I'm not one to write reviews However, I'm surprised that this dining establishment isn't close to 5 stars. We went yesterday and our experience was top notch from the time we walked in. The ambiance and decor were inviting and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The Nonna's garlic bread melted in your mouth and the presentation of the flambeed cheese added an authentic touch. We ordered from the "create your own" menu as well as the lasagna and ravioli cacio e pepe. From the create your own I ordered the chicken meatballs, truffle mushroom sauce, and the strozzapreti pasta as recommended by our server. I feel terrible that I don't recall her name, but I believe it was Candice. She mentioned she had been with the restaurant since their inception. It was a birthday dinner for the 16 year old twins and they were so sweet to provide a complimentary "dessert charcuterie board." If you don't gat the pleasure, I highly recommend ordering their tiramisu and cannolis! I almost forgot to mention our drinks! The Italian sodas were delicious. I ordered the Marg Al Melone which was absolutely delicious and tastes like summer. It was a 5 stars experience from start to finish and I hope for continued success! We placed an order through Uber Eats. All three of the three dishes were terrible. The Amalfi Gold pasta was a huge disappointment. The pasta was gummy and stuck together in a starchy ball, the sauce was bland and flavorless and they were stingy with the seafood. Despite the price, this was inedible and a hard pass. The sausage pizza was bizarre. While the crust was crisped nicely it came with more WHOLE (?) green olives on it than sausage. We gave it a try but the flavor was mediocre. None of us even finished a full slice. The last dish was Flora's Salad. The greens were wilted and obviously old, there were a pile of more whole green olives (they must have gotten a tub on sale) artichokes and marinated peppers. Even with the dressing and us adding some rotisserie chicken we had in the fridge, it was a soggy, tasteless mess. We ended up making eggs and toast for dinner - that's just how awful this EXPENSIVE food was. Hard pass. I do not recommend anyone waste their money here. read more

I went for the dessert and stayed for the gnocchi. I chose a sauce with meat. Very tasty! I ordered a cannoli and gelato first. Both were very good. I ordered the perfectly balanced tiramisu. We had great service but unfortunately some of the food was just not great. If you are going here to get pasta, go somewhere else. Several people in our group got the create your own pasta with meatballs, and the quality didn't reflect the price. The pasta and sauce lacked flavor and the meatballs were just not good. You can make better pasta and meatballs at home for cheaper. However! The Nonnas Garlic Bread was great and my boyfriend got the Chicken Alla Tomaso, and it was pretty good. So I'd say avoid this place if you are looking for pasta and meatballs. They market themselves as "craft meatballs" so thats where my disappointment really comes from. There was a small hiccup with the bar and our entrees were slow arriving from the kitchen. He went above and beyond to make sure we were good. Definitely more than I expected. I wanted to love this place as someone who loves southern Italian food and grew up with it. There are some things to like for sure. Great ambiance, good cocktail and wine list. I ordered the pasta with vodka sauce and meatballs. Vodka sauce was pretty good, and the meatballs were moist and tender but almost flavorless. I took a few bites and didn't finish them because it seemed like maybe they forgot to season them. Food was just as dissapointing, waiting over 45 minutes for food to arrive. Lasagna was room temperature. Shrimp dish had 3 small Shrimp. Eggplant meatballs were dry and stale tasting, room temperature. Pasta was good, not enough sauce for a dish with dry meatballs. Pizza looked dry and was room temperature. Dessert was okay, $6 charge for birthday dessert. Highly embarrassed that I asked family to join me here. Spent over $350 here and the only thing worth it was the dessert. Meatball ferris wheel, skip it. Pasta... the absolute worst pasta of my life. Very very starchy, sticky, and super salty. Manager did nothing about it and said it's supposed to be that way because of the oil. I sent mine back and didn't even eat for my birthday dinner. We kicked things off with the fritto misto -- a perfect mix of tempura shrimp, calamari, and fennel. Crispy, light, and SO good. I have a dairy allergy, and John was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful, making excellent recommendations and ensuring everything was accommodated without issue, which I really appreciated. For entrées, I had the chicken cacciatore, which was hearty, flavorful, and comforting in the best way. I also ordered gluten-free penne pasta on the side, which unfortunately was not very good and came out a bit mushy -- the only miss of the night. My friend ordered a custom pasta with vodka sauce, mafalde pasta, and chicken Parmesan meatballs -- it looked amazing and she loved it. Dessert was a whole experience on its own thanks to the in-house bakery. My friend sampled a few gelatos and creams, and chose espresso cream to fill her pistachio chocolate cannoli (an elite choice). Stay away from this place. The food was bland and showed zero creativity. The calamari was cold and salty, and the bartender didn't know how to make a Negroni. For such a steep price, the meal didn't live up to expectations. I'm not picky and I'm usually very flexible, but I honestly don't remember having such a bad, cold, and expensive meal anywhere else in the Metroplex. The restaurant wasn't that busy for a Friday nigh (there is a clue), I considered giving them the benefit of the doubt--but I can't. The ambiance was pleasant and the waitress did a good job, but she should have checked in to see how the food was. If you notice patrons not finishing their food or barely touching it--and not asking for take-home boxes--that's a sign something is wrong. Take the hint. Very interesting italian place. They have variety of pasta sauces to choose from to go with you meatballs or pasta choices. I tried the frito misto which came with fried shrimp, calamari, and fried fennel. It was very lightly battered and delicious, well prepared. I appreciated the shrimp in this a lot. Happy hour prices are great. I look forward to coming back to try the pork parmigana. There is another Italian restaurant a block away that has this dish and its not available until 5pm, but at Sicilian Butcher you can order this all day. Awesome service here. 2 Stars Food: We started with the Bottle and Board which was an $18 bargain. I was told the wine (Merlot) was good and the 3 slices of bruschetta were great. Three big slices, each of which we split 3 ways, with varying ingredients. 1. Caprese with tomatoes, basil, stracciatella cheese, and EVOO. 2. Pea Pesto with mint, stracciatella, fava beans, aleppo (chili flake), and lemon oil 3. Fig & Pear with the obvious as well as ricotta and agave. All 3 were quite good. We also ordered the Shrimp & Calamari which was decent but nothing special. Our first entree was the Butcher pizza with added pepperoni. Pretty good pizza. We also opted for two separate build YO pastas. First being rigatoni with vodka sauce and chicken parm meatballs. The second was strozzapreti (corkscrew) with bolognese and Uncle Arthur's sausage (pork, fennel, roasted peppers, provolone, parm, breadcrumbs). Both pastas were good. Cooked perfectly al dente and plenty of sauce. The chicken parm meatballs were a new take and were quite good. The other meatballs were just ok. I was really disappointed with my experience at the Sicilian Butcher, and unfortunately, the biggest issue was the receptionist, Mimi. From the moment we arrived, she came across as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Customer service is often the first impression guests have of a restaurant, and her attitude immediately made us feel unwelcome. What is even more concerning is that after reading other reviews, it seems this is not an isolated incident. Multiple customers have mentioned similar experiences with the same employee, yet nothing appears to have been done to address the issue. It gives the impression that management and corporate are either unaware of the problem or simply do not care about how customers are being treated. The restaurant may have good food, but service matters too. No customer should feel uncomfortable or disrespected when simply trying to dine out. I hope management takes these recurring complaints seriously and works to improve the experience for future guests. read more

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner, and it was quite busy. The only available seating they had open was on the patio, which worked out because the weather was amazing. Service was great and the waiter was attentive the whole time. I started off with a glass of the house white- nothing to complain about there. I also ordered the passion fruit gribaldi, which had a bit of a smoky flavor, so I wasn't a huge fan of it. For starters, I got the fritto misto, and it was perfectly battered and fried, with a generous amount of shrimp, calamari, and an onion. Even my kids really enjoyed this one! For my kids, I ordered a cheese pizza and chicken alfredo pasta, which they both seemed to enjoy. I ordered the Spaghetti Allo Scoglio, which was from their seasonal menu, and it was absolutely delicious! The spaghetti was cooked just right, so it had just the right amount of chew, and the sauce was light, yet flavorful, and had a good kick to it. There were also generous amounts of shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari. To end the meal, we had some cannolis, which were, honestly, one of the best cannolis I've had. It had the perfect texture, and the cream inside was sweet but had a hint of saltiness to it. Very well made! I enjoyed this place so much that I came back the following day! This time, I tried their Marg Al Melone drink, which was FABULOUS. It was refreshing and had the perfect melon taste to it. I highly recommend this drink! I also tried the Pasta Fra Diavolo, which is also from their seasonal menu. It was very good, but sort of on the saltier side. I had legitimately high hopes for this place and ordered the standard margarita pizza, two separate meat balls and the Panelle & Cazilli. The pizza looked great visually, but it was the sweetest and most unsettling taste I've ever had from a pizza. The dough was average and the cheese was decent but nothing special. My fiancé and I didn't even finish it, which is insane for pizza lovers to do. The meatballs were not anything special, the sauces used were not flavorful or in depth in any way. Think local pizza joint meatballs. The Panelle & Cazilli fritters were the worst thing in the order, they were floppy, soggy, and had literally no seasoning whatsoever. I'm honestly confused why they have it on the menu. Go to Pie Tap down the road or North Italia for higher quality dishes. The Sicilian Bakery is where it's at, everything looks amazing. Tried Sicilian Butcher for the first time today. The place was super cute and beautifully designed. The server Angel was super friendly and highly knowledgeable about the menu. She provided some of her recommendations from the menu. I got their house red wine, fritto misto appetizer, and their basil pesto pasta with Parmesan chicken meat balls. Their pasta was truly amazing. However I was not a fan of their Parmesan chicken meat balls as much. Well we are not coming here again...You know it's bad when you start writing the review mid-meal right? We came here specifically because our daughter who is gluten free was really excited about getting to have gluten free pizza. We called to confirm. They said yes we have GF pizza and pasta! We put it in our reservation, we talked to the hostess, we spoke with our waitress...it wasn't until we asked, '"is the gluten free pizza made it the same oven?" that we realized they had no idea how to handle allergies. The pasta? Cooked in gluten water. When we asked the a manager if it could be boiled in safe fresh water, she got defensive and testy, but finally agreed. But when it came out? Inedible and not cooked enough to chew. So I write this with love for people with food allergies--this restaurant is not safe for those who have food allergies, nor are the forthcoming or caring in their response. Ordered a small side salad for $5. Ordered more sauce bc I like it wet. That was extra. I didn't finish the spaghettone and didn't want it to go. Got a gelato for dessert. Tasted good but there were unpleasant gummy bits in it that aren't supposed to be there. Server said they were from the dried edges. Service was otherwise good, pleasant atmosphere. This is just for the cannoli bar side of the restaurant. I am a cannoli fiend and have been hoping for an experience that rivals the Boston pastry shops in DFW. The menu shows mini and large cannolis, both available in multi-packs, so I was hoping to get a mini multi-pack to try several flavors. And they offer this option as a dine-in experience via the "TASTE OF SICILY MINI CANNOLI FERRIS WHEEL." Unfortunately, when I walked in and tried to order different flavors of mini cannolis, I was informed that they were pre-made and I could only get plain or strawberry. If I wanted to try one of their many flavors, I would have to get a large one, which starts at $6. So I ordered 2 large ones, and asked for 1 in a shell with chocolate. That cost $1 extra, which is not indicated on the menu and the cashier did not advise this either. So my 2 cannolis came to $15 with tip which is pretty steep to me since I could've had the whole ferris wheel for $16. And they were just fine. I am sad that I couldn't try more flavors and the ones I had weren't super strong. Nutella was just vaguely hazelnutty and Pistachio didn't really taste like anything but sugar. The shells were also fine, nothing amazing but did hold up okay to biting. The gelato looked good and maybe their other flavors are better, but I won't be rushing to return, especially at that price point. read more

I went here for a friends birthday dinner one Tuesday night. I liked the ambiance and decor inside. The host actually came out and opened the door for us as we were walking in which was a nice touch. We shared some apps, Nonnas' Garlic Bread $15.00 and the Arancini $16.00. I thought the bread was good flavor wise but the cheese did not stick to the bread and came off in clumps. The price is where this gets lost on me in terms of value for what you are getting. The arancini has peas in it which I was worried about but if it didn't say it then I would not have known they were in there taste wise. I thought these also tasted good but for the price not sure it is worth it. For my entree I got the Chicken Parmigiana $29.00 which was huge portion that I had it for dinner and lunch the next day. The taste was good but execution fell flat. The breading did not stick to the chicken and was not crispy at all, so soggy. I also got to try 1 Chicken Parmigiana Meatball and 1 Turkey Meatball. The chicken parmigiana meatball was the driest most bland garbage meatball I have ever had in my life. I have had freezer meatballs better than that one. The turkey meatball was fine but nothing special. Our server Angie did a fantastic job from start to finish. Unfortunately the food really disappointed combined with the expensive pricing for what you get this place is meh. I will note that there was literally like 2-3 other tables in the whole restaurant there during peak dinner hours so not sure this place will be around long anyway but I would not recommend it.
