I wanted to love this place as someone who loves southern Italian food and grew up with it. There are some things to like for sure. Great ambiance, good cocktail and wine list. I ordered the pasta with vodka sauce and meatballs. Vodka sauce was pretty good, and the meatballs were moist and tender but almost flavorless. I took a few bites and didn't finish them because it seemed like maybe they forgot to season them. Presentation of all the dishes our party had was fantastic, however general sentiment about the food itself was "meh". I would go back for happy hour but not for dinner.

Drinks were good and the waiters were really friendly! The portion sizes are very large so plan accordingly! I like that there is an option to mix and match sauces and noodle types, with a wide variety of meatball choices.

Well we are not coming here again...You know it's bad when you start writing the review mid-meal right? We came here specifically because our daughter who is gluten free was really excited about getting to have gluten free pizza. We called to confirm. They said yes we have GF pizza and pasta! We put it in our reservation, we talked to the hostess, we spoke with our waitress...it wasn't until we asked, '"is the gluten free pizza made it the same oven?" that we realized they had no idea how to handle allergies. The pasta? Cooked in gluten water. When we asked the a manager if it could be boiled in safe fresh water, she got defensive and testy, but finally agreed. But when it came out? Inedible and not cooked enough to chew. So I write this with love for people with food allergies--this restaurant is not safe for those who have food allergies, nor are the forthcoming or caring in their response. And for those who are not gluten free, my Regular pizza was burned. Ew.

Absolutely loved our experience here! The Italian food was delicious from start to finish, and the service truly stood out thanks to our waiter, John. We kicked things off with the fritto misto -- a perfect mix of tempura shrimp, calamari, and fennel. Crispy, light, and SO good. I have a dairy allergy, and John was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful, making excellent recommendations and ensuring everything was accommodated without issue, which I really appreciated. For entrées, I had the chicken cacciatore, which was hearty, flavorful, and comforting in the best way. I also ordered gluten-free penne pasta on the side, which unfortunately was not very good and came out a bit mushy -- the only miss of the night. My friend ordered a custom pasta with vodka sauce, mafalde pasta, and chicken Parmesan meatballs -- it looked amazing and she loved it. Dessert was a whole experience on its own thanks to the in-house bakery. My friend sampled a few gelatos and creams, and chose espresso cream to fill her pistachio chocolate cannoli (an elite choice). I grabbed several tarallucci cookies to take home -- at only $1 each, it was impossible to resist. Fantastic food, attentive and accommodating service, and thoughtful details throughout. Huge shoutout to John for making the night even better. We'll definitely be back!

What a great visit. The staff was very welcoming and professional. We were able to order promptly and everything came out quickly. The frito misto was nice. It has shrimp, calamari, and fennel. Everything was perfectly cooked, though I did wish there was more seasoning. We will be back. The pork parmesan looked really legit as well as the pasta.

Very interesting italian place. They have variety of pasta sauces to choose from to go with you meatballs or pasta choices. I tried the frito misto which came with fried shrimp, calamari, and fried fennel. It was very lightly battered and delicious, well prepared. I appreciated the shrimp in this a lot. Happy hour prices are great. I look forward to coming back to try the pork parmigana. There is another Italian restaurant a block away that has this dish and its not available until 5pm, but at Sicilian Butcher you can order this all day. The mini canneloni was fresh and had just a hint of salt and chocolate, making it a wonderful well rounded bite.

Food Alert! I randomly went to The Sicilian Butcher on a Monday for dinner, and it did not disappoint! It's such a cute, cozy restaurant. Our waitress, Kasie, was so patient and provided great recommendations. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the following: Dirty Martini w/ Ketel One Vodka - 4/5 BYO Craft Turkey Meatballs w/ vodka sauce - 4/5 Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms - 4/5 Fritto Misto - 3/5 Single Scoop Salted Caramel Gelato - 5/5 Overall, I really enjoyed the food and can't wait to go back and try more things.

Great first experience. The ambiance was trendy, easy to talk on and comfortable seating. The service was fantastic. Kasie was very friendly, explained the menu to us very clearly and guided us along the way. The food was very tasty. We had a shrimp and calamari appetizer and two BYO pasta with meatballs. My pasta had a little too much sauce formy like but it tasted wonderful. It would be great if they added some visuals on the menu to the different types of pasta so that we could know what each of them are (I ended up Googling them) Definitely coming back to try their desserts and pizza!

really cute and clean space. very open and inviting vibe! our server, I wanna say angela (so sorry if i'm wrong girl!) was great we all had never been so she walked through the menu for us. not pictured was the garlic bread and omg was it good! so fluffy and soft. my bf loved his lasagna and our other friend enjoyed his.. I was a little underwhelmed wasn't a fan of the meatballs and my pasta was a bit dry. they have a $22 pasta special on tuesday's so i'd go back then and try other stuff definitely

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner, and it was quite busy. The only available seating they had open was on the patio, which worked out because the weather was amazing. Service was great and the waiter was attentive the whole time. I started off with a glass of the house white- nothing to complain about there. I also ordered the passion fruit gribaldi, which had a bit of a smoky flavor, so I wasn't a huge fan of it. For starters, I got the fritto misto, and it was perfectly battered and fried, with a generous amount of shrimp, calamari, and an onion. Even my kids really enjoyed this one! For my kids, I ordered a cheese pizza and chicken alfredo pasta, which they both seemed to enjoy. I ordered the Spaghetti Allo Scoglio, which was from their seasonal menu, and it was absolutely delicious! The spaghetti was cooked just right, so it had just the right amount of chew, and the sauce was light, yet flavorful, and had a good kick to it. There were also generous amounts of shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari. To end the meal, we had some cannolis, which were, honestly, one of the best cannolis I've had. It had the perfect texture, and the cream inside was sweet but had a hint of saltiness to it. Very well made! I enjoyed this place so much that I came back the following day! This time, I tried their Marg Al Melone drink, which was FABULOUS. It was refreshing and had the perfect melon taste to it. I highly recommend this drink! I also tried the Pasta Fra Diavolo, which is also from their seasonal menu. It was very good, but sort of on the saltier side. Similar to the Spaghetti Allo Scoglio, they had generous portions of seafood in the dish. Overall, I really enjoyed everything I've tried here during my two visits, and will definitely be coming back here again to satiate my Italian food cravings!

The ambience of the restaurant was really inviting. It gave the feel of a mama & pop environment. My server was extremely nice and insightful regarding all of the menu items and several people came up to greet me and make sure I was OK. The food was really nice my top favorites for the garlic bread and the pasta. I will definitely visit again and recommend my friends.

We had some delicious melon margaritas, bruschetta, and pastas for brunch. The service was excellent and I would totally come back here. Bonus bakery with choose your own filling cannolis, gelato, and other Italian baked goodies.

Beautiful setting with great knowledgeable friendly staff and great service. The basil pesto pasta was amazing but not the fan of the meatballs as they were a little dry.

The meatballs were very succulent, bathed in a tomato gravy that you'd want to lick every drop of from the plate. The focaccia, on the other hand, had a pillowy interior, and the crust almost seemed caramelized, with a slight sweetness that paired nicely with the tartness of the tomato gravy. For our main course, we ordered the Cacio e Pepe, Spicy Gemelli, Pesto Rigatoni, and Bolognese--all were phenomenal. Then, to cap things off, we had a dreamy gelato, with a cloud of whipped cream, topped with pistachio and drizzled with olive oil. Service: Great! What you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. But what really made the experience unforgettable was our server, Leigh. She went above and beyond in every way possible. She didn't just explain the menu- she told a story. From the background of the owner to the details of each dish, you could tell how much care and passion went into everything. She checked in at all the right moments, made sure we had everything we needed, and genuinely cared that we loved each bite. And the food... wow. It transported me to Italy. We started with the arugula salad with bresaola dressed with lemon - super refreshing - paired with the arancini. The bread dipped in the sauce was insane: perfectly crisp on the outside, with rich, flavorful rice inside. We shared the triangoli ravioli stuffed with ricotta and topped with mushroom, hazelnut, and parmesan, and it was incredible. The hazelnut added the perfect crunch and nutty depth. Then came the tagliatelle with wagyu bolognese--perfectly balanced, rich, and made even better with clearly homemade pasta. We finished savory dishes with the veal saltimbocca, and I swear it made me feel like I was sitting in Rome. The sauce was incredible, and the sage really brought everything together. But the true showstoppers? Dessert. My Italian grandma said the cannolo was the best she's ever had - and that says everything. Light, crisp, and not overly sweet. Then the chocolate dessert with olive oil and sea salt... I went in for two bites and somehow finished the entire thing without realizing. Easily the best chocolate dessert I've ever had. This place is out of this world. Would order all of these dishes again. In a city full of restaurants, this is one I will come back to every single time I'm in Dallas. Absolutely 5 stars. Brava.

I visited on a Wednesday evening with a comfortably moderate crowd; on busier nights you may want a reservation. I started with the fried calamari and a glass of wine. Presumably meaning wine, but we were considering cocktails and a bit confused by the question. He said "I'll come back when you're ready," and disappeared for the first of many long absences. From the beginning it felt like we were ruining his life. He was cheerless and curt and wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. It would be more understandable if the restaurant was super busy or understaffed. But this was Monday at 6 pm. We listed a birthday on the reservation, but it wasn't acknowledged. Why bother to ask if we are celebrating? We waited for empty plates and glasses to be cleared between courses. We waited a long time for him to return so we could order a second glass of wine. Even longer for the plates to be cleared and longer still for the opportunity to order dessert...a piece of cake for the birthday girl and two after dinner drinks...but the drinks weren't picked up from the bar when the cake was delivered, and only remembered when we asked for the check. We watched him pick them up (well after the cake was consumed) on his way to leave the bill. No mention that they had been overlooked, no thank you, no good night. This was our first time at Barsotti's and it will be our last. Aside from the awful service, we had issues with the food as well. The veal was pounded paper thin and fried hard resulting in a tough, chewy texture similar to dried beef or jerky. It was dry and overcooked on two different dishes. On a more positive note, we enjoyed the fried ravioli appetizer and the redfish was fine. While our waiter was largely MIA and unpleasant when he did show up, the bus boy/assistant was gracious and attentive. Maybe he was trying to compensate for his colleague. BTW, the offensive employee was in his late 40s to mid 50s with a slight build and salt and pepper hair.
