We finally made a reservation to try this spot over the weekend. We had a nice, quiet table in the back. We enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere-a very tropical and fun tiki bar. My pina colada with toasted coconut rum was delicious and so smooth! I had the dynamite shrimp with fried rice- excellent with a little kick. Hubby had the chicken lettuce cups-also very good. Terrible service! We drove in from out of town to come here and arrived at 9:07PM and they close at 10:00PM. We were told as we entered the door that they don't serve food anymore the kitchen is closed and drink service closes in 10 minutes????? Really! Congratulations on giving the worst service in Paso Robles and then you call yourself a Tiki Bar! Let's start with ambiance. Very trendy, inviting and beautiful! The service was amazing! We didn't have reservations so we sat at the bar. This was entertaining in itself. These bartenders were amazing. Their cocktails are were like cocktail artwork. Different doesn't describe! Tasty even more. The food was over the top delicious. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps. Have had these so many times in San Diego but nothing compares. We shared the Mongolian beef plate, again was amazing. We were getting ready to leave after a long day of traveling we're just exhausted. We both decided we needed one more of those amazing drinks! A cute tiki bar serving delicious Polynesian food! This place has very potent drinks, we had one cocktail each and realised drinks were pretty strong and liked it. Vegetarians have very limited options. The only option they had for food was spicy beans and fried rice. Spicy beans 5/5 - it is a must try food here. A big serving of spicy beans with some crunchy garlic. Perfect to snack on crunchy and spicy. Pork potstickers 4/5 - crispy, filled with pork ! The outer layer was thin and made crispy. Really nice but the pork lacked a little flavour. It was s decent Fried rice - 5/5 both veg and chicken fried rice was cooked to perfection. Less oil and a lot of flavours. We also order a side of the spicy sauce. Dynamite shrimp - 5/5 shrimp cooked to perfect served on a bed of white rice. Shrimp was a little sweet spicy. Really nice. It was so spicy and added the adequate spice to our food. Cocktails we had zombie, scorpion and a few more. Very potent and strong. The service was fast, the staff is really friendly. This is a dog friendly place and the place has a little Hawaiian vibes to it. Decorated like a tiki bar with wooden bars ! Truly bad service. We were told 15 minutes for the waitlist. 2 hours later we finally got the text. Don't bother unless you have a reservation. While we waited in the entrance way- a pushy woman with no reservation bullied her way to a single bar seat and then 10 min later her two friends arrived and the hostess gave them seats while we just stood there. Was surprised to find a tiki bar in wine country, such a treat. The best part of the evening was the genuine friendliness of the employees. Service was nonstop with a smile. Portions were large and food was very good. Drinks were original in taste and presentation. To top it off our bill came in an over sized sea shell. Came down with some friends on a Friday night, got on the list for a table, waited half an hour. The hostess told me the table was almost ready. As we were waiting a group of three young girls showed up, asked how long the wait was... was told they were after us by the hostess.... one of the girls turned to the other two and said, "oh don't worry I know the manage owner! He's the guy behind the bar pouring drinks!" A few moments later they sat the three girls at our table that the hostess showed us was being cleaned for us. We had to wait another 30+ minutes after they gave our table away for another table to open up. Really bummed about the service and the way they do business because I like the vibe and the drinks. We were excited to try the place on our weekend, but unfortunately the whole experience was a bummer from the get go. We waited around over a hour to get a table, and did order some drinks and food, which were well designed and made well by the bar staff, but all in all we 4 decided we won't be coming back. For me as a small business owner in Paso, it just wasn't the kind of experience I would choose to have again, with so many options in town. UPDATE - I came back and changed the review up from a 1 to a 3 because our server was awesome, and super nice and attentive and helpful. My first drink was very strong and medicinal tasting, luckily my wife switched with me and I enjoyed her drink a lot more. Got the Doctor Cortex next and it was more to my taste. Ordered the chicken bowl with no chicken, it was good, needed some spice, had to pay $1 for a homemade hot sauce that was delicious but VERY spicy. It would be nice if they had an option to sub tofu, not a whole lot for vegetarians on the menu and definitely not Vegan friendly. Service was ok, nothing wrong in our order or rude but not overly friendly or attentive either. Decor is great, lots of little touches all around to look at, music that was playing did not go with the vibe though. I would definitely go back and try more of the drinks on the menu. read more

Any tiki bartender (or tiki bar) that doesn't know what navy grog is should not be allowed to serve, nor should the establishment classified a tiki bar. Our bartender was dismissive at best, slightly rude, at worst. That said, the decor is incredible, the drinks are decent, and the food is meh (and overpriced). My wife and I had high hopes, being tiki bar fanatics from LA, but this place set us back close to $125 - before tip - for two cocktails, two non alcoholic cocktails, and some appetizers. We might give it another shot at some point, but we were both underwhelmed. read more

SPEAKING PRIMARILY ABOUT THE HOSTESS -- We arrived at 9pm, was told there's a 15 minute wait and "we close at 10pm" despite Yelp hours stating they close at 11pm. Okay that's fine. We wait out in front for about 20 minutes, we see another couple walk up and the hostess immediately take them inside while we were standing right there?? About 10 minutes later we get a text saying our table was ready, at this point they told us they aren't serving food anymore and instead just drinks. Why were we not told this in the beginning so I wouldn't have even wasted my time? Poor communication and poor instructions by the hostess. read more

Went in there with plan to have a few drinks and dinner, had one drink and left. I took 10-12 minutes to get a drink sitting at the bar. The female bar-back was grumpy and not friendly at all. Drinks are to damn sweet with way too much sugar. They need to learn how to balance a cocktail. I asked for a Chi Chi and they had no idea what that was. WTF? A self proclaimed Tiki Bar and they don't know what a Chi Chi is? Lame. All he had to do was Google Chi Chi and learn a new Tiki Drink. The Chi Chi is a vodka spin on the Piña Colada. As far as tiki bars go - this one is pretty okay. We stuck to drinks which we enjoyed, but having visited tiki bars around the US this one doesn't stand out. Fun time, in town for a weekend with my wife, decide we were going to try out something a little different, not disappointed. Drinks were spot on, you don't have to go Tiki, they have a full bar with a talented barkeep. Food was pretty damn good, we shared a couple of different items, LOVED the green beans, not for the faint of heart, SPICY!!! Wife has the ramen, she loved that as well. What a great new place!! The theme is so fun, that I half expect the pirate Jack Sparrow to come walking in for a cold one!! Some might find the drink prices a little higher than some other local establishments. That said, the drinks are unique, delicious and definitely pack a punch in terms of potency. You'd pay similar prices in Hawaii and Las Vegas, yet get a watered down beverage for your money--that won't be your experience here. There are some cocktails that can be ordered and shared with others, which I expect to try on future visits (and there will definitely be future visits)! They also serve food (pupu plates). We did not eat there, but saw food going out to nearby tables. Everything looked amazing, and everyone seemed to empty their plates. Planning to try the food next time around, maybe with a shared 'punch bowl' with my honey. I can't recommend this place enough....VERY fun! read more

We were really excited to try out this restaurant. Super cute decor especially for Christmas and the food was delicious. However, the service was not there. We sat at the bar and could hardly get 1 of the 3 bartenders to take our order. We were practically begging them to take our money but it's almost like they were trying hard not to talk to anyone. I think the young barback kid was probably the most talkative. Every thing was amazing, but this place lacked hospitality. When our food arrived no one asked us how everything was or if we needed anything else. We had to flag down a waitress to bring us silverware. Such a cool and fun Tiki restaurant/bar. You wouldn't expect to see a Hawaiian theme with entertaining talking tikis in front bar. The drinks are all very unique and delicious to try. I recommend to order their punch bowl with fire presentation but you will need 2-4 people for that. The bartender really put tons of alcohol which is great for pricing. The chicken kabob and chicken Asian salad were so delicious. This place is definitely top bar in Paso Robles that must check out. read more

This place is pretty cool. I love a good theme for a bar and this was everything.l from decor to drinks to food. The service was a little slow but everything else was spot on. The drinks we had were all so tasty, refreshing and the perfect amount of alcohol to mix with the right amount of spice. The food was also on point. We started with the pork or chicken lettuce wraps which we delicious. Then we shared the tartar, Mongolian beef and firecracker shrimp. Be careful is spice isn't your thing as for no chilis on your dish. I like spice but this was a joke new level for me. My friend asked no chili on the beef but I forgot for the shrimp. This was our 2nd time visiting Cane Tiki Room. The first time was right after they were open and we were not impressed. However this last time was different. The cocktails are delicious and have a kick. The food was wonderful. We split several dishes and all were good. Our favorite was the Mongolian beef. It was made with Snake River beef which has a really fabulous flavor. We've noticed that several of the higher end restaurants in the area serve it. The service was excellent. Very sweet and attentive employees and our food arrived quickly. We'll definitely be going back. The only things I would change if it were my restaurant is that I would play Hawaiian music once in a while if not the whole time to help customers get in the mood of a Polynesian restaurant. I would also have the employees wearing Hawaiian clothes. The black and white garbs that the waitresses wore just takes away from the atmosphere. read more

Come early or when you have time to wait. We waited over an hour for a table, and started doubting our decision to wait. But we were glad we did. Delicious drinks, fantastic service. A few standouts: I love how they upfront told how much alcohol was in each drink (from 0 to 4 skulls). Very impressed with this little spot! Very cute inside and drinks were great and so was the food. Ignore all the reviews of complaining the food is bland- they must have Covid and lost their taste buds, because I thought the fried rice was very flavorful and even had a little spice to it! The firecracker shrimp was VERY spicy as well- our friend who has been several times mentioned it's never been so spicy so perhaps they've read reviews and added more. It was very good but a little much for me! We also had the GIANT egg rolls and Mongolian beef. It was all sooo good and we had plenty left over for our friend to take home. Our server was so kind and perfectly attentive - I finished our water jug and he arrived with a fresh one SECONDS later!! The hostess was also so great! We were early with our friend arriving later and we asked her how to go about putting our name in for the right timing. She assured us that we'd get in no problem, even for a Saturday night.
