A place that I ran into with good tasting solid Street taxis. The places really nice very clean people are very friendly welcome with great smiles. Gives you handmade corn chips and salsa to start off with which were pretty darn good I ate most of them before even got my food. I ordered the street tacos which had excellent flavor pastor and asada both season very well they give you good portions grilled onions sweet onions cilantro beans Charro or refried and Spanish rice. I ate it all now I can't move it was really good going to have to try the others. They do have handmade flower and corn tortillas which you can taste the difference between the two. I ordered Guisada tacos to go and I came back to try the plates. I ordered asada ala mexicana and normally I don't eat Mexican rice and the food was delicious and I ate the rice too. Today is a holiday, and it's one of those where you don't always know who's open and who isn't. We drive a fair distance to enjoy breakfast at an old favorite, only to find it was on the "closed" list. A quick search on Yelp led us a few steps away to Tito's, a place we'd never been. First thing we noticed when we walked in was the 98/100 health score, which is nice when you're trying someplace new. Second thing we noticed was a long line of people waiting for takeout, and then the relatively full dining area. All good signs! The breakfast menu was pretty decent. A lot of the usual things and some less common, like egg and bologna tacos, egg and weenie tacos... most breakfast tacos are available 3 for $3.49 M-F except holidays, like today but that was OK. Everything was reasonably priced even without the special. We chose a few different ones so we could try everything: Bean and bacon, bean and egg (add bacon), Country sausage and egg, carne guisada. All the tacos were big and very full, with beautiful tortillas. The beans were legit and delicious. The carne guisada was one of the most tender we'd ever had. This city has two types of bacon teams, and the nice thing about the tacos with bacon is that you have the option of having bacon mixed in or bacon strips. (We're on the whole bacon strip team). The tacos were served with both red (spicier) and green (milder) salsa, both of which were very good. I asked for chips and salsa. The waitress looked at her watch and said they're $1.99. I ordered them because, in my opinion, you can't give a solid review without trying the chips and salsa- am I right?? Chips were warm and the salsa was nice- not the same red salsa served with the tacos. The way she checked her watch made me think maybe they're free after a certain time (we know a few places like that) but I'm not 100% sure- still worth every bit of 1.99. Ok first of all this location has housed many restaurants in the 11 years we have lived in the area. We have visited most of them and they all sucked! So we paid no mind for Tito's for a good while until we noticed that the place was packed almost every day. Today we said WTF let's try it out....... Tito's Taco is now on my top five bestest Mexican restaurants in the city and that says chingos! I had the Tito's plate that had carne guisado and two enchiladas with rice/beans and sweet tea. It was so good and a big plate. Now I'm a big boy and can eat some food, but this plate was well served and I had a tough time but I waxed on and off the plate with these badass tortillas that came with it and all for $10 My wife had huevos ala Mexicana plate ($9)and she said it was FUC'ing good too. Now let me tell you this! Yo tengo el nopal en la frente and my Wife is hottie redhead, green eyes and freckles, and this seemed to bother our waitress. We have experienced this before in the city and at home in Laredo. Apparently it bothers people that a handsome muchacho is with such a beautiful Goddess...Fuc'em! This place is stupid good. My son loves the juevos rancheros. We've had an assortment of tacos. Enchiladas. Fajitas. And a couple top shelf margaritas. Friendly staff, good service and great food. Their breakfast taco special is a great deal. If you ask for their hottest salsa I suggest you go to heb down the street after and get you some preparation H. Apply heavily and hold on to the bowl. I have dined at Carlitos a few times, and while the food and ambiance were exceptional, the service left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the service did not match the high standards set by the food and atmosphere. All times the waitresses was inattentive and seemed disinterested in providing a good dining experience. I waited an unreasonably long time to at least get their attention for refills or napkins and never came to check up. I've never had a ticket handed to me to pay so I just walk to the cashier and tell them what I had so I can pay. It's a shame that such a great restaurant is let down by poor service. read more

I can say I won't come back some improvement is needed. Wait staff did not check on my table but did show more attention to other tables with hispanic customers. My food came out cold and my drink i had to send back they brought it out in the wrong glass. It was spilling all over the waitress and table. I sent the drink back it came back in a different glass but beer wasn't replaced and the margarita was now watered down with the beer. They should have replaced the mix and beer. Great food but I was very sad when I got home even when I asked for lots of salsa for the ton of tacos I ordered, there was only a handful of the tiniest little plastic cups you can imagine.
