But serving it all up hot and fresh only to be handed the cheapest limpest plastic ware to use to eat it seems a little short sighted. We love Capo'sTacos!! One of favorite go to restaurants in Hot Springs!! Pretty much everything here is delicious ! We always have to order the avocado fries and the chips and queso! This time we ordered the barbacoa empanadas-yum! And the hubby tried the southern chicken taco( now called chicken milanese)- there was a problem between the order register and the kitchen on this item and it wasn't until our waitress checked on us that the problem was figured out. Decided to take a drive south to the old Spa City & visit family & friends, while in town we hit Oaklawn, & decided to have lunch... Capos Tacos, the logo? Interesting but uniquely authentic, reminds me of when I used to run around in Quintana Roo w/my soul mate Irish many, many years ago. To start I had locally brewed Lost 40 draft that gave me a chuck norris jolt paired w/a refreshing ceviche, the ceviche was not over limed & had balance of sweet spice to it, & queso w/chorizo, consistency on point but the chorizo was full of flavor & not drenched w/spices which is usually the case. My 2nd beer came my pick of four tacos My favorite in order, Ribeye, Pastor, oyster (yes, it was a delight), Rajas en cream & corn.... my words cannot begin to explain the whirlwind of emotions I experienced w/every bite. Careful, tacos are handmade = A hunk of a size, so reserve space for the best 3 Leches You will ever inhale, & I have had my share. You will see Capo running around, tall young fellow, w/an expression of humility & making sure patrons are tended too, he sure went out of his way to make us feel @ home. This place was such a nice little surprise. I've had let downs with al la carte taco places before, but I was far from disappointed here. Even though the taco I got was the most expensive on the menu (still only $6) I found it pretty worth it. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the flavor profile was just incredible - a great combination of Mexican and American flavors. The horchata was also seemingly fresh, which adds a lot in my book. Having chicharrones instead of chips was also a unique touch. Our server was also very friendly. My only tiny gripe is that, even with the entrees, rice is not included, but otherwise I would definitely come here again (but I'll probably just get two tacos instead of ordering a side - that's how good it was). read more

Great little taco place across from casino! Lots of different varieties of tacos and other Mexican fare to choose from. I had the southern fried chicken tacos, ground beef tacos, and side of queso with endless chips & salsa. Queso was very cheesy and went great with the seemingly fresh chips & salsa. I also ordered a frozen house margarita, and damn, what a margarita. They don't pour lightly here. (Also, $2 regular margaritas during happy hour, WHAT?) Yes, this is the best place to get a taco or burrito in Hot Springs. Is it fine dining? No, but they use the same principle as a fine dining place. They use fresh ingriedients and higher quality of meats. They make their own salsa's. The food is very good and I would without question recommend this place to anyone. The atmosphere is nice with new furnishings and bright colors. They have a nice bar area with tv's. The servers were happy and accommodating and that is a big plus. Our server, John, was amazing! Great personality and helpful suggestions. He got some beer samples for my husband to try before deciding. I had a chile lime mango margarita first. It was tasty, but I was wishing for some chamoy in it. Next up I tried the house marg. Woah was it good! 10x better than the mango! We ordered chips and salsa, which were also great. I love little chunks in my salsa. Hubby got regular tacos and devoured them in mere minutes. I'm a more adventurous eater, so I ordered the quesa birria (as suggested by John) and a Baja taco. The birria had just the right amount of fillings to toppings, and then I dipped it into the greasy delicious jus...my mouth is watering while writing this review! Get the napkins ready! Messy but worth it. The Baja was good too. The batter was a little think on the fish, but it's okay for such a big taco. Great topping of the mango slaw, but be prepared for a kick. I'm by no means a Texas Tender-mouth and eat everything spicy. But this one lit my mouth up! A delicious burn, I might say. My son had a huge plate of chicken tenders and fries which he enjoyed too.
