Definitely go out of town before buying from them. We went to La Mesa RV in Sacramento and paid 18K less for our new motorhome and got 13K more for our trade. They think they are the only game in town so they don't work with you. Plus they also charge this get ready package or something to get extra from you. They had what I wanted so I took the Trailer, but did not get weight distribution hitch which we asked for to be added in the loan. I felt rushed from both the seller and the finance guy, I felt I was expected to know everything in 30 seconds. I would have given it a five star if the financial representative would have had some patience, the whole phone call made me have second thoughts getting the trailer from them. *Buyer Beware* I'll start by giving credit where credit is due, when we first arrived in the lot they did not have the unit we were looking for, a Keystone Fuzion 369. Two weeks later we were told they were able to redirect the unit we wanted to them from the manufacture. We decided to put down a deposit for $500 but there was a "mistake" and they ran the card for $2,500. Oh and ran 5 hard credit runs, oops! When the unit arrives we go take a look to confirm it was "the one" and subsequently made a deal. This is where things took a turn for the worst. We were scheduled to complete our orientation and take delivery last weekend. 30 minutes before our appointment, we are notified that the ramp door keys did not ship with the unit and one of the garage beds needs to be replaced. Upon our arrival, we were informed by the dealer's sales manager "there has been a incident, a small scuff" with our 100k+ 5th wheel. The service department struck an awning pillar. They assured us they can repair the fiberglass cap but the best can can do to make this right was a $200 shopping spree. Understandably we decided to not move forward with that unit or Camping World. I wouldn't put it past them to try to sell this not so new unit at full price even though it has a collision under its belt. read more

After receiving an email from corporate offering to buy our toy hauler we decided to take our trailer in for sale. That was on the 1st of July. It is now the 12th of July and we still have not been paid for our trailer and NOBODY at the dealership will give us an update or even return our call. Best part is they already have our trailer listed for sale despite not having the title. My husband and I have been shopping for a new fifth wheel for over a year. Our requirements were a little unique, as I needed a functioning office space because I work from home. Also, this is going to be my husband's home for 5 days out of the week for the next 4 months, so we wanted a rig that was rated for full-time living. Most of the rigs we saw may have had a bonus room, but the desk space was too small, or there were too many steps between the living room, down to the kitchen, back up to the bedroom and bathroom. We're not old, but going up and down like that does take a toll on your knees. Also, I wanted the solid stairs in and out of the rig, so that was a consideration as well. We had finally settled on a Keystone Montana 3854BR that has a bonus room w/ loft and outside kitchen. It had residential appliances, theater seating, a full couch that can pull out into a bed, a love seat in the office which can also pull out into a bed, and a full wall-to-wall desk - what a luxury! When we finally went to find one, most of the RV dealers didn't have that model in stock. We found one at Camping World in Bakersfield. It had all the extras we wanted, including a king bed and a tow-hitch for the travel trailer. My husband contacted them and worked with Virgil to negotiate a great price. The best part? Virgil even took our calls during his day off. That's service. Once we put the $500 down to secure the rig, I worked with Leesa for the financing. She gave us all the information and negotiated an excellent interest rate, lower than the one our credit union was offering. The day we went to pick up the rig, it was cleaned and Bennie in service provided us excellent instruction about the ins and outs of the rig. He was patient, knowledgeable, and his team fixed the small nits I pointed out right there and then. Trust me, we went over that rig with a fine-toothed comb - testing all the gadgets, the lights, the pop-outs, and my husband toured the roof and examined the exterior, the storage space, the mechanics of the rig very carefully. Bennie didn't blink an eye and was happy to help us with all of our questions and concerns. When we went to financing with Leesa, she was very friendly, very patient with all our questions, very honest and upfront about what were responsible for, what the warranty covered, and how long the warranty was good for. The discrepancy between the packages was minimal given the excellent interest rate she negotiated, so we went with the platinum package warranty. The Camping World at Bakersfield also has a full-service store, and we were able to get sheets and other essentials for the rig before we left. We had a great experience with the crew and staff at this Camping World location. No one pushed us into a sale, Virgil did not call us constantly and Leesa was responsive to my emails before we arrived at the site. Other dealers had their salespeople call and text us mercilessly, and while I understand they want to make a sale, they have to understand that spending $80K is a big decision and needs to be thought through carefully. I felt the staff at Camping World Bakersfield understood this and provided us the time and comfort to make that decision while still being available to answer all our questions until the final sale. It was important to us to find a dealer that we felt comfortable with because we anticipate upgrading or purchasing at least one more rig in the future, and I'm glad to know we can come back to Camping World Bakersfield to get the kind of personal customer service we desire to find the perfect rig. All of the outstanding reviews about Camping World-Bakersfield are well earned and obviously valid! We were contacted by Barry on 9/26 with an update on our trailer. Camping World had not only completed our installation, found and repaired our water heater, but they also found other issues we were not aware of and fixed them. While I still wonder what an appointment actually does for you (smile), I am very pleased with the Customer Service we received at Camping World and we are very happy they are the closest dealership to our home. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I recently wrote a review regarding my trailer and how they had zero communication with the process on getting the shower fixed. Well, the time finally came that we were able to pick our trailer up. We get our trailer home, excited that we finally have it back, only to become furious once more. We turned our water pump on to test it out and heard water leaking behind the wall! Water then starts flowing on the ground from behind the wall and my husband takes the knobs off the shower. It looks like someone intentionally screwed a hole through the pipe. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Their service is totally unacceptable. read more

I purchased a new travel trailer from Camping World of Bakersfield. The delivery and service has been horrible, to say the least. First I was talked into buying the "Camp Ready" package expecting the trailer to be completely gone through and ready to go camping. On the delivery day, there was a single item on the list to be fixed. During the 10-minute walk through we discovered the blind over the bunk beds was broken, the blind over the table was broken, almost all the trim was damaged, there was brown dried glue on the wall at eye level in the bathroom, and the pantry shelf was broken. Then when we went out for our first camping trip we discovered the water line to the toilet leaked, the water supply to the bathroom sink leaked, the water line to the kitchen sink leaked, and the hot water lines still had pink stuff in them, the lid to the storage compartment under the bunk beds was broken, the weather stripping to the storage compartment in the front was so poorly installed it was falling off, the shower rod was loose and falling off, the snap covers on the bunk bed were missing, there were staples hanging out of the roof above the top bunk bed, and the wiring to the batteries was left hanging and almost dragging on the ground. I was conned into paying extra for this service and ALL of this was missed. I spent most of our first camping trip running back and forth to a hardware store to get tools and parts to get things to a point where it was useable. Upon our return, I took the trailer back to Camping World Bakersfield and talked to the Service Director. He was not very helpful and didn't seem to care much about my experience. I paid for a service, and it either did not happen or was done so poorly that it might as well have not happened. This place is a complete rip-off! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Camping World has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They are great when you are buying a vehicle just don't get service completed. I made an appointment and they were 7 weeks out, ok. When I brought in my RV to my appointment they told me they were 3 weeks out ok. After week 4 I tried to call because no one called me for any updates with the vehicle or extended warranty. I tried service again left message no one calls back. One week later I called again and left a message, OMG someone called me back. He said it was just a Coincidence that he called me back. So done!!! read more

Ok after being an Rver for sometime and been to so many Camping Worlds in other towns, for Bakersfield being such a large town the retail section of this store is in dire need of enlarging. It is so congested and a lot of the time you have to have them get something off the upper rack or they are out of something or just don't carry it. That's pretty disappointing especially when you're wanting to purchase things for your RV. The big problem is that they are the Good Sam affiliate and we appreciate all the campground discounts and the discounts we get at the store, but come on this store really needs to step it up a little bit. We also had a quote from their service department for them to install a hitch in our new truck for our 5th wheel and come to find out they were going to install the totally wrong one because they didn't do their research on a brand new truck that only took one brand of hitch. Stopped in today on my lunch break to buy a new replacement two stage propane regulator as my has failed and we are heading out of town tomorrow. Who would have known you would have had a run on these things and be out. I found it somewhat amusing that the peg that would normally hold these apparently highly sought after gems, was the ONLY peg in the entire aisle that was empty. Just my luck I guess... True, this place has the pink flamingos to set up outside your campsite and the all too handy soap dispenser with palm trees on it. Hell they even have an awesome selection of dog toys... He helped provide us with options other than those we had in mind, and showed us around to multiple units until we found the right one. I brought my coach in for warranty work and customer pay work. First issue was that I requested that the batteries to be serviced and tire pressures checked. When I picked up the coach and inspected it when I got home I found that the batteries were not serviced at all. They had a lot of corrosion on them and the fluid was never inspected. After multiple calls and photographs sent proving they were not properly serviced the manager finally reimbursed me for that. The second issue is I requested that the Aqua-hot have an electric diagnostic test done and a quote to do the maintenance on it. I advised them that I had the coach winterized. They stated that the service was twice what others had quoted and notified me that they found nothing wrong with the system. Once the snow had melted at my home I brought it home to prepare it for a trip, that's when I realized that they had unwinterized my coach by adding water to the holding tank and pressurized the system. It was then I found out that due to them unwinterizing my coach and not notifying me that pipes froze and broke. I spoke with corporate and they denied the repair or to even have it inspected. read more

I went to the parts store at Camping World in Bakersfield ca last week. To purchase a air conditioning controller for my a/c. A gentleman named Arthur waited on me. Worst experience a costumer could ever have. He was very condescending and the rudest person that I ever met. The other two gentlemen kept apologizing to me for Arthur's rude behavior. Here's an update to my initial review around 9/6/23. We still have yet to get our refrigerator fixed. We took our trailer in about 3 weeks ago when they said our part was received. Then 2 weeks after that, I received a call to tell me that the part was damaged. Now, what I don't understand is why are these parts not checked when they are received. Why did it take 2 weeks after we took the trailer in for them to realize that the part was damaged. I advised him at this point that we had a trip planned for 11/3/23. When we took the trailer in we thought they would get right on it and fix it, nope. The third week, I got a call that the part should be in on Thursday 10/26/23. However, he was going on vacation and gave me a name to contact in his absence. I again asked if our trailer would be ready by 11/3/23. He stated it should be done and to call the contact person he gave us. My husband called today 10/31/23 to follow up on the trailer since it's days until our trip. He was told that the contact person was no longer working there. He proceeded to ask if she knew what was going on with our trailer. She said it shows they are still waiting for the part. He told her the part was supposed to be in last week. She again stated they are waiting for the part and that it is scheduled to be in on 11/1/23 and there's nothing they can do until they get the part. She said to contact our regular guy as he will be back tomorrow. She said it is a 7 hour job, my husband told her it shouldn't take that long since it is currently taken apart right now. You can only imagine how upset and angry I was, this is ridiculous. Does anyone ever go above and beyond for their customers anymore. 6 month now since the first time we took it in to be repaired. 3 days until our planned trip. I can only hope Camping World makes this right. I really would hate to go on another trip without a refrigerator and having to again put our food and drinks in ice chests. Which means again we have to buy multiple bags of ice to keep everything cold. We will see what happens. read more
