Found this place on Groupon 2 years ago and have been a regular here since. They only charge $48 for a 1 hour body massage & unlike other places I've been to, they will DESTROY the knots in your body & put their whole ass body weight/elbows/strength into it!!! Usually come here for 90 minute massage - 1hr on the traps/neck/shoulders where all my stress is stored and 30 minutes on the rest. ($70 for the massage + $20 tip - and YES please make sure you tip at least 20% of the cost of your massage!!! Bring cash too.) They have a loyalty card too where you can get a free massage after your 10th visit. It's no frills so come with your expectations for decor and ambiance tempered but man if you ask them to go hard they will. Tried several places around Chinatown but Canal BodyWorks has been my favorite. Not to be dramatic but I always leave this place feeling like I can breathe better and the weight off my shoulders has been lifted. read more

Its located on my favorite little corner in Chinatown and the people were nice. We got 90 minute massages. They tap you harshly to show you theyre starting the timer. Here's my issues: one, its a pretty brightly lit, not super relaxing environment and two they were texting as they were massaging both lol which is pretty unsanitary and how is that part of the massage. I absolutely loved my foot massage! :) I came to see the mural on the floor of Doyer's street and stumbled upon this place. I'm so glad I did since me and my family were tired from walking. Their prices are also very reasonable as well. It was $25 for 30 minutes and they had a $38 deal for a 45 min back massage and foot massage. Had a body massage done by Linda, it was deep tissue and really helped loosen my muscles. She was thorough for what my body needed and communicated if the pressure was okay for me throughout the massage. My foot reflexology was done by Mr Chang, he was the best foot reflexologist I've ever had. Seriously. I get massages regularly at Chinese massage places, I've gotten many massages in Thailand & Taiwan and Mr chang has been the best!! I don't think their masseuse is trained professionally. She used her elbow to apply a lot of pressure on my upper spine, and now it hurts. Most of the massage session was just being pressed on using arms/elbows, which made it extremely painful/uncomfortable. This was not for me, so I will not be coming back. This is a no-frills place like others have mentioned, which is reasonable for the price. You will hear noise from people coming into the shop, talking, and walking around. read more

I visited twice during my visit and will plan my hotel to be closer so I can come every day I'm here. Michael was my masseuse and he was VERY good. He can work your knots out and helps with posture. I surprised my boyfriend with a 45-min full body couples massage and it was more than worth the money! The only issue I had was with the wait--we had to wait almost 30 minutes longer even though we made it appointment, but I wonder if that's because we wanted to be in a room together. It was a little confusing at first with the massage because they were massaging us through a towel, but then it was heaven! I had a woman masseuse and it felt like she was moving around super quickly, but I left feeling amazing. The hot stones were also awesome! So that explains all the very short 5-star reviews below. *** Entrance on a side street in Chinatown. A little hard to find / hole in the wall. If you're looking for something very cheap and don't mind going without the amenities, overall service was great here and the ladies here are very sweet! Call in advance to make an appointment since they don't have too many people staffed at once. Prices are very reasonable and there is the usual under-the-table discount if you pay in cash. It's pretty bare bones and they only have single rooms (no couples rooms) and they're not rooms as much as separated spaces with screens. Its not exactly soundproof, and one of the annoyances is that you can hear people in the lobby coming in and out and talking as well as any chatter in the adjacent rooms. Its the naked kind of massage where you take all your clothes off except underwear, but they cover parts of your body with a towel that they're not working on. Ends with a hot stone rub. Overall I thought the service was great and my masseuse was very strong. Came out feeling relaxed and I thought he did a good job getting my knots out. Prices are really cheap and despite how hole-in-the-wall it appears, it was a solid experience. It's a solid four star place but it does lose a point for ambiance/sound/sketchiness. I came in thinking it was going to be a good experience because of the good reviews. But gosh i regret my visit. I can understand that there is a language barrier because i cant speak cantonese/mandarin but its still easy to convey pain during a session. I repeatedly asked for a female masseuse but was not helped. During my massage i was being massaged on my glutes excessively, and my pants kept getting pushed further down. I kept telling the person i wasnt sore or tense in that area and would point to the places that were. And in the places that were tense they were too aggressive, the best way to get knots out are smooth and sometimes slow movement. They injured my back terribly, but the only good pain was my foot massage. Please teach your employees what some english phrases mean like "please dont massage me here" and "please go lighter/easier". read more

Legit one of the worst massages I've ever experienced. Husband and I went in for a couples massage - His was adequate, mine was terrible. My masseuse took not one, but TWO phone calls during the massage. One in the room, while one handed massaging me. The other she left the room for several minutes for. Note: there is a sign in the room asking customers not to use their cell phones. Guess this request does not carry over to staff. The massage itself was terrible too. There is a difference between massaging muscles and aggressively rubbing skin. I basically got a one hour rug burn. I asked her repeatedly to go deeper and not rub the skin off but she just said ok each time and kept doing the exact same motion. Im assuming whoever I got was new since all the other reviews here are so positive. Hopefully she will find her calling in another profession soon and the standards at this place will return to normal quickly. read more
