What a bummer :-( I had heard of this place opening and recalled seeing that it had a Greek flair. I didn't see any evidence of that. Got here early so seating was very easy. Have a 4 year old and they ONLY have high chairs, no booster seat, so he either squeezes into the high chair or eats at nose level to the table. Come on. If you have a child's menu, have booster seats. Hubs had the surf and turf. Turf was tough and surf was cold. Baked potato was super small. Veg was slathered in some sort of tomato base? I had the fried shrimp. WAY over cooked I ate 2 of the 6. Hush puppies were tiny and burned. Also my baked potato was tiny. And instead of putting butter in it on the side they bring you individually wrapped butter pats...so not good. Grandson had the grilled cheese and quickly said "Mamaw I no like it". Waaayyyyy too much cheese it looked terrible. And the cheese wasn't melted. I know they have only recently opened but they better step up their game or they will go the way of all the other half assed restaurants in this town. read more

We stopped by Captains Diner this past weekend and it was so good! Our waitress Gabby was a doll! We noticed how all wait staff worked cohesively together on a busy Saturday night. The food was great. We had chicken fried steak, salmon, seafood platter and calamari. One customer next to us went on about the shrimp bisque so our waitress brought us a cup. Yum! We will return! I have to give this location only 3 stars. Good was ok nothing special. Potatoes were frozen not fresh, pancakes came from a box. My omelette was way over cooked. Sausage was processed and not fresh. If your looking for an IHOP or Denny's breakfast this would be your place. Maybe I'll try later after they have been open longer. read more

Great first experience at CD! Appropriately decorated in beach/nautical decor w blue and white theme. Service was very good; coffee cup refilled multiple times promptly. First time, came for breakfast. Almost 8$ for French Toast, that came on a huge platter, plenty of room for eggs and bacon but that's not an option. Bacon isn't even an option on the egg plate unless you get it as a side, which is over $4, it comes with several pieces, but one person won't want that much or maybe they would. Place is clean, staff friendly. My husband has been for lunch, said it was good. I'll have to try lunch next time. read more

This is definitely a little hole in the wall kind of seafood restaurant. I will say when I first walked in I wasn't too impressed due to the table and chairs that my party was sitting out were dirty. Absolutely TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Please do not come here if you are expecting good service. The food was amazing but took FOREVER to come out. We were missing stuff when it came out and the waitress did not bother to ask us if we wanted anything else because they were out of stuff which we got told AFTER the fact. Did not get any apologies from the waitress about the food taking so long or because of our missing stuff. We didn't get ANY water refills the whole time we were there. Waitress came to see us ONCE besides bringing out the food. After we complained about the service the waitress proceeded to try to gaslight and blame it on us for coming an half and a half till close mind you the rest could've denied us service if that was the problem. They didn't take anything off the hill even with the terrible service and us not getting parts of our meal. DO NOT RECOMMEND . Will absolutely NEVER eat here again JUST BECAUSE OF THE TERRJBLE SERVICE!! We still never got a single apology after all of that and the waitress got auto-gratuity to go along with it. My family and ate here on Friday. It was a little on the warm side and a bit loud, but overall a pleasant atmosphere. The calamari was tender and well cooked. We're told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. Took over an hour to be seated. We were a party of 6. Several 4 tops were seated before us. They could have easily pushed two tables together. Multiple empty 4 tops. Finally seated and waited over 20 minutes to get our drink order. We ordered drinks and food because we already looked at the menu. Our salads took 25 minutes after ordering. I asked for an additional ramkin of blue cheese dressing and they were out of that, makes me wonder how they got what I was served. Our entrees came out 5 minutes after the salads and bread were finally served. Never got to eat the salad. Ordered the steak for two, it was cooked perfectly but had no seasoning. The onion strings were undercooked and the breading just fell off. Also ordered the blackened mahi. We were informed that they were out of the mahi. Got the flounder poorboy. The breading was so thick and there was not very much fish. I ordered the flounder nueces and I swear it was catfish. It was the most mushy whatever and the sauce was some kind of tasteless thick gravy. Absolutely horrible. They took my meal off the ticket but it was still $75. We will never return. We arrived at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. Any good restaurants will have a wait. We were the last party served and walked out at 9:30. Hopefully they just had a bad night but they will close within a year if this continues. Very unprofessional restaurant. I swear it was catfish not flounder. read more

Went for dinner this evening with a couple of guest. The new had not worn off yet however I would say it's ok! One guest had the seafood platter which was fried and acceptable. The other guest had a 8 ounce fillet which was over cooked and would struggle to get to 8 ounce . I had the tuna which was cooked as asked . Overall a few growing pains however the place has potential once they have everything up and working. Just a note that we left Meridas to have dinner at this location. My family went here while visiting the island for my 67th birthday. Great ambiance, very attentive and quick service. The food was fabulous. I was so happy to find this restaurant since we come to the island several times a year. Seafood stuffing was the best I've ever had. Saw this new restaurant while driving by and decided to give it a try. We arrived about 5:00 PM on Friday night and were seated promptly. We just beat a rush of other diners as the restaurant filled up quickly. There were plenty of friendly servers and our orders were taken promptly. We ordered catfish, chicken Alfredo, and a couple of sides. Food was delivered promptly and at proper temperature - except the chicken Alfredo was soooo hot it was truly hard to eat. We took half of it home and it was still steaming as we put it in the to-go container. Ambiance was nothing special - a serviceable layout of tables and booths, with a bar at one end. Lighting was bright. Noise level was a bit elevated because of all the hard surfaces. But all in all, they served a decent meal at a normal price with good service. Evidently they've only been open about 6 weeks. I hope any problems other diners experienced were the result of trying to iron out opening day wrinkles. This restaurant has a great possibility of becoming a favorite of locals and visitors alike. read more
