Do not go here if you have a specific choice on how you like your food because the employees do not care. I got a western bacon cheeseburger with just meat, cheese and bacon and no sauce and no onion rings and they gave me onion rings and barbecue sauce. We DoorDash the food, and it came in cold. I do not recommend getting hot cocoa at all. It is just literally water that is extremely hot with no flavoring. I feel bad for these guys maybe they don't have enough customers which is why service and food are lacking love. But my food wasn't as good as it usually is back home which is Long Beach area. They had me wait on side for what felt like 10 minutes and they had NO ketchup... womp womp like how can you not have any ketchup. Might be one of the worst Carl's Jr.'s I've ever been to. I guess the one star is for convenience; close to work and on the way home. There isn't a whole lot of fast food options in Big Bear, so by default I might end up here again one day- anticipating that juicy taste of the famous star with cheese and the crunch of those cross cut fries dipped in ranch. But I will most likely be let down every time I come to this location. This is such a shame. They shouldn't even be able to put the sign up or advertise being a Carl's Jr., it's like a huge tease without putting out. False advertisement and emotional abuse if you ask me lol Avoid this place at all cost, and hopefully when business is plummeting they will close and put something worth while, or change management to someone who knows the real quality of Carl's Jr. Food. read more

We were coming back down to San Bernardino on 10-09-2023 , me and my boyfriend stopped by to get some food around 10am I ordered 3pc tender combo and he got a breakfast combo with a Powerade . They told us to park and we waited 15 damn minutes and the girl comes running to the car and says have a great day. We looked in the bag and the only thing there was, was MY food. I'm not sure why we actually went to this location, but there was not a lot of options at the time I guess but it was empty inside there was nobody there. There was like four workers that were working and they were just kind of standing around. They seem like they were younger up to employees I think maybe they just weren't wanting to work that early in the morning I'm not sure, but it was like it took a while for us to get our food which kind of surprised me because it was empty. Unfortunately there was hair, somehow grilled into my sandwich as bread which was not appetizing so I had to return it, and when I got the replacement, they just kind of like threw it together the bun was hardly even toasted at all and nothing was melted. I'm just kind of like they slapped it all together and handed it to me which was not very professional like and they even did and never once said they were sorry never once said apologize or nothing so I will probably never go back to that location again was not worth the money either. Every time I drive through this Carl's in big bear they get my order wrong I ordered a superstar which is double patties. I ordered four of them $27 and they always give me one Patty. Honestly don't like giving bad reviews, but when it's needed I got to be honest for the community. So workers were very friendly, but took way to long to get our food. Behind the counter was such a mess. Food all over the place. People were getting upset. Took make positive of this manager came out and helped serve the food much faster. I've been a local for over 4 years now and this is hands down THE WORST Carl's Jr in the chain. The people who work here, whether drive through OR inside, are some of the slowest, RUDEST people I've ever had the misfortune of encountering at a fast food restaurant. Carl's Jr (Moreno Valley and Ontario locations) used to be my absolute favorite fast food place, but I've been here in the Big Bear location twice in 4 years (because it was so hideous) and I have vowed to go hungry before I ever darken their door or drive through again. First off, the order is wrong, and I know from reading through the comments that I am NOT the only one who finds this to be true. Yet the employees act like you're the only person who has complained about it and instead of fixing the problem, they are defensive and downright rude and insulting, no matter how tactfully it is addressed. Next, the food is NOT made how it's supposed to be made, corners are cut, the food appears to be precooked once a day and then served cold. Frankly, in a word, it SUCKS. Why pay good money (and it isn't cheap!) to get wrong orders, horrific food and a complete lack of customer service? By far, though, is the fact that there is NO sense of urgency, as if they're hoping the people will eventually give up and go somewhere else. 40 minutes in the drive through seems to be the standard. The first time, there were 3 cars in front of me and I'd wanted a Buttery Jack (which had NO garlic butter, btw!...tasted like a plain $2 burger for $6) and fries, soda, but the 2nd and last time I will EVER go back, was for just a soda and a shake. Who has to wait 40 minutes for a soda and a shake??? I pulled out of the drive through and went in and they let me stand at the counter for TEN minutes, even though I said, "excuse me" twice. Then after I explained that I wanted to get my drinks, it still took an additional 10-15 minutes to actually GET them. Absolutely unacceptable, as well as UNBELIEVABLE. Who doesn't serve drinks while waiting for other components of other's meals to get done?? Most disturbing though, is that management doesn't give a crap. It is obvious by the rude treatment of paying customers going unchallenged and the filthy state of the restaurant, as well as proof to how people think about this restaurant being 100% visible on this website, yet nothing ever changes. This place is always dirty, trash cans overflowing, and dispensers empty. I love Carl's but the mgmt here is clueless. We were in today about 2:30, no one in line, and we waited several minutes without even being acknowledged. The mgr was walking back and forth in front of us but never gave us a glance. I had ONE NIGHT in Big Bear with my family. We were all hungry and decided to grab a quick bite before enjoying quality time with each other. Alas, the ordeal was anything but quick. We ordered a regular cheeseburger and a chicken tender combo. No extras, no substitutions. You would think maybe a ~5 minute wait, tops, right? Get this: we were in the drive-through line for FORTY MINUTES before we got our food. And mind you, the line was a pretty normal size, about five or six cars in front of us. I cannot for the life of me figure out how a fast food restaurant could be so slow. Looking through the window, it looked like a bunch of high schoolers who just started their first day and the manager was out. Just total incompetence. And the worst part? They didn't care. There was no urgency, no care in the world about the cars they were stalling and the family time they were stealing from us. No sense that anything was amiss at all. And certainly no apology; after all, if you have read some of these other reviews, you can see that this is the standard state of affairs for this particular branch. This restaurant is an absolute disgrace to the Carl's Jr. brand. They need new management and new employees who actually give a damn about customer satisfaction. read more

Visited this location awhile ago when we came to Big Bear for Fourth of July. We parked and shopped around the street with all the little shops and of course, were starving after being on the road for 2 hours. There aren't that many restaurant selections for we only found one other place to eat which was pretty expensive ($15-20/person). We only wanted a quick grab to eat so we ended up at Carl's Jr. Place was pretty packed - mostly out-of-town folks. Considering the amount of people visiting, they should really consider extending the store to accommodate the large groups that visit. I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta sandwich for the first time and it was the most delicious thing I'd ever tasted from Carl's Jr. I've continued to order it from other Carl's Jr. and they can't seem to really compare to this location.
