My daughter had front bumper damage that required repair and replacement of lights to pass inspection which was my objective in the first place. Matt Avila was able to get me in the day I called after reading the great reviews here and on google. He spent time looking over the car and gave me an estimate, both with and without paint job and bringing parts in. He didn't act like they always know best and weren't pushy about only using their parts. As it turned out, my daughter bought the headlight assembly, they were able to find a bumper that day, and they were able to salvage and put back into place the turn lights. All in all, we were able to knock off half of the estimate price and they did it all in one day. I asked for the paint job NOT to be done and frankly it looks better with a black mask on the white car. Additionally, Matt and Valerie at the front desk were very professional. Look past the parking lot, the cars being worked on in the side parking (not just thrown out there as trash as one person alluded to), and their front waiting area. If you want fancy with food and drinks, walk half the block to any one of the high priced hipster dives on South Congress. Let Matt and his crew do the job they were trained for and count on quality work at a low and reasonable price in a good turnaround time. And they were always receptive to my phone calls which I had to make numerous times in order to coordinate my daughter dropping off the car at a certain time. Thanks Matt! When I bought a new car, it had a pretty large dent in the support next to the windshield. At one place, I was given a very large ("conservative") estimate, and some scare tactics. On the recommendations from Yelp and my mechanic, I tried CCC - and I had an excellent experience, with quick work, a clear and thorough explanation of what needed to be done, and in the end almost totally seamless work that makes it look like new. Later, I had a pretty minor problem (a part just needed some plastic push-clips, but I didn't exactly understand what needed to be done.) I came by, and they fixed it in about five minutes, and didn't even charge me. Great service, and even though it's on the other side of town from me, it's absolutely worth the drive. One hint: Their sign is rather non-descript and hard to spot. They're between the furniture store and Broken Spoke. read more

I smashed my beloved Toyota Tundra and went to Yelp to find a body shop after the dealership I purchased it from dropped the ball. The choice was easy for me after reading all the great reviews. The people were so helpful at Capital City. They immediately got to work on getting my vehicle towed to their shop, which the dealership's body shop couldn't figure out how to do in four days (think rental car). They called me twice a day thereafter to give me a report on what was going on. Unfortunately, the appraiser decided to total my truck :( So, needless to say, Capital City won't be repairing it. This place was good to me. I went to get an estimate as the 3rd place after finding it on yelp, it was 50% of the highest estimate I got. Took me about 7 months to get the money together, when I went back to get it done they didn't honor the original (thought I didn't have a record of it) and the estimate/cost was about $150 higher than initially And it was the same dude who did the estimate. But the staff was super friendly. However there was paint from the body work on my steering wheel when I got it back as well. I called back to ask if I could bring it in to get it cleaned off and they said yes, I was just too lazy to ever do it. All in all good, just some lil details could have been better, maybe. read more

Bad news is I have been here twice. Good news is they were phenomenal each time. The color matching was perfect and my car came back looking brand new after it was stolen and had tons of damage. I had a fantastic experience with Capital City Collision in getting my 2014 Honda Civic repaired. I got into a car accident recently and I was in a tough situation where I needed to find a auto shop ASAP and needed to tow my car from San Antonio to Austin. I'm so happy I chose Capital City Collision because the whole process of getting my car repaired was so stress-free and they handled EVERYTHING. Staff were very friendly when I called to have my insurance tow my car from San Antonio to Austin to their shop and there was no issue of having my car wait in their shop for a few days before my insurance damage inspector could assess the damages. Even the damage inspector let me know that the team at Capital City Collision stripped the car so it was easier for her to assess all the damages for my claim. Matthew was very helpful in explaining to me what needed to be done and was super confident in getting everything fixed. I was given an estimate that the car would take 22 days (which I expected since the damages were severe) and it ended up taking 14 days. Additionally, after the parts were ordered, I received text updates from Christina which were extremely helpful and so appreciated! I wasn't sure how often I should check in and it was so nice to get those daily updates at the same time every day via text. Additionally, it was so easy to communicate with Matthew about any concerns when I called to check in. I have some experience with auto shops in the past, but I am blown away on how simple and stress-free this process was! It's often intimidating to go through a process getting a car repaired and I never felt intimidated and never had any concern that I was getting ripped off. I had my car repaired here after a horrible hit and run I was involved in. I came out of a show @ a local Austin venue and my car was two spaces to the left and smashed all around the trunk. I specifically chose Cap. City Collision due to its reviews. The initial assessment etc., I was pleased with the service. However, through the MONTH they had my car: The RECEPTIONIST- (extremely rude and dismissive)- who's never called to update me- I had to call every few days. She would promise to call and never did, then I would call and she woudl huff and puff and be blatantly rude. The people Cap City EMPLOYS: "the window guy" to replace my windows after they painted the back end of my car... this took an additional 5 days because he just didnt show up. (and the receptionist never called me to tell me this) meanwhile I am paying for a rental... so thoughtful. The equipment at Cap City: The paint machine- "just stopped working" for a week. This is additional to the week waiting for the "window guy" and last but not least: THE OUTCOME- Due to being bumped by an elderly driver, as they were backing out, and I was waiting in my parking spot... (joy) I took my car to CALLIBER COLLISION as USAA advised. During the assesment the guy at Calliber asked me to come look at my bumper... THE PAINT WAS FLAKING OFF AND HAD RIPPLED EVERYWHERE. During the internal assessment of my car when they took the bumper off: CAPITOL CITY HAD LEFT ACTUAL STRUCTURAL PARTS OFF MY CAR. Capitol- Why would you do this to people? Capital City Collision is the BEST auto body shop I have ever dealt with. They offer top notch customer service; they are super polite, friendly, responsible, communicative and on time. Right in the beginning, Monica greeted me so warmly 15 minutes before they closed their shop on Saturday (first of all, their shop is one of just few body shops in Austin that stay open on Saturdays). After dropping off my car, one of the employees gave me a ride back home. I offered him a tip, but he politely declined saying that it was the company's service. The shop owner, Matthew was very efficient in his email communication. I was dealing with a super slow insurance company with a lot of frustration, but Matthew took over it, leaving me hustle free. He worked out several hundreds dollar difference between his shop's estimate and the insurer's in a timely manner. Capital City Collision also kindly offered me a replacement car for free, which I didn't need to use as they finished repairing my car on time. When I went there to pick up my car, it was super clean inside and out. They did this cleaning just as part of their extensive service. I was super happy. I called Capital City Collision to voice my frustrations with their lack of finishing touches on my repair; I spoke to Monica (the owner's daughter). I asked to speak to the owner, but was again told that the owner does not speak to customers. I told Monica that I would be happy to come down and speak to the owner in person. I was told that the owner does not meet with customers and would not meet with me. I told Monica about each and every one of the issues I had with their service and workmanship, there was absolutely zero concern; if anything, I was rushed off the phone as a "complainer". Painted exhaust system, missing parts, missing bolts and screws, gas door falling off. They don't care. Capital City Collision takes absolutely zero responsibility for their poor workmanship, have EXTRAORDINARILY poor communication skills, and worst of all, they just don't care. If you are at all detail oriented and care about your car, find some other place to go. No one ever wants to have to go to a body shop - but thank heavens for Capital City when those occasions arise. Everyone there (office staff, techs, etc.) was so warm and friendly. They did a great job repairing my car, did it on time, and charged me exactly what they'd estimated. (They even gave me a little leftover paint for an unrelated touch-up I'd wanted to do.). We don't live in Austin, and so we went off yelp reviews to find this body shop to replace our badly damaged bumper. From beginning to end, we couldn't be more pleased. Matt was quick to provide a reasonable estimate. Javi checked in our truck when we dropped it off, and was very detailed in his inspection, even finding damage we hadn't noticed. The work was done quickly, and two days later we had our beautiful truck back. Little dings and paint chips were gone, and the truck looked like new! First off let me preface this review by saying that i SUCK at parking in my car. It's really low to the ground and has a front spoiler that i happen to scrape on parking blocks and the like. Well, one night i REALLY hit it good and well, i knocked my front bumper loose. I brought it to Cap City mainly because of the great reviews here on Yelp and i noticed they give a 10% discount towards your deductible if you file an insurance claim. They looked it over and gave me a quote of $865 (bumper and a few other things i needed replaced). I brought it to my insurance company and they appraised the repairs about $20 less. Everyone on here made it sound like the guys at this shop were really outgoing and friendly and what not. I didn't exactly get the same feeling when i went here and actually left a little confused because things weren't really explained very much to me. I brought it back and dropped off the car and they lined up a rental car for me and it was ready in two days. I came by to pick up my car and it looked AMAZING! They detailed my car and even got a few little scratches out too. Turns out the rental car place was closed already and they even let me leave it there so i can get my car. They were much friendlier when i picked it up. That said, they're not going to hold your hand and they're not going to smile and greet you. They will hook you up with a discount, make your car look amazing and do things like call the rental car place and have them pick you up. Needless to say, i'd suggest this place to my friends and i'll go back again if i have to. They also stand by their work with a lifetime warranty. read more

After my Mini Cooper was rear-ended by a Jeep, I was left with a severely crunched back end and trunk that was jammed shut. The entire experience and the results were far beyond my expectations. This is a local family business that takes pride in high quality and excellent customer service. First of all, I was given a "very worst case estimate" with a thorough explanation of what could possibly go wrong as they started the work. I committed, and my repair from start to finish took only 4 days. They provided me with a free rental vehicle, and left me a voicemail each afternoon to give me a status of where the repair was at in the process. They also took many photos of the repair in process per my request. In the end, my repair cost far less than the "worst case estimate". You'd never be able to tell that my car was ever damaged. The repair was flawless. Even more amazing was the paint job. I could not detect a paint shade difference whatsoever. And, they guarantee their work for life. Let's admit it. It's never good when you have to use a body shop. I chose Capital City because of the Yelp reviews, and they were right on. I couldn't figure out how a shop got such overwhelmingly good reviews, but now I'm a fan too. I had a minor run in with a cement wall. But as anyone know, no car repair is ever that minor. I chose not to use insurance; Capital City's quote seemed reasonable. When I dropped off my car, they kindly gave me a ride where I was going. The car was ready on time and looked great. What would have been a good review turned great, when I realized they touched up a number of other minor spots on my 6 year old car without even mentioning it. Just came back from picking my car up and it looks like nothing ever happened!!! I just bought my 2012 Hyundai Accent and had it less than a month. While reversing downhill from a parking garage, I scraped the side and it left a nasty scratch and bump. Needless to say I was not only furious at myself but stressed at the cost of repairing it. I got an estimate at another well reviewed body shop and they quoted me $1100. I decided not to use my insurance as there was no telling how much the premium would go up so after reading reviews for CCC, I decided to get an estimate from this place with the hopes of maybe getting a cheaper quote. Monica was very friendly and after surveying the damage said she could do it for $676. I was excited at the cheaper price but skeptical at what the catch would be. Would the work be less than perfect because they charge less? I decided to go with them anyway because of all the good reviews. I am extremely glad I did. Not only did they have it ready in less time than the other shop estimated, but after asking me how I heard about them, Joe I think, said he would make it an even $600!!! They also give you a lifetime guarantee on their work. I guess there really are honest businesses out there that still offer quality work without charging you up the ass for it. Wow - all I can say is great customer service and spotless work. I had a trim/reflector piece replaced and a scratch about the size of a playing card on my front bumper fixed yesterday. I dropped by last week to get an estimate and was in an out in about 15 minutes and was given an generous "yelp discount" my quote. They even promised same day service! They ordered the part and I brought the car in first thing yesterday morning. First off, they had someone drop me at my office so that I didn't have to call a cab. Then, when I returned and it was going to be longer than expected (the paint was taking longer to dry), they knocked another $50 bucks off the price for my patience! The workmanship was fantastic too. When they gave me the keys to my Mini back it looked brand new! Joe - the owner - was even outside wiping out the wheels (not part of the repair) to make the car look its best! Now that is taking pride in your work. I highly recommend these guys. I brought my car here after hitting a pole. I had gotten estimates from a few body shops around town, however I had to pay out-of-pocket and they were all higher than I could afford (I did some serious damage!). Capital City was the only body shop that was willing to find a way to help me repair the damage and stay within my budget. Matthew worked with me to figure out what was most important to fix and what would make the biggest cosmetic difference. I knew it wouldn't be perfect (since I declined the full repair) but I'm so glad I took his advice - my car looks awesome! You can barely tell it was damaged, and I was able to save quite a bit over the complete repair. Based on Yelp I took my Honda to Capital City Collision for an estimate on a bumper that was consistently coming detached from the car at one corner. Not only was it a very pleasant experience, with helpful and friendly people, from whom I received a speedy estimate (bumper needs to be replaced to do the job properly) but most impressive was that Matthew popped the bumper back into place AT NO CHARGE and it looks perfect. Of course, because the part is broken, the fix might not last forever, but for now he saved me quite a bit of money at the expense of getting to do the job. He didn't have to do that, and it indicates to me that he cares more about customer service than getting every penny he can. If I need body work in the future, I'll definitely take it to Capital City Collision. read more
