Bought 2011 Mini Cooper S from Cardinale Way Mazda in Corona. Sales person seemed nice enough. Was told I "had too" purchase the extended warranty from them for financing. After closer inspection that's not really legal to do so. So I bought the car, within 2 days of having the car, the check engine light comes on. Called dealership, said no worries tighten the gas cap. Did that, and continue to come on. I ask when the warranty takes effect so I can take it to a proper Mini Dealership to have them look at it. I was told it takes 45 days, meaning the warranty would take effect in Late August. I called warranty company late August, and they had no history of a warranty being purchased. That's odd, right? Wanted a couple of more weeks, still no history of purchase from dealership. By this time there is smoke coming out the tail pipe, a big leak, and shifting issues. Called again to check on status of warranty to dealer, no return calls or anything. By this time I'm like if you didn't purchase the warranty refund me the money since its now part of my car payment. Silence still. But once I go to twitter and ask for a refund, then I get a response. Now the warranty is valid. Was told during purchase of the warranty that I could take car anywhere to have repairs done. And since this Mazda dealer doesn't specialize in Mini Coopers. I take it to a Mini Dealership. Mini calls back and says the warranty company want repair the car because its within 16 miles of ? They don't say. My house is 29.3 miles from the Mazda place they want me to take it too. So that's BS. So now I'm waiting to see if they will approve the repairs. The warranty company won't approve until they get an ok from the dealer Cardinale Way Mazda in Corona. So they lie about warranty purchase, they lie about quality of car worthiness before selling car, and they lie about warranty covering you to take to any place. Who limits a warranty to 16 miles of what? Plus the warranty doesn't even state that stupid policy. Really stay away from these people, I would expect this from some small corner car lot. But this dealership is big and has many stores. Yelp when will you start allowing negative stars. Company refuses to take responsibility and correct this situation. This place horrible customer service.Do not go here! First, they gave us the run around when we first bought the car. Not having enough time to look elsewhere after, we bought our Mazda from them. They kept trying to sell us additional packages for the insurance and the guy was not friendly. Today, I went back to get it serviced for the first time and they did such a poor job on the detailing and wash that I had to go back. The guy I talked to, Chris, was very nice, friendly, and approachable (the only one there). After the second time, they still did a poor job so the manager came to talk to me and he was not friendly at all. At the end, he did make some effort and offered me a full car detailing service next time I go back, but that is what I went in for in the first place! Safe to say, we will not be telling or friends and family about this place. read more

This past weekend I bought a Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve from Mazda cardinale Way. Lena Phan and Paulina Ideman were so helpful. I was pretty stressed out because I've never bought a brand new car before. I've always been somewhat practical and focused on used cars. But once comparing used cars with the new car offers it came down to value. Basically I got more car (less miles, more safety features) for a better deal than buying a used car. Paulina worked hard with us to find a price that worked for us. I never felt like I had to be extra strong or fight back, and don't feel taken advantage of in any way. I came here more than a week ago for an MX-5 Sport trim. My intention was to shop around and see what's the best deal out there. The place is very pleasant, clean, and nice. The customer service is excellent and the staff members are attentive to their customers. They are definitely not pushy or rushing me to purchase a car. Other dealerships will not let me drive the MX-5, even though I am approved by my bank for a car loan. Cardinale Mazda either didn't have any or sold out of the MX-5 Sport trim, so they gave me an opportunity to drive the Club trim instead. I completely fell in love with the car and want it even more. Unfortunately, they don't have the color I want at the time: they were willing to find the car I want and have it at their dealership ASAP. I prefer seeing the car before purchasing it, so I left the dealership. I understand shopping later in the year might limit me to the varieties of car selections. They were respectful on following up with me after and attempted to work out a deal with me. I didn't purchase my car at Cardinale dealership but I do appreciate their excellent customer's services. Didn't like my experience here. Had an appointment with Dylan and texted him we were running 10-15 minutes late. Didn't get a response. Upon arrival was told he was with someone else. Had someone else help us and upon discussion advised them we would like to value our trade-in before settling on the new car. They valued our car $2k below what we wanted based on what we pulled up. Made it quick and simple and told them that what we expected and that was the deal breaker. They didn't try to work on giving us a better value for our trade-in and were not very transparent on the breakdown in price. When they gave me the total price, the calculations didn't add up as to what the taxes should be in the car. Seems like inflated dealer fees were hidden in the total price rather than seeing a breakdown. Went to Crown Toyota after, they gave us a higher trade-in. Told them what we wanted to make the deal and the manager there made it happen. Ended up purchasing a gently used 2018 Mazda there instead of a brand new one from Cardinal Mazda. read more

Beware beware beware. I worked with Gonzalo. He contacted me to ask me if I was still in the market. He told me he could make something happen. I originally bought a Mazda 3 2019 from them last year. However, i wanted something smaller and was trying go get into a Mazda 3 hatch. First mistake, he claimed he had 2019 Mazda 3 i stock. When I got there they only had 1 ! And in the color I did not want at all. I was greeted with Starbucks which is a great marketing strategy. When making the deal I was NEVER informed by him or Pauline that they will be adding the add ons. In fact, when they made the offer the add ons were not there. Gonzalo was not there most of the sale. While waiting he did get in and out which again is a great marketing strategy to make it seem like they care. However now I owe 2,000 dollars worth of add ons !!!!!! I called Gonzalo thinking he would try to make it right and just told me that he could take it off but the price of the car and the payments is still the same ! In short basically did nothing for me. He refused to acknowledge that he did not inform me of the add ons. Not only did I lose money from my trade in but from this deal. Do not fall for the Starbucks and in and out. In the end you will be buying 1,000 times more. It's crazy to me how they refuse to acknowledge what they did and try to make it right or atleast give you something back to make it right. Something so small would have kept a loyal customer. I will never come here again and this will be my last Mazda. I have owned 4 Mazda's now and from this experience I will never come here or shop Mazda again. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Horrible! Went to purchase a Mazda 3. They had 2 certified pre-owned cars that were on the lot. We wanted to test drive both since one was a sport model and other was a touring model. However no one could find the keys to the touring model. We waited 25 minutes while our sales associate (Lena) ran around trying to find the key. Lena was the only good thing about our experience, she was trying as hard as she could to find the key while we counted 11 other associates just sitting at their desk. Oh yes, must mention that none of them had customers they were helping. Lena introduced us to the manager, he just said he was sorry he had no excuse but didn't do one thing to help find key or get us to stay. So we are going to go spend our money at another Mazda dealership and remember and share our horrible experience with Cardinale Mazda in Corona! Me and my fiancé went in knowing exactly what car we wanted and everything was fine and smooth everyone was kind. As soon as we got home we realized some of the numbers were not adding up and we had to go over the paper work because no one really explained in detail, only to realize a $2.5k OPTIONAL insurance was added to our purchase without anyone asking us if we wanted it or even explaining that they had added it to our purchase. Well that's no problem we assumed we could easily remove it and that way our payment would even go down. Well that sadly was not the case and it is why I'm giving this place a 1 Star. First of all we contacted AJ who was the sales rep who helped us and she was nice but she said it had to be Steven who helped us so we tried and tried to get it fixed with Steven and we kept getting treated by everyone as if we were the ones who changed our mind on the insurance when in reality it was their mistake for adding something and never telling us or asking us if we wanted it!! The payment won't go down it will remain the same despite 2.5k being removed because of how their system works which I understand only it wasn't our mistake! We kept calling to try and go in and fix it and we kept getting brushed off. We called and said we'd go in because we wanted the insurance off! And the response we got was that they were too busy with customers so they didn't know when they'd be able to help us. I understand being busy but it's THEIR mistake is this how they fix a situation when they mess up?? We had to do the work for the mistake to be somewhat fixed they did absolutely nothing on their part but act like we were the inconvenience. We even contacted a sales manager and he just said that's how it works and there's nothing that can be done to fix it. And we emailed the general manager and he never responded. We kept getting asked why we wanted the insurance off. And when we said because we simply didn't want it and no one told us it was added he kept saying he just didn't understand why not! And he kept saying he did go over it with us and unless I went deaf for the 30 mins we were signing then no he didn't. For this reason I would absolutely not recommend this dealership and if you do come make sure you ask the employee to not add anything without telling you because they sure will and then they will treat you poorly when you need it fixed! read more
