So my best friend was in town for a meeting and we decided to have dinner here. The food & ambiance was great but the service we received from Vicky was not so great. Her demeanor was as if she didn't want to be there. My best friend asked a few questions about some menu items and her reply was really "snarky" and she just walked away. She came back to take our order and her body language said "hurry up". When our food came out Vicky did not ask if there was anything else we needed before she walked away again and didn't come back until i got the attention of another server and when he offered to refill our drinks she came back to our table trying to listen to our conversation. We also witnessed her sitting at a booth while taking a family's order. Again the food & ambiance is 5 STARS but it's the service from Vicky that made us both upset. I went here on a Saturday afternoon during the NBA playoffs and the Warriors were playing. Ordered 6 oysters on a half shell and the low country boil. I ordered the fusion flavor "Hot" and was extremely disappointed. To start the flavor was very bland. The cook put a ridiculously small amount of liquid seasoning in the bag the boil came in. The crab was not fresh and overcooked, as well as the shrimp. I'm used to getting hotlinks in crab boils so getting sausage with zero favor was a surprising letdown. The food cooled off super quick which makes me question their method of heating the food. Finally, the service I received was trash. She took my order and asked if I wanted anything else and when the food came and never came back with the condiments I requested. She only came to drop off checks and then would run back to the kitchen to hide from customers. Another customer and I both had to get other employees to help us while dining. 5/1/22 First off, I'm OBSESSED with this place. In this last week alone, I've probably ordered about four days almost in a row. (I'm pescatarian so good and legit seafood places are few in my opinion.) but this place.. *chef's kiss*. Do not be fooled by the very FEW negative reviews. Staff, management, they're amazing. So much so last night I pulled an opposite "Karen" and asked to talk to the manager to just praise the 17 year old host and the establishment as a whole. I am also in the service industry and have been for years and while no place is perfect Captain Crab.. They do their best and it SHOWS. Their food is fresh, clean, flavorful, and AMAZING. I've never had a bad experience dining in and most of my food ordered is to-go but they handle every order with love and care. They have NEVER messed up an order of mine and are timely and mindful of what you specify for spice/flavor etc. Pricing is very reasonable for seafood especially given rising prices for everything these days. I HIGHLY recommend Captain Crab. I know I'm only one person, and readers can take what I say with a grain of salt (ha to the "salty" reviewer) but they have a forever regular outta me. Good food good service came in around closing and they still served us with great hospitality

Ordered snow crab legs from Captain Crab last night on Door Dash. Overnight and this morning, I got incredibly sick with all of the dreadful symptoms (vomiting etc) of food poisoning. Google'd and it appears that food poisoning from contaminated shellfish (bacteria) can cause this (true to my experience.) Just called the restaurant to let them know and the young woman answering the phone put me on hold for a long time. When she came back, she told me her manager said if I had a doctor's note, they would give me a gift card to the restaurant. I don't want their money, I don't want a gift card there and I most definitely do NOT want more of their crab legs. I would've liked to speak to a manager who took my public health concern seriously. The manager didn't even get on the phone with me. I was just looking for empathy and for them to look into what happened with their crab legs last night. Wondering if anyone else ordered from there last night and got sick? PS - when I told the hostess that I didn't want their money I just wanted them to show some concern for people getting sick from their contaminated food, her response was a flippant "thank you for your advice." read more

We saw the ad in Facebook so we tried this place, yes the food actually was very good but the service was terrible. These people never smiled, they act like you're bothering them and they are terribly insufficient. We ordered 3 steam pots, 5 of us in the table, they brought 1 crab cracker, when we asked for more, they brought 1. The place is also dirty, menu is minimal. The most horrific experience I've ever had!!! Yesterday evening I ordered the Ultimate captain special with the captain special sauce with no heat, which could feed a family of two with a side of white rice. The young lady who took my order over the ph was very helpful with all my questions that I asked over the ph an her wonderful customer service in person was a perfect 10!! On my drive home the food smelled amazing I couldn't zoom home fast enough to feast. Let's just say the smell was most definitely deceiving. The corn,potatoes shrimp with the head on an mussels was Bussin Bussin as my younger niece an nephew say lol in other words it was very delicious! However I couldn't say the the same about the captain's special which was very watery with to much oil which made it very thin and bland. The snow crab was very awful an dirty literally. The did a horrible job with cleaning the crab which still had the green poo (shit) just oozing out of the knuckle meat which tasted gritty and disgusting. The white rice was very gummy. I couldn't even finish my food knowing that the crab was in the same bag as the rest of my food it became a complete turn off I was No longer hungry. I instantly grabbed my ph an called an requested to speak with a manager!! I spoke with the rudest non empathy having manger by the name of Steven or Stephen, regardless of what his name was he was very rude. As I was explaining to him my issues instead of letting me talk he tried to over talk an rush me off the ph as if I was bothering him sorry not sorry!! After being on the ph with him for over 5min we finally came with the solution for me to bring my leftovers the following day and they make my entire meal again with extra shrimp. It's now Wednesday evening I called the restaurant prior to me coming to make sure they will still honor remaking my meal. I spoke with a manager by the name of Eric who was fabulous! I arrived to the restaurant the young lady took my leftovers an stated it will be ready in about 10-15 minutes. No sooner then she walked to the back another staff member comes the front to inform me that my new order will not be made an I will not be receiving a refund back of $71. At this point I'm livid an I ask why?? She proceeded to say that due to some of the food was eaten therefore nothing can be done!! I must of blew a fuse I stated to her my entire meal I brought back I explained that I the crab was placed in the trash an was thrown out! She went to the back an came back to the front with her personal iPhone with the manger Steven or Stephen on the ph speaking very loudly and very aggressive to her as he was trying to speak to me the night before. I refused to speak with him again because he lacked customer service skills and that is most definitely one of the major traits that is needed which is communication skills. She informed him that I did not wish to speak with him then they proceeded to speak in their primary language very loudly an aggressively about the situation while on speaker ph in front of me about me who is still the customer. That completely was a No No!! At this point another employee on the work ph reached out to the manager Eric who I spoke with earlier. I spoke with him and he apologized for everything I had to encounter an offered to give me the country boil for free!! He was not able to do more due to he was not there an he would need the approval from his boss!! Bottom line I had the worst experience ever with this restaurant an especially since that was my first time!!! It was never the fact that the crab was not cleaned properly I get it things happen, it was the lack of excellent customer that the manager displayed an gave to me as a paying customer!! It was not a pleasant experience an more than likely I will not be back!!! read more

Went to this place on Thursday had the seafood boil buy one get second half off it was pretty good but very salty. Server's do need to be a little more attentive to customers as far as refills on drinks had to ask when cup was empty. Also I thought the crab was a little small but was good and sweet. This is my favorite restaurant right now. It's always good. I keep ordering the shrimp 2 ways because it's so good. I bring my own gloves because their gloves are too big. Always hot & fresh. My group Came in and was served by a nice waitress and my table didn't end up leaving until after hours. I noticed once I got in my car that I didn't have my ring on and that I left it on the table, I tried to get back in but no one was around to open it back up. So I called first thing in the morning 30 mins before they even opened. And spoke to the manager and I asked him if a ring has been turned in to him and with no hesitation he said "no" and I asked him if he can check the cameras and he said something else but once again with no hesitation that "we were placed in a blind spot so he couldn't see anything". I'm a little disappointed that my group was the last to leave the whole restaurant and I called 30 mins before they opened up again to hear them tell me it's not there smh the manager obviously didn't check the table area or call the other servers to ask. We were the largest group going in for lunch on a Saturday. It was our first time. Our waitress, Brandi, was the best server ever! We told her it was our first time and she completely understood. She was so patient and answered every question. When we placed our order and asked her to repeat the details, she did it from memory. She brought our food out with a big smile on her face.
