If I could give this company negative stars I would. Went in last Friday the 19th to have them install a back up camera so I can see when I hook up my gooseneck trailer to the truck. It took them over 4 hours and CarToys installed the wrong camera in my 3rd brake light causing me to see my tailgate. The manager (Ansil) said he would not charge me for this labor, get me a camera that is adjustable, and replace my 3rd brake light. He told me he would called me when he has all the correct parts in. I explained to him I need this done by Sunday the 28th because I am leaving. I called today and they have not ordered the correct parts and were going down to the Chevy dealership today to get a 3rd brake light and that he will give me a call back. This was at 10:00 AM today and I did not hear back from anyone so I called back at 2:00 and was told the manager (Ansil) was out to lunch. At this time I was reall nhiy hot and laid into the floor salesman with harsh words and he replied that he does not have to listen to me talk the way I was and hung up on me. So I guess at Car Toys your 1st amendment right has been taking away from their customers. I look at it this way customer service has really gone down the toilet and if you are told something from a manager it's just hot air. What every happened to the customer is always right and without a customer you do not have a job or a business? Why should a customer have to call a week later to check on parts or service that you were promised? These parts are not hard to come by and anyone could have gotten them off Amazon a lot fast than Car Toys has proven their urgency to their customers (the thing is that Car Toys will not warranty any customer parts brought in to them to install). So here again I am waiting on a call from the manager at Car Toys. I talked to Ansel at 2:30 and now he tells me that he is going to refund my $100.00, replace my 3rd brake light, and does not want my business anymore. I asked him for his boss's name and number and alls he would provide was Jeff Johnson and that he will have Jeff call me. I tried to call Car Toys corporate off and you get a message to press 1, 2, or 3 for locations or stores in different state . WOW how does a corporation stay in business with this style of practice? There are plenty of stereo companies out there do your best to find one with customer service, quality work, and that will stand beside their word. You have been warned. Even though I was there longest than expected I'm a super patient person so it didn't bother me! As well as you never know what could happen with your car under maintenance so you should always be prepared for longer than expected. The boys were super busy and they worked really hard on trying to get everyone out and happy! I had the best experience at car toys and customer service is great. They explain everything and help you make the RIGHT choice in what to buy! I just put a $1200 sound system in and I don't regret one penny spent. I'll be going back to get an alarm system here soon as well! Bought a stereo, mount, and wire harness to install stereo in my car. They offered $70 to install it. I declined that an I would do it myself. I wasn't able to get it installed by myself due to lack of time so I called and talked to John and he said "no problem we can adjust your installation cost considering you've removed the stock stereo and we just have to put the new in" Great! I walked out with a $190 bill because they claimed since it had a stock amp in the car they had to bypass it and run all new wiring to the speakers. I was pissed I opened my car door panels found they just spliced the wiring to the old speaker wires and didn't even use the $30 harness I bought from them. Never going back. Never recommending to anyone. Horrible business practice. read more

Recently got a new car wanted to upgrade my system so I had them wire up so s an amp they broke my amps tv cables then said it was like that already an my cd player had a 1 inch gap all the way around it an u could see into my dash an they told me it's just how the kit is. I got pissed an told them to take it out an put my stocked cd ayer back in. Then one of the installers decided that he could fix it.. tool car back an now it does look good. The service it actually shitty here they talk down to you an are condescending. Car toys it's self in to bad just this one sucks horribly. I had an amp kit installed and told them I wanted the amp in the middle of my trunk up on my speaker box. When it was done they had it ran to the left side of drivers rear and about 12 inches sticking out. Not only that there was over 4 foot they had cut off the power wire and was laying in my trunk!!! Why!!!! Stupid!!!! Don't go here!! I was charged $279.50 for a piss poor installation!!! Trust me, don't go to this car toys!!!!!!! read more

I bought a stereo for wife's truck and got a fairly good deal on it. One of the installers had to come help me because all of the salesmen were too busy drooling on the teen girls taking up space just listening to music. Got up to the register and the hidden charges started rolling in. I paid more for the install then I paid for the deck and set 4 speakers by a long way. I got a free back up camera, but it would have cost me 125 to get it installed. There has got to be a better place in Salem. Wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone. read more

I'm giving them one star because I called two days after my Groupon expired and they choose not to honor it. To me, that's poor customer service. And yes, I do feel this way as most companies would have honored the deal knowing that it was a large amount of money for the customer to lose only over a 2 day difference. Also, you're representative made a comment how it was "impossible" because the "computer" wouldn't allow you to honor the groupon code because it was past the date, which having friends who've had their business offer Groupons have told me, that's just simply untrue. It was strictly a choice by your company to not honor it. With many one-star reviews maybe I shouldn't have expected more. Just my opinion of course, but that's what Yelp is for. read more

They will do anything to suck money out of you and at the same time give terrible costumer service. I've had two incidences one when I tried to make a return they only refunded me 20$ out of the 80$ I spent there and tried to give me some bs story on why they couldn't give me a full refund (I later got the money back later). My second was when they claim to price match but it's only with one or two websites the salesmen didn't want to budge on anything so eventually I found a better price at a store nearby (not saying what store) then the salesman had to comedown on the price read more

Got my truck detailed here and they did a great job. I was sad to have to sit in it and then put my toddler in it knowing it would get messy again. Overall it was great. Customer service goes a long way. A few weeks ago I had spent $1000 on an install and unfortunately had to get rid of the vehicle I just had it done in. I went to this car toys and asked if they'd be willing to take the keyless entry out and in return I would pay for my front windows to get tinted on my new vehicle. It's all about the bottom dollar to them. They wanted to charge me a minimum half hour shop fee of $55 to take it out as well as charge for the window tinting and supplies. A waived half hour shop fee would have in turn made them more money but instead they lose all my business. read more

Worst service EVER! Started off with an awful sales man who was going to get us a "good deal" on a stereo receiver for $399 with free installation, then when he went to quote us he said alright that totals out to 800 something. Then when I tried to stop him and ask for a print out of the charges he started talking out of his ass about all these made up charges. Then tried to give us a new quote of $600, when we insisted on a print out Of the charges it came down to $477. After we agreed to that he told us it would be 2 hours top, we walked around the area for over 2 hours and decided to just head back and wait there for the car to be done. When we walked up we saw his car sitting out front ready to go and they hadn't even called. Then to top it off the guy who checked us out couldn't get off his golf game on his phone long enough to check us out. He stopped three times to take his turn while we stood there waiting. The only reason I would ever recommend this place is for the guys out in the back doing the real work, they were extremely nice and helpful even had us come around back to show us things that were wrong. So I have used car toys in the past and have been satisfied but I bought a remote start for my wife's car in Dec 2017 and it works but is not as easy as they said in the operation of the remote. So I took in my car a Kia soul for a remote start and a new stereo. Even with free installation of the deck was closer to 900 bucks. A week or so later I took it in for the actual installation and was told they had forgotten a part that was 29 bucks and it would keep the stereo from frying something or other. Several hours later i get a call from them and they say i need a special order 200 dollar harness. I said no put it back together. They claim to be professionals but they can't tell what they need for the install. read more

I have a 2016 Keystone Laredo 5th wheel. The stereo was shit. I went to Best Buy but was turned away because Best Buy doesn't do custom ( fabrication ) work anymore. The installer at Best Buy recommended Car Toys. So, I stopped in Salem, OR and had a new stereo system ( deck, amplifier & 6 speakers ) installed. I didn't want to drive my 5th wheel into downtown Salem on Monday - Friday because it's a zoo. Brad, who is the guy you want to talk to, encouraged me to drive in Saturday ( no one was in the way, but get there early ). Brad also did the install. Giving Brad only 5 stars would be cheating him. My boyfriend bought me remote start for Christmas. I went in the day after Christmas and they convinced me to upgrade to one I could start from my phone (over 200$ more). They then kept my truck all day and when I returned they had installed the original remote start my boyfriend had bought and not the upgraded one that was now suddenly 306$ more not the 200$ I was quoted. The tech in the back agreed to stay late and try to install the correct one. While waiting I had a lot of questions as the price had just jumped an extra 100$, multiple sales rep were not knowledgeable and could not tell me what I was paying for or print me out a detailed receipt. Before I could figure out what they had charged me for. The tech came back out and informed me that it had caught on fire and of course that was the last one in the store and I would have to have one ordered and come back in another day. My truck stunk so bad of burnt plastic but it was late and I needed to get home. They next day I decided I didn't want to deal with it anymore and I called and asked for a refund for the upgrade. They would not refund my money over the phone and made me go into the store and speak with a manager before I could get my money back for a product I didn't even have. Further more, I now have to take my truck to the dealership to get the wiring inspected since it caught on fire which I was quoted 110$ for. The only knowledgeable person in that store was the tech in the back installing it. He apologized and went over the product with me, he was very polite and had good customers service and had agreed to stay late to try and fix it. Our car already had an after market stereo installed and it was time for an upgrade. Purchased car stereo with bluetooth. Stereo price said that it included installation, but guess what? There was going to be an extra fee for wiring the stereo. Since when is connecting a couple of wires together not part of an installation?? Decided to purchase the stereo only, price dropped significantly (by about $50.00). My husband is capable of twisting a couple of wires together and sticking a wire nut on them. I liked our sales person, he was nice and helpful. It's sad that the company policy is to tack on extra charges to people who don't know any better. read more

Showed up this am only to be told that I did not have an appointment and there was no way they could fit me in. 15 minutes later, my phone rang. Front USB, MP3/4, hands free cell, AM/FM of course and a double din that would fill the dash nicely. I went in and the salesman in the showroom showed me what was available and was not pushy or trying to sell me more than I wanted. He did explain options and did tell me what I could get for more dollars but didn't hard sell me. The install technician came up front and I explained what I wanted done and he efficiently took the car and had the new unit installed in 45 minutes. A job well done and no pain. They up sold me on a few extra things but my car needed it. Robert did an Excellent job and it looks like it is brand new on the inside.
