Found this place on Yelp for good oysters . They recently opened up. The vibe is so real as soon as you walk in. It was early dinner time so the place was empty. Our server was so kind and helpful. I got oysters and my hubby got crab legs. We got the spiciest flavor ... yes our server was hesitant but what can i say../ we love spice!! And it hit so good! Loved it! We were in town for a soccer tournament and went to this place. Coming from California we have a lot of these out our way, but this one was by far the best tasting that we have ever had. Seafood boil is one of the few things that our fam can agreed upon. Most of these places are pretty standard and unfortunately one of the standards is that the boil is too buttery and salty. Not this place. Capt Loui is probably the BEST seafood boil place that we've ever had. Starting with the ambiance and service, everything was top notch. The place is SO clean and well organized. You don't feel like you need to take a shower after eating here. We got 2 lbs of snow crab and 2 lbs of shrimp. Both were excellent. The crab was so juicy and full of meat. The flavoring was just right and everything was cooked to perfection. Got the corn and potato combo in the boil and garlic noodles on the side. The noodles were a little dry but still good Finished off the meal with some funnel fries and beignets. Both were solid but I wouldn't say a must have. Overall we're SO glad to have found our new seafood boil place. If you love seafood in a bag, gotta check it out! read more

Food was amazing great! We ordered 4lbs of food. Snow crab, shrimp, crawfish with sausage, potatoes, and corn. Love how they toss everything in front of you. My first time here was on the 12th and Anna was my waitress, she was amazing! Very attentive and explained how the menu works. I visited again today and I believe I had Sima. She was also very attentive and nice. It was not busy so the food came out quick. Everything is up to par for what you pay for. I love their capt loui sauce for my seafood bag which I did not take a picture of. I got hot both times and it's not super spicy but I have a high heat tolerance. Beware competition -- this place is killer! My FIRST and certainly NOT my last time here! I started with a dozen raw which came out promptly. They were plump and juicy - excellent! I anxiously awaited my 4lbs of live crawfish which came with three free boil items! Wow! Aaron who gave great service - suggested I add the side of garlic butter noodles and let me tell you I am so glad I did. The tails with the noodles was an epic combo I never knew I needed! If you're going to take this mega short cut while boiling your sauce has to banging! No seasoning inside the shell what's so ever. Meat as white as can be. My first time at Capt Loui with some old and new friends for a late lunch. Short answer, we had an amazing time. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that we were there for a looong time (sorry to the staff) and had an amazing time. Where did the time go?? Staff was very understanding and they left us alone to enjoy our time together. Worth appreciating for sure. I realized they had recently opened so I came with a certain expectation as any new restaurants need time to work out kinks and etc. Surprisingly to me, everything went smoothly. Our server and also Hannah (Manager) were both highly attentive and helped us refill our drink on numerous occasion. It was our server's first day but he did great. I could tell there were some trainings going on for some of the new staff so little bit of patience might go a long way. At the end of the day, great attitude and hustle is what matters and they certainly over exceeded my expectation in that regard. As for the food, I thought it was great. We had clams, shrimp, lobster along with corn, sausage and potatoes. We would have eaten more but we were too busy talking and laughing... next time, I'll be taking my wife to eat....and not talk at all. We ordered Capt Loui sauce per recommendation and it did not disappoint. I might try the "spicy" next time.....maybe. But "medium" was perfect if you want to play it safe. As for the churros Ala mode...shut the front door!! I'm just going to say it was so good, we ate it in a micro second. Tonight we had the boil for 4 with the Capt Loui mild seasoning with snow crab, lobster tail, and shrimp. Everything was so fresh from the seafood to the corn on the cob. I've been to several seafood boils from the west and this has to be one of the best ones I've been to. The Capt Loui seasoning has the perfect blend of spices and not overly salty, like some other places I've been to. It's so good, I even bought a bottle (they sell it at the restaurant). The seafood was so yummy! Try the fries, too!! Perfect combo of sweet and salty! The fun drinks in the bag were a hit! The service was amazing and Aaron, our server, was so attentive and super nice. We were a very large group with 30 people (soccer team) traveling for a soccer tournament, and they were able to accommodate us! It's clean and I love the outside sink!!! I was so excited when I saw that a seafood boil spot was opening so close to me, I knew I had to try it! I love to try out new food spots and the area this spot is in has so many options. I visited this place seeing all the amazing reviews but I really do want to give my honest feedback in the likelihood that it's helpful to someone else. I agree with all the reviews that mention how clean this place is because honestly at a seafood place sometimes the smell alone can turn you off before you sit down. The bathroom was clean and there's a separate tub sink to wash your hands after digging in. The staff were so sweet and even recommended a cheaper way to get the items we wanted with a special they were running! We would've been none the wiser so super appreciative for that cheat code. The market prices for the seafood itself weren't too bad but the price for the extra sauce was about $8.95 which was a little surprising. I do wish they offered smaller options for that. Now for the food... Dare I say, what makes or breaks the seafood boil for me is the house sauce. It's what I always order, usually medium/hot. This spot had Capt. Loui and lemon pepper as the offerings so we went with Capt. Loui/Hot which didn't pack much heat. I'd go with one level up if you want the slight nose running sensation haha. The sauce was a little too sweet for me. It was missing some of the acid that would usually break it down as I like my sauce on the tangier side. Also ordered sausages as a side but was very surprised that they came very thinly sliced - almost shaved. A major reason I probably wouldn't visit again is the wait. It did take a very long time for our initial order to arrive and when it did it wasn't very hot. We ordered the side sauce and sausage after our food came and we reached a point of waiting where we stopped eating because we needed the extra sauce. When it finally came, the butter was cold so it was a little disappointing. I was able to order some lemons on the side which helped brighten up the sauce a lot more though. All around, I probably won't be visiting again but it wasn't a terrible experience. Like I said, the staff and establishment itself were amazing but the sauce is maybe just not for me. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time last night. It was absolutely amazing! The food was excellent. We tried the shrimp po'boy, fries with Cajun seasoning, lemon pepper wings, and a shrimp and crawfish bucket. Their Capt Loui seasoning is fantastic! I compare every place to Red Claws because that has been my favorite for years. Capt Loui's is better to me because it's not as salty and they didn't overload the bag with too much seasoning so I could still taste and enjoy the shellfish. The wings were fried to perfection, nice and crunchy, they give you the seasoning on the side and we appreciated that. It wasn't a super salty lemon pepper and had a touch of sweetness that was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was nice and clean. They had some smooth jazz playing giving it a Bourbon St vibe. Plenty of tables and seating options with a huge sink to wash up before and after you eat. Aside from the delicious food the next best thing was the service. Eli and Jiho both took care of us. They were attentive, professional and very pleasant. Checked on us several times and were always respectful and smiling when they came by. All of the servers kept busy doing something and I didn't see one person who worked there on their phone. Rare nowadays, but especially when everyone that worked there appeared to be under 25. Seafood cooked properly unlile some places that butcher the shrimps or clams or lobsters to overcooked and the meat is dry. Flavor is pretty standard with boiling crab. Food is a bit on the pricier side (about 50 percent more than kicking crab). Restaurant ambiance is great, like a fisherman's wharf type of a feel. I came here the other day to try some Cajun seafood and it was very mid. The live crawfish was almost $20 for a pound which I think is way too overpriced compared to some other places nearby. The sauce with the cf was not flavorful at all and I didn't really like how the butter raised to the top. We also got the softshell po boy which was probably the best thing we had. The service was phenomenal as our server was very attentive. I liked the vibe of the place but we were pretty much the only customer there peak dinner time.
