i think any time a place has merchandise the second you walk up it should be a little bit of a red flag that it is a tourist trap and it made me want to turn around, but it was late and we needed some grub. great outdoor seating area. this seems more of a local spot and less of a show stopping seafood spot. fishermans platter offered more than expected but i wasn't as impressed as i thought i would be - still, chowed this down within 30 minutes. service was quick and kind and happy to seat us. good spot - maybe need fryer oil changed?

As ubiquitous as the beaches, lobster rolls define Cape Cod. The toasted buns, the heaping mound of lobster meat, the tang of the cole slaw. Staying in North Truro, having Captain's Choice nearby meant I didn't have to battle summer traffic on Rt.6. My order was placed and ready for pick-up in 5 minutes. The lobster roll hit the spot --- pure comfort and all was right in the world once more. Their homemade chips offer something unique and tasty, though unfortunately I found them a little overdone. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, friendly and efficient service, easy parking, and a sure bet for your seafood hankerings.

Was driving back down the cape and wanted a lobster roll and that was what Captain's Choice was advertising, so we stopped and ate our lobster roll. It was definitely worth the stop. The service was really friendly and unlike a lot of east coast restaraunts, they continued to fill up our soda and water. The lobster roll was fresh and had great flavor. Also, I really liked the coleslaw, which isn't too surprising, give that I am a big slaw fan. The chowda was good too. Just overall everything that we got on the menu was great. So it is worth the time to go.

Bake stuffed shrimp was delicious. Hot lobster roll was good but not great. A nice little spot for outdoor dining.

We were recently invited by friends to join them for dinner at Moby Dicks and we accepted, excited to try it. I have to say it has been the single most impressive visit I have ever had on Cape Cod. All these years, who knew! I've eaten at Lobster Pot, CBI, the Wequassett, the Wayside, Pelham House and several other top restaurants on this peninsula and none of them have left me feeling like Moby Dicks. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot that was chock full of cars and was assisted with parking my car by a very nice young man to standing in line and being offered fresh tasty watermelon while I waited to the young woman who came around and collected our watermelon rinds to the unbelievably nice staff who kept checking on us during out meal. Who does all this these days? Speaking to the staff, I became aware of their accents. They are from all over the world...Croatia, North Africa and so many more far away places. They spoke very highly of the restaurant's owners and actually said they loved working there. This is a win win situation folks. The staff is happy which encourages them to show up for work - unlike so many places these days. This makes the bosses happy which trickles down to the customer who ends up with the best part of the deal...great food at reasonable prices and a hell of a staff to serve you! I don't do reviews but felt propelled to leave this one. Kudos to you Moby Dicks for making families, friends, couples, etc have one of the best nights of their Summer! Oh BTW, I had the blackened swordfish, my boyfriend had the whole belly clams and our friends had the captain's plate and the kabobs - all of it was fabulous and cooked perfectly. Did I mention it is BYOB? Oh yeah it is :) Don't miss it - Have a great time!

They do have tables for larger groups. They also offer a small bar for dining as well. Outside they set up a small waiting area with seating. You could enjoy a beverage while you wait. Our reservations were made one hour prior to us dining so we did appreciate the accommodation. We were seated promptly at table for two basically at entrance of dining area. Unfortunately the tight space made the seating a bit awkward. My date's chair was bumped a few times as service staff and patrons walked by our table. I highly recommend they sacrifice that table for future patrons. Our server was very attentive after a slow start. Friendly and amazingly informative of the menu. His recommendations were spot on for our experience. Our cocktails were good although my date's drink was not prepared as requested. We ordered the burrata appetizer with roasted peaches, prosciutto. Excellent choice for starters. We both went with steak medallions with risotto for main entree. The steaks were prepared perfectly and amazingly tender cuts. Our wine pairings with the main dish were good recommendations. Adequate parking lot for size of restaurant.

The place would always be jammed and there was always a wait for a table. There's plenty of bike parking by the beer yard. It was a nice day so we wanted to sit outside and have a few beers in the Hog Island beer garden. Service was great. They were getting prepared for the busy season training some folks, and everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The beer garden itself was a huge grassy area with plenty of seating, a mix of picnic tables and regular tables with chairs. Despite it being right by the woods it didn't seem too buggy which was really nice. After hanging out a bit we decided to get dinner there. We were able to order food right at the beer garden and pick it up at the take out window. The food was awesome! We got a bowl of clam chowder, loaded tater tots, and the Rt 6 bacon cheeseburger with a side of greens. First, they're not messing around when they say 'loaded' tots! Some places put a sad little drizzle of cheese sauce on top, but theirs were thoroughly covered with a delicious beer cheese sauce, fresh bacon, and scallions. The clam chowder was great! Not too thick, lots of clams and clam flavor. And the burger was amazing! A nice, thick, juicy patty that was perfectly cooked, a really fresh brioche style bun with lots of flavorful toppings. We walked through the restaurant itself to use the bathroom and it seemed like they had a lot of seating, a nice bar, and a patio area. The only bathrooms being inside the restaurant was a little annoying, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll have some port-o-potties by the beer yard come the full fledged busy season. Overall a really nice time and we look forward to returning!
