Great service, good presentation, pretty bad food. Our pancake was the chewiest thing I have ever had. The Country fried steak was like a hockey puck (we sent it back and the new one wasn't much better). The hashbrowns were undercooked, and our coffee was clearly old. On the plus side, the waitress was very nice. First visit here! Hubby and I got up early on a Sunday morning and hit this newer spot around 7:30am. There was clientele already there which was a good sign this early for a new place. I liked the industrial yet simple decor. Bar area has many purse hooks and charging outlets, and you don't see that often. Not huge but they do have an area good for large parties (big group was there). We enjoyed the food, especially the churro waffles... even though the syrup provided was pretty bland... but it didn't deter! House coffee and OJ was average. Service was...ok. Our waitress (older lady in her 40s/50s) had an unfriendly scowl on her face and VERY standoffish dry as if she didn't want to serve us... this continued for the first half of our visit. Second half she ignored us so I solicited another so we were attended by someone else more pleasant, but then at the end the 1st scowl waitress came back with the check and was suddenly full of fake overly bubbly to the point of eye-rolling nauseousness... and that's a huge turnoff for a tip. My husband and I stopped in to try something new for brunch. This place came up on yelp with only a few reviews, but we thought why not. We typically head to Kekes because appreciate their variety of options of omelets, eggs Benedict and pancakes. However, hands down I would come back here for pancakes and omelet options (no eggs Benedict options, but not needed). My husband had a buffalo chicken omelet, while I had goats in the garden with hashbrowns. Then we shared a pineapple upside down pancake. It was perfect. This little spot served its purpose. The food was good; highly underrated Is the continental platter. The muffins, croissants and banana bread were freshly baked warm-give this underdog a try. I know that everyone just talks about the cinnamon bun but I like a little variety. This a new cafe less than a half mile from our apartment. The service here is good and the food is good with reasonable prices. I had the Meat Lovers Omelette and it was delicious. The coffee here is pretty good too. We were told it would be a 30-35 minute wait and it was only 10 minutes before the buzzer started going off so that was a nice surprise. If they can keep this kind of service up they'll be a Brandon favorite for sure. I had the delicious peanut butter cup short stack pancakes and the - The Roger, a corn beef hash skillet. My sister had the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. My pancakes did not lack peanut butter or chocolate, and were moist. I could have eaten them without syrup, but the syrup and whipped cream topped them off well. My skillet was okay. It lacked some seasoning with the vegetables and corn beef, however some salt and pepper jazzed it up a bit. My sister stated her chicken sandwich was very good- the bun was visibly buttered well even from my point of view. She stated it was a well-prepared chicken breast. We ate at the canopy road cafe for brunch after reading such high reviews on Yelp. The place is very sleek inside however the food wasn't what everyone raved about. I order the sausage gravy, biscuits, eggs and hashbrown and my fiance ordered the roger with home fries. My meal overall was ok. The eggs and biscuits were good but the gravy tasted liked it came straight from a can without an additional seasoning (even salt and pepper cldnt save it), the hashbrowns were very oily and a little underdone for my liking. My fiance also thought her dish was okay, she said it was a little salty but the home fries were pretty darn good. The absolute worst customer service but they make up for it with good food. Walked in and was told by the hostess that it would be a 30 minute wait because they had no tables open. Looked around and there were 3 and asked him to take a look himself. They are a lazy bunch of teenagers just there for a check. The servers were a similar situation. Our server had a piss poor attitude and couldn't explain items on the menu and was totally dismissive about it instead of trying to find the answers from a manager or something. We also watched people be seated and had to get up and find their servers after waiting 15 minutes or more. They seemed to be more interested with their phones than doing their jobs. My first visit here was OK, could have been better. 2nd was flawless. 2nd visit: Higher ranking. We arrived before the Sunday rush and sat at the bar. I ordered a hot chocolate and Monteray omelette. I was also offered a refill, did not get that on the first visit. All in all I would say this is now our preferred breakfast location. Timing is everything, get there before 10 on Sundays. 1st visit: Could have been a 3.5 or 4 star. Was a 3. The decor is very clean and nice, service was friendly and efficient. We sat at the bar, I felt like I was in Cheers where everyone knows you. There was a slight mix up with my omelette, as soon as I brought it to the attention of our server it was dealt with politely and quickly. Basically, I was given the wrong omelette and toast. The new omelette was brought out swiftly, but they forgot my toast. My waistline is thanking them for forgetting, and my belly is glad they forgot. I would have reminded them to bring my toast, but would not have been able to eat it anyway as I was too full. I ordered hot chocolate, I was not offered whipped cream. Again, my waistline was not complaining. But it would have been nice to have been asked. That said, nothing to complain about, we got there before it got too busy and I would not hesitate to go back and try again. It is a close toss up between Canopy and Egg & I for different reasons. I don't care for breakfast at Kiki's. Canopy gets my vote, Egg & I gets his. read more

The food started off so amazing, the service was on point & we thoroughly enjoyed having a fresh, new breakfast place to frequent. We voiced our displeasure & were sure to come back another time in hopes that it was just an off day. Unfortunately, we have been disappointed again. Today we ordered the blueberry almond French toast, with a side of hash browns & crispy bacon. The French toast was ordered without almond slices & instead it came only with blueberry compote. The French toast tasted like toast lathered in beaten eggs, the bacon was sent back for being raw & still came back without being extra crispy. The biggest upset was the side of hash browns that resembled burnt skin. The picture below shows the hash browns uneaten. They were inedible & so hard to swallow, it actually hurt my teeth & throat. All in all, I wish the food would get back to its original way. I won't be back for a while because I've been disappointed not once, but twice. Took a group here for brunch and they were disappointed they could not get an alcoholic beverage/mimosa. Perfect brunch spot! My friend and I split the basket o biscuits which was SO fresh and tasted amazing with the honey. Next, I had the funky monkey pancakes which were TO DIE FOR. They had the perfect amount of powdered sugar and bananas, and the pancake was huge. We found this new place from Tallahassee, that opened here and decided to try it for breakfast. OUTSTANDING! We started with a cinnamon roll.....both agreed it was wonderful.
