Amazing service and food! The hostess decorated our table for my sister's birthday, and I believe they can also decorate for other special occasions as well. The waiter was very patient, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. He was consistent in checking in on us during our visit. This place definitely has the best ceasar salad i've ever had. It was super fresh and crunchy, dressing was not too strong, and the croutons were crispy on the outside, but softer on the inside. Their other items were also delicious, and the truffle fries were a lot larger than I had anticipated. Worth the price. The lobster ravioli was amazing, creamy and came with lobster pieces.

Came here for our anniversary dinner. We got the wedge salad, lobster mac and cheese, and steak with garlic butter. The salad was hard to eat on such a small plate. It did not taste like anything special. The lobster mac and cheese was good. It had a fair amount of lobster too. Steaks were cooked well and had good flavor. For dessert we got the cheesecake and keylime pie. Both were great but I liked the key lime pie a lot more. Overall a good experience for special occasions.

Stopped by for a business dinner at the Sacramento California location. What a great experience, they gave us a private room there was about 7 of us in the party. The server was so professional and knowledgeable of everything on the menu. All the guests in the party enjoyed the food everything came out timely and was prepared well. Definitely a location we would visit again.

Morton's is known for great steak and that's what I had when I went to Morton's for a special dinner. We had reservations and were seated right away. We ordered the 36 oz. Tomahawk Ribeye, 16 oz. Ribeye, Lobster Ravioli, Loaded Baked Potato, Lobster Macaroni Shells and Cheese, and Bacon-wrapped Seared Sea Scallops. For dessert, we ordered creme brûlée and received a celebratory chocolate cake. Both the Tomahawk ribeye and 16oz. ribeye were cooked medium rare and tasted delicious. The 16oz. ribeye was a little more tender. We added black truffle butter, which made the ribeye so much better. We also tried the horseradish, but I enjoyed the black truffle butter far better. The sides were all really good. I loved the bacon wrapped scallops. The mac and cheese was great with lobster pieces mixed in. The Maine lobster ravioli was good, but I only had a bite. The baked potato was huge and good. The creme brûlée was really good, but we were getting full. I really enjoyed the small chocolate cake with ice cream. We had some cocktails, which were good. Service was pretty good during the beginning, but had a harder time finding our servers towards the end of the meal. The restaurant was clean, classy, and designed for a special occasion. Overall, I had a really great meal at Morton's.

Wow! Pleasantly surprised with our meal at Morton's! I haven't been to a steakhouse in a while but man this was good! The dumplings, the steak (of course), the creamed corn, the crab cakes, everything was delicious! Also our server Manny was super cool and took amazing care of us. Highly recommend, can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu! Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 Marcels foodie score: 5

Morton's Steakhouse -- Downtown Sacramento (Bar seating) 5 stars We went for a post‑Valentine's treat and left totally delighted. We sat at the bar and ordered cocktails, the Cajun ribeye, mac and cheese, creamed spinach with mushrooms, and the cheesecake for dessert. Everything was classic Morton's - perfectly cooked, rich, and comforting. The mac and cheese had a crunchy breadcrumb top and real, buttery pasta, and the Cajun ribeye had great seasoning without masking the beef. The creamed spinach was silky and the mushrooms hit the savory note just right. Service was top‑tier: patient, attentive, and full of solid recommendations. The bartenders and servers made us feel welcome without hovering, and the staff created a relaxed, upscale vibe that's perfect for people‑watching (side note: we saw a regular bring his dog in and ordered its own steak -- very Morton's). The real standout was Morton's coffee dessert cocktail -- warm, boozy, and luxurious, with Bailey's, cocoa, and cream that transported me straight to a snowy ski‑lodge resort. It was the perfect after‑dinner sip alongside the cheesecake, which had a silky mousse/cheesecake texture, glossy caramel, and crunchy crumble on top. Atmosphere is dim, classic, and a little clubby -- ideal for date night or a special family outing. They also mentioned a VIP bar perk where heavy spenders get white‑table service in the bar, which sounds fancy and fun for regulars. Morton's has been a family tradition for us across states, and this visit didn't disappoint. If you want reliably excellent steakhouse food, polished service, and an indulgent coffee cocktail to end the night, book a spot at the bar and settle in.

One of my favorite steakhouses. I came here to celebrate my retirement with some good friends. Treat us to a steak dinner. As usual we were not disappointed. The steaks were brought out to the perfect temperature. The service was great from each station. The ambiance was very exquisite and pleasant.

I came with a friend to enjoy their happy hour on a Thursday evening. We decided to sit at their bar. The ambiance is always lovely with a dim and swanky feel and usually lively as it was this night. We ordered the short rib tacos which came 3 to an order. Even though we let them sit for a while since we were busy chatting lol the texture and flavor was still amazing! The tortilla stayed soft even once cooled down. The meat was tender and the sauce was a nice accompaniment. We also shared the mini crab cakes. They were tasty and cooked perfectly, mostly crab with not a lot of filler as they should be. I just wish there were more in each serving lol. I've had their prime rib sliders, wedge salad bites and their burger in visits last and they were all good. This place still does hospitality right. Our bartenders Rachel, Steven and Zack were all friendly, welcoming and very efficient given how busy it was. I'm a little clumsy sometimes lol and I spilled my martini right after it was set down and they were quick to make me another one which was very much appreciated. If you ask nicely they'll even give you blue cheese stuffed olives which I love. The martinis are shaken to perfection, served with tiny ice crystals along the top. Dinner here is always excellent as well.

We have been here a few times before: once before for my wife's birthday & for happy hour a couple times but first time during covid & our anniversary. My wife invited good friends of ours to share good times together! We had dinner reservations plus we know it's difficult to find parking especially if there's an event at Golden 1 center. We lucked out that night there wasn't an event going on so we found a space nearby. They do offer valet parking but good luck with that. When you come to Morton's the lighting is very dark. Wasn't sure if our pics would turn out:))) They seated us on the corner end by the chef window & nearby restrooms. Our server Rick was very polite & helpful if you needed descriptions on your entree other than beef. No one on our table had beef and that's what the chain yet prestigious restaurant is known for. He honored our requests of split tabs too. It was our anniversary and we received menus that said Happy Anniversary on it. How classy & thoughtful! I ordered the chopped house salad & Rick asked if my wife & I would want to share it? I guess my wife took charge & said yes! It's a good thing bc it was more than enough for both of us! I ordered the prime 16 ounce pork chop & lobster tail while my wife ordered the fresh Ora grilled king salmon on a bed of veggies that had a lot spices on it. Maybe a little over spiced? my wifey said. I did enjoy my very thick pork chops cooked in butter & shared my two bite lobster with wife. Friends who were with us ordered French fries while we were all eating. They encouraged us to have some as they didn't want to take those fries home. Sorry no pic as we were too focused on eating & enjoying each other's company! Yummy goodness! I remembered those fries from HH there! Wife wanted the creme brulee there so she ordered it right away! I think if you order the molten cake or sundae you have to wait 35 minutes but not for the crème brulee or chocolate mousse. By dessert time the restaurant was completely packed house & covid variant wasn't completely gone yet! Our waiter was really running that night! And my wife was very happy bc they comped the dessert & brought one comped creme brulee for our friends too! Happy wife; happy life right? Also another female employee with a camera took a pic of us & brought an anniversary card with pic in it! What a nice & fabulous gesture to end the evening! This restaurant knows how to take care of you in the best way possible as the manager came by our table too. When does that ever happen? Very rare for sure! It was our best anniversary celebrations ever! Thank you Morton's for taking care of us. I'm sure we will be back again for that very special annual celebration! And in actuality we have!!!

I surprised my girlfriend with a reservation at this restaurant for her birthday, hoping for a special, romantic evening. What unfolded was one of the most disappointing and uncomfortable dining experiences we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, things felt off. The gentleman at the door immediately asked whose birthday it was. When my girlfriend excitedly told him it was hers, his entire energy shifted. He looked skeptical and made it blatantly obvious that he didn't believe us like we were trying to scam a free dessert or something. It was awkward and rude right from the start. We were seated, but then we waited over 30 minutes just to even place our order. Our waiter was nowhere to be found. We had to keep flagging him down for basic things like menus, water refills, or condiment's . Ironically, the water server was far more attentive and helpful than our actual assigned waiter. The whole service felt neglectful and unprofessional. To make matters worse, I was wearing my Meta AI glasses and documented the entire painful experience every long wait, every ignored request so we could review it properly later. I'll be posting a full food and service review on TikTok soon. I'll let others decide for themselves just how bad it was. As we were finally leaving, the same doorman smirked and said, "Hey, happy birthday, eh," in the most sarcastic, insincere way possible. It felt like he had intentionally gone out of his way to ruin our night. Overall, I would never recommend this place. The service was shockingly poor, the staff seemed hostile, and what should have been a celebratory surprise turned into a memorable disaster for all the wrong reasons. Save your time and money go somewhere that actually values its guests.

We went for their power hour (happy hour). Their $10 cocktails were tasty! We also ordered the shrimp Louie salad, crab cakes, sliders & everything was tasty. The crab cakes were delicious however a bit pricey. You only get 2. Busy yet friendly ambiance + service.

Morton's The Steakhouse Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Morton's The Steakhouse

Do you accept credit cards for valet parking or cash only?

Valet is $15 for dinner parking. $25 for dinner plus event parking. Cash is easiest. But there is a sku you can scan to pay online.

    Do you have parking?

Hello J M, we only offer valet parking. Thank you.

    Do you serve prime rib?

Prime rib is currently as of March 2026, not an option on the menu

Is a sleeveless shirt but full coverage allowed (for females)? Are shorts allowed?

Hello Jaden, here is the link to our dress code below. Thank you. https://www.mortons.com/faqs/

    What is the corkage fee?

Hello, here are the fees, $50/750ml bottle or $55/1.5L bottle.

Do you do anything for anniversaries and birthdays?

Yes, for my birthday, they provided free dessert.

Is there a vegetarian option as I have some family that doesn't eat meat?

Hi Ashley, a popular vegetarian option is our Herb Roasted Cauliflower. While we do not have many vegetarian options on the menu, our chef would be more than happy to craft something off the menu to meet your family's dietary restrictions.

How much is the cakeage fee?

Our corkage fee for this location is $50/750ml bottle or $55/1.5L bottle.

Can you get a steak without chili powder or cumin on it ? High end beef has a wonderful flavor of its own .

Hi Teresa, our steaks are made to order so yes you can! Just let your server know.

Do they have a cork fee when bringing your own bottle of wine, if so, what's the price?

    Yes- it's $29.00 per 750 ml. Bottle.

Do you guys charge a corkage fee if we bring our own bottle of wine?

    Corkage is $35 for a 750ml and $50 for a 1.5ml bottle

Is there seating at the bar or only table seating due to Covid restrictions?

The last time I was there, you may order at the bar while you wait, but you must take it outside. No seating at the bar just yet, but with restrictions lifting this may change very soon!

Is there outdoor seating with heaters?

    Yes

Headed to Morton's for a family dinner it's 106 degrees , I get the "dress to impress" mentality, however, did I mention it's 106 degrees- thoughts on summer attire?

We recommend business attire or smart casual wear at Morton's. For men, a collared shirt and dress pants are appropriate. While a jacket and tie are not necessary, many of our male guests will be wearing a business suit. For women, business wear or…

Do they still have happy hour?

Mortons has a 'Bar Bites' menu... Everything's $7. Just go sit at the Bar after work🤗

Are the sides included in the price or do u pay separate for each side dish?

They are separate most of the time. Sometimes there are specials that come with, but plan on separate.

    Ruth's Chris or mortons?

It's a toss up. You can't go wrong either way

    What is the dress?

It's been my experience that it's business casual to more formal, however I have worn Wrangler's and a collared shirt at times. I have also eaten at Morton's in the summer months wearing nice shorts/shirt (more casual).

We got the "special" buy one pound get the next pound free so we did shrimp. We got shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and dungeness crab with the special blend in one bag. The hook and reel special blend was honestly pretty gross it was sweet, Smokey and not very buttery or salty at all. We asked for lemon pepper and extra butter to put inside(which was an extra charge) it made it a little better but I've definitely had better elsewhere. The garlic noodles were really good they had a soy sauce flavor, garlicky and cheesy. The price was pretty expensive considering I've spent $30 less elsewhere. Here at hook & reel I spent $96 The service was good. She was very kind and helpful but also wasn't very attentive. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall I wouldn't come back and I recommend going to Captain crab in Elk Grove it is so much better tasting and cheaper!!

Right when you walk in, everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was a busy Saturday evening, but we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was also so friendly, and our food came out FAST and piping hot! In our past experiences at other crab boil restaurants, it can take forever just to get a table, let alone get your food. So we really appreciated how quickly everything came out here! Now, THE FOOD! My hubby and I both got the Dungeness crab with the mild Cajun & garlic butter seasoning. It came with potatoes and corn, and we also added a side of rice and the Cajun fries. The seasoning was SO good! It had plenty of flavor without being overly salty. The crab was delicious and cooked perfectly. And those Cajun fries?! They were super crispy and seasoned to perfection! The only thing I would have changed was that we weren't given any crab crackers or tools to help us get into the crab. We actually thought they didn't have any at first. We later asked and were provided with some, but it would have been nice if they were offered or brought out with our gloves and bibs since we ordered crab. Other than that, I really enjoyed our experience! I especially loved that the restaurant has a more relaxed atmosphere compared to some other crab boil spots. The seats were comfortable, the music wasn't extremely loud, and it still had a fun vibe while being quiet enough for us to actually have a conversation. Overall, I'm giving Captain Crab a 10/10! We'll definitely be back!

The sound system was excellent, the song selection was great, and it created such a fun environment for families and friends to enjoy together. There is something special about eating delicious food, singing your favorite songs, laughing with loved ones, and making memories that will last a lifetime. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the night. They made sure we were comfortable and checked on us regularly even when the restaurant became busy. Their hospitality added even more to the experience. If you are looking for a place that truly captures the feeling of Vietnam with authentic food, great service, and fun karaoke entertainment, this is definitely the place to visit. It is more than just a restaurant÷it feels like a little piece of Vietnam right here in America. We will absolutely be coming back and bringing more family and friends with us next time. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food, good music, and great company!

The grilled chili and salt and pepper snails were also on point, succulent and juicy with a natural sweetness to it. The quail was freshly fried paired with a lemon grass and spicy side sauce which complimented and added an additional layer of flavor dance in the mouth. It felt like an 80s break dance. We also had mussels which were fresh and nice and creamy! I definitely am coming back!

Shout out for West Sacramento…read more.. Did you know that right in West Sacramento there is a seafood stand selling fresh sustainable caught hook n line fish plucked from the Bodega Bay? Well know you do... Ferrari Fisheries has a stand that sells black cod, ling cod, red snapper which all are year round catches; and seasonal Dungeness crab and salmon. When they have a fresh caught batch; they text their customers what is available catch, and time & date. To get their text notifications; you can sign up on their website. I was fortunate enough to get to their stand early enough on a notification day to buy a couple of Dungeness crabs. The crabs were live, priced at $11/pound. Awesome price! When you get to the stand, there are two lines. The first line you want to get into is the one nearest the big containers where the fish on ice or crabs are kept. If you want your fish filleted, let them know. It is a complimentary service. Then you head into the other line to pay. They take cash and card, I'm not sure about other payment types. Keep in mind, the inventory sells quickly especially the seasonal items. Folks queue up earlier than the opening time stated in the texts. The start time was 10am; I got there at 10:20 am. They sold out as I was leaving the stand. Anthony (owner and fishing captain), his wife, and team are terrific. They all were helpful and had the best attitudes. Welcoming. I'm sure they answer the same questions over and over. But when talking with each customer, they were engaged and provided individual attention. Top notch customer service!

As soon as we get in, it's HOT. Like AC was broken or what? RED FLAG 1 - We still stayed. Got seated fairly quick and there are a few large parties and I worried about whether they would be able to handle it since I only saw 1-2 servers. The menu said "Soju" without a flavor listed so I asked what flavors they had and the server had no clue. RED FLAG 2. Another server came and said she thought they had xyz flavors and did I really want them to check. RED FLAG 3. I said yes. I'm not buying a $13 bottle of Soju (that costs $7) without knowing the flavor. We order some standard items that shouldn't have taken long, and the kids are getting very hungry. No status from anyone and it's been a long while. I finally get up and ask what's happening and it's clear they hadn't even started on our food. So I pay for our over-priced drinks and this place is off our list of things to try. i highly recommend calling ahead and asking about the crowd size and AC situation. They were definitely not able to handle the crowd, even though it wasn't even a full house.

Came for a bday dinner - made reservations on Open Table and got sat relatively quickly. Free bread and butter. Butter was soft which was very much appreciated. Bread was not warm but still fine. 5/5 Boston clam chowder. Got a bowl and split with a friend. Really creamy with decent clam and potatoes. 5/5 field greens salad. The dressing is light, the cheese is delicious. The pecans are sweet and crunchy. One of my favorite salads ever. Not sure why it's so delicious! 4/5 crab cakes. Small portions but the cakes were flaky and the crispy fried scallions were so good I added to everything. Server was King, he was excellent, taking care of all our needs and so polite. He offered to split our entrees for us when we were having a hard time deciding. 3/5 halibut was sadly not very well flavored. 3.5/5 the ribeye wasn't as good as previous times. A bit chewy and flat. 4.5/5 garlic mashed potatoes with the entree didn't taste very garlicky so we asked the server to double check it was garlic. He came out with a giant replacement serving for us which was awesome and perfect. He indicated the chef added extra garlic which was exactly what we needed. We got a free dessert for our bday girl. She got the mixed berry cobbler complete with a candle and I got a crème brulee. 4/5 crème brulee, one of the better desserts I've had there. We also got a free champagne bottle for her bday l which was a nice touch. Inside was dim and dark but always feels very private. The entrees were less tasty than in prior visits which was a bit disappointing but prior visits were much better than expected so the bar may have been set too high. Hoping the food will be back on point next time, but overall still a solid visit.
