Better than most seafood boil places in Colorado. Pretty good for a chain. Unfortunately didn't have liquor license when we went.

My wife and I went in on a Thursday at 7pm after work and it was fairly. The service was great and the menu is incredibly diverse. We are huge fans of seafood boils / crawfish / crab etc and the food did not disappoint - HUGE SERVINGS- the shrimp, crab, crawfish, scallops and clams were very good quality and the butter garlic seasoning really complimented each. The potatoes and corn were good as well. There are so many options to choose from for seafood boils, fried and baked fish, oh and the hush puppy's we amazing too. We are going back to try the mussels and clams as there are several preparations available and I understand the lunch menu is amazing also. If you have tried - you could do a lot worse if Fort Collins and the prices are fair and portions large. Such a uniquely inspiring menu- something for everyone - even the vegetarian we brought along !!! Keep up the good work Captain Hook and tell a friend - it's that good! read more

My friends and I decided to have a 'Girl's Day', when one of them suggested we go and eat here. Was kind of skeptical based on the reviews I've read, but she promised us it was good, so we went. First impression was good. Loved the atmosphere. The crew was very polite. Sat down and begin to order. Noticed they don't sell alcohol, which was upsetting, but the waitress apologized and told us they're still working on getting their liquor license. No biggie! We decided to stay and go ahead and order. We started with the Krab Bites and Mozzarella Sticks. We weren't a big fan of the Krab Bites - they were too sweet amd tasted like imitation crab almost. The sauce that came with it didn't compliment them in my opinion and didn't make them any better. Didn't end up eating them. Now, the Mozzarella Sticks were great! Loved how cheesy they were and it just sort of melted in your mouth. Those were gone the minute they touched our table. Fast forward to the main course. I ordered the 'Famous Low Country Combo' w/extra of the 'Snow Crab Mini Boil' w/cajun sauce. Extra Saucy. I was upset once again with how I couldn't just ordered another side of crab legs and had to order another boil, but it is what it is. I will say, the food was great! I had no complaints - even ordered the same thing for my boyfriend as a 'To-Go' order and he fucked that shit up. I was thoroughly impressed. However, despite the food and service being good - I ended up getting food poisoning. I even noticed as we were eating the shrimp (at the house) it looked like it hadn't been deveined. Gross. My friends and boyfriend noticed it too. As the night went on, I wasn't able to stay out of the bathroom for more than 5 minutes. Woke up the next morning and was even more explosive... felt like death. My friends and boyfriend experienced the same thing. I rightfully called them to get a refund and they were cooperative. I am giving them 2 stars because: 1. My friends, boyfriend and I got sick off the food 2. When I went in there to get my refund one of the workers made a comment and said "Just so you know, we're giving you this refund because we respect you. Not because of our food" - I understand you're being "respectful" or whatever, but your food did in fact make me and others sick. I was willing to give them another try because fuck ups happen I understand. After that comment, they will no longer be getting my service though. It's a shame, seeing as how I was excited because we don't have a lot of seafood boil places in FoCo (like we do in the South). In the end, it's not worth it after being sick for the last two days and the customer service I received in getting my refund. Good luck to them, but I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Had an excellent meal at Captain, Hook seafood, very accommodating and helpful staff the ambience needs some work however I'm sure they're gonna get there. It also be nice to have a liquor license. What's better than a nice boil with a beer! I got the combo boil of snow, crabs, and crawfish with the spicy Cajun sauce, which was excellent, be careful with the spice they know how to bring t. Entrées that were ordered by my party included a very affordable fried shrimp and fried flounder platters along with the Cajun fries. Do yourself a favor and get the Cajun fries if you're gonna get the boil to soak up all that great sauce. I'll definitely be back when they get their liquor license. read more

I wrote a positive review on Google.... But I'm coming back here to rewrite my new experiences I've had here. The first group of staff was amazing.... But the last couple times I've been in has made me never want to return again with some of the new people. Our server wasn't willing to take any special requests and was being difficult. We would've bought more stuff if that wasn't the case. Our cocktails took over 10 minutes to get to our table... don't order a Bloody Mary because it's just tomato juice and vodka with no garnish for $12... when we ordered our drinks and food, they came back to retake our order again because they didn't put it in the first time..... we waited for 30 some minutes for our food to get Dungeness crab that stuck to shell.... Something I've never seen before is Dungeness crab that crumbles when you take it out of the shell. Either overcooked or freezer burnt before cooked..... hmm what else. Don't go close to closing because they literally rush you out of the establishment in SUCH a rude manner. I was literally counting out my cash when a different waitress came up to the table and asked if I was ready to pay & at that point I was so fed up, like can you please give your paying customers a minute?..... meanwhile Two other servers stood over behind her staring us down since we were the last table. Like how annoying is that? Our table is spending $250 in your establishment and you're rushing us out of your building? Not to mention, my sister went to use the restroom as we were leaving. They mopped the floors in the hallway without putting out a wet floor sign and she actually slipped and fell. Good thing she didn't get hurt. If that were to happen to the wrong person, this business would get sued out of existence. Dear owner of this establishment.... Your food and restaurant is good or at least it was in the beginning. Unfortunately, your staff is going to ruin your whole business. I don't know if I'll ever be returning because of how your staff treated us. read more

Tried this the other day. It's a nice but not fancy sit down restaurant and relatively inexpensive for what you get. My wife had the clam chowder which has a few clams in it to make it unique. It was very tasty. We also tried the crab bites which come with a very flavorful sauce. The main event was the Chefs Special. It comes with 10 crawdads, 8 large shrimp and 10 mussels. I selected the garlic butter sauce. Never had this before and it was a bit chaotic to figure out how to eat it, especially the crawfish. Buy it all tasted good and I would eat here again. If you want seafood that's not deep fat fried, this is the place. read more

Went there early last night. Greeted by their friendly staff and seated right away in the dining room. The restaurant has not been extensively remodeled, but what they did works to take it from a bbq theme to a seafood theme. They don't have their liquor license yet, so the "BAR" sign in the window is a bit misleading. The menu is pretty extensive. We ordered fried oysters, fried shrimp and hush puppies. All were very well prepared and the fries were almost too hot. The service was a little off; language issues and a little indifferent. He didn't check back to see if we needed anything and it took too long at the end to get our check. I assume this will get worked out, just typical new restaurant issues. We look forward to going back and trying some of their seafood boils. read more

We really liked this place! We tried the clams, snow crab legs, and shrimp (no head). The whole family loved it. My kids feasted and cleaned their plates. We've been to these types of boil restaurants in other cities and always love them. I suggest the jalapeño option - more flavor but not over the top spice. The rest of my family got garlic butter which was good but I thought jalapeño was much better. They opened pretty recently so probably still working out the kinks. Service was really nice, but definitely on the slower side. I'm sure it will improve with some time. Check this place out! read more

We tried the fried calamari first. It was tough and came with a sweet Thai sauce. Not good. We then had a fried shrimp basket and a fried oyster basket. The shrimp were good but needed cocktail sauce. The oysters were tough and chewy. I've never had oysters this chewy before. We will not be going back again. read more

My partner and I just tried this place and we absolutely loved it! The food was truly delicious. We got the clams and mussels boil with garlic butter and the Pier 66 boil with Cajun butter. Both were super tasty and not super expensive relative to other restaurants in the area! This place really fills a much needed gap in the Fort Collins seafood scene. My husband and I ate here for the first time. Had no idea they served mostly seafood boils. I was actually in the mood for a fish dinner. Anyhow, I was little concerned when we arrived because the parking lot had a few cars parked. There were a few people in the restaurant, but the bar area was completely empty. The food surprisingly exceeded our expectations. We shared one order of the shrimp w/o heads and snow king crab legs boil which came with 1 piece of corn and 2 potatoes with a mild flavor of Cajun spice. It was pretty good. My only complaint about this was that the crab legs were not fresh. We also ordered a basket of chicken wings. These wings are not your traditional chicken wings. I think they were cooked Korean style where it is lighted breaded with flour and corn starch, which makes it light and crispy after it's deep fried. It was pretty good. Crazy thing about these wings, they stayed pretty hot after they brought them to the table. My husband said it was one of the best chicken wings he's ever had. Better than the traditional chicken wings. The service was good. Staff were really friendly and attentive. We would come back again. read more

First of all, the people were so nice but they do not have a liquor license so no wine with my seafood dinner. It's a casual family style restaurant but the "boil" for the seafood is "it's swimming in butter". Delicious but not for everyone. Super messy to eat. I would have preferred steamed but the butter on the side. We will try it again later. read more

My fiance had dinner here last night. We both got a variety of the seafood boil (lobster, crab, sausage, potato, shrimp,etc). While we were eating, we noticed the flavors were off and the food was a different texture than what we are used to. Both the lobster and crab were rubbery, the sauce was very watery (almost oily), and the calamari was so disgusting we both could only eat one bite. Such a bummer. I don't know how you mess up cooking food that is essentially deep fried. The hush puppies were under cooked and lacked flavor, the onion rings were very light and the onions certainly weren't cooked. My mom could hardly bite through the calamari. And the catfish was so-so. Will not return and do not recommend. read more

We had the fried shrimp basket with sweet potato fries and the fried flounder basket with fries. The portions were generous and everything was so fresh! The shrimp were huge and so lightly battered! My wife, sisters and her husband went last Friday the 3rd with high expectations. The place is plain with hanging fish and posters about sea food. Typical I guess. The menu is also typical of a seafood joint, mostly catering to boils. All of us except my wife ordered various boil specials, they came on round plates inside plastic bags. You had choices of garlic butter, Cajun hot and medium and a few other spice choices. We all got the medium Cajun. The good: The order was pretty large for the price which was typical for this seafood choice of crab legs, corn, shrimp etc., around 50 bucks or more. All bags had a lot of garlic cloves inside and lots of spice which was to much for all of us but it was tasty none the less. The food was good but some of the crab legs were obviously not fresh since the shells were rubbery and not easy to crack. Everything else served was normal and good. The needing improvements: INADAQUATE NAPKINS!!! I was shocked that a place that serves messy food even if they give you gloves had small, crappy napkins which you had to take from the container over and over instead of thick paper towels.. I recommend you bring your own if they do not change this policy...horrible to be messy and nothing to clean your hands or face, especially if you have a beard. They needed to also bring extra plates since getting the food out of the tight bags were difficult without getting your arms messy or cloths. Last but not least the staff have speaking English issues which made request a bit hard. The staff though were very attentive and got good tips as a result. Overall I recommend this place and being they are new I hope work out the kinks in napkins, speaking and adding liquor to their menu. read more

Service is good but the food.... I had the sea food boil and it LACKS in seasoning. It tasted like they just cooked the seafood in plain water and tossed it in flavorless butter sauce with way too much garlic! Far from Cajun seafood boil. I was really excited to try out this place since Foco doesn't have a seafood boil place. I would drive to The Juicy Seafood in Longmont, which is way better than here!
