    Greek Salad
    Rebecca A.

Today at noon I went to Cane A Sucre with a coworker and the place was popping! I ordered the Greek salad and a water. The sauce for the salad was a little bit buttery but overall it was very good. The service was quick, super helpful and they brought your food to you after it is ordered at the counter. The place was very clean and had a happy vibe to it. Highly recommend! They were quick for us government workers that need to get back to work. :)

I work about a 10 minute walk from this cafe, so I often order the Cobb salad for lunch and I love it!! It's a combo so I get the Cobb salad with chicken and a drink for $18. It's a bit pricey for lunch but the salad is delicious Cute location if you eat in, however, I tend to order my food to go!

Lots of great food choices, easy access downtown, parking lot right next to it. Would recommend!

I've been coming to this place for years now as I work mainly in the DT area, and I've honestly thought that it's so consistent and good that it didn't need my review. But i decided to wrote one today because I was so impressed on a menu item I had not chosen before. So i chose the cranberry salad and it was everything I imagined. While i thought it was kind of pricey (abt $12) it is well worth it bc it can last you for two meals. All the ingredients were delish and paired well! Highly recommend!

    Roasted "Calabaza" Soup Du Jour

This is the second location I've been to and the service is super fast! Maybe it's because it's downtown but with the food being freshly made, I say it's a win! It's conveniently located across the street from my office and I love their sandwiches and soups. I wish they would have more options for the daily soup because they're all very good! Today I tried the roasted pumpkin soup as pictured. I was nervous because most pumpkin soups I have had are loaded with cream but this was a great balance with the actual pumpkin and whatever base they used. My only critique, is that it could've been way warmer than what it was. Maybe it isn't meant to be served hot but I wish someone would've said that. It was a little warmer than room temperature. I have a super sweet tooth so make sure to grab an almond croissant if they have any. Soooooo bomb!!!

    Delicious Cobb salad

Located right by the courthouse, this place is perfect for lunch. From the outside it seems really small, but it actually has some space to it. When you walk in you go straight up to order and take your number and pick a table and the food will be brought out to you. I was in the mood for a soup and Cobb salad that day and man did they deliver. The soup of the day was this delicious thick white carrot and mushroom soup, topped with spinach and cheese. It honestly made my day. The flavor was on point and with that creaminess to it can really fill you up. The Cobb salad was also great! It came with the typical Cobb salad ingredients and the portions were plenty. I left full and happy. I did look around, like a table stalker, to see what other people were having and their sandwiches look pretty enticing as well. Definitely a good stop for a quick meal.

Next time you're at the Dade County Court House or visiting the History Miami museum and want a quick but delicious lunch, then this is the place. They have a great half soup/ half sandwich deal with not just a cup but a bowl of soup and the half sandwich looks more like a full sandwich. They also serve breakfast starting at 7:30 AM. Great service and friendly staff, will be back again soon!

    El Marinero
    Cristina O.

I was working an event recently at Main Library downtown & a friend suggested ordering lunch froo m Cane á Sucre. I chose El Marinero (Albacore tuna tossed in a citrus aioli with vine-ripened tomatoes, hard boiled eggs and mixed greens). Now I'll admit... I am extremely picky with my tuna & few places live up to my expectation but this? THIS tuna is delicious! The baguette is spectacular & I love the addition of the thinlly sliced hard-boiled egg. SO good & huge! The half sandwich easily filled me up. I also ordered the Chocolate-Praline w/ whipped cream & berries coulis for dessert. The dense chocolate tart was ok but didn't taste "home made". Maybe is had been in the fridge too long? The raspberry coulis was absolutely delicious though & I definitely enjoyed the tart much more with it. Only wish there was more as the little pkastic container was only half full. As for the whipped cream? None to be found but no biggie. I loved the sandwich so much though that I ordered it again today for lunch. Definitely will order from here again as I have s feeling their soups are delicious. If your in the Downtown miami are for lunch, this place is well worth a try!

This is a tiny place with lots of character. I eat there on the covered area on the side, it's really pleasant with the brick texture walls and the plants it has an urban rustic vibe. I always order whatever the special of the day is and every time it does not disappoint. The salmon with mashed potato is amazing, it's tender & tasty and the presentation was quite nice. I also had a shrimp and salad that was spectacular, they packed so much flavor in the shrimp I think they marinated it, the salad was delicious and complemented the shrimp perfectly. I love this place

Broccoli Spinach soup and El Pollo Sandwich!
    Roda B.

Quite possibly my favorite place to grab lunch in Downtown Miami, the restaurant has practically perfected the three S's of lunch time: soup, salad, and sandwiches! A popular lunch spot, the highlight of this restaurant is the lunch combo special, where you can choose a soup/salad and 1/2 sandwich for about $8.50, which is a very reasonable price considering the quality and quantity of food you are getting. The daily soup is always a good go to item, and always taste fresh and so flavorful! The salad or soup that comes with the special isn't just a small cup, but a huge bowl, definitely filling! And the sandwiches, especially the ones on the hot baguette, are so good! I particularly love the El Pollo as well as the Le Fig sandwiches, such interesting combo of ingredients that work perfectly together. I have also tried their main specials, which also were good lunch items, and their daily quiche is very satisfying! What's also great about the restaurant is it is super quick! Food gets out to you so fast, and they know how to keep the place clean too for the next party to sit. It is a order then sit down type of service, but all the servers are friendly and help move things along. I've always walked to this restaurant, but I do admit parking might be difficult since there is only street parking and a small parking lot (metered). Other than that, every person I have brought to this restaurant has had nothing but positive reviews, and I'm sure you will do too!

For the most part, the food delivered. We shared several appetizers. The heirloom tomato dish with the saffron cracker was delicate, satisfying, and one of my favorite starters of the evening. The white asparagus was the only miss for me--it was overwhelmingly acidic and sour. The artichoke, however, was outstanding. The presentation was beautiful, and every bite seemed to wake up my palate. The standout dish of the night was the spaghetti with caviar and Parmesan foam. It's difficult to describe because the flavors and textures worked together in a way that needs to be experienced rather than explained. If I ever returned, this would be the dish I would order again without hesitation. For mains, I chose the bison while my husband ordered the duck. The duck was tender with crispy skin, though it wasn't his favorite. The bison was exceptional. Wrapped in a croissant-like pastry with earthy mushrooms and served alongside a rich red wine reduction, it was incredibly tender and melted in your mouth. The mushrooms retained their texture without becoming mushy, and the sauce complemented both the bison and the mashed potatoes beautifully. Dessert was another highlight. The Black Forest dessert had the most impressive presentation, resembling a mushroom and fitting the restaurant's artistic approach. While it was delicious, the chocolate soufflé special was our favorite. Soft, airy, and paired with ice cream, it was perfectly executed. Cocktails were surprisingly strong across the board. I ordered their signature Michelin Star cocktail and enjoyed it so much I had three. The matcha cocktail and skinny margarita were also excellent. The cucumber cocktail wasn't for us, but overall the bar program impressed. The atmosphere was interesting. The dining room felt heavily influenced by Japanese design, with deep red tones, an open kitchen, and bar seating that reminded me of an omakase counter. It was intimate without being stuffy, and tables were spaced far enough apart that conversations remained private. The music blended into the background perfectly and never competed with the dining experience. That said, I didn't find the seating particularly comfortable, and while the room was attractive, it didn't feel especially luxurious or uniquely Miami. Where the experience fell short was service and pacing. At one point, our waiter walked away while someone in our party was still speaking and ordering. More importantly, there were long gaps between courses. While I understand that fine dining is meant to be enjoyed slowly, the pacing felt excessive. By the time dessert arrived, we were more tired than excited. I even asked for the dessert menu when our mains arrived because I anticipated the wait, but was encouraged to wait and enjoy the meal first. One detail I genuinely appreciated was the farewell gift at the end of the evening. As we were leaving, the staff handed us branded L'Atelier bags containing a packaged brownie with orange zest and shaved almonds. We were told to enjoy it with our morning coffee the next day. It was a thoughtful touch and a nice way to extend the experience beyond dinner. At over $1,400 for four people including gratuity, value is where I struggle most. The food was very good, and we left satisfied, but some details didn't feel consistent with the price point or a two-star Michelin experience. The silverware showed noticeable wear, service wasn't flawless, and while we left full, the portions were understandably small. I don't regret spending the money, but I'm not sure I would spend it again. Ultimately, I think L'Atelier is worth visiting if you're specifically interested in experiencing Michelin-starred dining. However, if someone were visiting Miami for the first time and asked where to have one unforgettable dinner, I would probably recommend a restaurant that better captures Miami's scenery, atmosphere, and energy. I'm glad I experienced it, and there are a few dishes I still think about--especially the caviar spaghetti and the soufflé--but for me this was more of a "worth doing once" experience than a restaurant I would return to again and again.

Absolutely not worth it! The strawberry was pretty good. They were able to substitute the milk for coconut milk. They weren't able to substitute the foam for non dairy foam, so we got no foam. The tiramisu matcha was terrible. It tastes NOTHING like tiramisu. All they needed to do was make the mascarpone sweeter and thicker, and use sweetened condensed milk mix for the milk then soak the lady finger in espresso or sprinkle espresso on top. I was so disappointed it tasted like snot in a glass with matcha on top to me. The manager was very nice, she asked me if I liked it and I was honest with her she replaced my drink with a strawberry matcha. They took forever getting my strawberry matcha to me, it was getting busy but our server never came back to our table to give me my new drink. He was awful. Let me start with the steak frites. I can appreciate the fries weren't thick cut or anything. This was a plus and I'll explain why shortly. That steak was SUPER tender and juicy. Those fries quickly absorbed those flavors. Additionally, they served it with some sauces and let me say I don't really like steak sauces or anything but what they had was just icing on what was already a beautiful cake.
