I got a Byob meal with cali classic burger and zucchini bits all was amazing and wonderful. Hot juice freash and amazing. ordered on line .and picked up using the drive tru. This Carl's Jr. has definitely stepped up their game recently. You can tell the gals working there really care about what they're doing. I've been going to this Carl's Jr. for a long time--since I was a kid. Back in the day the food was so good. It was one of the best Carl's Jr. locations I've ever been to; it was basically the poster child for the brand. I'll be the first to say there was a period where it seemed like nobody wanted to be there. The employees didn't seem to care, and the experience just wasn't the same. But something has changed. They're doing a much better job now, and I hope they keep it up, because every time I go there lately I know I'm going to get a fresh burger. read more

The soft drink I ordered was unavailable, when asked if anything else would work, I honestly told Rawley that another drink could be substituted, but I asked if they could not be charged, which I thought had been agreed to. Carls Jr Alpine Ca., please rid of the A.I. robot drive thru, it's not working in your favor. The order typically never equates to what I actually ordered. I Ordered a burger lettuce wrap with easy sauces. Of course the robot misses the "lettuce wrap and easy sauce" part cause it doesn't show on the drive thru screen. I get to the window and tell them the robot did not repeat my order correctly so I tell them what I want. The juvenile delinquent at the window yells my order to the back. I got a messy lettuce wrapped drenched with sauce to the point it's so soggy it's falling apart cause they don't give a damn. I asked to refund my money and the juvenile delinquent gives me exact change. I advised him the sales tax should be added to the refunded item. Delinquent gets mad and says, here's 50 cents. I told him he needs to do the correct math according to the sales tax for Alpine. He asked do I know what it is, but he's the one working there so it's his job to know, not mine. He says here's a dollar and tries to berate me saying "go ahead take your dollar." Well, I will cause you're literally cheating folks out of their money by not funding the sales tax and you gave me more sales tax than what's required so you shorted yourself! Friendly service and decent parking. Went in here because of a ongoing road trip. You had to buy something to use the restroom. Although there was no blood, there were other bodily fluids and materials in the restroom. Not clean! Ate a single patty signature burger that looked like it was stepped on. Should have thrown it out. After eating it had a bad reaction. It only stayed put for a few miles down the road. Not a clean establishment. Glad it was a mild case of food contamination. I ordered my food after midnight and we all know to have low expectations; that being said, it might as well have been a Michelin Star level restaurant that I was ordering from because the food I received was absolutely immaculate. Dining room was clean and only a few diners at the tables on a Sunday afternoon. Bathroom was trashed, paper towels jammed into toilet. Staff was dismissive and disinterested: the sole employee at the counter ignored us as we walked up and then informed us that she was on her break and that someone would help us. While we were waiting, the person at the Drive-in station informed the people in the kitchen that we were waiting to be helped. We were ignored again after the kitchen staff saw us. Finally someone walked over, took our order for 2 chocolate shakes and after about 5-8 minutes handed us two cups with soft ice cream on the bottom, milk poured over and whipped cream. Not A Good Choice. Location: Easy to reach from the interstate and near fuel stops with plenty of parking and should be room for Motorhome/RV/Trailers in the adjacent lots if not their own. Service: Slow with indifferent attitude. Felt like they neither cared if we were there or not. Food: Shakes and hamburger buns were okay but on the fast food scale I give them a fair to adequate rating. Cleanliness: Fair to good depending on if the bathroom trash was recently emptied. I've read the bad reviews and see that some of them are with service and the interior spaces. I'm just commenting on the food. I've been to this location several times and have never had a "Great Meal". My ideal or a Great meal is when the fries are hot, and the burger seems fresh and juicy with a bun that is not heat-lamp wilted. With that being sad, none of my visits accomplished this goal. Right off I-8 in Alpine, access is good. There's plenty of parking with room for a few RV's and 5th wheels. I found the drive thru to be the most efficient while the dine in service to be very slow. The food is ok, it does ok in a pinch. My opinion is that Carl's Junior food quality has really gone down in quality and up in price. The Alpine location for me on has only reinforced my opinion. I used to go through the drive-through ~ 2-3x/month and did for years. In fact, I went by today. Little has changed. Pros are that the their cheeseburgers are good and the orders seldom wrong. The only real con IMO (which may not matter to many people) is that - with one or two exceptions both of whom staff the window where one pays - those who hand you your food are invariably impolite. The typical interaction will occur without a "thank you," or "you're welcome." Many involve the staff member simply sticking the food bag out the window without saying a word, and never even meeting your eyes. Again, this may not matter to some but I find it rude and - as I live in the area - is the only reason I don't go by more often. In fact, I will often go out of my way not to go there. After all, I go by frequently to/from SD and there are plenty of fast-food drive-throughs en route where the staff are helpful and friendly. FWIW. read more

AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS As this is the closest location to us we do try it at least once or twice a month. This 'restaurant' has rarely gotten an order correct in the last 5 years of service. Tonight was at least the 3rd time this month they closed randomly between 9pm and 11:00pm, so ignore their posted "hours" of 12pm as it is a waste of time to venture to this location in the evening past 8pm as who knows when they are actually open. "Shaniya" ( I apologize if the spelling is incorrect) was the one who informed us they were closed as of 11pm this evening after we had spent the time and gas to venture to this location. I guess the managers here do not care about their customers or training their employees. It is worth the extra 10 minutes to travel to El Cajon where you can get decent quality and correctly serviced posted hours. I am so tired of the horrible service at this locations, and I am sorry I neglected to wait to long to review after such a ridiculous amount of bad service from this location.
