in town if need be. But, they said NO! They couldn't even look at it. It would take to long to get approval!!! They don't make money on Warranty work. Really???? We just spend thousand of dollars on a NEW 5th wheel... So, we cut vacation short. Drove all the way back to Camping World in Anderson, Ca. (stopping many times to bring slides in, that would come out, while driving...) We couldn't even get it off the truck. Been feeling sick that we made a mistake in buying... Hopefully Camping World in Anderson, Ca. comes through. read more

Bought a 2017 Jayflight Jayco Trailer from them and on the 4th time taking it out camping the underbelly fell off about 30 miles from our destination. Contacted Jayco and was told they didn't have a dealership on Central Coast of California to assist me so the I contacted camping world in Bakersfield where I purchased this trailer and basically was told if I couldn't get it back up to cut it off and they then gave me an appointment 2 weeks later. I told them I didn't think I could do anything like that because I had rotator and supraspinatus tendon repair just 2 months prior they basically told me to go hire someone to do it. I returned back to the dealership with trailer and it took them 6 days to repair the underbelly and fix a few items like molding coming loose and missing molding within the trailer etc. I also complained to the dealer that the trailer was cutting into my hitch after dealing with warranty people and them coming up with all excuses that it's not a warranty issue at this point I was getting very frustrated and a mechanic was called in from the back and he identified the problem as 1st safety chains are to short 2nd the eyelets on the trailer are place where if you make a tight turn it will cut the chains. Still waiting to get my rv back. This is my 1st RV and don't know what to expect; but if this was a car dealer I know I could have received better service. I would not recommend Camping world for service and purchase nor would I recommend Jayco quality control is horrible. read more

They do not care about you once they have your money. Customer service is horrible. Oh Yes they make you feel like you are stupid. My Motor home was there for 2 1/2 months and when I was told it was ready I asked if they could wash it so I could see out the window to drive home and they said they could not do that after I spent $80,000. I highly recomend avoiding this Camping World at all costs. We brought our trailer in for some warranty work back in December of 2022 and still do not have an expected completion date. When we dropped our trailer off they had given us a promise date, and reassured us that our trailer repairs would be completed within 2-3 months. Obviously we are well passed that. After months and months of waiting and our service rep telling us that they were waiting on the manufacture to get back them,we got in contact with our manufacture oursleves to find out what was taking so long. Turns out the manufacture had responded requesting additional information months prior to us contacting them and Camping World never got back to them. This has been one of the worst experiences we have ever had to deal with. We recently went to visit our trailer after they contacted us about our trailer being backed into by a camping world employee. We discovered that none of the work they had told us had been had actually been done. They will lie to your face, and are very unprofesssional to deal with both over the phone and in person. They say its hard to keep track of all the maintenance because they have "over 400 units" in for repairs. Seems like maybe they should stop taking in trailers if they cant keep track of the ones they have. read more

If I could give less of a star! Scott Fuson is the most disrespectful, unhelpful & deceitful service writer. Two weeks to diagnose a problem with the jack that raises and lowers the bunk. Only to be told the extended warranty coverage is denied for this part. I argued that the bunk was only lowered and raised 7-8 times and this failure should be covered. Their appointments are months out, you ask if they will cover any warranty after the expiration date and the person making appointments assure you that your paper wrk will be back dated to the the day the appointment was made even though the drop off day is 12 days past your warranty expiration date, and then you get a well they aren't service advisors they don't know any better, they tell you what u want to hear, I give them no stars.. read more

Ordered a hitch on the store side on a Sunday and was told it would be in that Wednesday. We were to wait for their phone call. No one called and we gave them the benefit of the doubt and called the next day to check on our order we were bounced around to 7 different associates with none of them knowing anything about our order. Finally the final associate told us, rudely, that our order was in without asking us our information first. We went to the store to pick it up and the employee could not find our order for a while. When he finally found it, he rudely told the cashier "I think this is what they are looking for" without confirming with us first to make sure it was our order. When we went to pay the cashier was also rude questioning us why we didn't pay before. read more

The checkout folks in the store portion were very helpful and friendly. My two dogs received lots of attention. My husband had a more difficult time st the service desk. He had to go to the camper and take a picture of the bathroom sink drain that was broken in order for the rep to understand. Fortunately what we need is at Lowe's. read more

You really should trust in the yelp reviews. When a business is barely pushing 2.5 stars out of 50 plus reviews you better thing twice before giving them your business. Unless you're a bored attorney looking for a case. I have been a camping world customer for 30 years now. With a few bad experiences and mishaps, the parts manager Arthur, a great guy and a wonderful customer service provider, always made sure that my needs were somehow met, and I'm somewhat satisfied. This time around it was out of his hands since a service technician broke the emergency brake cable on my jeep after 2 weeks of having it in their shop for a minor wiring fix. I tried reasoning with the service manager since they've had two of my vehicles and my camper for over 2 weeks and I was on the verge of spending thousands of dollars on a slide repair, but he absolutely refused to even look at the damage. I'm 51 years old and I've owned over 13 vehicles, 4 of which were jeeps. Not once have I seen an emergency break cable going bad on me. This jeep has only 70 some thousand miles on it and they are telling me that they are not responsible for the damage. Careful who you deal with. Go to someone who cares read more

I called Campingworld today to ask about outdoor camping gear. I received great, friendly service by one of the girls at the front desk. So I decided to stop by and look at the selection. I did see several different outdoor items but not enough for like hiking. I did walk around the store for about 30 minutes. I saw a few employees sitting down texting and not one bothered to ask me if I found what I was looking for. I give this place 3 stars only because of the friendly service of the girls at the front desk. Good selection on RV, camping items, good clean store..... Bad customer service in the store. read more

Service department are incompetent idiots!!!!!! Had a new fifth wheel hitch installed in our truck to pull our new RV and they didn't install it correct nor did they realize they had the wrong parts before they had installed it our truck is a ford and they installed parts for a Chevy dumb idiots!! Now we have to leave our RV and come back up sometime in he next week to get the right hitch we live in Huntington Beach NEVER have service done at Bakersfield camping world stupid stupid stupid incompetent idiots!!!!! I want to add that we have since found out that camping world sold us a defective RV with a prior fuel station recall which we knew nothing about. I got a voice message from Scott at Bakersfield location telling me our part was in and to bring the RV back up for repairs. When I told him we wouldn't be coming back up he said " well then I'll just send the part back and forget about it" I told him what was the recall as we knew nothing about it. He was very rude and unhelpful. We are so disappointed in camping world. I found out it was against the law for them to sell an RV with a pending recall and when I questioned that they still don't seem to care that this is resolved per the customers satisfaction. They need to be held accountable for treating customers such as we have been treated twice now!!! I am waiting a call from corporate office regarding the recall and have requested a full refund for being sold a lemon. 1) Sales department tried to get me to pay $2000 for the delivery inspection when there was a huge banner out front of the business that said, "Free camp-ready package inspection". 2) Finance department added the surface protection package without my consent and then tried to get me to pay $1700 for it. 3) Finance department told me they would email me the pricing of the extended warranties and other add-ons to me, but never sent them despite several unreturned voicemails I left for her. 4) Same finance person then called me a week after the close of the sale, yelling and threatening me because I brought to light her work performance short comings to the dealership management. I have been going to Camping World in Bakersfield since I purchased my RV last year. It is typical to have a lot of warranty issues in the first year and Camping World has made this process very easy. I was assigned an agent the first day I walked in named Edward Anderson. Eddie gave me his card and whenever I call or come in, my RV needs are personally handled by Eddie so that I don't have to repeat or re-explain any existing issues. I feel that Eddie knows my RV and I can always expect excellent and consistent service on each visit. Camping World is a beautiful facility with a very nice RV store attached; I highly recommend Camping World for your RV needs. read more

This review is for the Camping World on Wible in Bakersfield. Our travel trailer had an unfortunate collision with a gas station overhang, and the result was a totally trashed air conditioner. Since we were headed to Bakersfield, we were delighted to find a Camping World there and even more delighted that in TWO HOURS they installed a new AC and we were on our way. I love this Camping World, the 1st time we went there Mike helped us out, he was great and explained all the manufacturer, the differences between them etc. We went back 2 or 3 more times and also went to several RV shows, only to end back up at Camping World. Duke Eskew was absolutely wonderful, helped us find the right 5th wheel, we bought Jayco Eagle 38' and we love it! Financing was a breeze, Service dept installed the 5th wheel plate, they walked us through the entire setup and take down process... we stayed at the RV park across from them and couldn't figure out the leveling system, Duke came right over and walked us through it all! This guy's are wonderful, and so very helpful... if your in the market for a trailer, motor home etc... try them first, you won't be disappointed and they have a huge selection to choose from! read more

alright where do I start the experience to start out was pretty good looked at the RVs picked out the RVs we're going to put a big lump sum of money down on a vehicle they got all my information my wife's informationAngel my salesman he was helpful at the beginning then he faded off in the sunset waited a week to find out what was going on I had to call to find out how financing was going my salesman Angel he had no idea what was going on you would think the person who selling you the vehicle with no what is going on with a loanthey just happened to lose all the information through the email so I had to email all the stuff back to them 3 or 4 days later now keep in mind we went in on a Thursday so this goes on for a whole week the next Saturday I called to find out what's going on with the low know they tell me we couldn't find anybody to finance you I'm like wait a minute you had a whole week and I got to call you to find out what's going on shooting my salesman Angel tell me what's going on or the finance company that they're tell me what's going on so I'm a little pissed like I should be so since you said he couldn't finance me I said well refund my $500 deposit well they have my credit card number to ask for the credit card number they said they're going to refund the money now I still haven't got the $500 back deposit they say they sent it off that Saturday I figure okay I'll get it by Wednesday of next week week and a half later still haven't received itthey said they sent me a receipt the day the transaction went through but behold I'm the one who had to call to find out what the heck is going on a week later and they emailed me a receipt for days after the transaction so any RV people when things he's out there don't buy one from them because their customer service is a really a negative * if I could put it or no star they have nice products but they don't have the right people to sell them the finance company don't talk to you much the salesman lac interest in you because they don't get ahold of you and let you know what's going on with your loans so if you looking to get in RV just look around don't buy from them they have nice products for your RV and maybe the mechanics are a lot better than sales people but beware stay awayand to be honest we got an RV from Barry's RV in Bakersfield the customer service is a plus plus go there they're not corporate they give a crap about their customers read more

We bought a new RV 3 months ago, after bringing it home we noticed several things broken. I contacted Costner service and they advised me take it to a closer camping world near me, They have had the RV for 6 weeks without repair. When I contacted the manager to inform him of the repairs his response was" you must be a first time buyer on RVs . He didn't do much on helping fix the problem . I will never refer anyone there . Went to camping world intending to purchase a trailer. Met with a salesman Mark and advised we were buying to travel the USA after retirement. We told him what we wanted and he advised we didn't want that and we should look at something else instead. Down over an hour looking at stuff HE decided we needed instead of what we came there to see. All of it was above our price range 30,000, he said we didn't want a cheaper trailer and wouldn't even show them to us. He was rude and pushy and I will never go there again. I just bought our Jayco Eagle from Camping World and let me tell you that these people are down to earth and are great to work with. From start to finish, Virgil took exceptional care of us. He helped find out perfect trailer, they were never pushy and they even offered to keep my trailer there for awhile while I looked for my truck to buy. I worked with 2 awesome financial ladies and the girls up front were always extremely courteous! My kids loved the place with all there wooded carved bears and the endless popcorn supply which was pretty darn good. I even had my hitch installed there and they did a great job. Jim gave us our orientation and just made the whole experience even better. We are noobs to the 5th wheel game but Jim was thorough with us and patient. If you are looking to buy a trailer, please don't hesitate on buying from these guys. I trust them and they have wonderful products. Financing is extremely easy with multiple options! Got an email looking for trade ins. "What is your RV worth?" Blah, blah, blah. My fifth wheel is a couple years old. Low miles, great shape, $100,000.00 new with all the options it has. Now I understand depreciation. But your telling me it's only worth $24,000.00 now? Yeah, no. I'm done with Camping World. This was the last straw. They were more than happy to sell me an RV. After that, the customer service went straight downhill. Please don't contact me again. I won't be shopping at any Camping World ever again unless there is absolutely no other option, and I'm guessing there are plenty of other options when it comes to RV service and repair. read more

I wanted to schedule a somewhat last minute service appointment for my camper van and after calling several places in the area, all of which had a waitlist of at least a few weeks, I was delighted to be squeezed in about a week later. Scott Fuson was the one who accommodated me and set me up with the service dept. I was then greeted on arrival by Rodney who did an incredible job explaining so much to me and acknowledging every one of my many requests. He was extremely helpful and delightful to work with throughout the process. I was later introduced to Efrain who fixed some issues with my vehicle. They went so far as to speak with the manufacturing company about some plumbing confusion; it proved their ability to go above and beyond for their customers. Additionally, they spent some extra time addressing more issues (not originally reported by myself) with the vehicle to ensure all matters were dealt with before I headed out. By the end of the service appointment I decided it might be good to winterize the van, while Camping World had no availability the following day, Rodney was so helpful in referring me to mobile help in the area! These guys care about their customers and it shows. While waiting in the lounge, Camping World employees were kind to check in with me even offering suggestions for great eats nearby (I went to one of the recs later and ended up having some of the best tacos I've ever had!) And all other employees within the store portion of the establishment were beyond pleasant as well. All in all I had a wonderful experience at this particular Camping World especially thanks to Rodney. Thank you for all the help! read more

To whom it might concern: I just wanted to put in a good review for Carlos Perez. No one at the RV parts and service desk looked particularly busy but Carlos went out of his way to place my filled propane tank back on my trailer. Something I could not do. Also he took off and replaced 2 batteries and suggested I get a battery kit with cleaner to clean my battery cables which I did. Many times I've come to Camping World and the Service Dept was minimally helpful. I plan to return now due to the excellent service of Carlos. read more

We decided to remodel our travel trail instead of buying a new one. So off to Camping World we went with our list of what we needed which was pretty long. Of course for some of the things we needed to get we had some questions on. Eva was the lucky associate that got to answer all of them and she did it with a smile. She was amazing and very patient with us, answered everything we asked. She even went above and beyond to find out the answer that would require help from the service department. Some of the items where not in store so she looked everything up, got delivery time lines and even gave us different options. I have to say her customer service was above a 5 star ratting! We left with two baskets filled and some others things we need to go back for in the service department. Thank you Eva you made our shopping experience so much fun and took the stress out of the idea of DIY travel trailer remodel. Well today I finally got time to myself and decided to give Camping World a review. I live an extremely busy work life so when it comes to a day or two to myself I think recreational! My wife and I were treated by so well by Rick (sales rep) from the time we arrived there up to the day we went back to pick up our travel trailer back in early June. Customer service here is a night/day compression to the low line of customer service we received at trailer hitch rv in Nipomo CA. Now a month later from our purchase date we were going to use the trailer for the first time, Unfortunately we experience some electrical issues (smoke out of power panel, fried fire place heater, and a/c system not working.) Like anything else that's new you gotta work out the bugs as you go along. Lucky it's new and under warranty. Hey things happen, is what it is. I am confident even though it's been in the shop since the 11th of July that the shops experts will properly diagnose the issue(s) and address it. Wife and I are excited to take out our trailer for the first time! I'll be updating my review once we get the trailer back and fixed! read more

We are so grateful for SCOTT at Camping World. He saved the day literally. We were on a trip in our RV from San Diego to Sequoia Nat'l Park, and we had some trouble w/ our RV. We googled help but everyone we talked to was backed up 3 weeks. We found that Camping World was 5 miles away, so pulled in and talked to someone who gave us some business cards of mobile rv repair people. As we were leaving, SCOTT had overheard the conversation and said "let me come out and look at your problem"....Within 5 minutes he had fixed it!! He was a true ANGEL, and we can't give him enough praise!! He saved the day! Ask for Scott at CW and he will step up and go the extra mile!! God bless Scott!! read more

Ordered a dometicc slidetopper to replace my torn one. Spoke to Sandy, she took all my info over the phone along with the payment bc she said it was a SPECIAL ORDER!!!! You are Camping World!!!! You are supposed to have that already there for your customers. I said fine, order it bc I need it. Then she tells me bc it is special order I gotta pay $99 extra. I said fine just get it here. One week later= NOTHING!! I called Sandy from Camping World only to never get a call back from her day after day. Leaving her messages and she would never return my phone calls. She's either with a customer or on the phone with sum1, but it's not with me. I finally get fed up and I spoke to her boss. He tells me she never placed the order. She calls me 3 hours later apologizing saying she doesn't know what happened but she never placed the order. 2 weeks later I'm still waiting for the part with negative results!!! I call her to find out the status on my purchase and nothing. I still can't get a hold of her. I get her boss again and he tells me a different price quote from wat SANDY quoted me. I've had it with Camping World. They're crooks and shady and they have no respect for their customers. I told them to cancel my order and I'll go with a reputable rv store. read more

I had my fifth wheel in for service and most things were covered under the warranty. And one thing that was covered, what they don't tell you is that you are responsible for the shipping............ WELL! I ship things all over the world all the time and by the size and weight of the part should have been no more then $50 to ship across the country...... Camping world charged me $300.00!! when I called them out on it they told me that they don't know the shipping cost till its delivered and there was no way of approving the price to ship with me.... I could of very easily ordered the part on my own from amazon for 180.00 and got free shipping through PRIME and installed myself in 5 min. But instead I decided too use the warranty that I paid $3000.00 for and it ended up costing me double to use my warranty! THANKS ALOT CAMPING WORLD YOU SCREWED ME AGAIN!!!!!!!! read more

Purchased a Sprinter RV back in August that has about 4,500 miles we have used about 5 times and went to our local manufactures approved RV service center to check price for recommended service and they seemed a bit "put off" that I asked them to check and see what service we needed to get back on the road after 3 month storage and quoted us a little less than $500.00 for the check up. We also need another "walk through" for our RV to show us how things worked. (I was a bit overwhelmed during our purchase walk through and only retained about 1/2 of the info they covered) I was told that would be another $250 on top of the $500. WOW I then made a call to the next closest manufacture approved service center that was in Bakersfield about 120 miles away. I completed an on line service request form from Camping World in Bakersfield and received a phone call later that afternoon. I spoke with their a service rep Eddie who told me with the low mileage we had, he recommend I bring it over and they would go through our coach at NO COST and let me know what service was needed. We made an appointment and drove to Bakersfield this morning and met Eddie at 9:00. He walked out to our RV with me and did a walk around then asked if I had been running my generator which I had to answer NO.... He let me know the carburetor could foul without use and encourage us to run it at least 10 - 15 minutes once a month to avoid an expensive replacement. That was the start of our Camping World education. I let Eddie know we didn't have hot water in our bathroom sink and he said they would check it out. 1/2 hour later he said they cleaned some blockage in the hot water line that was most likely done during the assembly process. He then took our RV into the service garage for the inspection and we returned at 1:00 for the "Walk through" to show us how our systems worked. We were introduced to Benny who did a perfect job explaining how specific systems worked and answered every question we had. I can't tell you how much info he shared and slowed down when he saw the "deer in the head light" look I had when I didn't completely understand what he was telling me. It was clear to me this guy knew his stuff! THANK YOU BENNY! After our walk through I went back to Eddie to settle up our bill and was told the check up was NO COST and then said clearing the blockage for the bathroom hot water was also done at no additional cost. He had let us know the walk through was done by their sales department and would cost $159.00 (which I thought was a bargain) ... Bottom line, Eddie was able to discount that work as well.. UNBELIEVABLE.. Both Eddie and Benny went above and beyond to service us and have made us their costumer for LIFE.. I cant say enough good things about the service, cost and the way we were treated.. THANK YOU SO MUCH.....CAMPING WORLD IN BAKERSFIELD YOU ARE THE THE BEST!! read more
