Morton's is known for great steak and that's what I had when I went to Morton's for a special dinner. We had reservations and were seated right away. We ordered the 36 oz. Tomahawk Ribeye, 16 oz. Ribeye, Lobster Ravioli, Loaded Baked Potato, Lobster Macaroni Shells and Cheese, and Bacon-wrapped Seared Sea Scallops. For dessert, we ordered creme brûlée and received a celebratory chocolate cake. Both the Tomahawk ribeye and 16oz. ribeye were cooked medium rare and tasted delicious. The 16oz. ribeye was a little more tender. We added black truffle butter, which made the ribeye so much better. We also tried the horseradish, but I enjoyed the black truffle butter far better. The sides were all really good. I loved the bacon wrapped scallops. The mac and cheese was great with lobster pieces mixed in. The Maine lobster ravioli was good, but I only had a bite. The baked potato was huge and good. The creme brûlée was really good, but we were getting full. I really enjoyed the small chocolate cake with ice cream. We had some cocktails, which were good. Service was pretty good during the beginning, but had a harder time finding our servers towards the end of the meal. The restaurant was clean, classy, and designed for a special occasion. Overall, I had a really great meal at Morton's.

    Mignon burger

Premium location, close to capitol building in downtown. Decoration upscale and service attentive. Food is actually better than expected. Mignon filet very flavorful and taco with ribs is so good. Wagyu beef burger is kind of on the average. If not for the price would definitely come back.

Morton's Steakhouse -- Downtown Sacramento (Bar seating) 5 stars We went for a post‑Valentine's treat and left totally delighted. We sat at the bar and ordered cocktails, the Cajun ribeye, mac and cheese, creamed spinach with mushrooms, and the cheesecake for dessert. Everything was classic Morton's - perfectly cooked, rich, and comforting. The mac and cheese had a crunchy breadcrumb top and real, buttery pasta, and the Cajun ribeye had great seasoning without masking the beef. The creamed spinach was silky and the mushrooms hit the savory note just right. Service was top‑tier: patient, attentive, and full of solid recommendations. The bartenders and servers made us feel welcome without hovering, and the staff created a relaxed, upscale vibe that's perfect for people‑watching (side note: we saw a regular bring his dog in and ordered its own steak -- very Morton's). The real standout was Morton's coffee dessert cocktail -- warm, boozy, and luxurious, with Bailey's, cocoa, and cream that transported me straight to a snowy ski‑lodge resort. It was the perfect after‑dinner sip alongside the cheesecake, which had a silky mousse/cheesecake texture, glossy caramel, and crunchy crumble on top. Atmosphere is dim, classic, and a little clubby -- ideal for date night or a special family outing. They also mentioned a VIP bar perk where heavy spenders get white‑table service in the bar, which sounds fancy and fun for regulars. Morton's has been a family tradition for us across states, and this visit didn't disappoint. If you want reliably excellent steakhouse food, polished service, and an indulgent coffee cocktail to end the night, book a spot at the bar and settle in.

Wow! Pleasantly surprised with our meal at Morton's! I haven't been to a steakhouse in a while but man this was good! The dumplings, the steak (of course), the creamed corn, the crab cakes, everything was delicious! Also our server Manny was super cool and took amazing care of us. Highly recommend, can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu! Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 Marcels foodie score: 5

We have been here a few times before: once before for my wife's birthday & for happy hour a couple times but first time during covid & our anniversary. My wife invited good friends of ours to share good times together! We had dinner reservations plus we know it's difficult to find parking especially if there's an event at Golden 1 center. We lucked out that night there wasn't an event going on so we found a space nearby. They do offer valet parking but good luck with that. When you come to Morton's the lighting is very dark. Wasn't sure if our pics would turn out:))) They seated us on the corner end by the chef window & nearby restrooms. Our server Rick was very polite & helpful if you needed descriptions on your entree other than beef. No one on our table had beef and that's what the chain yet prestigious restaurant is known for. He honored our requests of split tabs too. It was our anniversary and we received menus that said Happy Anniversary on it. How classy & thoughtful! I ordered the chopped house salad & Rick asked if my wife & I would want to share it? I guess my wife took charge & said yes! It's a good thing bc it was more than enough for both of us! I ordered the prime 16 ounce pork chop & lobster tail while my wife ordered the fresh Ora grilled king salmon on a bed of veggies that had a lot spices on it. Maybe a little over spiced? my wifey said. I did enjoy my very thick pork chops cooked in butter & shared my two bite lobster with wife. Friends who were with us ordered French fries while we were all eating. They encouraged us to have some as they didn't want to take those fries home. Sorry no pic as we were too focused on eating & enjoying each other's company! Yummy goodness! I remembered those fries from HH there! Wife wanted the creme brulee there so she ordered it right away! I think if you order the molten cake or sundae you have to wait 35 minutes but not for the crème brulee or chocolate mousse. By dessert time the restaurant was completely packed house & covid variant wasn't completely gone yet! Our waiter was really running that night! And my wife was very happy bc they comped the dessert & brought one comped creme brulee for our friends too! Happy wife; happy life right? Also another female employee with a camera took a pic of us & brought an anniversary card with pic in it! What a nice & fabulous gesture to end the evening! This restaurant knows how to take care of you in the best way possible as the manager came by our table too. When does that ever happen? Very rare for sure! It was our best anniversary celebrations ever! Thank you Morton's for taking care of us. I'm sure we will be back again for that very special annual celebration! And in actuality we have!!!

One of my favorite steakhouses. I came here to celebrate my retirement with some good friends. Treat us to a steak dinner. As usual we were not disappointed. The steaks were brought out to the perfect temperature. The service was great from each station. The ambiance was very exquisite and pleasant.

A great way to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday!! Pricey but you pay for the fancy environment. They decorated our table with birthday confetti, and the food was amazing.

    Short Rib Tacos
    Lorena M.

I came with a friend to enjoy their happy hour on a Thursday evening. We decided to sit at their bar. The ambiance is always lovely with a dim and swanky feel and usually lively as it was this night. We ordered the short rib tacos which came 3 to an order. Even though we let them sit for a while since we were busy chatting lol the texture and flavor was still amazing! The tortilla stayed soft even once cooled down. The meat was tender and the sauce was a nice accompaniment. We also shared the mini crab cakes. They were tasty and cooked perfectly, mostly crab with not a lot of filler as they should be. I just wish there were more in each serving lol. I've had their prime rib sliders, wedge salad bites and their burger in visits last and they were all good. This place still does hospitality right. Our bartenders Rachel, Steven and Zack were all friendly, welcoming and very efficient given how busy it was. I'm a little clumsy sometimes lol and I spilled my martini right after it was set down and they were quick to make me another one which was very much appreciated. If you ask nicely they'll even give you blue cheese stuffed olives which I love. The martinis are shaken to perfection, served with tiny ice crystals along the top. Dinner here is always excellent as well.

Blackberry Margarita $10 (power hour) 5/5
    Lorraine M.

We went for their power hour (happy hour). Their $10 cocktails were tasty! We also ordered the shrimp Louie salad, crab cakes, sliders & everything was tasty. The crab cakes were delicious however a bit pricey. You only get 2. Busy yet friendly ambiance + service.

Had my birthday dinner here a few weeks ago. The overall experience was nice but I was a bit underwhelmed by the ambiance of the restaurant. The food, drinks and price point was ok. I did appreciate the birthday confetti on the table and my free birthday dessert. Would I go back again sure just not for a special occasion. I think it needs a refresh and maybe a second bread option other than the onion loaf. Cheers

Tonight was a late birthday dinner at Morton's Steakhouse. They always make it special for special occasions, and the service is always outstanding. Tonight we started with a wedge salad that they willingly split for the two of us. Their rich blue cheese dressing, over pickled onions, cherry tomatoes and grated hard boiled egg is the best. For our entrees we had the New York steak and the 8 oz filet, and shared a baked potato and grilled asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection, and delicious. For dessert, I was treated to their famous chocolate molten cake with ice cream, but I have no photo because I was so full from dinner (taking half home for leftovers), I had to take the dessert home too, candle included. We love the special attention we receive each time from our server, Tina, and the best managers in town. There is valet parking available for $15, which is taken care of outside, before entering the restaurant. Be sure to make reservations if you can, because it can get pretty busy.

Three couples came to celebrate our anniversaries. We had a fantastic evening from start to finish. Warm welcome. Super attentive waitresses and staff. Ambiance is classy and dignified. Food was amazing from appetizers to desserts and everything in between. I started with French onion soup - oh so good! My husband had lobster bisque which he also enjoyed. For my main course I had the petite filet with creamed spinach as a side. My husband had the petite filet with a lobster tail and grilled asparagus spears as his side. All was delicious. My dessert was cream brûlée and his was lemon cheesecake c with blueberries on top. The other two couple raved about their meals also.

Hello, here are the fees, $50/750ml bottle or $55/1.5L bottle.

Do you do anything for anniversaries and birthdays?

Yes, for my birthday, they provided free dessert.

Is there a vegetarian option as I have some family that doesn't eat meat?

How much is the cakeage fee?

Our corkage fee for this location is $50/750ml bottle or $55/1.5L bottle.

Is there outdoor seating with heaters?

    Yes

Headed to Morton's for a family dinner it's 106 degrees , I get the "dress to impress" mentality, however, did I mention it's 106 degrees- thoughts on summer attire?

We recommend business attire or smart casual wear at Morton's. For men, a collared shirt and dress pants are appropriate. While a jacket and tie are not necessary, many of our male guests will be wearing a business suit. For women, business wear or… Read more

Do they still have happy hour?

Mortons has a 'Bar Bites' menu... Everything's $7. Just go sit at the Bar after work🤗

Are the sides included in the price or do u pay separate for each side dish?

They are separate most of the time. Sometimes there are specials that come with, but plan on separate.

    Ruth's Chris or mortons?

It's a toss up. You can't go wrong either way

    What is the dress?

It's been my experience that it's business casual to more formal, however I have worn Wrangler's and a collared shirt at times. I have also eaten at Morton's in the summer months wearing nice shorts/shirt (more casual).

When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

She patiently explained the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered across the menu: a ribeye, a filet, the salmon, and one of the daily specials, scallops. We also ordered the Brie and bacon jam appetizer and one of our party had a Caesar Salad. There were a couple of substitutions: extra spinach instead of mashed potatoes with the salmon and fingerling potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes with the ribeye. I ordered the Brussels sprouts as well. Everything was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. The proteins were substantial, well worth the price. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and the banana cheesecake. They matched the quality of the entrees. Everyone remarked on how great the sourdough bread that was brought to the table was. As the ladies in our party said, you could make a meal out of the bread along with some cheese and wine. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which didn't seem to hinder the service at all. Our water glasses were promptly refilled. It was a great experience.

FOOD we started with the chilled prawn cocktail. the prawns were fantastic, and the cocktail sauce was divine. we jumped into a cup of lobster bisque; which was something i was looking forward to. unfortunately, the soup tasted like a very bland tomato fish soup. ugh. it lacked flavor and i don't think there was hardly any lobster in it. major bummer! we go the surf and turf (with lobster), the rib eye, and mushrooms and brussels to accompany the steaks. TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

From the atmosphere - through the service - to the FOOD. This place deserves this strong rating…read more The building is gorgeous -- all brick walls, old-school elegance, and enough ambiance to make you sit up straighter the second the waiter approaches. It feels like the kind of place where politicians make secret deals over cabernet and couples get engaged next to a plate of scallops that costs more than your first car payment. The wine list is so extensive I'm pretty sure it has its own ZIP code. The service? Extremely polished. The servers glide around with the confidence of people who definitely know which fork you're supposed to use and are praying you don't ask. Food-wise, it's fantastic. Steaks arrive looking like they just graduated summa cum laude from culinary school. The oysters are elite. The desserts whisper, "You deserve this," right before your bank app sends a push notification asking if everything is okay. And honestly, the best part is the atmosphere. It's one of the few restaurants where everyone collectively agrees to lower their voice by 30%. You don't hear blenders, screaming toddlers, or a guy explaining crypto. Just soft conversation, and clinking glasses. Would I go back? Absolutely. But only after checking my credit score, hydrating properly, and reminding myself that "treat yourself" is not a legally binding financial strategy. In all seriousness: it's worth every dime. (And if you decide to pay in dimes.....bring a few dollies and some help.)
