We were expecting slightly more seafood in there and we also did not like the imitation crab (was more expecting real seafood). The one item that we really liked was the tofu skin roll - shrimp! This was my go-to place to eat Chinese food ever since I was little. We went here for my sister's 50th birthday brunch and it was excellent. The menu was easy to read and the dim sum choices were excellent. Mostly everything I wanted and usually get but there were some fried things that I wish were there. We walked to the restaurant since the hotel we stayed at was right next door. Ambiance: upscale and luxury dining room. It's a medium size restaurant. Overall, a good spot to hold banquets, and enjoy dim sum or dinner with family. Service: above average. Order to food arrival time was efficient. We didn't have to wait long for the food we ordered. We did see the dim sum carts being pushed around but prefer to order off the paper menu since it's made fresh. Food: excellent. (5/5 for most dishes, portion size was a bit small, price is comparable to Bay Area dim sum but the quality and taste was excellent). We ordered the minced beef rice noodle, vegetable bean curb roll, shrimp tofu skin roll, fried shrimp and pork dumpling, beef chow fun and the baked crispy bread with almond cream. All were delicious but our favorites were the baked crispy bread and the shrimp tofu skin roll. I haven't been to Seafood in years and decided to try it again since my aunt said that they had some good dishes according to her friend. We came on a Saturday morning and it was pretty packed, but we were able to get a table within 30 minutes for party of five. The food here is pretty standard for a dim sum, nothing spectacular. We still paid 18% between us, but they made a scene as we were leaving. Tipping is customary, not mandatory, and there's no law requiring it. They already add 18% for parties of 8+ (we were a party of 7). Not sure what the point is of that since other people on here have left reviews that they were harassed and tip was demanded of them regardless of the number of people in their party. I'm surprised I haven't written a Yelp review for this place yet since it's one of my family's go to spots. If you come by on a weekend at 10am right when they open, there's usually no wait. My favorites here are the almond tea with puff pastry, shiumai, charsiubao, lava yolk bun, and chicken feet. The Taiwanese deep-fried shrimp rolls are not bad too! They're also great for dinner or banquet style meals. They have private rooms you can reserve. I also order take out here all the time and it's always a hit. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it in my opinion. Service is super friendly, attentive, and fast here. If you come around 11-11:30am on the weekends, there will definitely be a wait. They had a good spicy flavor with the jalapeños. I think the only disappointment were the egg tarts. They were mini versions and the filling was really orange for some reason. A nice dim sum restaurant in SGV. It does not have a huge variety of dim sum. But they got all the "core" one. And they all tastes pretty good. Very impressed on the Siu Mai. I am never a big fans of Siu mai, but they surprise me! This restaurant is very spacious. But same as all the other dim sum restaurants, it could get very noisy. Well, everyone going to dim sum restaurants for chatting and gathering, so it could get louder and louder. But it doesn't really bother me a lot as it was always like this back in HK. I came on a Sunday morning so it was pretty packed - my party was quoted a 30 minute wait time but the table was ready in abt 15! This location is huge, with multiple different rooms for different parties/occasions. The inside is clean and feels slightly more modern compared to other dim sum restaurants. The service is what you can expect from a typical Chinese restaurant, very efficient but not particularly attentive. We had to flag down a worker at times to get a refill on water for the teapot. There are no dim sum carts at this location, but people do come around with trays offering certain dishes. The food stays consistently delicious. My all-time favorite has to be the salted egg yolk custard bun. The bun is filled to the brim with custard! I also really enjoyed the smelt fish.
