All the traditional must gets -garlic lobsters, fresh steamed fish, abalone with assorted mushrooms , Peking duck, crab fried rice, salted whole chicken, longevity noodles, and assorted appetizers (jellyfish, drunken chicken, seaweeds, spring rolls) - were all freshly prepared and perfectly seasoned. Came right when they opened to beat the brunch crowd as we didn't have reservations. Plenty parking. We wanted to sit in their patio as a COVID precaution, but it wasn't available yet when the restaurant opened. However, the patio is mostly enclosed so perhaps it wouldn't have made a difference. Service was great when there were very few customers. Chrysanthemum tea- I appreciate how strong it was as most dim sum places don't offer so much tea. They do charge for tea here. Most dim sum range from ~$4.80-6.80 w other speciality dishes being more expensive. Shrimp and Pork Shu Mai and the Deep fried dough rice noodles were our favorites. The beef rice noodles and mango pudding were just ok. Would've ordered for dim sum w shrimp if we came w a larger group, but it was just the 2 of us w child. Options were presented in both English and Chinese, and each option was presented with a picture. We ordered many of our favorites and tried a few new dishes. It is always fun when our friend Steve orders for us and provides us the rare opportunity to try different dishes we normally wouldn't. As a whole, the food was really good and the service attentive. Stopped by for some Dimsum before heading back to Vegas. This place shared a parking lot with our hotel, which was super convenient. A little different than the traditional dimsum experience where they come around with the carts of food. They gave us 2 minutes to order and we checked off our favorite go-to dishes. Marinated Chicken feet 5/5 Shrimp dumplings (Har Gow) 5/5 Taro cake 4/5 Beef tripe 5/5 Almond soup with baked puff pastry 5/5 Yellow wasabi mustard (free on the side) 5/5 Dishes came out quickly and hot which I liked. Many dim sum items are not available but the popular dishes are all there such as Ha GAO, ShaoMai, chicken feet and gluttonous rice. All waiters observe COVID-19 safety measures by wearing masks and gloves. They also clean and disinfect between customers. All tables are spaced at least 6 feet's. The dim sums are still very good despite COVID-19 and limited available items. It was refreshing to have dine in for dim sum since I have been craving for it for awhile. Capital Seafood is one of the best quality dimsum in the SGV area. They do not use carts, it's a normal ordering system and they bring out dishes in the order they are prepared. Due to the design of the building this is less loud and hectic as compared to other dimsum, which is a nice benefit. The line starts forming around noon on the weekends, so plan accordingly. They offer many of the typical dimsum plates, but one dish that only few have and that Capital excels at is the Almond Milk Pastry. This is a pastry cooked over top of a glass of almond milk. It's quite hot to start, but after cooling is a warm milk with pieces of flaky pastry dropped in. Rare, and done well here. Other popular dimsum dishes that they do well are chicken feet (if you are into that), and the pineapple salted egg yolk bun. The rice cake with xo sauce is uncommon, and flavorful. The char sui bao (steamed or baked buns) are just average, not a reason to come here. Their vegetable dishes are lacking, the broccoli just cooked with some oil, and the steamed spinach dumpling has no seasoning at all. read more

Portions are large and their roast duck is delicious and plump. We tried their roast chicken when they ran out of roast duck and it was delicious too. All the dishes are very well prepared. Their Singapore noodles and veggies are fresh and tasty. Yes we went there for dinner too. Dimsum has wait on weekends but better weekdays. Dinner is very easy to get a seat. Nice big restaurant with booth, table and family table (with lazy Susan) seating. Greeted at the door and sat promptly. We were handed menus but as I am new to the dim sum thing, I really was kind of lost. The waiter asked if we wanted tea. I said yes. He gave a list of options and I chose jasmine tea for myself and my 90 year old friend just wanted hot water. While he was getting that, I looked a little more at the menu. There were a few that seemed self explanatory, but others that did not. The waiter came back out with the tea and I reminded him about the hot water, which he forgot. A few minutes later I flagged a gentleman in a suit and tie (I presumed was the owner or manager) and said we were new to this. What would be recommend? So he pointed to a few shrimp and pork options and we went with his choices. The waiter came back around to take our order and I said we just placed it with that guy. He said ok and again I reminded him of the hot water. He immediately went back and brought it out. Soon after we were brought four steamers with an assortment of dumplings. They were all good. My favorite I think was the Shui Mai (?). I would have liked to have a dipping sauce selection or soy sauce. The sauce that did come out on one of the plates we used for the other dumplings. We learned that they were closing shortly and we really just made it in by the skin of our teeth. I'm thinking that's why things seemed a little scattered about. We were charged for two teas, but I wasn't going to hassle them for $1.35 when it was clear that were busy shutting down for the day. I paid the bill and we left. Had dim sum here for the first time yesterday. Ordered a variety of dishes, and my favorites were the egg rolls. Taiwanese style: long, thin cigar like egg rolls filled with only pieces of shrimp, with the ends twisted closed and deep fried. They are then cut in half before being served with a sweet brown sauce. That and the mixed mushroom egg rolls were delicious. Other stand outs were the Baked Pineapple Bun filled with salted egg yolk custard, Hong Kong style egg custard tarts, and Shrimp Dumplings in Supreme Broth. The only item that I found disappointing was the Rice Noodle Wraps/Crepes filled with ground beef. The beef was minced and then marinated with too much corn starch that the filling did not taste like beef at all, and the texture was somewhat off putting, like a paste. While they're trying to provide you with a higher end dining experience, it can be difficult to flag down a wait person to take your order sheet, or to assist you with any other needs you have. read more

I invited some guests for dinner there and when the manager came to take our order he pushed us to order the most expensive items on the menu. He said, "You're not treating your friends right if you don't order our lobster, crab and fish". We ordered the lobster and fish. Then he proceeded to push their fresh item of the day: shrimp at $26 apiece. That's when our guests spoke up and asked if he was trying to rob us. So many items - I will note the things to get and the things to avoid. Overall it's a solid choice with good food, and great that it's more north (on Huntington) than most of the usual dim sum options in SG/Alhambra/MP. Thumbs up: 1. Although none were "best ever", my typical faves are good here: cha siu bao, ha gow (shrimp), and the bean curd rolls. 2. The shrimp egg rolls are surprisingly good. They are thinner than a regular egg roll, but have a high ratio of shrimp that pleasantly surprised me. Thumbs down: 1. The fried calamari. Normally this is one of my faves but here it misses the mark. There is too much batter which is too hard and not enough calamari. I ate one piece and not another. This was recommended by the waitress. 2. The fried eggplant slices sound good, and they aren't bad tasting, but just very underwhelming and you feel like those bites "didn't count" and you have to go eat something else. 3. NEVER EVER COME BACK AGAIN! TERRIBLE GREEDY RESTAURANT!!! Came here for family dinner, menu option is very little in these type of restaurant. The chopsticks I had was moldy, 8 people table they only willing to provide 6 serving of white rice and still charging us for 8?! Food was alright unfortunately with their service was terrible. When the bill came, they MANUALLY circled the 18% tip amount and added together on the bottom told us to pay another amount based on their order. WHY? Your restaurant didn't even reach 10% worthy tip and you are telling customers to pay you the tip amount you want them to? Ridiculous!! So we still very generously provide tip and only $7 shorter than the amount they wants us to pay, when we leave, they literally came to us saying we are short on the bill!
