5/21/21 at 8:00 PM We just had the most awkward experience walking into this establishment. The hostesses were posing, sticking their butts out (literally), stared at us the whole catwalk from the front door to the hostess stand, as we approached them to be seated, they all simultaneously looked away with a hair flip like they're girls being approached at a bar. It made us so uncomfortable that we just left. Wouldn't recommend. This is a random town in Orlando, not West Hollywood. read more

We had a great dinner on Easter Sunday. The food was great. We had the lamb chops, salmon, burger and fried rice with ribs. Everything was hot except for my friends burger which she had their several times. The waitstaff was quick and the atmosphere at the time we ate was nice. The view is incredible, I also enjoyed the Lakeside Collins and the meatball Wellington. Unfortunately, the mussels were fishy. Neither one of us wanted to eat them. Took my boyfriend for his birthday and it was both of our first time. I've heard about this place from social media, brunch, and their famous garden. Is an elegant atmosphere. Great for date nights. The drinks were amazing, my boyfriend had the Strawberry Bourbon Lemonade which was the strongest drink they had is what our waiter said. We believed it because after the 2nd drink he was feeling it. I had the Nona sunset which is a little bitter but tastes like juice. I had 4 cups which didn't do anything to me. I did also eat a lot of carbs. We ordered 2 different appetizers they were big portions. We got full just from appetizers. Overall good portions, good drinks, and worth every penny. We had previously visited Canvas multiple times with fantastic meals each and every time. It had become a favorite of ours! This last visit changed that. We went for brunch and were met with a measly brunch menu, and ordered the steak hash and pancakes. The hash included reheated, old steak, and lacked flavor. The pancakes were basic and underwhelming. They removed some fan favorites of the old menu, which were sorely missed. Overall the service was great, but this new menu didn't live up to the standards previously set. Bummer; as we don't feel we have incentive to return. read more

Went to Canvas with 7 friends and family members to celebrate my new marriage. The server gave us a round of champagne on the house which was extremely generous. All of us ordered a different item and each entree was delicious. They were all so flavorful, unique and very fairly priced! The location of the restaurant is in the central residential area of Lake Nona with lakeside views. The decor was great especially for sunset. This place also had a coffee bar and a reputable breakfast/brunch service that I will come back to enjoy. I highly recommend Canvas, great location, food, pricing and customer service! read more

What a sweet gem in Lake Nona. You walk up to their gorgeous stained glass art installation and their funky metal fence and then you walk into this huge, modern, airy space to eat and drink and collaborate! The front room is a coffee shop and a market place, they have couches to sit and sip your coffee or read a book with a gorgeous view of the lake. Once you're in the restaurant you're transported into this beautiful colorful warm space, their look is woody and industrial with modern tones. We were seated on the screened in porch so we got a lovely breeze and view of the lake for lunch. They have indoor, outdoor, screened, and bar seating- so anyone who comes can find a place to belong. They even have dog seating outside where you can sit and eat with your pup! Onto the food- I ordered the Cesar salad and it looks small but it was so filling. I absolutely love (and am stealing) how they built their salad, the took the hearts to lettuce bunches and served the salad in a more solid piece rather than chopped up. They have a homemade roasted garlic dressing that is worth the salad alone. My mom got the margarita flatbread which has huge chucks of fresh tomato and mozzarella on top- it was perfect. My boyfriend tried the canvas BBQ burger and it was a little over cooked but he enjoyed the flavor. Their fries were super tasty- they looked so plain but when you take a bite they turn out to be perfectly seasoned. My family and I went to this restaurant for Sunday Brunch this week. So, this review is for that menu and experience. First off, Canvas is beautiful inside. There's a lot of wood, and a lot of glass . The views through all of that glass are awesome. Here's a quick breakdown of the food we had: 1. My wife's Cuban Sandwich- "Amazing". 2. Older Daughter's Seasonal Pancake with Peaches and Blueberries... "YUMMMM! " 3. My younger daughter, a pickier eater, loved her simple Side of Sausage Patties. ( There weren't a lot of Choices for Kids on this menu, but she LOVED what she got. ) 4. My Chilaquiles was UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. And it's technically GLUTEN FREE. Now it's cooked in a frier that sees other, non-GF food in it, but I am "gluten intolerant", not Celiac, so I have no issues with "cross contamination". So this was perfect for me. So good! 5. Two words- Bottomless Mimosas. That's all I need to say. Finally, I WOULD tell you to ask for Phillip the server, because he was so great. The burger was a bit greasy and the sangria was just OK. I usually love their brunch, my favorite is the Lobster Roll. I've had the Benedict and Steak & Eggs which were good as well. Where do I even start from? This place was one the highlight of the trip in Orlando, Fl. If I do go back to visit guess what I am doing first? Going back to this amazing restaurant!! Let me start first how amazing generous and friendly stuff is. Everyone was so welcoming, didn't mind if you took forever to order or not, suggested and gave even more amazing feedbacks about the menu as well. I ended up ordering Lobster pasta which looked so good but for some reason didn't really set well with me and guess waiter noticed it and told me to order something else that was on the house; I I didn't mind paying more or difference but he insisted and he even picked lobster pasta for me to go. I ended up getting pan fried salmon and I couldn't ask for more. Food was definitely amazing overall and so delicious, down to the desert of cheesecake, place itself is located by the water, at night specially looks even more amazing and whole cozy atmosphere creates such a romantic and gorgeous place for a night out. Again, our server definitely met every expectation and deserved all the tip we left for him. If you live in Orlando and are close by here what are waiting for? When I sent my husband the menu for Canvas, he looked at it and said it looked more like a lunch place. After eating dinner there, I think he's probably right. The food was good, but it definitely wasn't mind-blowing. Same for the mixed drinks. The view, however, was lovely. We had the mussels for an appetizer - good, pretty standard, but I wish it had come with more bread for dipping. I had the steak frites, which was tasty and cooked well, but it came with maybe five slices of steak, so I thought it was overpriced. My husband got the burger with several of the add-ons, and I thought it was probably the best part of the meal. I went in to the canvas restaurant not sure what to expect due to the multiple reviews about poor service, let me just say, I'm not sure what they are talking about. My friend and I made a reservation for brunch at 11:15, the host promptly greeted us with a smile letting us know she had us on the covered patio and asked if that was okay. Of course! We love to sit outside on patios. She walked us to the patio and sat us at the cutest little table overlooking the lake and into the restaurant bar. Our server Elizabeth, who mind you, was wonderful! Greeted us within a minute, took our drink orders for bottomless mimosas and quickly returned. Side note: more champagne then juice, can't complain. (You can choose from orange, pineapple, and grapefruit) We both ordered tiramisu French toast with a side of bacon. The bacon was perefectly cooked with a bit of a crunch, my favorite. The French toast was the perfect amount. Not too sweet at all. The prices aren't bad at all and have a variety to choose from for brunch, lunch and dinner. Elizabeth was on top of keeping our drinks filled and checking on us. On the way out she said "see you next weekend?" You best believe it! We will be returning. The atmosphere of this place is great, service is great and very friendly. So don't mind the bad reviews give it a chance! Not sure why the hype on this place. I live within walking distance and really tried to like the food but seemed way too over priced for average quality. The drinks are also meh. The old fashion is probably the worst I've ever had and not sure why I keep trying it... We stopped in for an early dinner. We ordered the peel and eat shrimp, margherita flatbread, and wild boar bolognese. The standout for the night was the shrimp. You get 6 huge shrimp from Argentina with excellent dipping sauces-- house-made cocktail sauce and louis sauce. I haven't tried louis sauce before. Its a mayonnaise-based sauce with a little bit of heat. They include a small bottle of Tabasco to add an extra kick. The flatbread and the bolognese were both okay. The bolognese comes with shredded wild boar but is otherwise pretty boring. I had their special tiki drink. I enjoyed the grapefruit flavor and loved the tiki glass cup it came in, but, overall, was not impressed enough to want another one. In terms of atmosphere, we got a view of the lake, which was great. The inside has a hip vibe, but I was not a huge fan of the acoustics, which made it a difficult to have a conversation/order. Service was good and attentive, no issues there. There was also a coffee/bakery stand in the lobby. I did not get a chance to check it out, but I would be open to coming back to check it out if convenient. read more

The manager was great in the way he handled our poor dining experience but the food was absolutely awful. I ordered three different things and they somehow messed up a burger? chicken tenders and queso and chips. They gave us 7 chips covered in onions and peppers. When I bit into the burger it was so salty I couldn't eat it. The queso for the chips was like a frozen block of velveeta and my spoon even got stuck inside of it. The service was slow and we waited a long time for water. On the bright side the ambiance and atmosphere were great. I would consider giving this place a second chance if they work with the cooks, Also there is no Coke Zero. read more
