Oh man... I've been going to the Canton Cook restaurants since I was 8 or 9. I am now in my 30s and go to the newly opened Marietta area location. You can never go wrong with the Seafood Chow Fun (dry), egg drop soup (the wonton chips are super crispy), salted fish fried rice (with or without chicken) and sautéed snow pea leaf in garlic. Anything on the menu is probably the best Cantonese food you'll ever have in Georgia (the Sandy Springs location is the original). Ambiance is typical sit down Chinese restaurants but service is phenomenal. read more

We won't be back. After a couple trips to this local restaurant we noticed an increase in price. This last visit I compared my receipt of over $50 for 2 entrees and a drink to the menu and the prices charged were much higher than the menu - several dollars on each entree. I tried to show the waitress the issue and she pretended like she didn't understand. Thats not an ethical practice to follow and it put a really bad taste in my mouth. I understand it was a few dollars but again, it's in principal and then pretending like they didn't understand was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. read more

I've seen this new location often as I live nearby but never saw it opened until recently. Not sure when they moved but they certainly have a following! The place was jam packed on a Saturday night. The staff was AMAZING which makes me want to give 5 stars but the food wasn't my favorite. Nothing wrong with it but I'm from up north and totally picky about my Chinese food so getting a 4 star rating from me is pretty difficult in this category. For dinner we had the lo mein and crab Rangoon's. Both were fairly tasty, I wasn't a big fan of the angel hair style noodles. They were attentive in their service beyond measure. I'll probably go back simply because of the service and the fact that it's super close to home. read more

on my first visit to Canton Cook we had a early dinner this Sunday, The restaurant was busy and the wait staff service was excellent. I ordered and egg roll, pork fried rice and beef with broccoli. while waiting for my food I looked around to see what other patrons were eating. All portions were surprisingly large. My egg roll was perfectly stuffed and fried, the Pork fried rice had large slices of roasted pork, this dish was enough for 3 people, delicious. the beef and broccoli was tasty and enough for 3 people. I left stuff and happy, can't wait to return to try other dishes. I'm a New Yorker and this was the closest to NY Chinese food I've tasted in over 10: years. The food was so fresh and amazing! A lot of food vs what you paying. The ambiance was fine, great for business casual, and family-friendly. The attention to detail with service always came to check on us and refilled our drinks. Better than average Chinese food. We placed a call in order and it was ready in less time than they said and they were packed with to go and dine-in orders. The lo mein use super thin noodle. Not quite Mei fun type noodles. But they had a weird undercooked and overcooked texture and taste. The same noodles were used in the wonton noodle soup. And that was undercooked. Also, wontons were a mixture of shrimp and pork. Was not expecting that. Absolutely delicious! Love the family style seating with the lazy Susan to share meals for party's of 8 or more. Enjoyed the way you have multiple people serving you as you finish one item they are being the next! We got the gourmet dinner for two and it could feed 4-5 depending how hungry you are. Started with soups, wonton and sizzling rice, then hot fresh chicken wings, my husband got the Moo goo gai pan with steamed rice and I got General Taos chicken with friend rice. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this could not be more true by what was being shared on Nextdoor this week. A small golden retriever puppy for sale ($500) at Canton Cook in Marietta in a cardboard box (no water, toys, blanket - no comfort provided whatsoever). As if this wasn't bad enough, it was also shared that the eight week old puppy had no shots, no deworm, and had never been to the vet. This puppy has since been rescued - a member of the community paid the $500 fee (I call it ransom) and the puppy will now go to rescue. I hope anyone considering supporting this establishment will reconsider. read more

I have only done takeout but I think I have finally found good Chinese in the Marietta area (and maybe all of metro Atl). Reminds me of NY and what I loved was instead of throwing 2or 3 sauce packets in your bag, when you pick up, they point you to the sauce packs, utensils and chopsticks so you can help yourself. It's about what you typically get from an Americanized Chinese place. Nothing stood out as great, nothing was terrible. I'll eat here again but people need to understand what to expect when they eat here. Came here because of the 4 stars! This was Terrible!! I got Pepper Steak and Hubby got General Tso. 1st the Pepper Steak had a layer of oil surrounding the gravy sauce. Disgusting! The meat was chewy couldn't even eat it. Hubby's General Tso was so damn Spicy had to send it back. The waiter did make him a new one less spicy, but still very spicy. I have had this restaurant on my must-do list for a long time, we just never made it down to Sandy Springs...but they came to us in East Cobb! We had a wonderful meal. started with Hot &Sour Soup. Rich broth and perfectly hot and sour! Entrees were MuShu Pork and Mongolian Beef. The MuShu were a plate of 4 already rolled w/hoisin sauce. Well filled and lots of pork. Last one may be a midnight snack tonight. Mongolian Beef was as good as we have had. Just sweet enough with plenty of beef. We have plenty for leftovers. Really looking forward to that! I was hoping for a good experience so i could five four stars, but i can honestly give only two. The service was non-existent. The waitress took the order but never came back to check. I wanted hot tea, but she disappeared. The General Tso chicken had a heavy bland sauce and the Pepper Steak was bland as well. I usually love sweet & sour soup, but the soup there was thick and tastless. There was only one song playing that played over and over and over, so annoying! That was my first and only visit. My internet groups were abuzz when this location opened so I had to try it. Unfortunately I found it pretty disappointing. Chicken Pad Thai: no peanuts whatsoever. No scallions or eggs were there either. Instead of the usual vegetables there were a few large carrot medallions. The chicken was limited amongst a ton of noodles. I tasted a lot of lime in one spot but there was no lime wedge. I mixed it up but nothing ever really came together. Definitely not even a little bit good and it's not like the portion is actually generous - it's just a lot of noodles. Chicken Lo Mein: Some sort of Asian noodle dish but unlike anything else I've had with the same name. The noodles were thinner than angel hair spaghetti. Lo mein is supposed to be a soft noodle that's not fried. This was more like chow mein. Once again the veggies were super sad. Just a bit of cabbage and the same thin carrot slices. Also a shitton of noodles, almost no (very low quality) chicken and it was clumpy like the sauce wasn't mixed in. Someone else ordered a shellfish noodle dish that also was ok, not great. The one star is for the snow pea leaves with garlic. Those were great! Flavorful, cooked perfectly. But I wouldn't go back. The cost isn't low - $15 per dish. My husband and I have been waiting for 6 months for this place to open up. Finally we got the chance to try it. I would have to say this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Marietta/Kennesaw area. They had the Best eggrolls I have ever had out here in GA I believe there was only cabbage in them but they were fresh and flavorful. The shrimp fried rice was flavorful and the hunan chicken was nice, other than the exception that there was no broccoli. The only thing that was disappointing was their lo mein. The noodles are thin almost like ones you would find in a ramen or wonton soup. The service was excellent as well. We will definitely be returning. Other thing is that the sign had previously said they would be open until 2am however the closing time was taped over so not sure what time they close at now. read more

I've gone to Canton Cooks in Sandy Springs for over 15 years and have always love the food there. My wife and I tried out the new location tonight and ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Both were excellent and very healthy tasting. The service was prompt and very professional. I was glad to see that they serve the sliced oranges at the end as well. Definitely 5 stars and the best Chinese food in the city. read more

We've only ever done takeout from here before, but tonight, we decided to dine in. It hadn't gotten busy yet, but I can see it getting too loud when it's full of people, as others have said. The food was good as usual: we had hot and sour soup, egg rolls, General Tso's, and chicken fried rice. I can't get over how large the egg rolls are and I like that the General Tso's here actually has a little heat. My one complaint is that they refused to give us more than one box for our leftovers. With the portions as large as they are and no options for a smaller size, it's stingy. We managed to cram most of it in the single box we were allowed, but I don't like paying for food and then leaving it to be thrown away. There were three of us, and I'm not sure what we would have done if we had been a larger party. I guess we'll either bring our own carry out dishes next time (lol) or stick with take out where they'll give you as many boxes as needed! read more

The best all around, got everything, tons on the plate, you won't ever leave hungry Chinese food from heaven. I've been all over Georgia and America but their sauces alone are top, top shelf. Portions are stupid large / I always get 2 meals from takeout dinner entrees. I have tried maybe 20 items across the proteins, and I have yet to be even mildly disappointed.
