    Carne Asada Burrito Bowl
    Willy T.

I ordered a carne asada burrito bowl with black beans. It arrived in 3 minutes and they asked if I wanted mild or medium salsa. I got the mild and it was a salsa verde. The portion size is good - it's a big bowl. The lettuce was warm and they used squash/zucchini, which was weird but edible. The salsa didn't taste that good but still had a little kick. The carne asada was uninspiring. The best thing about eating here is a big portion sizes and lightning fast service. Overall this is pretty average airport food.

Carnitas burrito bowl, the pork was the standout here. Crispy edges forever!

This little humble airport eatery served us up some decent food with a side of Christmas joy from Yusef, the manager/bartender/cashier. Yusef approached everything and everybody with a broad grin and friendly banter. We sat at a tiny table at the entrance. We could see everything! We placed our orders at the computers. I dropped a star because it was a tad unwieldy. Probably unfairly I am comparing them to similar set-ups in Japan! (You also have the option to place an order with a person.) The place could use some upgrades in furniture but otherwise was very clean, especially for such a busy place. A gentleman was working hard to keep it nice. I forgot his name, dang it, such a nice man. Food came fresh and hot within 10 minutes. My carnitas burrito bowl was filled to the brim with lettuce, fresh Mexican rice, black beans, grilled zucchini and yellow squash, just the right amount of onions and probably six really large chunks of meat. The pork's crispy edges made this dish extra yummy. I was shocked at how delicious this food was. My husband's chicken quesadilla was thick with chunks of meat, guacamole, melty cheese. This was no flat disc meal. Hearty! I enjoyed the parade of every type of person walking by as we ate. At no time did I feel cramped or that people were staring at us despite our proximity to the cashier. This appears to be an airport outlet of a Berkeley restaurant by the same name. Well, Yusef has incredibly created a casual fast food rendition, in an AIRPORT no less, that makes me want to try the main location! Say what?!? Kudos to Yusef!

This crispy chicken taco is absolutely delicious! This taco was dripping with layers of flavors. Great customer service!

The crispy chicken taco is bursting with layers of flavors. very simple with very simple ingredients! The customer service is on point. Someone pinch me! I can't believe this wonderful restaurant is in Oakland airport. What a score!!

I was flying to Hawaii early in the morning and was very hungry. After seeing my son's breakfast tacos I went back and got my own order. I love the corn tortillas they taste freshly made as they were nice and thick. I wish I would've taken a picture but I was trying to take care of my hunger before a 5 hour flight.

    Burrito Bowl

If your plane is delayed or looking for something good to eat I'd stop here. I'd have to say the burrito bowl here is 10x better than the burrito bowl from Chipotle. Every bite had flavor. The rice was cooked perfectly and the asada meat had flavor to it as well. The hot salsa is actually spicy unlike other places. They do have a mild salsa if you don't like it spicy. The kiosk was easy to use and navigate. Food came out of the kitchen within a reasonable time. Tables are clean and they do have electric sockets for your electronics just remember to bring your cables.

    This is a quesadilla???

Service here sucks. AND a quesadilla is more like a burrito with everything on it. Felt like the staff was laughing at us when we asked for margaritas. Saw them being rude to several other customers as wll.

Egg white sandwich in a bowl with a side of chorizo

Cancún Sabor Mexicano was a decent choice for food in OAK. It's not fancy, and there is almost no seating. Also, the chorizo is awful. Service in the airport is as you would expect - decent but not great. The portions were generous, although expensive, and not totally as advertised. Go with the tacos or a burrito and avoid the chorizo.

Okay! Super excited Cancun Taqueria now has a location at the Oakland airport. I ordered my usual order I get at their Berkeley location which is the crispy chicken tacos! They are absolutely delicious!!! However, I would order the tacos separately if you have the time. I ordered two tacos and my second taco the tortilla was soggy but still so dam delicious. I needed a fork to finish my taco. But the quality of chicken and all the ingredients was so yummy and fresh. Lots of people were ordering the burrito which is a good idea for on the go before your flight. Their staff is very friendly and accommodating and will give plenty of salsa and napkins which is a plus. They have a big bar area and several tables for parties of 3 and they have TV's to catch up on sports while you wait. Nice clean and friendly atmosphere. Also you can get a big water to go for only a dollar as you have to pay for the cup but definitely cheaper than any water sold at the airport. I will be back to grab a burrito before heading home.

The customer service was super friendly and the food was delicious! I had the Al Pastor burrito and it was fantastic, I found out that it's all made in house using organic ingredients. Both the green and red salsa are worth trying as well as the strawberry Fresca drink.

The menudo was completely bland and tasted like it came straight out of a can definitely not fresh and absolutely not worth ordering. The chips and guacamole were just "okay," but even that's being generous since the chips were clearly old and stale. The steak nachos were the final straw. They were straight-up gross. I ordered steak nachos and somehow got nachos covered in rice, barely any meat (if any at all), and a laughably small portion for the price. On top of that, they were made with the same stale chips. For what they charge, this level of food quality is unacceptable. I won't be coming back. The server was rude and short didn't care to answer any questions. Sinceramente me molesta haber gastado dinero aquí. No regresaré.

She ordered a beer and I ordered the watermelon type of drink. My tacos were so dry and the waiter forgot to bring me avocado salsa. However, even after he brought it, it was still so very dry and not very flavorful. It's like the just added the seafood on it without seasoning it. Also, I specifically told him no onions. However, there was onions on both my tacos. The rice was hard on some of the parts. The only thing great was the beans. My wife stated that get steak was bland as well. She nor I was pleased. I didn't bother to complain because we were with other people and I just wanted to have a great night. My drink came out watery with no flavor. I had to ask for additional watermelon stuff to put in it. He didn't even give me a straw, although he posted straws to everyone else. The waiter only came over once to check in on us and that was it. When the bill came, I gave the waiter $20 to make change for me. He made the change and handed it back to my friend. He was not even paying attention to us the entire time and now this. I felt such a way.

We ordered pork shoulder, chicken, and charred broccoli tacos, as well as a tostada with elote and an agua fresca. The braised pork pulled aprt tenderly to reveal the chiles that imparted their subtle flavor. The mayonnaise spread thinly across the tostada was equal parts spicy and tangy, and almost too intense if not for the corn and squash layered onto it. (Perhaps the veggies were slightly under-seasoned to balance the mayo? I was a bit underwhelmed by them.) The agua de melon was syrupy in texture with a smoothness you don't often find. If there is one caveat, it is the price tag. Get yourself two tacos and call it a light meal, otherwise the tab starts adding up!

We ordered the duck carnitas, summer tamales, and kids' quesadilla, along with the roasted beats and a strawberry agua fresca and horchata. I cannot enumerate all of the amazing elements and flavors in this meal, but I can say that the crispy outside of the duck and the ease with which it fell apart drew a connection between duck confit and carnitas that changed the way I will think about both. The hearty masa in the tamales had a the texture of hand ground corn and was substantial enough to warrant chewing though. The beet -- tender and flavorful in itself -- was paired with a nutty, spicy mole like a thick paste, bright with its herbs. The agua fresca was a summertime blast of fruit. Yes, yes. The prices on the menu are $5-10 more than the menu on their website. It's a nice dining room, but very loud and the piped-in music makes it worse: I couldn't hear what my date was saying across the table. We started with the smoked trout tostadas. This is kind of ceviche style, and they were delicious. These are "street taco" sized tostadas by the way. The portion was OK but for $20 it could've been a bit more substantial. The duck mole: the duck was nicely unctuous and cooked amazingly, but very salty. The mole had the consistency and taste of hummus. Needless to say it was thick, gloopy and tasted only of cumin. The little salad on the plate was plastered in it. The grilled swordfish Valencia style was just an overly sour salsa verde with a couple chopped green olives with the fish sitting in the watery liquid. The salsa had a kick, but tasted mostly of lime, it was also cold. The swordfish however was grilled perfectly and the portion was great--for $35 I'm glad it was. Beans and rice seemed an overly salty afterthought, and if you don't want beans, too bad, it's served in the same bowl as the rice. The service was almost non-existent--no one checked in on us or asked how things were; there seemed to be only one person taking orders in the dining room and three-four people running around. Our appetizer plates sat in front of us for 15 mins, so when the entrees arrived the runner had a hard time clearing the table and simultaneously putting down the entrees. We didn't see our server again until the end when she gave us the check. Suddenly the charm came on when the tip came up. I appreciate what they're doing, but for that price point there are far better options.
