    Me buying my first Mercedes
    Austin K.

It was very smooth. I wanna say I was only there for an hour. The environment was serene. I had my paperwork ready I was in and out. The man that helped me was informative and handled himself very well. I would recommend this car mats or Carmax to others.

I've always been a skeptical person, especially when it comes to doing business. In the past, I purchased all my vehicles with cash to avoid the pressure and tactics often used by dealerships. However, the Replace Your Ride program required that I buy from a participating dealer--leaving me no choice but to explore that route. Before trying CarMax, I visited a Toyota dealership where I felt like just another number. I wasn't treated with warmth or sincerity--instead, I felt like a walking dollar sign. That experience left me feeling anxious and hesitant about moving forward with a purchase. Fortunately, a friend of mine who also went through the Replace Your Ride program recommended CarMax. He had a great experience buying his vehicle there and explained the process to me. His confidence encouraged me to do some research, and I found that CarMax is widely recognized for its transparency. That gave me hope. I had a vehicle shipped to the CarMax LAX location, and without even making an appointment, I walked in to check it out. That's when I met Canaan. From the moment we spoke, Canaan was friendly, professional, and genuinely interested in helping me. He patiently answered all my questions and offered practical advice. His knowledge of the Replace Your Ride program made the entire process significantly smoother and more manageable. In my heart, I felt that purchasing from CarMax was the right decision for my family and me. Although it took about a month and a half for everything to be finalized through the program, Canaan kept me in the loop every step of the way. He stayed in contact with my case manager and advocated for my application throughout the process. When everything was finally approved, Canaan called me to wrap things up over the phone before I came in for an express pickup. When my family and I arrived, all the paperwork was ready, and to our delight, there was a beautiful yellow CarMax bow on our new vehicle. Canaan even took the time to capture the moment with photos of my family and me--something I'll always treasure. He offered some final tips and information about the vehicle and reassured me that I'd made the best possible decision. I can say wholeheartedly that this experience was seamless and, most importantly, stress-free--something I never thought I'd say about buying a car. Thank you, Canaan, for being the face of CarMax and for making such a meaningful impact on this journey.

I've had my car for about a month now and wanted to leave a well-deserved review for Mr. Afshin at CarMax. From start to finish, he was professional, patient, and very helpful throughout the entire process. He took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything clearly, and made the experience smooth and stress-free. I never felt rushed or pressured, which I really appreciated, and he made sure I was comfortable and confident with my purchase. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm very happy with my car. I would definitely recommend Mr. Afshin to anyone looking to buy a vehicle at CarMax.

    Paid cash.

TJ is a LAIR and a sleazy sales manager . I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a recent vehicle purchase I made at CarMax. Prior to completing the purchase on Friday, I identified obvious cosmetic damage on the vehicle and specifically requested that the issue be addressed before I finalized payment. I also asked if I could delay the purchase until the repairs were completed. I was informed that this was not possible, and that the vehicle could not be guaranteed to be held, as it might be sold to another customer. Based on this, I was advised to proceed with the purchase and return on Monday so the service department could review and resolve the issue, since it was closed over the weekend. However, when I called Monday morning, I was told that I did not have an appointment and would need to wait until the following Monday--the final day of my 10-day return period. This timeline was not acceptable, as it did not give me a fair opportunity to evaluate the vehicle after repairs. Additionally, I find it concerning that the vehicle was transferred from another CarMax location and, to my understanding, should have undergone an inspection upon arrival. Either the cosmetic damage was overlooked during inspection or it was knowingly left unaddressed prior to sale. In either case, I should not have been placed in a position where I felt pressured to purchase a vehicle with known defects. Although I was later offered the option to have the vehicle repaired, I was also informed that the 10-day return policy would not be extended. This creates an unreasonable situation, as I would not have adequate time to assess the vehicle after repairs are completed. Given these circumstances, I do not feel confident proceeding with this purchase and intend to return the vehicle. I believe this situation reflects a lack of transparency and flexibility that has significantly impacted my experience.

My first grown up car - go see Canaan. He's the man!
    Ran C.

Walked in the front door and was met by Canaan at the front desk. Told him I was there to buy a car. And that's what I did. We walked over and got seated and gave him the parameters I was looking for. And after we found a few; eliminated a bunch - we took a walk on the lot to see the cars up close and personal. Got me my first grown up car. No pressure. Just expert knowledge, professional and real. I ended up choosing an Acura which by some stroke of luck, Canaan was very well versed on the brand. So, not only did I get what I wanted, I received an in depth tutorial on the bells and whistles before I drove off the lot. There was zero sales tactics. It was like he was a friend out at the dealer with me going over car facts and opinions to help me choose my next ride. In and out. No hassle. No haggle. Got what I wanted. If only all sales transactions were this smooth and easy.

    My new baby, fully loaded.

We told our salesperson, Maximus, that we had the money ready and would be driving down from Northern California within about a week to purchase it. Instead of simply holding the car, he immediately used pressure tactics, claiming it would likely sell unless we put down a **$500 refundable deposit**. Once we paid the deposit, the dealership marked the vehicle as sold and removed the listing, CarFax, and all of the vehicle information from their website. When we later asked for the CarFax again, Maximus suddenly became "too busy" to respond, despite previously replying almost instantly. Before making the trip, we specifically asked if there would be any issues paying with a cashier's check on July 4th since banks would be closed. Maximus told us to send him a photo of the check several days in advance so he could have it verified beforehand. We did exactly that, and he confirmed everything was good to go. After driving several hours to the dealership, everything fell apart. First, the vehicle was nothing like it had been represented. We were told it had new tires, yet the front tires had a 2012 manufacture date. The car was filthy, covered in scratches and paint chips, had faded paint, broken buttons, rattling mirrors, suspension issues, exhaust problems, and cheap aftermarket parts. Based on its condition, it likely needed close to **$10,000** in repairs. After spending hours test driving the car and completing paperwork, we were suddenly told our cashier's check had **never been verified**, despite Maximus previously confirming that it had been. The only option they offered was financing, which conveniently came with numerous undisclosed fees. Maximus repeatedly insisted he had verified the check until the finance manager called him out in front of us for lying and told us he would be **firing Maximus because this wasn't the first time he had made this kind of mistake**. Whether that was genuine or just for show, it was incredibly unprofessional. Read every line of the paperwork. The contracts included several undisclosed fees and add-ons, including a vehicle tracker we never requested. We believe many of these practices are deceptive, and **we will be filing complaints with both the FTC and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).** To make matters worse, getting our refundable deposit back became another ordeal. After we decided not to purchase the vehicle, they repeatedly stalled and told us to leave, promising they would send the refund later. We refused to leave without our money and informed them that we would involve the police if necessary. The moment law enforcement was mentioned, our $500 refund was processed within minutes. This was, without question, one of the worst dealership experiences we've ever had. Between the misleading description of the vehicle, high-pressure sales tactics, contradictory information, questionable contract practices, and the difficulty getting our own money back, I cannot recommend Car Lux Inc. to anyone. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration, and buy your car somewhere else.

Sure they'll finance you.. but it's not worth it in the least. A cautious hit or miss. I purchased a 2018 Acura TLX in 2023--they stated there was no past damage or issues. During the test run the car wouldn't even start!! They panicked and whipped out the ol' battery charger and told me to go inside to discuss financing while they worked on the car (first red flag). Discussed financing and went back out to see the vehicle, they continued with the battery charger since it was still having issues (second red flag).. why display or attempt to sell a car that won't even start? Eventually they claimed they "replaced" the battery (found out they didn't). Made it home, & a WEEK later.. the ENGINE FAILED!! I went through hell with the financing company as I still had to make payments despite the car being out of commission for FOUR MONTHS!! It was covered under warranty, however, the auto shop claimed the engine had shards of metal & attempted to point the finger at me although I only had the car for a week. A loaner vehicle was also promised--but I was given the runaround & eventually lied to about accommodations during that difficult time. All in all, their methods were unprofessional, haphazard & performed bare minimum to resolve issues only enough to cover themselves. I read bad reviews beforehand but thought "what are the chances of it happening to me" & low & behold.. it happened. Please be cautious & very thorough before committing to this dealership. We were then told by the sales staff that Hertz "does not work with" our credit union and that we would be required to use Hertz financing instead. We were told we could refinance later -- which would mean paying additional interest and fees that we had already avoided by securing our own financing. When we contacted Hertz Car Sales corporate through Facebook to confirm whether outside credit unions are allowed, we received a vague response saying our credit union "doesn't qualify," without any clear explanation of why or what criteria were used. This directly conflicts with what our credit union told us and mirrors what many other reviewers here have reported -- customers being pressured into dealer financing even when they already have funding in place. We were not asking for a discount, special pricing, or anything unusual -- only to use our own lender, which is standard practice at most dealerships. Refusing to accept outside financing effectively forces buyers into higher-cost loans and removes real choice from the transaction. We were ready to buy this car but ultimately walked away because we were not willing to take on unnecessary interest and fees just to complete the sale. We hope Hertz Car Sales corporate will review how they handle outside financing and credit unions, because this experience did not match the transparent, no-hassle process that Hertz advertises. Before making the trip, I had multiple conversations regarding the vehicle and financing. I was led to believe that I was approved with $0 down and was even given information about what my monthly payment would be. I specifically communicated with them beforehand because I did not want to waste my time driving this far if the terms weren't going to work for me. When I arrived, however, the situation was completely different. I was told I would need approximately $3,500 down. What made this even more frustrating was finding out that my credit had not even been run when I had previously been given the impression that I had been approved. When I questioned the difference between what I was told before arriving and what I was being told in person, the explanation was essentially that the people I had been speaking with were part of a "call center." That was shocking to me because, as a customer, I had no reason to believe I wasn't speaking with representatives giving me accurate information on behalf of this dealership. Afterward, I started reading other reviews more closely and found another customer describing an eerily similar experience involving the call center giving information over the phone that did not match what they encountered after arriving. Had I seen that review beforehand, I would not have made the trip. I understand that financing terms can change after an actual credit application is submitted and reviewed by a lender. What I do NOT appreciate is being given the impression that I was already approved for certain terms, making a long trip based on those representations, and then finding out after arriving that the situation was completely different. Thankfully, I did not allow the time and effort I spent getting there to pressure me into accepting a deal I wasn't comfortable with. I walked away. My advice to anyone considering purchasing a vehicle here: get everything in writing before making the trip. Ask whether your credit has actually been submitted, whether you have an actual lender approval versus a preliminary quote, exactly how much money will be required at signing, and request an itemized breakdown of all costs and fees. I was prepared to purchase a vehicle. I simply expected the information I received before arriving to match what I was presented with once I got there. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

This isn't including the $3800 they wanted to charge for tires (I didn't ask for tires). When I reminded my guy that he forgot to include how much it would be to get a 2nd key for my 2023 Grand Cherokee, the price came back as $867.66. For a key I can buy online for under $100 brand new. I asked to put it all in writing, including the part #s, and let them know I'd be picking it up to take it elsewhere. When I went to pick it up, it took nearly 20mins just to pay and get my paperwork because my guy closed the ticket without printing out the recommended parts first which then apparently vaporized those recommended part #s. At least he wrote the part numbers in by hand but his proof they were correct was basically, "trust me bro." When I asked him why the prices went up a third time, he blamed their computer system for not calculating labor correctly (which didn't exactly make me feel confident of the final estimates). No "Junk" Fees: Charging for "valueless" add-ons--such as oil change packages for electric vehicles--is a prohibited practice. Bait-and-Switch Prohibitions: If a dealership advertises a vehicle at a specific price, they cannot later force you to pay for "mandatory" add-ons that were not disclosed in the original advertised price. This is considered deceptive advertising. Explicit Disclosure: Dealers are required to provide a written document (often under California Civil Code §2982) that itemizes the price of any products or services you are purchasing. You must give your clear consent for these items. I was a guaranteed sale. I walked in with $20,000 down payment and a $40,000 check from my credit union. I left angry but thankful for (1) I was only there for 20 minutes and (2) Chi's professionalism. I purchased a used Tesla the next morning from Tesla Norwalk (Wonderful experience!). DO NOT GO TO LA CITY.

Great service and will always give you the best price!…read more I had a quote from Lexus for my 2016 CT200H for $13,316 and Bidlane was able to outbid for $13,700. Big shout out to Christian for working overtime to make sure I could sell same day even though we were a bit past closing. Highly recommend taking your car to Bidlane.

Unresolved Payment Issue with Bidlane. I recently sold my 2020 Honda Civic Sport to Bidlane on…read moreSeptember 2, 2023 at there LAX- Inglewood location and I've been facing significant issues since then. Unfortunately, as of today, September 14, 2023, payment had not been issued for the sale, and my attempts to communicate with Bidlane have been futile. There is no answer when calling and I've emailed multiple times. I received 1 text communication on 9/6/23 from Nicole from the "Bidlane car Buying Center" with a tracking number that reflects no check has been received. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. When I initially decided to sell my car through Bidlane, I expected a smooth and straightforward transaction. However, the fact that they have not issued payment for the vehicle two weeks after the sale is deeply concerning. I've made multiple attempts to contact Bidlane to inquire about the status of the payment, but I have not received any response or clarification regarding the delay. A check was supposed to be issued but that takes long and via email requested to electronic payment to Honda Finance Exchange Inc. This lack of communication and transparency has left me feeling unsupported and uncertain about the situation. I would have appreciated a more professional and proactive approach from Bidlane in resolving this matter. It's essential for businesses to uphold their commitments and maintain open lines of communication with their customers. I hope that Bidlane can address this issue promptly and provide the payment that is rightfully owed. This experience has left me with a negative impression, and after reviewing the Yelp and google negative reviews you can see the same issue continuously happens at the pay out phase. In will be updating this review as the stirring continues to develop. UPDATE: 9/14/23 10:15am Called over 10 times and was transferred to full voicemail boxes of; Stephanie, Lauren, Nicole or kept getting automatically transferred and hanged up without speaking to anyone. The 2 times I was able to speak to a human was Veronica and Lorena. Lorena claimed I was already called yesterday (9/13/23) by "management" she didn't want to give me a name, stating they have helped me but that was not true because no one called me and claimed its only been 9 business days but the car was sold and handed off with keys on 9/2/2023 (today is 9/14/23). UPDATE: 9/14/23 11:03am Was told by "Nicole" via text the check was sent and handed off by her personally and that USPS misplaced or lost it. However, I was able to verify that they never submitted the check to USPS per the tracking number they provided. I texted back showing her screenshots of me verifying USPS never got anything but pre-shipment info on 9/7/23. UPDATE: 9/14/23 11:43am Got a text response from Nicole, re-stating the check was handed personally be her self and the check was misplaced or lost on USPS end. Claimed that she will open a claim or re-issue a new check. She said she will follow up by the end of day today 9/14/23. UPDATE: 9/14/23 12:53pm I called USPS my self. Verified that only a electronic notice was sent to USPS on 9/7/23 and nothing was dropped off. At 1:06pm I sent a text to Nicole informing her of my findings and sent a screenshot to back up my findings that USPS has never taken possession of the alleged Check that was claimed to be dropped off personally. UPDATE 9/19/23 Its Tuesday, haven't gotten a call back from "Nicole" who said she was going to contact me yesterday Monday with an update they they check was going to be re-issued.
