Boy, we were both super glad we came here to eat. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly staff member and seated promptly in one of their booths. The interior of the restaurant was modern and decorated like a garden. The star of the show was the food for sure. I ordered the Phở Bếp Việt, which was essentially their house special pho with a variety of cuts of beef. My wife ordered the Bánh Cuốn Tôm Cháy with no meat and extra tofu. She told me that she absolutely loved it and totally cleaned her plate at the end of the meal. My pho was exquisite as well. The broth was very tasty and slightly sweet due to its beefiness. The meats were also quite good with the sliced rib eye being the best of them all. The place got a good review, probably from family, friends or people do not know real authentic Vietnamese food. I do not have receipt nor a photo to shared about the bowl of soup that I ordered this week. Their bun rieu cost $17.50 after tax, plus some tips is over $20 for a mediocre food, called bun rieu, but I never see the " rieu ". I think he weather too hot, their "rieu " trolls off on vacation somewhere, the soup has 2 pieces of blood cake, ONE quarter size thick of fried pork load ( cha chien ) 2 quarter cut fresh tomatos, 1 deep fried meat ball, 3 fried tofu and a soggy meatball with too much breadcrumb that falling apart after you bite into its. The worst part was the noodle still hard and chewy, lucky I've asked them made the broth real hot, but still not enough to soften the noodle, it ruins the concept. At leat at Van's restaurant , the bun rieu cost 10 bucks, fresh, soft noodle and has some rieu / crab paste in it. Because we were stuck in the hospital for 10days, I did not have time to try the iconic Banh Mi Chao, a Hanoi specialty so I welcome the opportunity here. 1) We ordered "Bo Ne" idk why they called it Bo ne, it looked like banh mi chao to me, a filet mignon sizzling in a sauce w a generous amount of onion and garlic, it also came with a sunny side up egg, a salad and a baguette. It was delicious and only $22. The filet was tender, recently I had filet elsewhere that was chewy enough that it could potentially knock out my crowns! Bc everywhere the broth was straight out of a can, I'm not making it up as any left over I tested by putting it in the frig, it was all watery overnight, if it had bone, it would be a gel like broth, here at BV the broth had a little fat that gave it a delicious taste, I'm tired of the can broth so salty idk how people rate that particular new Pho store 4.5 stars, they brag they used HARRIS FARM BEEF, idk about that it was pretty chewy to me and very bland. I love the meatballs here, it's huge and very tasty not the small meatballs bought frozen from supermarket. My guess is they either made it here or bought fresh from a factory in GG. They also garnish w a lot of fresh onions and cilantro, chives and bean sprouts. A solid 5 IMHO. The restaurant was empty when we got there, later a couple of customers came, they need more diners, in my reviews of all the restaurants advertised on social medias, most if not all were fake, they hired professional photographers then posted really slick videos, the food was even inedible, this restaurant deserves so much better, although it is true location, location are important bc there is no foot traffic here, they need to spend some money advertising, it will pay off 10fold. I was in the area and stopped by here for dinner. I did stop by Bep Viet once about two months ago but the restaurant was closed that day. I noticed that they have good reviews so wanted to try again. I am always up for good eats. :) It was a great decision. I learned that Bep Viet is also owned by the same owner of Quan Bun. What a coincidence! I love Quan Bun but haven't been back in a while since it is a bit out of the way for me. Had the House Special rice rolls (Banh cuốn dac biet) and canh bun, another house special and my favorite dish from Quan Bun. They both were very delicious. Rice rolls had the perfect chewiness and all protein that came with it were so good. Serving was a tad small though but it was fine. Canh bun, needless to say, was amazing. I ordered without the pork blood cakes. Service was fantastic. The young men with the glasses (server and cashier) was polite, respectful, and attentive. Came across Bếp Việt a few days before actually stopping by as I haven't been to this side of Mile Square park in some time. From checking out some of the photos from other customers, I figured we should give it a shot. Back here again after 8 months, decided to bring a friend for lunch here on a Sunday at noon. Fortunately wasn't too crowded - plenty of parking in the plaza. We got a booth table upstairs as I wanted immediately (last time I was here, the upstairs wasn't complete yet. Ambiance - beautiful, clean, I love the two floor layout too, and the nice part is if you sit upstairs and need their help, you don't need to run downstairs to talk to them, there's a buzzer button to press and they'll be there. They take online reservations via Yelp, open early at 8am, we came here at 10am there was plenty of seating so there is no need to make reservations. The restaurant is two level with nice decor of plant theme. We ordered canh bun a noodle soup with meat roll, crab meatballs, ong choy vegetable. The soup is flavorful and clean tasting. The only downside is service can be spotty and clumsy I heard dishes drop, and walking by the outside backside it smelled bad like trash. Positives: -parking, being further out of the main little Saigon area it had a large parking lot and finding parking was easy. -size, the restaurant is very large and can easily accommodate more that 5 people. Note that if you bring six or more you're getting that 18% California automatic tip surcharge. Just leaving that here because it can be a shock when you pay. -service was quick and friendly. They also pay attention to you which is a plus for Vietnamese restaurants. Negatives: -food was okay. My wife got the dry pho. The broth was too herbal (strong cinnamon and star Elise taste). I got the bun rieu and it tasted good at first and had a good amount of meat.. Though I got a head ache later. I don't have a sensitivity to MSG unless they put too much. Overall 4/5 My parents paid for us and they actually liked this spot which is rare. However, I would not come back unless someone else is paying. I love a good viet food that is not overhyped. NEP is a true disappointment for the past few hears. I am glad people have not found this place yet and the food feel truly authentic and very southern style. We walked in seven minutes before closing time and the staff was super accommodating and polite. I still had no idea they were closing soon. Three of us wanted to go out to eat in FV for Thanksgiving, so I RSVP'd through Yelp. When we arrived, an employee greeted us in a nice way. While I thought part of the spring roll was too salty, I liked how there was more moisture in the rice paper, lettuce, and shrimp than in spring rolls sold at other places. We ordered the Bo Ne, PHỞ BẾP VIỆT, and pork spring rolls. The pho broth has a good depth of flavor. Very welcoming and a chili day. They also do not skimp out on the protein, which is very much appreciated. If you're looking for something warm or you're feeling under the weather, this is the dish to get. I ordered BBH and Bun Canh to go. Both are good in my opinion especially Bun canh . I ordered the Bun canh for the next day and it was just how I remember bun canh from childhood. The spring rolls was decent but not the VN coffee. The coffee tasted so weird. I threw away the coffee. It was so bitter and taste nothing like VN coffee. A Cute place with second floor seating as well. Good location with ample of parking. So many BBH restaurants in Little Saigon, this place is on my top five for BBH. Highlights - Meatball is unique and not your average store bought kind. They could be hand made because I never had this type before as they were perfect in size and very tender. The rib eye and brisket were very tender as well. The broth was perfect in temperature and the fresh noodles were perfect. Only short comings found were the tendons served were quite tough. First time coming here and it will be our last. We had the fried chicken, bun bo hue & canh bun. The fried chicken was the worst. It was overcooked, burnt, and oily. It shows that the restaurant kitchen staff had the incorrect oil temperature and improper draining techniques. Basically, the restaurant doesn't know how to make fried chicken. Next, the bun bo hue & canh bun were too sweet. Too much added sugar/rock sugar in the soup, and some of the meat didn't taste fresh, like leftovers from days ago. It just had a weird taste. The canh bun was just average, nothing to brag about. We had much better bun bo hue & canh bun elsewhere. Finally, the cost to portion ratio of both soup noodles does not offer enough value.
