Hello my Yelpies, First of all, When I come here I'm not here to do my nails. I always come here for my facial with the wonderful Fion. So if you're interested in getting a facial I definitely suggest her, so the 5 stars is for her service only since I've never gotten my hair or nails done at this place before. Parking here is super convenient, it is located in the same compound with 99 cents store, so don't need to worry about looking for a spot. First let's start on how I found out about the wonderful sweet Fion. I have to thank my boss for introducing her to me. She is the sweetest and kindest woman I've ever met, She makes me feel so comfortable and her work is magnificent. I do suggest to give her a call/text she is great with both to make an appointment. She does lease a room with the nail/hair salon just in case if anyone is confused. I usually give her a week ahead notice when I will be coming but don't worry you don't need to make an appointment a week ahead like me because she is very good with her schedule. Every time I come here I leave with a brand new face, she definitely can put you to sleep because of how homey and comfortable it feels. I love how she is very detail with her work, every time I leave I have no more blackheads popping out saying hello and left with a wonderful smooth and clean face which can last me for another 2 months. When you get a facial, you want someone who is gentle and actually do care about you trusting them with your face, (I know that sounds weird but I hope you guys know what I mean). You want someone to put in the tender loving and care on helping you with your complexion, Fion is definitely the woman for you. Overall, Service 5 stars without a doubt, Environment and decoration definitely 5 stars too, everything is so pink and sweet (if you are a girl who loves pink you will love it here) and 5 stars for cleanliness. I haven't been to this salon since I was in high school. Back then it was just for a pedicure so I did give it a better rating. I recently was in town and the nail salon I normally go to was closed for remodeling but the gel nail extensions I had reallllllyyyyy needed to come off. I figured I'd just come here because I'm sure they'd know what to do right? Wrong. I was the first customer that morning and I asked if they could take off my gel extension. The lady inspected my nails and asked me- 'gel?' I said, 'yes, gel extension- can you take them off?' She replied, 'honey those are just acrylics.' As I type this- I'm letting off a huge sigh because that was my first red flag since they were not your typical acrylics. Anyway, she sat me down and immediately started sanding away at the red gel- red gel dust was flying all over the place. She got finally got to the plastic tip and started inspecting my nails again. She asked me if I wanted to paint them and I said no but maybe a clear coat would be fine. She said okay- this will cost $15. I agreed to it and she started shaping my nails. I wasn't sure why she was shaping them because the plastic was still on there. Finally, she said- 'You come back next week. Your nails are too thin. It'll break if I take this off." Woaaah there. I told her that I didn't have the time to do that and to please take them off today. She started tutting and literally picking at the plastic that was GLUED ON. She then asked me, 'What is this?' I was so upset but stayed calm and told her, 'They're the plastic from the gel extension. The last time I took this off- they just did a wrap and then scraped it off.' Her friend got her a bowl of acetone and she began to soak my nails. I felt a little relieved until she took her drill out and started to use the drill to remove the soft polish. At one point she was sanding away for so long that my nail beg got hot and I had to ask her to stop because it hurt. At one point she began asking me where I got it and berating me for getting this done. 'This is very bad for your nails.' 'Your nails are very weak because of this.' 'You should never let her (that last manicurist I went to) do this to you again.' Really? On top of that, she told me she now needed to charge me $20 because it was 'very hard' to do this job. I won't be coming back here I'm afraid. TLDR; Had gel extensions and wanted to remove it, I was told they knew how- they didn't. She damaged my nails and some of them are transparent from her sanding away for too long. Don't bother coming here, there are plenty of other affordable places that know what they're doing. read more

For haircuts, this place should be a 6/5 - if you have Linda cut your hair. It's wonderful every time, and she is the sweetest lady of all time. Not to mention they're super affordable! My beef comes in with one of the manicurists. I went in to have my acrylics taken off, and expected to have them removed like every other nail salon on earth removes nails. With acetone and tinfoil and you sit there for a bit and wait for it to *painlessly* dissolve off. Instead, the woman used clippers and her nail to pry up the corners of the week old acrylics and rip the nails off one by one, even after I asked multiple times about the acetone, and she told me it would take too long (there was no one else in the shop waiting for a manicure...). Long story short, I passed out in their chair from the pain for a solid 10 minutes, and then still had to pay for the removal, despite passing out, and only getting through one hand. Keep in mind, my pain tolerance is decent. I have never passed out from pain before, so this was significant. Don't trust the nail techs, DO trust Linda. read more

First let me say I didn't get the lady who did my gel mani and pedi's name but she did a good job. But to the manager/owner she did such an awful job on my nieces full set(see pictures) the first thing I told her was these are awful and showing her all the nails that were messed up she kept shaking her head "no no they're fine it's because she bites her nails that's why" so I said because she bites her nails you cant apply acrylic nails correctly? Mind you we have never had problems at any other nail salon because she "bites her nails". so she proceeded to tell me "no no $41" there was a customer standing there listening in and I showed her the nails and she even said to the manager lady "what happened why are they like this?!" And the manager lady literally yanked her hand away from my nieces hand and told her "don't touch!!" And proceeded to say "I've been doing nails many many years! $41!" If you take pride in your work(since you said you've been doing nails for years) and appreciate your customers enough she could have owned up to it and just easily said hey your unsatisfued? come back another day and I will fix it. Candy is pretty much the default salon of all the older ladies in Temple City. If you want to go cougar hunting, come here. Parking: Shared lot with BofA and 99 cent store. Can be difficult to find parking during the weekend/after work. Service: Their mani-pedis are decently affordable, but their color selection is incredibly lacking. No China Glaze, OPI, Essie.. Maybe I'm spoiled by other salons. I also noticed that my nail technician did not clean the cuticle cutter before using it on my nails. MAJOR MAJOR RED ALERT. Not sure if she cleans it AFTER each time, but it's also just sitting there. I am hardcore about cleanliess and sanitation, and this place just doesn't do it for me. It also is very cluttered with a disheveled layout. I like getting my eyebrows waxed here from time to time because the lady that does them is super nice and thorough. She waxes in a private room away from the mess and loud conversation of the other technicians. Now that I have a nice stash of polish at home, I don't really spring for the $20 mani, but if I did, I'd rather pay a bit more and go elsewhere. read more

I used to go to Candy Nails in high school because I didn't know any better. Now, shame on me. I came here to get my gel nails taken off (the beautiful ones done by esNail) and the lady literally destroyed my nails. Granted my nails were soft already but her solution was acetone, cutting my nails really haphazardly AND peeling them off (OUCH). Then, since I was there, I figured I'd get my eyebrows waxed. $10 is decent..so I came back another time but she burned me! I'd rather pay a little more and go to Benefit or Ziba in the mall. The ladies I had sucked. I wanted a red bow on my ring finger in memory of my cousin who recently passed away, she kept trying to draw the bow and kept erasing it because she couldn't draw it. When she came to get them taken off instead of soaking the acrylics in acetone THEN removing them the lady just tore them off. Stopped by here on 4th of July. There was about 1 customer left in there, and I came right when they were having lunch, and were going to close at 1PM for Independence Day. The lady who did my pedicure did a great job. She was thorough and detailed in making sure everything was clean, and her massaging my feet was wonderful! She was soft and even-pressured, and best of all, she didn't try to buy and sell me stuff. She just did what I had asked for. I ended up choosing a pink color and two daisies for my toes - love it! One star off...the price was a bit pricier, especially since this place was a salon and nail salon about $4 more than other places, but my pedicure was beautiful, and so can't beat that. Here for Mother's Day. My mom, sister, and I waited 30 minutes to be able to sit together in the spa chairs. The matre d' told us one of us should go first assuring us that the two spots next to her would open up right away. So my mom went first. Another 10 minutes later they tell my sister and I to sit together... away from our mom, telling us they want everyone to be happy on Mother's Day. Are you kidding me? It was my sister and I together and my poor mom all the way on the other end by herself. We're not high maintenance people, and normally it wouldn't have been a big deal, but they explicitly assured us we'd be able to sit together and then split us up. If you were going to split us up anyway why on earth would you make us wait almost an hour??!? That's just irritating. The quality of the pedicures was ok, but the service put my mom in a sour mood for a few hours, so mission not accomplished. I know Krazy Nails isn't as big or nice as Candy Nails* but my lady there gets me and would try to make things work. And Krazy Nails now has three spa chairs which are the best spa chairs I've ever used. *None of these places are better than a 6 on a 10 scale; I'm just speaking relatively. read more

First time there and Will not be returning. Was just trying to save time since I had just gotten my facial done close by. Had a spa pedicure and gel manicure. Pedicure was fine but the manicure was horrible. The owner had told me to give her a few minutes to get a professional to do my manicure. I ask for French tip. She filed my nail after putting on the white tip then proceeded to add more white by dotting the not so white area. WTH. The clear coat came out spotty on almost all my nails. Never again. Worst pedicure. My cuticle was cut so deep it wouldn't stop bleeding. The nail attendant put acetone on it to stop the bleeding (which obviously felt awesome - ).This person gave such little care to my nails. At one point, they were supposed to massage lotion into my legs and forgot about it. I had a blob of lotion on my leg for like 10 min. I gave up and wiped it off. Go anywhere else. Even if the pedicure wasn't the worst, the place was so dirty. Not sure how it's still open. read more

I'm sad to write this review, as the ladies are so nice here, but I wouldn't go here again. The polish didn't last long and thank goodness it didn't! When I took the Polish off I saw that I'd developed toenail fungus. It had been feeling funny but I thought it was because the tech nipped the side of my toe. Looking back that's probably when I got the infection. I've never had any issue with my nails so this is very disappointing. The price may be low, but it wasn't worth it to leave with an infection. read more

I was recommended to go here, instead of my usual spot down the street, by my best friend. She doesn't really like nail art and never gets it while i, on the otherhand, love nail art. I went in for a full set and pedicure. The pedicure was nice except she really dug under my big toe nail and that was painful. My manicurist did an amazing job on the acrylics themselves and was very detail oriented about them. However when it came to the nail art itself it really wasnt as good as I had hoped. I showed her a picture of what I wanted (only in different colors) and it looks nothing like the picture at all. Overall I'm disappointed. If you want a simple color or traditional design this place is great. But if you want nail art find some place else. read more

She yelled for someone in the back. Another employee who was eating her lunch came out. She let me know she would help me in two more minutes. At 4:36 she said, are you getting your hair colored? I let her know I needed gel removal. She then said, let me find someone to help you. She then proceeds to yell for yet another woman eating her lunch who then tells me to wait again. this place recycles EVERYTHING, so you will end up with fungus on your nails and maybe even an infection. I hate this place. the owner rushes their workers there for they do an awful job just so that they can move on to another customer. customers be ware just because it looks clean or new don't mean the workers or the products are. read more

my go to nail salon! been coming here for acrylics ever since i started wearing them (about a year ago). all the ladies here are super nice and know me by face as "my mother's daughter" since my mom has been coming here for ages. they do a really nice job on my nails, though some better than others, but that's to be expected. usually they spend around 45-50min for fillings and 1hr for a new set. I've never felt rushed and that's important to me since I believe a salon trip should be relaxing and pampering. $15 for fillings and $20 for new set which is midrange but with nails you get what you pay for- many cheaper places will rush your nails like crazy and will leave you thinking you could've done them better yourself. one star off for the limited color selection, though sometimes they are nice enough to let me pick from the purchase display. i hope they aren't actually selling used polish though... read more

I try and go here with my gf Evey month since I play ball and get ingrown toe nails. I let a few ladies do my pedicure and out of them sandy is the best she took out a couple ingrowns and left my feet feeling like they can breath no pain afterwards now I like wearing sandals lol. I also have fungus on my big toe nail from cracking it in half from basketball and I can totally see the difference of it healing and so can my gf. It is big inside and they have massage chairs which me and my gf sit next to eachother and being a guy they know how to make you feel comfortable (Tina/sandy) so ladies if your man has jacked up feet make sure he see's sandy lol read more
