Don't believe their hype about Good Sam membership! the $25 dollar certificate is BS, you get a certificate that you have to use within two month, and sometimes you never receive the certificate, i have called 3 times and almost 6 month later i receive one certificate, still waiting on my second one. You cannot use the certificate online, Camping World has no place for you to enter the certificate, they only have an entry for gift cards.. So why don't they give you a gift card instead of a certificate? good question,,, the reason is to make it difficult for you to use it, that way they get away with you never using your $25. Dealt with Max and Gabe. Initially, they seemed polite and helpful. In the end, they kept not a single one of their promises, did nothing whatsoever to help me with the issues with my camper, and ignored my emails desperately trying to get any information about the problems with which I came to them. I'd been warned about Camping World, but unfortunately, I am another customer who has lived to regret having ever had anything to do with this ridiculously mismanaged company. The crew at the Marion, NC CW where I bought my camper a mere 7 months ago were at least polite and attentive, although it sometimes took the intervention of the general manager to get them to fix the many things that went wrong with the POS Starcraft trailer I bought - but they did in the end, even though it took a month, and the general manager had to be shamed into comping my stay there because of the plethora of breakdowns and labor delays. However, CW of San Martin, and here I want again to call out MAX and GABE, let me to believe they'd research what was needed to fix the new issues with my camper and get back to me, but there has been no phone call, no response to my emails, NO HELP WHATSOEVER, and they have basically proven themselves to be liars. After waiting since SEPTEMBER 7TH for them to do even ONE of the things they said they'd do to help me out, I am here on November 13th to tell the world the truth about their utter uselessness and egregiously awful customer service. I was not overly impressed by Camping World after driving 50 miles to get to it. In my mind, I kept visualizing that it would be a huge RV and camper outlet with great prices. It was kind of depressing when I drove up to the front of the store. The store front was blah (old), and when I stepped inside, nothing inside really stood out to me. As I said before, the store was not huge, but it was not that small either. To tell the truth, this store reminded me of a Kragens type atmosphere, except this store carries RV and camper accessories. My only dealing with their staff was when I was rung up for my purchases. The guy was not over friendly and helpful. If this is any indication on how the other staff members would be, I'm not impressed. The long drive to this store was not worth my time and gas. Go to the Vacaville store not here. Called about a outside heater screen. First call they lost me. I called back the employee is told the item and size I'm looking for. He puts me on hold after saying he will check the isle. Gets back on phone an said their in stock. I ask if they have several as I don't want to drive forty miles and find their out of stock. Assured me they had plenty. Got to the store two hours later they have none in stock! I told them I called and they tried to tell me I spoke to the information line and not a store emplyee. I told them it was a store emplyee, he Identified himself and the store when he answered and he also told me he was walking over to check the isle for the item. Absolutely depressingly dismally bad RV service and repair. This crowd of idiots repeatedly mis-diagnosed multiple faults on my RV, failed to fix them (well, in fairness as they had diagnosed them wrongly the fix wasn't going to happen), charged me an arm and a leg in a never-ending escalation of supposedly essential work and throughout treated me worse than a piece of dirt on the underside of my shoe. The BBB will be getting a letter and I suspect this will go all the way to small claims court. Do not repeat my mistake! read more

The retail store is amazing, they have more inventory of camping/RV items than nearly all non Camping World stores. Dropped my generator off a month before leaving on a trip, they forgot to order the part and acted as it was no concern of theirs. We found a leak in our brand new travel trailer purchased from another dealer. Turned out that Keystone didn't actually connect the drain from the shower to the pipe. We called our dealer's service department... and... we're still waiting for someone to call us back. In the meantime, we called Camping World to see if they could take a look at it. Not only did they make an effort to listen to my issue, they accommodated me the same day, and were able to fix it right away. I appreciate that Max and team seemed genuinely concerned that I left with a fix and working shower. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Where to begin. Stopped in to exchange some folding chairs that I bought at CW La Mirada. I purchased the chairs with the "CW insurance" (I highly recommend buying that as most camp chairs blow out pretty fast). We couldn't find the insurance in the system. Doug went above and beyond and searched through the nervous Good Sam memberships I was showing under my wife and my account. We found it. After that we wanted different chairs to try to get stronger ones. Amy joined in to help us narrow our search. She was SO helpful. She new which chairs were stronger, which were more practical for our camping style. Amazing customer service. Our children were given Ice Cream. They had a blast. Since we were just in town visiting. Amy helped us with directions to the things we needed to get locally. Gave us tips on places to go. Outstanding Customer Service. BestCamping world yet. (Staff members says they have phone problems). But no composting toilets and no one who knew anything. So we decided to pick up a few other things, but they had practically nothing in stock. Camping world of San Martin is the exception to the culture of California. I'd go as far as to say the customer service is above and beyond that of even the southern states which are known for friendly and helpful service. It is apparent that the entire staff at this location takes pride in their work. I was surprised to see that they were as eager as I was to fix me up and get me back on the road. Max, the service manager is a master of his craft and the respect the rest of his team as for him is obvious to anyone who walks in the door. If the rest of the camping worlds across the country modeled their customer service after the San Martin location, their reputation would improve immensely. I've enjoyed the personable customer service and hop in occasionally to see what new and nifty products and gadgets they stock. We waited in line behind a gentleman wearing a MAGA hat for 20 min while the clerk was looking around for a box of his that he special ordered. In the meantime, 2 employees walked around the shop instead of offering the help check people out (a line of 5 behind us...) and one of the employees came up to my girlfriend who was holding her dog and reached in to pet the dog without asking, then proceeded to walk away instead of offering to help check us out. Hands down the worst experience. Avoid this place at all costs. There are other RV repair shops within 10-15 miles, I highly recommend one them over these guys. Took a month to get an appointment, another month for the repairs. The said they don't deal with a specific manufacturer until I called the manufacturer and verified they did. Finally got my rv back and the only repairs they were to make (replacing reservoir for the hydraulics) still leaked. Then they want to fix it with RTV instead of making the proper repairs. There customer service is as bad as the techs. Left a message with the district manager and never heard back. No one answers the phone and plan on standing at the service desk for an hour. Great customer service and thinking outside of the box...literally. Here is my experience with CW of San Martin. I was searching for a mattress topper and/or decent mattress to replace my 2009 travel trailer springy mattress. Yes...I can feel the springs on my back as I slept in it. I went to CW and was about to buy a foam mattress topper but the associate told me I would likely not be able to return it after using it for one day. He suggested talking with his supervisor Vanessa. I came back several days later and Vanessa assisted me. She told me on the phone that the foam mattress topper is able to be returned as long as the plastic was on it. During my store visit, we opened a box and the foam mattress topper did not have any plastic covering. (Houston, we have a problem!) So Vanessa goes in the back room and also chatted with her store manager. She grabs me an earlier model of the same type of foam mattress topper and obtained permission to allow me to return the mattress topper if I was not satisfied. EVEN without any plastic covering! That made my day! I was given a two week time frame to return the mattress topper if I did not like it. After using the mattress topper for one night...I love it and slept so good on it! I'm a keeper and pleased with the customer service provided. read more

We were traveling from SoCal on vacation and discovered that one of our rooftop vents "disappeared" somewhere south of Gilroy. It was the vent over the bed in our 5th wheel trailer. We arrived at Camping World at 8:00 AM the next morning when it opened, hoping they could replace it. Sure... if we wanted to stick around until the next week (about 5 days) since they were "booked" with repair jobs. They have SEVERAL bays in the repair shop, but most were empty with doors closed. I could not comprehend. Perhaps they need more mechanics? Were they all on vacation or at the garlic festival? BUT at least we could purchase the vent cover we needed and they allowed my husband to use their ladder to climb up and replace it himself in their parking lot. Thanks for that, Camping World. No telling what our mattress would have looked like the next day if it had rained overnight. Although my hubby spent about 2 hours fixing it, we were back on the road sooner than "next week," reeking of garlic. :) read more

Customer service can really make or break a company. I stumbled upon this site and they had something no other site had. So I went for it and ordered the item not thinking to look up their reviews first. I sat and waited for an email for days to confirm tracking and never received it. I called them up and after the lady shouted in the phone I was able to get her attention and look up my order by telephone number. She said the item is on backorder. I asked her is that listed anywhere on the email I was sent or the site? She said no. I asked how am I supposed to know that it is on back order, her response was we never charged your credit card. So I asked her how long is it on backorder she said I don't know 2-6 weeks, maybe longer. I finally decided to cancel the order since I needed it asap. Had I known the item was on backorder I would have ordered from another site. I was not happy with how the conversation went from beginning to end. I could not believe the huffing and puffing that they sales girl gave when asked a simple question. She states they did have them in stock so we head over and purchase what we needed. Took the receiver to the RV dealer installing the dish and came home. The RV dealer calls to let us know that there was NO POWER CORD! What the heck??!! This used to be the best rv supply store in the area but over the last 2 years has gone totally! So we will be ordering online at Amazon or directly from Directv. I had a major window problem with my motorhome. I called Camping World and talked with Max Hayes the service manager. We had never met yet he was most helpful and even gave me his personal cell number to send photos after hours to help expedite resolution of my problem. He figured out what was needed, coordinated the repair without the outside glass fabricator, kept me informed constantly and did everything he could to keep the cost contained. I live only 2 miles from the shop but had a transportation issue. Max even took me home and picked me up when the work was done. I was a total stranger but yet he gave me the best service I have ever seen. I cannot say enough good things about him. He was outstanding. read more
