The steak was cooked to perfection with a perfect amount of seasoning. The chicken wasn't dry, it was tender and juicy! The servers worked as a team to make sure all tables were taking care of. Those are the three things you have to try, the 1/2 chicken, 1/2 kilo skirt steak with grilled grilled onions and queso fundido with chorizo. It filled three hungry men, so I say it's good enough for 4 people. We were too full for dessert. However, will definitely be coming back. My favorite spot to eat a medium well marinated flank Monterrey style! In the heart of Pilsen area there is this not so big but awesome Mexican restaurant! It is my usual spot when I'm in Chicago because this is the only place within 4 states that has this unique marinated flank, flour tortillas (not from wholesale stores) and real charro beans. Be prepared to wait about 30-40 minutes if you arrive later than 1pm but it will be worth it! No alcohol is sold inside but you can bring your own there is a liquor store like 4 doors away. We were a group of 5 people and we add just one guacamole and it was enough but if you are very hungry ask for flan or tres leches cake it was delicious! And the kitchen looks like it's completely engulfed in flames, which results in an out-of-this world, wood-fired meat paradise. It's obnoxiously loud with Mexican music blaring from what seems like very low-end boom boxes strategically placed everywhere, plus tons of large parties celebrating all kinds of special occasions, but I don't care. The service is okay-ish, the restaurant is not spectacularly fancy or even comfortable for that matter with it's impractical small round "rustic" (aka bumpy/uneven) tables all pushed together, but I don't care. I'm like an animal when it comes to eating here bc the Arrachera (skirt steak) is that good. AND the fried cheese is also a must. Shrimp tacos were also really good. This is a local gem! Super reasonable prices and they serve family style. Their carne asada is sold by the kilo with all the fixings, and is so tasty. My husband had the arrachera, I had sabinas tacos, and we took an order of steak fajitas to go for my mom. Coming from CA, the last thing I expected was BOMB Mexican food in chicago, but this place blew my mind!!! Ordered the shrimp tacos with a side of rice and everything was so delicious!! The shrimp was juicy and the marinade was soooo flavorful. It paired perfectly with the toppings in the taco! The rice was also really moist and flavorful! First time there- as you walk in there is no sign that states " wait to be seated". So we just stood by the entrance, at least 4 different waiters made eye contact with us but not one word. This was my second time here and it didn't disappoint. We found parking on the side street. It was busy when we walked in but was seated right away. Majority of the tables were round so if you had a group of 4 or more they would put two round tables together. I think the round tables may have been a thought so more seating in the restaurant. But nonetheless we didn't have to worry. Chips and salsa, always a good free munchie! The chips were warm and 3 different salsas were given. Green salsa - a bit spicy but the right amount of heat for me. Red salsa a little less heat but good as well. Pico de Gallo with cactus - this was mild but my favorite. I mixed the red and green salsa to tame down the spiciness. We almost finished the basket. Then out came our skewers. They were hot and inviting. So tender and flavorful with the right amount of seasoning. The meat was tender and the small size tortillas made every bite tasty and wanting more. I would even just make a taco with the grilled peppers and onion. They do a great job. Then we had the Sabinas Tacos with grilled skirt steak. This time the tacos were filled more than last. The meat, beans and cheese all melted together when you bite into it. This would be a nice takeout meal. Not sure if it's the start of the holiday but the wait was out the door again. Very disappointed with this place. Bad attitudes, bad organization and to top it off bad food. I ordered today 2kg of arrachera and I asked to please make it well done. The lady told me 30mins, and they still had my dad waiting for 25mins after the 30 mins. Came home to very under cooked and very fatty meat. I called and asked for the manager, I talked to Daniel and told him I asked for well done meat and it was very under cooked and he had a terrible attitude. I get he couldn't do anything unless I brought it in but his attitude was uncalled for. Not once did he offer an apology for the mishap. I'm by midway I was not about to go back. Came here with my boyfriend who is from NL so we were excited to support this Mexican restaurant with Northern Mexico influences I ordered the "skirt steak" tacos and my boyfriend ordered the tacos Sabinas. The tacos I ordered tasted like regular taco meat on a regular milagro tortilla. Similar to what you would find at any other taco spot, but the Sabinas tacos were really good quality meat (rib eye and other meats) super tender on what I believe to be home made flour tortillas. This pains me to write this, but well Canton Regio needs to figure some things out. I like the BYOB aspect but by not having a bar it gets VERY crowded. We went in on Friday , 2/21/20 for supper and came in at 8:30. We were told a 30 minute wait, okay cool it's a weekend. At 9:10 we were told it would be another 30-35 minutes because they were busy with parties. Now that is where I get irritated. We waited for 40 minutes crammed up front and then were told another 30-35 minutes, not cool. If you don't take reservations, you can't give all your tables away to 3 large parties and every else can kick rocks. Not good business at all. I hate writing negative reviews but that is just bad practice. So we left after an hour plus of waiting. I may go back, may not. This left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

The cost of it is very reasonable too. This restaurant even has their own parking lot which is amazing for it being in Pilsen on 28th street! My only critic is they need to improve in their seating system.. it's horrible.. we have to wait over an hour and then when we come they tell us another 30 minutes. I think the restaurant is small for the amount of clientele. Even the tables are very close to each other.
