After driving home 5 miles, I discovered my order was wrong. Rather than drive back I ate it, deciding to inform the manager the next day, which I did. After talking with the "manager" I realized why the quality of food and service has gone downhill even more. She needs to do something else that excludes "managing." McDonald's is much closer, so if it's going to be bad anyway, I might as well save the gas. But I will be contacting corporate about this manager. read more

Came here at 9:20pm the sign says open till 12:00am but when I pulled up to the drive-through the lady at the window told me they're short staffed and have to take all their brakes at the same time and are close till 10 PM. read more

I don't see what's so bad about this place. Our bus full of 25 kids came in here one sunday afternoon for lunch after our retreat. Although they were surprised, they were able to crank out all our orders in a very speedy fashion. We were very appreciative of their service! read more

I agree with the 1 star about the drive thru, it is a bit slow a lot of the time. I think they don't have enough employees or the ones there are worn out. But, overall I do like their food, specially their breakfast biscuits. They run some new products thru from time to time which is good for a change up. Just moved to area so have stopped here twice in the past week since we're not settled in. NEVER going again. Terrible customer service and the food was disgusting this time. Earlier this week the customer service was poor but we went later in the evening so didn't expect much. Food was ok... but today I pulled up to the drive thru and the guy welcomes me to mcdonalds? I joke with him and say pretty sure it's not McDonald's and tell him I'd like a double cheeseburger and he said they don't do double cheeseburgers and I'd need some other one. I said ok, just without onions please. A lady jumped in and was very rude over the speaker and said which one do you want the double cheeseburger or the 2nd option (can't remember the name). I'm thinking to myself the guy just told me I couldn't do a double cheeseburger... but ok, I'll do the double cheese but without onions. Seemed like we got the order situated after all of the back and forth. I wait in the line... it takes a while but hey it's a Saturday and I don't feel like unpacking all of the boxes we still have anyway :) I get my order, get home, open it up and I have onions on my burger. There was also this nasty taste on the burger and poppers. It was terrible like a chemically kind of taste. I couldn't even eat it with how bad it was. This place needs major work! read more

I've been to this location maybe 3 times in the last two weeks (I know, too much fast food). The drivethru staff do not listen. 2 of the 3 times I've been there they've gotten my order wrong. One of the times they got my order wrong, they even mistakenly asked me during the ordering process whether I wanted a western burger and I quickly corrected her. She said, "I'm sorry" and she repeated what I actually wanted. When I got my order, the burger I received was a western. Don't expect to get your correct order. read more

Had a follow up with the Insurance company(Jacqueline) who states that they will not have the fragments found in the sandwich tested. She feels that bones are common with fish and therefore is basically guessing that that it what it is. The items in the sandwich appear to be a hard plastic and could of chipped off into the fish during processing and if the machines are not checked or the batch recalled someone else could choke. The Insurance company is York Risk Services. Bottom line is if you purchase food at Carls Jr you choke and die its probably a bone. read more

Always missing something! I swear this place is always missing something, wether it's an item you ordered or just stuff that should be on your food. They rarely make the food properly, in the ways it's being advertised! The last 3 times I've been to this place they have screwed up burgers. First was time was I ordered the super star which should have 2 Pattie's but only came with 1. Today I decided to try their chicken sandwich cause it looked really good on the menu and is advertised with veggies on the picture. I ended up getting a sandwich with just bun, meat, mayonnaise, and pickles, for $6! Coulda got a $2 chicken sandwich from jack in the box or McDonald's and it would've been better! I think probably the worst of all and proof that this place doesn't make the food as advertised is I literally got a guacamole burger before with no guacamole! This is the Carl's Jr. in alpine CA off tavern road, Carl's Jr. has potential if they actually served the food as it's been advertised to the customer. In a customer service industry like fast food I think Carl's Jr employee "Jeremiah" must have skipped the training classes that I would assume are required training for all employees... Jeremiah was rude answering the drive through speaker, had no decency for simple hello's, thank you's, or your welcomes...order was as expected for this Carl's JR with the exception of running out of whip cream for our shakes and instead of getting a new can just handing me the shakes with a pathetic display of whip cream splatter on top. This experience reminded me of why these types of people do NOT deserve 15 dollars an hour. The sense of entitlement to their job is ridiculous. I am not surprised the rating is two stars, and I agree with pretty much every other review in every aspect. It's dirty most of the time, the customer service is seriously lacking and it usually does take a long time (but tonight was the exception in that department). I just returned from a return trip to this Carl's after arriving home to find that the grilled fish sandwich I ordered was not in the bag, even after the girl handed us the bag through the drive-thru window said, "It's all in there." Maybe that's why it didn't take as long as usual. My fried zucchini was soggy and extremely bitter. I know better than to order fried food from here - it always has a bitter taste. Their oil is too hot or it needs to be changed, but it happens every time. Anyway... Let me preface this with I was not angry or bitchy or negative in any way. I get it - things happen. I own a local food establishment and good customer service is my number one principle. I go back and pleasantly ask for a supervisor or manager, and the same girl that took our order says "you didn't get your fish sandwich, did you?" Nope. "Would you like us to make you another one." Yes I would. "Is there a supervisor or manager here?' "Yes" and she proceeds to go around the corner and tell her that I would like another sandwich. I asked another employee if the manager could come out and talk to me directly. She (Nia?) comes out and asks what the problem is. I explain that I'm not happy that my order wasn't complete and that the zucchini is too bitter to eat, that I don't want my money back for the zucchini but I would like a new fish sandwich and some comped shakes for the inconvenience. She grabs the zucchini off the counter very aggressively, crumples it up in the bag and barks at her employees to make the shakes. Then another employee comes out and says they're out of fish and would I like something else. No, thank you. I don't eat meat. He relays this to his manager. She doesn't even have the courtesy to come out and tell me that herself. I then request my money back for the sandwich, which apparently is a manager function so she had to face me once again. The poor guy doing her dirty works nicely suggests a salad. I wasn't given a receipt so she had to find my order in the system. Never once does she apologize for anything until I thank the guy for suggesting a salad as I'm leaving. I also thanked two of the employees for being nicer than their manager. Maybe I'll go poach one of them to work for me. Good customer service isn't difficult. Why is it so hard to find? I'd like to say that I'll never go here again, but my husband and kids like it. I've stopped at this location a few times on road trips but recently visited 12.5.16 on my way to AZ and ordered to go. I was extremely happy and surprised that I was given fries for a "long wait" on chicken tenders. It was a very generous customer service act that didn't need to be done, but was definitely appreciated! The restaurant was very clean and so were the restrooms! Great customer service! read more

Went there to today for a shake and bathroom break, did not expect it to take 20 minutes to get two milkshakes. There seemed to be around 6-7 people working on the food, only one cash register which was the general manager. She then began to work with the rest making food. Then had some other guy ring up customers as they came in. He did not seem to wash his hands between register and working with food!!! Luckily he did not make our milkshakes. Haven't been to this alpine Carl's Jr. in awhile maybe a year. I've worked at a few different locations myself. My fries weren't even full half way to fill the box and I even asked them about it. They said "it was normal like that" but that's not even why I decided to give a review here. After getting our food we said "Thanks" not a word from the manager that gave us our food. All though I hesitated to write this review, after reading so many of the same thoughts and feelings about this particular Carls Jr, I decided I would put my opinion in. Having lived in the area for almost eight years, When I first used to go here, they were very clean, very efficient and the food was served up properly. Last few years you only have to look at the sidewalk, outside how filthy it is, and wonder should you even step inside. The service is pretty bad.and unhygienic at times in the kitchen. I've seen food handled without gloves, after pushing one's hair back out of their face. you almost always get the wrong order at the drive through if you don't check before you drive off... I have had some of the most rude people at the front counter but on the other hand, some very gracious and concerned people help me. You can almost be sure that they are not taught this, but iti's an inate character plus. That said, a dirty looking place to eat, could be cleaned up and the service is horrible and slow, usually when I have gone in there . it's not a good dining experience, to say the least. read more

A while back, I had read also some not so positive reviews of this Carls Jr.... but I have to be honest with you, they are so sweet in there and the management keeps the place spotless ... I go there to have meals,, and the kids that work there are so awesome sweet and thoughtful. They always treat me with respect and make sure my orders are correct.. Megan on the morning shift (sometimes different shifts) and all the girls (and boys) are just the most outstanding crew ever. Don't get me wrong--this place has it's problems. But, tonight, the cashier caught that my zuc was not extra crispy like I ordered it and made them re-do it (I'm not sure why/when Carl's corporate determined that all zuc orders should be under-done and the batter gooey, but when I discovered the extra crispy order a couple of months ago, I started enjoying their zuc again). My family and I stopped by after lacrosse practice for a quick bite to eat. The service wasn't bad but nothing spectacular either. What really got to me was that I had sent my youngest into the bathroom to wash his hands after practice and he came back to report there was no soap dispenser. When it was reported to the staff one was grabbed from the women's restroom and moved to the men's. I asked the staff member (who was male) how they washed their hands with no soap and instead of a response he shrugged and said "do you want the soap or not". Waited in a long line, that was not an issue, but I got to the window where no one greeted me and then they finally came to window tried handing me a bag dnd had not charged me. I'm too lazy to write a long review so I'm going to be frank this Carl's juniors don't have good service at night I'm not sure who's the manager but I come here after work around midnight and I always get poor service I am in a thin line between not coming here so I am going to try to look for something else since I am on the road a lot. Also they seem not to take any debit cards at night only cash I suspect they're stealing money because one of the employees seem to have a calculator when she or he can punch in the order in the POS system so I don't know what's the deal I ask them what's going on I need a receipt and they simply replied the machine don't work that's the second time, I'm not sure if this is official but they also said they can't serve Burrito verde menu at night. read more

The man in front of me in line didn't get all his change, the cashier was arguing that he didn't have enough cash in his drawer to make his change properly. I went here a couple times just after midnight. Slow as hell and they look like bums with no uniforms. Ive never had bad food just overcooked once and forget asking for a shake that late... It was always "down". What made me stop going was when they shut down the drive through because they had a truck. TWICE IN A ROW! The place is 24/7. Not 23/7. Just so happened i picked their scheduled team breaktime? Either way horrible service is not worth spending more than cooking my own meal and hardees is the only fast food i am willing to eat. Just not this one, which happens to be on my way home. So, no hardees anymore thanks to one lazy team of overworked and underpaid people who chose entry level work as a full time career path...
