My story?! Well here it is. I had come into Capitol Chevrolet as a last attempt into getting me a vehicle for work. I had been for the past 2 days so exhausted from trying to find one after thinking I had my dream car, a 2012 Chevy Camaro, at the South Point Dodge dealership and literally getting screwed out of that deal! Being that I had already gotten two other vehicles with them I would naturally go back to them for my third right, well not really, I'm not a dodge girl ALWAYS been a Chevy lover, so you would of imagined my surprise when I found out they had a USED 2012 Chevy Camaro. So there I go so excited to get my DREAM car right?! WRONG! After spending about 5-6 hours negotiating with them about how much I wanted my payments to be and that I really needed the car to be steamed cleaned on the inside cause it reeked bad of cigarette smoke, oh not to mention there was a dent on the front fender. I left there that night with my payments WAY more than I wanted to pay and literally forced to take the car home even after telling them I didn't want it till ALL those things were fixed. Signed papers keys in hands I got my car! So next morning I drop it off to get it cleaned and have the fender fixed at like 10 am. By the time I get out of work 6 pm I head to South Point Dodge to get my NEW to me car. Pulling up to the dealership I don't see it and start getting this sick feeling to my stomach, walk in see my salesman Q make eye contact for like 3 seconds to only have him turn around and "DODGE" around a corner. I sit in his office for like EVER (30 mins) to have his supervisor come to me and tell me that the deal was off and the car was not mine. I could not believe it! Then he proceeded to tell that he could get me a NEW Dodge Dart or Avenger. WOW is all I could say to stop me from really telling him how horrible of a person and dealership they were to give me the impression that the car was mine at a payment that was too much to begin with and smelled horrible. I left there with no car and so brokenhearted. Still needing a vehicle I wasn't going to stop my search I just knew that I wasn't going to be able to get my dream car. Went to one more dealership. Exhausted from Dodge and the other dealership I found myself at Capitol. I walked in to be greeted my Marco I kinda felt bad for the guy cause I had some serious trust issues and from the get go my stress and anxiety level was so high that no more than 5-10 minutes of being there I literally had a panic/anxiety attack. Poor Marco and how embarrassing. But he was GREAT at understanding and helping to put me at ease. So after calming down and explaining my story to Marco he listened and encouraged me to try to get a Camaro. I was so adamant that I didn't need one or wanted one anymore and that I could just settle for a used whatever there was on the lot. I was so discouraged from having the car I wanted and having it taken away that I didn't think I deserved or yet qualified for another one. Marco and the finance guys ran my credit and just as I expected I couldn't get the car on my OWN. So Marco mentioned a co-signer, it really never crossed my mind since I was trying to get a car on my own. I leave Capitol that day needing a co-signer come back later that same day with a co-signer. YAY! So let me say that Marco set the expectation that there's a chance (slim to none) that I wouldn't get approved but if I didn't at least try then I would of never known. I was okay with that his customer service was so great that I didn't mind the disappointment if I didn't get approved. He really restored my faith in humanity as a person and salesperson. So fingers crossed I let go and we give it our best shot to getting approved for my dream car. A BRAND NEW 2013 Chevy Camaro. Next day I get the phone call from Marco I was APPROVED! Coming back to the dealership I was still a little in shock that it was too good to be true. I walked in Marco could read my uneasiness and right away he assured me that I was approved with no hidden agenda or fees. As we sat waiting for paperwork and finance I still was in disbelief. I was really waiting for like the crew from Punk'd to come out and tell me no I did't get the car. Instead I was lead into a office where the infamous Chuck B was and given the best news I had that day. My papers were ready to be signed to MY car. The biggest surprise was my payment amount it was actually less than I expected! The Capitol Chevrolet TEAM was so awesome with making me feel like "Family"! So with ALL that being said I really want to say that I appreciate Capitol Chevrolet and I thank the WHOLE dealership from the bottom of my heart of making me the owner of my dream car. It's hard to find a new car dealership on Yelp with over 3 stars. While some of those may be warranted, from my experience Capitol Chevrolet deserves a much higher rating. Why I Was Looking For a New Truck? My current vehicle, Toyota Tacoma, is 10 years old with 155,000 miles and it's been a great truck. I was really looking forward to next year when Toyota releases the TRD PRO Tacoma model; I was REALLY hoping they would have a diesel option like pretty much every where else outside of the United States (e.g., Hilux). After learning that there would not be a diesel option on the TRD PRO in the US, that left with really only one option in the "small" class of trucks, the Chevy Colorado. A Needle In a Haystack: After building the Colorado I wanted on the Chevy website I started the long process of trying to find it. I live in Houston and visited 4 dealerships between my office and my home...not a single one had the Colorado I wanted and only the last dealer even had the diesel option for me to test drive. There was exactly 1 truck in the entire state of Texas that was an exact match and it was at Capitol Chevrolet. I checked Capitol's website then called the dealer and asked for the Internet Sales Manager. I was promised a return call after they checked with the Inventory Manager and true to his word, I received a call within a few minutes from Rodrigo Liques. He said the truck I'm looking for is available and when could I come for a test drive. I explained that I live in Houston but tomorrow was a Saturday so it MIGHT be possible. I was very skeptical however, I explained to Rodrigo that I didn't want to drive 3 hours, spend several hours there and not come to any agreement, then drive 3 hours home... effectively wasting my entire Saturday. Rodrigo assured me it would be worth my wile to give Capitol Chevrolet a chance. The Blind Date: So the next day I decide why not, I'll give it a shot The wait to order this exact truck is 12 -14 weeks and if I had to do that, I might as well wait until after Christmas and pick up a 2017. I arrived several hours early but was quickly put in touch with Rodrigo and we began to talk. Since this was now my 5th dealer visit and having done months of research about this vehicle, I was armed with lots of information about the price of this truck, my trade-in value from a dealer's perspective, options, warranties, etc. There was no time wasted with making offers, the sales person going to chat with a manger, counter offers, so-on-and-so-forth..... I experienced NONE of the stuff that makes me (and most likely the vast majority of drivers) dislike the new car buying experience. I told Rodrigo the average price I have been offered for my trade-in and since my company is part of the supplier program, the price for the vehicle was a simple no-hassle type of figure. Imagine my surprise when Rodrigo said "I bet we can beat that." Now The Hard Part, Number$: "And, baby, when I tell ya' the boy has got his own money, I mean the boy has got his own money!" - Cleo McDowell, Coming to America After Capitol Chevrolet matched the offer for my trade-in and gave me the lowest price on a very rare Colorado (White, 4x4, 2.8L Duramax Diesel, z71 Trail Boss Package) I got to sit down with the Finance Manager, Charlie Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin has worked at Capitol Chevrolet somewhere along the lines of 16 years which spoke volumes to me about the integrity of the dealership as a whole. Charlie explained every aspect of what I was signing, the selected lender, options for a warranty, protection packages, any any questions I had about the entire process. If you recall, by now this was late Saturday afternoon and the dealership was extremely busy. Not once did I feel rushed or uncomfortable, Charlie took the time to cover every aspect of the journey. What is usually a very painful experience (parting with hard earned money and taking on a monthly car note) was anything but...I felt more like a friend at his backyard BBQ instead of a new customer at a car dealer. Conclusion: Every business has their fair share of employees that just want to put in their 8-hours and get a paycheck. Perhaps some of the other reviewers on Yelp happened to meet one of them and that is unfortunate. In contrast, the people I met throughout the day were motivated and had passion about Chevrolet's and their job. I wanted a VERY specific vehicle and Capitol Chevrolet had the only one in the entire state (literally), if there was ever an opportunity to take advantage of someone, I was it. I just bought an "as is" used vehicle from Simon in Pre-Owned and I am still in awe regarding the entire process. I have never in my life had this kind of experience at a dealer. We avoided going inside right away and we started walking the lot to see if the car we saw on their website was even there. As we were walking, Simon Castillo ran up to ask if we needed any help or if we had been helped yet. Feeling sincerity in his voice, I decided to ask him about the vehicle I was looking for. He instantly took us to it and walked around it with us and then got the key for us to test drive. We were a tough crowd when he was making jokes and after the test drive he took us to his office to get an application handled. We were not looking to purchase that day and really wanted to wait on it. We asked for a monthly payment that I don't think he even thought was possible. After he got close to it the first time, we still felt like sleeping on it but he then tried again and gave us an offer we could not refuse.. He gave us just enough time to talk to one another and think everything over before making the deal and was not pushy while we were doing it. He let us ultimately decide even though he wanted the sale. We did not feel like we were doing this for him as much as for ourselves. Without Simon, I do not know what we would have bought or if we could have gotten that same vehicle for the price we did the next day.. THANK YOU, SIMON for helping us make this decision and for working WITH US.. I want EVERYONE who goes to Pre-Owned to ask for Simon.. He is honest, friendly, polite, patient, funny, works VERY hard for satisfaction of his customers and is humble. I can not say enough about him. We worked with their Allstate agent, Joe, and got a 2 vehicle bundled deal and I actually left Geico that evening after being with them for years. He dropped our payments down $50.00 each from what we use to pay.. Thank you, Joe! Since we kept Simon late the evening we went in, he let us take the car and we went back the next afternoon to finish the paperwork with Charles, the title clerk. Charles has the best sense of humor and was very polite. We rushed through things a bit, but since I have bought and refinanced cars before, I knew what to look and ask for. ALSO, the bottom lines for everything were over explained by him before the paperwork was handled so it made the paperwork a breeze. He introduced us to everyone in the entire building and even the general manager of the store. We felt cared for and important. In conclusion, I cannot believe the deal we got, the process was more than easy, and we had plenty of time to make OUR decision even though it was one we could not refuse.. This dealership went above and beyond for us and I honestly would not recommend any other dealership or sales associate than Capitol Chevrolet and Simon.. Tyler Rodriguez went out of his way from the day I submitted interest online until weeks after I had already signed the paperwork for my new truck. Originally I was going to buy a new truck from Henna Chevrolet. I told Tyler I was already working with someone at Henna but thanked him for contacting me. He informed me very enthusiastically that he and Capitol Chevrolet would beat any offer they made. I agreed to contact him before I signed any paperwork with Henna and planned on visiting them the next day for my new truck. Early in the day I received a video from Tyler which was very entertaining and reinforced his statement that he would make me the best deal! Henna had told me to wait until they called to come to the dealership which I did. I Received an update text from Henna telling me they were short handed on finance people and that it would only be a little longer. Around the same time Tyler followed up with me and told me that he had found the truck I wanted in his lot(I sent him the stock # I was working with Henna on). Since I hadn't heard back from Henna and I knew I'd at least be entertained by his enthusiasm, I decided to head to Capitol first. I was overwhelmed with the atmosphere when I got there and joked with friends that they should stop by just to hang out! I found out that two of my friends had people they knew that worked at Capitol and was told to talk to them for a good deal but since Tyler had been treating me so well I didn't feel like I needed to. Tyler showed me the truck he had found for me, explained all of the options and details and let me take it for a drive. I was sold. Still hadn't heard back from Henna but didn't care at that point. Tyler started to work with finance on my very demanding and specific payment needs but unfortunately the banks had closed by then! I was given a loaner truck like the one I was buying(black not grey) and told to treat it like it was my own until Monday! In the end we made the deal that matched what I had originally asked for as far as payments and down payments are concerned! But that's not the end... Tyler also messaged me to make sure I was able to use the Onstar and Apple CarPlay that I had mentioned was new to me, let me know when my registration came in AND informed me that I had left without getting my extra set of keys! This is my 1st new vehicle in 20 years but based on my new experience with Tyler and Capitol Chevrolet I would highly recommend this combo! read more

We drove 2 hours to purchase a truck from this dealership after already being pre-approved and submitting all of our information ahead of time so the process would be smooth. We arrived at 7:35 PM and did not leave until 12:30 AM. The delay? Our salesperson was actively working multiple deals at the same time, leaving us sitting for long periods of time knowing we still had a 2-hour drive home. While I understand making sales, this was completely disrespectful of our time. When we were finally sent to finance, things got worse. Our salesperson told us to go ahead into the office once it was free, but the finance guy told me to leave his office and when he's ready he will get us, we waited another 30 minutes. Completely unprofessional. Most importantly -- we clearly stated we did NOT want any warranties or add-ons. After reviewing our contract later, we discovered that products were added anyway without our consent and financed into our loan. On top of that: * We were told our second key would be mailed because they didn't know where it was -- i called 7 days later to see where the key was, and when we called, no one even remembered to mail it. * It has now been 11 days, and we STILL have not received it, nor has it been mailed when I called. Yet they texted saying we can come get it. Yea let me drive 4hrs round trip for something that should have been given when we left with the truck! We were there for 5hrs and no one could detail the truck or find the key like promised? * When we called to speak to a manager, we were told they were "in a meeting" on a Saturday -- working at a dealership before, meetings don't happen on Saturday. which shows an obvious excuse to avoid addressing the issues This entire experience has been frustrating, exhausting, and extremely disappointing. Between the lack of transparency, poor communication, and complete disregard for our time, this is not how a professional dealership should operate. We are now being ignored while trying to resolve issues that should have never happened in the first place. If this issue is not resolved immediately, we will be filing formal complaints with the Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner, Texas DMV, and the Texas Attorney General for deceptive sales practices and unauthorized add-ons. read more

My husband is Chevy Silverado truck man so when it was time to replace his 15-year-old, 206K-mile Silverado he wanted to give Capitol Chevrolet an opportunity to make him a good deal since that's where he'd purchased his previous truck. True to form, our experience was very good. Frank Castro met us as the door with a huge smile. He was very personable and immediately put us at ease about truck shopping. He also ended up being very knowledgeable about Chevy vehicles. He listened to us and understood our requirements... what we were looking for and what was not important to us .. and he never pressured us to look at features we were not interested in. He listened to our requests and met them spot on. My husband had already done his research so he knew the exact truck he was looking for...2016 Chevy Silverado crew cab, Texas edition...and that's the exact truck Frank showed us, even in the color we requested. Frank provided us with all kinds of information that we requested, from bed liners to running boards, and he was more than happy to accommodate us. He was willing to work with us but without pressuring us. Frank persevered in helping us reach our negotiated price which was in the range that my husband had in mind before we arrived. Before we left in our new truck, Frank educated us on all of the various computerized features and even sat in the truck with us and helped us get connected to ONSTAR for our trial period. We could not have done that without him. In addition to Frank, Daniel, in the finance department, was truly delightful. Our visit with him was relaxed and took on a personable tone instead of a business tone. That was, by far, the most pleasant financial car purchasing experience we've ever had. He laid out the warranty options and never pressured us to purchase things we did not need or want. Before we left in our new truck we already had our appointment to return to have the running boards installed and the bed liner sprayed in. Our loaner truck will be waiting for us when we arrive. Where does this review start ! Car buying process can be such a hassle when you Young and a Woman! so I've been round and round trying to find  a car that i was happy with payments i were happy with and getting the most for my trade!! Today  car shopping online plays a big part, i remember as a child going with my parents to countless dealerships haggling and getting the best deal BUT I'm so surprised at these other reviews. I was working with Covert Chevy in bastrop about 30 mins outside the city and don't get me wrong the sales rep i was working with was great but after getting financed through my CU I was looking for the car i want within the parameters . All the way down to the final buzzer they said they were going to get it done ! The day i was suppose to go buy my car they said we can't make the deal happen ! wow all this time and now this!!! Capital Chevy by far was THE BEST Dealership to deal with even before i step foot on the lot ! I did a online inquiry on a vehicle and got connected with David in the internet department what can i say he followed up with multiple times via email not the  annoying 24/7 phone calls other dealers do even if you specify that you prefer email . got me in and out in 2 hours got me the car i wanted at the price i wanted ! Easy and straight to the point , Being in the medical field I am HUGE on customer service and efficiency . The great experience didn't stop there the have a on sight allstate agent name Kim and she is such a gem ! Being with my age and my kind of spotty driving record i was a little early in leaving state farm , but HA she got me savings of almost $100 a month!!! can you say wow !!! We're all told to not trust car dealers, they're the devil, but I have to admit we had the most pleasant car buying experience. Brenda Saucedo is amazing! She within a five minute phone call got my attention and kept it! I had already set my sights on a 2013 Dodge Ram at an entirely different dealership, but decided we'll give Brenda a chance. I just purchased my first Chevy vehicle from Capitol Chevrolet - a 2014 Silverado. After the buying experience and driving my truck for a few weeks, I think it's safe to say that I'm going to be a loyal Chevy buyer / driver from now on! The sales person was helpful and patient in answering all of my questions. I drove several vehicles including 2013 and 2014 models. He was very knowledgeable of the features of each year and model. Once I drove the 2014 Silverado, the upgrades were obvious even to a first time pick-up owner like me. When my truck was ready to drive off the lot, he helped me set up the On-Star, satellite radio, and other features. I had visited other Chevy dealerships and received price quotes. Capitol Chevy didn't play the "start high and then haggle" game. The FIRST price they gave me beat the lowest prices at the other dealerships. I hate leaving a car dealership wondering if I got a good deal. I was absolutely satisfied with the price I paid for my car. I did additional internet research after the purchase and confirmed that the price I paid was as good / low as you were going to get anywhere. My first oil change was free. Rather than having to wait around, Capitol Chevy offered me a loaner vehicle so I could get back to my office and get some work done until my truck was ready to be picked up. The service was done quickly and professionally. EVERYONE I've dealt with -- even just going back to pick up my license plates - has been unbelievably friendly. Reading the other Yelp reviews, it looks like some individuals had some pretty specific circumstances related to parts orders, etc and decided that the best way to vent their frustration was to write a 1 star review. I normally am not one tot make it a habit of writing reviews on services and companies, but I think it's my duty to inform the public about extra special people that accually go out of their way to heip customers by extending their concern and working dilegently to make a customer happy and feel secure that their problem is being handled promptly and professionally. I own a 2009 Pontiac G8 that GM was taken out of production the same year I purchased my car. Well, I guess everyone gets a lemon at some point in their life, My turn came up when I bought this vehicle. Since there were no Pontiac dealers anymore, Capitol Chevrolet Service and Parts have been my best friends. I have been dealing with Jesse Vega (service writer) and Brian Tanner (parts mgr.). If it weren't for their help and their expertise in custormer service, by that, I mean keeping me informed on what's going on, without me having to call the dealer, giving me not only the company phone number, but their personal cell number if I needed anything immediately. I"m usually skeptial about trusting service departments.....Not in this case. I would definitley recommend Capitol Chevrolet to anyone buying a Chevrolet product for two reasons. (1) Chevrolet is an excellent product (I also own a Chevrolet 1500 series) and (2) for the honesty that I have experienced dealing with these two professionals. I'll be forever in your debt for all you two guys have done for me. Thanking you again Capitol Chevrolet for having such great employees to represent you. Talk about the best customer service experience at a dealership! I had been looking for a car for quite a while. A relative recommended this dealership but I was hesitant to give them a try. I figured I would save myself the embarrassment and do what I can online. I was approved for a roadsloan package--up to $23,000, $350 down, and 18% interest rate, yes 18. My credit is "very poor". When I finally reached out to Capitol, I was trying to get what I can with no money down. Lazarus, internet sales, called me the next day. I was honest, I told him I wanted a 2013 Malibu LT1 with no money down. I told him about roadloans and he insisted he can do better. I was skeptical but said ok. He called me at the end of the day and was able to offer no money down and an 8.9% rate--roadloans and another dealer in San Antonio had me at 18-20% on the interest. When I got there Lazarus was very professional and answered any questions I had. He took me for a test drive, then we got down to business. He has a great team that made this deal go smoothly. From the finance department to the service department. There was even an insurance agent from Allstate that gave me a quote. No pressure at all, just trying to get you a better deal. And he did! I will be changing over to them because of this. The whole process was a no pressure experience. At any point if you felt like walking away or didn't feel right, you can do it. My recommendation for anyone buying a new or used car, give Capitol a try first. Be honest and tell them what you want and what you are willing to work with. I needed extensive service on my 2006 Corvette. I did a google search for reviews on dealerships in Austin and their service departments. One person's name came up on different sites with very good reviews and that was Joey Cardosi at Capitol Chevrolet in South Austin. I called Joey, told him how I got his name and that I needed service and did not want another bad experience at a dealership service department. He introduced me to the service technician and discussed some possible causes of my car issues and the cost of repairing them. I left my car with Joey and within 30 minutes he called me to say that my car had two recalls on it. Joey asked if Capitol Chevrolet could go ahead and take care of those recalls at no charge while they had my car! Early the next day Joey called me with a description of what they had found. I gave approval for the work to be done. The next day Joey called me to say the car was ready and that he had found a way to save me several hundred dollars on the repairs and asked for permission to detail my car before I picked it up. I have never gotten the level of attention or follow through that I received from Joey Cardosi at Capitol Chevrolet. Joey followed though on the recalls and he was able to order me a brand new targa top for my Corvette at no charge. The service department installed hood struts free of charge that I had already purchased from a parts store. Joey's service was the best I have ever received from any car repair business.
