Yesterday I came in for brunch and this was my first time coming to canvas and let me tell YOU that I HAD to make a yelp account to praise our server and this beautiful restaurant. We walked in thinking originally that it was going to have a grocery store attached to this restaurant because it said "market" but definitely not . The hostess Fatima greeted us nicely and asked me if I wanted to sit outside with no wait so Pablo who was very pleasant brought us over to the high tops facing the water and WOW SO BEAUTIFUL. We get greeted by our server and her name is Heaven and at first I thought she said Kevin and she laughed it off and made a joke out of it and I instantly fell in love with her. She was so sweet and understanding and she made the best out of every situation that came along throughout the meal. She seemed quite busy but no matter what never got out of a good mood and was right on point that we never had to flag down anyone or ask anyone for help which happens so often at other restaurants. She gave me so many recommendations and was so honest about the menu items. I gave her my top picks and she didn't just say "oh THAT ONE" she explained to me that do you like spicy food? or are you really hungry or wanting something light? She helped me immensely without making me feel like i'm being annoying and I got the cavattapi pasta which I was iffy about it but our server was right on the money WOW the food was fantastic and the drinks were so good. It was my birthday yesterday too and I'm not sure how our server knew it but she surprised not only me but my fiancé on the surprise of a dessert and if anyone wants a dessert recommendation GET THE PANNA COTTA. We left happy, full, and I'm pretty sure I have a new friend. I'm happy to have met a server with such a fun, sweet personality that I don't see now a days. Servers are usually so stiff and to the point but Heaven made sure that we felt like we weren't being rushed and that we could enjoy our time. She even made a joke by putting the check out of our reach at the very edge of the table that she didn't want us to leave. I appreciate canvas for picking amazing people to work for you and having amazing food. I will be back and I want Heaven as our waitress every single time. I might even invite her to our wedding! I was very disappointed with this restaurant because the service and food was not good. I was very happy to enjoy a nice meal on the water and unfortunately the food was not anything worth the price the food at Applebee's has more flavor. The brunch menu was lacking options and had no appetizer options. The waitress Karen was very not attending to our group of 6. I was unbelievably deceived by their menu online to their menu inside the restaurant. My friend had the margarita flat bread and it came with pesto. It's a good think she likes pesto because a margarita pizza NEVER comes with pesto. It should have normal marinara sauce with mozzarella cheese tomatoes and basil on top. When I wanted to order another drink they let me know the 2 hour bottomless had ended, even though they didn't mention that before I started to order. The food was nothing wild or really that great. One of our guest waited more than 15 min to get refilled with the bottomless mimosas and there were no appetizers to enjoy while we waited for our food. The waitress Karen didn't recommend anything on the menu or let us know of any good picks for the day. The only thing she let us know was that they had a special desert for the day. The manager didn't really acknowledge me when I expressed my concerns and was more concerned with getting to the more matured adults. Our friends birthday was something to celebrate and at this restaurant it was not worth it. I'm unfortunately very upset and deceived by the meals and environment the pictures seemed to promise. Visited on opening night. Every employee as nice as one would expect. The décor is nice, not too traditional and nice views. I specially like the open kitchen concept which reminded me of Tavern on the Green. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and seemed to know enough of everything on the menu. After ordering a couple of cocktails for two, we ordered two appetizers, the charred octopus and the ceviche. My husband seemed to like his octopus, I could not quite swallow it, so glad that is not what I ordered. I ordered the ceviche was very tasty and fresh. For main course, my husband ordered the pork shank which was delicious and very tender. I ordered the chumichurri steak which was cooked to perfection and it came with some tasty black beans and rice. For dessert we had sweet potato cheesecake and the chocolate cookie dessert. The cookies came right out the over and the chocolate mouse was heaven. It can get a little pricey for regular visits but for occasional visits definitely worth it. Is really great to have such a high quality restaurant so close by. I would encourage those living outside the Lake Nona area to give it a try as it is quite an extraordinary culinary experience (way better than many of the upscale Disney restaurants). read more

Very inconsistent! I walked over to pick up dinner (two salads) for the wife and myself. After waiting 35 minutes, I had to get a manager. He was very apologetic, took care of me, but still didn't know what caused the delay. My wife loved her chopped salad but my salad was a fail. Last time for lunch I had these wonderfully blackened/seasoned shrimp BUT tonight after the wait and walk home my shrimp were not seasoned and a little funky. Canvas has the cutest shop upon arrival and offered valet parking. Delicious brunch, great yuca fries, variety of dinner entrees. The shrimp mofongo being one of my personal favorites.
