Paper plates and plastic utensils, need I say more.... The food had no flavor at ALL

Completely disappointing. went to this coffee house for breakfast with my girlfriend, and I wasn't expecting to get poor service, especially with this location being near the state house. once I enter the establishment, the person at the front desk did greet us, which was somewhat welcoming, but they were very hesitant because me and my girlfriend are people of color. I ordered the capital breakfast meal and my girlfriend ordered a croissant toasted with cheddar cheese and bacon as she is allergic to eggs. We then proceeded to sit down at the counter to wait for our food because we are dining in . We sat down for about three minutes and was told we have to pay for our food first before we get it. Which I thought was odd. Meanwhile, there are two other customers in the establishment. One customer was almost finished with his meal. My girlfriend and I noticed when he was done and got up, then he went to go pay for his food..!!! so how is it that he got his food first without paying for it but we have to pay for our food before we get ours!!!!... here's the kicker we were served on paper plates...eating utensils were plastic...!!! this place is prejudice and racist!!! the food was horrible!!! I will not recommend going to this establishment..!!! my rating : five thumbs down!!!!

On the left across from the State House.

Hubs said my hot chocolate was a Swiss Miss packet. It was fine cuz it was undrinksbly hot which was good once it cooled down, Glad they were here cuz we needed a place to sit and get something to drink after walking upwards to find Beacon Hill. Pretty much a solid, stoic coffee shop. I witnessed you probably need to be a regular saying ciao to get a smile out of the gentleman behind the counter, It served its purpose for us then we were on our way to discover Acorn Street.

    The counter area, order here!

Capitol Coffee House is a little corner spot directly across the street from the side of the State House. It has a great view of the street and the Capitol. We came there for a reasonably priced breakfast, and we were not disappointed! I had the Italian Omelette which came with homestyle potatoes and toast. It was one of the better breakfasts I had in Boston! It seems like there are a lot of regulars who stop in and chat, which was a great aspect in my opinion. Anyplace that has repeat customers is a good choice! I recommend the window seats as they have the best view of what's happening on Beacon Hill.

A great place to start the day at - a neighborhood spot with lots of tasty and hearty options, I was especially pleased with their bagel breakfast sandwiches. very big, chewy bagels, yum!

This was a great spot to grab breakfast after dropping off my luggage. I got their turkey egg sandwich with pepperjack cheese and a hot chocolate. They use paper plates and the place exudes efficiency and reliability as well as kindness. I sat at the counter facing the windows outside and enjoyed my sandwich and drink, it was just what I needed that morning.

Less "coffee house" and more short order. Located right across from the Ashburton entrance to the Capitol, this place is a little bit less "coffee house" and tilts a little bit more towards "diner." It's far from fancy. This is the spot to grab a quick bite and stick to the simple stuff. I got a coffee (Do they have latte here? Maybe, but probably not and definitely not your mocchachino.) with a breakfast bagel sandwich. Efficient, quick and not special. But good. No complaints here. Capitol Coffee House gets it done.

Nice place for a quick coffee and sandwich. I tired their croissant with butter and it was pretty good. Enjoyed the coffee too. It's in a busy location but there is plenty of room. A variety of options too.

Don't go to Dunkin' around the corner. Go to Capitol Coffee House instead. (Trust me, you'll thank me.) CCH's coffee is stronger, cheaper, and yummier. Their food is diner/deli style; don't expect anything healthy here, but it's real food, cooked real fast, right in front of you. Love the vibe of locals. An authentic (and delicious) gem in Boston!

Cashier got our order wrong, Okay-sized portion, English omelet is just a standard omelet with bacon, cheese, and vegetables. Is this Boston culture?

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this adorable coffee house and were so glad we did! It's simple delicious and quick. The omelette was fresh and HOT and the home fries were crispy and cooked to perfection. Would definitely return

Great little place, nice people and great food! Don't miss this stop!

This is a must stop in downtown Boston! Great food made with fresh ingredients, great friendly service, and the best vanilla latte I have ever tasted. Delicious espresso with the creamiest frothy too!

She was so excited when she found Cafe Bonjour because they had several gluten-free options on the menu. We took an Uber there right after we landed and were able to walk right in and get a table when they opened, which worked out perfectly because the place started to fill up! It's a cute little spot with plenty of seating inside, and they also had a nice outdoor parklet that would be great in good weather. We asked to sit at the bar so we could watch the cooks in action, which was really fun. The menu had all the classic breakfast favorites like eggs and French toast, along with some lunch options like hamburgers and chicken wraps. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the gluten-free eggs benedict and absolutely loved it. I had the Bonjour omelet, and it was delicious. Overall, this is a fantastic breakfast spot with great food, a fun atmosphere, and solid gluten-free options.

Waiter didn't bring out water, didn't offer any cream or sugar for coffees, and was difficult to flag down to ask for extra plates/utensils. Other than that I'd stop somewhere else for a brunch.

Prior to visiting Boston, I did my research on things to do and places to eat. Every search for…read morebreakfast spots mentioned Mike & Patty's as a must stop for the best breakfast sandwich you're going to get anywhere. Enough said! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.
