I bought pastelitos and croquetas from vicky's bakery in april 2011 for my daughter's birthday and they were just delicious. The cake I ordered from there was to die for on how delicious and beautiful it was. They have just this amazing variety of cakes & all these types of desserts. They have ham&cheese sandwiches, and make the best cafe con leche. I love this place and this is definitely my local bakery. It's true what they say they say, Saturday mornings are crazy busy! But lines move at a good pace, especially since the majority of people ordering are mainly picking up. It's really a great place for a quick bite because you can get your sandwich or pastelito with your cafecito. And since we enjoy their croquettas, including my 2yr old, we'll get the small tray of 25 pieces to share. Don't ever order anything from this place. I was refunded by Uber eats (very unlikely) because I reported this nasty place. The Batido de Mamey was sewer's water, the croquetas, that are supposed to be homemade, bigger and tasty for the price were burnt and shapeless. I ordered a ham & cheese empanada and what I received was just 2 little pieces of ham & barely there cheese stuffed inside a pastelito. Now, I'm not sure if they were out of the empanada & they gave me the closest thing, but it DEFINITELY was not an empanada. My boyfriend and I have been going to this bakery weekly for 3 years... and it has always been amazing!! It doesn't seem like their display case keeps anything warm as I ordered a sandwich, empanada, croquetas and cheese tequenos and they were ALL cold and the pastries hard. They only offered to warm up my sandwich which I still got cold. I had to warm everything up in a microwave. If I wasn't able to warm up my food I'd be annoyed. Vicky Bakery has delicious and reasonably priced Cuban bakery items. The staff is helpful and prompt. Anytime there seems to be a long line it moves quickly. Even during the holidays when things are hectic I can always count on Vicky's Bakery to have delicious desserts at reasonable prices. Ordering ahead is also an option. Let start by saying this is NOT a bakery where they have breads and sweets. This is more of a sweets shop and coffee shop. The bakery on SW 127 Ave used to be Vicky Bakery. I went there yesterday to get pastelitos with guava and cheese. I arrived to see that the name had changed to CAO Bakery. I was a bit hesitant since the place was under new ownership. But, I noted that everything looked the same as before in the display cases. So I ordered a dozen pastelitos with guava and cheese to treat my daughter on her arrival. I got an extra one to eat right away. What a disappointment! The one I ate right away was dry and lacked the rich crusty flavor. The guava was hard to find and the cheese was not creamy. The ones in the box were the same. This place just got a name change from Vicky Bakery. Whatever name they under they use the same baker. Same sticky pastries,Cold pastries just a disappointment! I tried it twice and there will be no third. It makes sense why both times I've gone it has been empty! Regular pastries are sticky and cold, the empanadas are also cold.... Colombian cheese one is disgusting cold. Pizza pastel taste like Spanish sausage instead of having ham....also smell odd. The ham n cheese croissants have 1 slice of ham and 1 of cheese.
