Do NOT buy a car from them! Bought a 2013 Mazda CX-5 and within 20 days, the car became undrivable, jerking out of gear on the freeway with all sorts of check lights on. Took it back to them, they said it was fixed, on the drive home it happened again! Had to be towed back and they claimed to have fixed it again. The next day it happened again! So went back in, they took it in to a Mazda dealership and the issue was resolved. Fast forward to today, a year later, I take my car in to CarMax for an oil change, and after driving off, the same thing happens where the check engine light, traction light and tire pressure lights came on and it would shake out of gear that I could not drive. I called them to let them know, and they tell me a supervisor will call me back. 2 hours later, nothing, so I call back and get the run around. Finally, K spoke with Candace Pitts, and she is telling me this isn't from the oil change. It happened right after so it had to happened at CarMax! But nobody wants to take the blame. I was told they will send a tow truck, then the next time I speak to her, she tells me to get my own tow and take it to a Mazda dealership since they can't take a look at it until 5/1. Went to CarMax to purchase a vehicle, the sales rep that sold me my car was great but that's about all That was great ... you have 30 days to find anything wrong with the vehicle and bring it in and they will fix it, but I wish it was 30 days to give the damn car back! Engine noises, malfunction errors on the dash screen as well as constant low tire pressure in the rear tire... took it in for service with my 30 days and was basically told my the attendant or tech that there's nothing they can do about it and if they can't replicate it then that's too bad and i have to monitor it on my own..... that's not what I'm paying for when i purchased maxcare, but this isn't even that yet!.... this is your jurisdiction CarMax because it's still in the 30 days !! Being talked down to by the tech like I don't know how a 4 cyl turbo on a bmw works is shameful. That's not what I'm paying for even if I didn't know anything about cars which i definitely do know quite a bit ... was quite upset and spoke to the manager to ensure that the tech actually did a proper job and looked into the issues properly which i didn't trust he would sue to the way we spoke...the manager who didn't know much about cars seemingly herself but tried to defuse the situation be telling me that my information isn't correct because my care is older.... it's a 2012 lady unless the turbo needs replacing too and that wasn't done either... That was also aggravating. After my car was "done" in service. The tech was showing something to me with the manager standing right there and he told he "I don't know you need to read your manual". That's a disgrace ... your own techs don't even know the answers? Maybe they should read the manuals of the cars they are working on! Because if I have an issue and the tech doesn't know then they bloody well better find out before bringing my car back to me saying it's all done! Because that means I don't trust you did anything else correctly and makes me worry about your ability to even work on the car. I was also informed that the back tired seriously need replacing (which is where the low pressure is). Not sure how these tires passed your so called 60-hour 125 point inspection then huh? That's a bunch of lies ... if something needs replacing why are you selling it? I signed the supposed inspection showing the checked box that the tires were great... After the manager made it out as those it was my fault and problem because they don't fix driver wear and tear she Informed me that CarMax would be replacing them for me... that's about the only good thing to come out of this day. But still making it sounds as though they are doing me the favor for an issue they bypassed in the first place hoping no one would notice. Those tires haven't arrived yet for me to have put on the car yet but I was told the low pressured tire was fine with no leaks (in the last 30 days I've added air three times)... the very next morning guess what... low tire pressure alerts again on the dash board!!!! So clearly there is a problem that wasn't cared to be fixed even after taking it in. This is very concerning regarding safety especially driving with toddlers in the car you hope that your service center is actually doing their job and are truthful when telling you your car is safe.... thankfully I purchased the MaxCare top tier so that I can take the car elsewhere or to bmw directly for Servicing because I will NEVER be doing business with CarMax again now that the 30 days is over... it's one thing for there to already be problems with a car that was supposedly checked out before sale which is absolutely unacceptable . It's another thing to be treated like that my employees. I definitely recommending that no one utilize CarMax for their purchasing needs especially not their service needs. I have to write two separate reviews since I have had to go there 3 times for 2 different reasons. The first reason was the purchase of my beautiful new car. Ivan was an absolute professional and knowledgeable sales rep. He was the antithesis of those car sales guys that see you as a walking dollar sign. He showed Mr what I wanted to see and didn't try to guess what I wanted. It was customer service at its absolute best. The car I wanted was shipped to me and was emailed a status update as its progress approached. When I finally picked it up, it was exactly what I wanted. The signing process as usual took a long time but we spent it talking like friends as he explained the note/the options and add ons/and payments. If I could give zero stars, I would. We bought a 2012 Chrysler 200 two months ago and driving it home on day one we noticed multiple issues with the way it drove. Called them to fix it and they kept the car for two weeks with absolutely no communication, didn't check what we asked them to check and they repaired the heater core. Not even a week later, same issue so we took it to another location. They kept it for a week and gave it back, after saying it only needed 2 quarts of transmission fluid. Where to begin! The CarMax team had the mileage wrong by 1000 miles on my paperwork. I'm a disabled veteran and they knew this based on my application and they insisted I come to them and not the other way around to fix the paperwork. Ok I'll come in on my time and sit for the hour requested while they fix their mistake. They sit me down and he is about to rerun my credit and I stop him from clicking and ask him if that's what he is doing. This is manager Brian. He says to me that they have to re run the credit. He wasn't even going to tell me he was just going to do it. The problem I have with this is the previous day I had let them know that the person accompanying me was my girlfriend and caretaker and that she helps me to make decisions because my cognitive function is not so sharp due to my disability from the war. They have, or have access to every make, model, size and color you'd want! The prices are higher than other dealerships--that's for certain, but they make up for it in their warranty offers. They'll get you approved for financing, so don't fret! You've entered Car Dealership Heaven! Unknowingly, you're being seduced, and you're crawling into bed with a huge corporation, and the only rubber that CarMax is aware, is the rubber that rolls each vehicle they sell, right off of their lot. Beware! CarMax has been to bed with millions, and they don't get tested for STDs. First, regardless what your salesperson tells you, your credit is hit HARD by every inquiry. I was told by numerous salespersons that "the credit bureaus know you are shopping for a car and they take this into account." WRONG! CarMax does NOT finance you on an AMOUNT of money. CarMax finances you PER CAR. Each car you might want to purchase has to be run against your credit. This is a lame-ass model of business--especially for a beast such as CarMax. KNOW exactly what you want and choose no more than one or two cars. Period. Hopefully your experience is short and sweet, but if the romance continues, I fear for you. Unfortunately, two weeks after my purchase, I totaled my dream car on a country road. Fortunately, I had GAP insurance and I was 100% covered. I shrugged the comment off, for I had been seduced, had gone all the way, with risky behavior, and had no sign of any infection. I was to shop at CarMax again. Loyal, repeat customers would be treated well! WRONG! I found my next car--no dream. My credit score was 80 points lower than the previous month, much to do with CarMax's credit checks. I was astounded that CarMax refused to give me decent percentage rates. The down payment demands were horrendous as well, and I was financing $10,000 less than my previous loan! This is the no-hassle dealership. No negotiations. A car is a car. A price is a price. A human is a consumer--someone from whom to make money. CarMax doesn't view any aspect of the consumer, except the profit that they will make on this ONE deal. Remember: YOU ARE NOTHING TO THEM BUT PROFIT! Still being stupid, I found a car and had it transferred to my store. They had it for quite some time, cleaning it and whatnot. Meanwhile, the insurance company was working on my claim, and I'm in a rental car. Insurance is not quick when paying off a car when it's totaled, but we are talking less than 20 days. CarMax was going to be paid off. They were going to receive an additional $3,200 which was to be paid to me. Things were looking positive again. Finally, I received a call and was told, "Your car is here and ready. Come in to pick it up, pay your down payment and do the paperwork." I replied, "I hoped my down payment could be the money that is coming from my insurance company." I was told, "No. You must pay NOW and CarMax will not hold your car until your insurance pays off your loan." They released it to the public right then. The car had been transferred for me, but they couldn't wait one week . . . My insurance pays for a rental only 5 days after you are INFORMED that your car is totaled. It takes about 10-12 days for the lien holder to get paid though. That left me with about a week of renting a vehicle on my own. Stupidly, without any protection, I asked CarMax if they'd loan me a car for a few days since they KNEW they were being paid off. They KNEW they were going to have my money in THEIR name. They KNEW I had my new loan, with a high percentage rate and a high down payment, and they still told me "NO!" Need I say more? My husband and I went to CarMax in South Sac/Elk Grove on 6/19/2021 so we could look at/test drive multiple cars in one place. The car selection was good and fairly priced but the customer service was awful. Our salesperson, Kristy, did not walk outside and show us a single vehicle. After walking the lot alone we fell in love with a car and asked our sales person to show us comparable cars and she dismissed us and told us to go home and just look online. When we test drove the car we loved (we were only allowed 2 total) and came back she immediately rushed outside and forced us out of the car and treated us as if we were criminals trying to steal the car; she took the keys and drove off and went back to her desk without any other word. She didn't show us any features and when we asked she just pointed us to the window sticker. We loved it so much we ended up buying even though service was bad. We both have excellent credit scores (high 700s/low 800s) and CarMax offered us 6.5% APR through CarMax financing and refused to send to any other financing entity. We moved forward and ended up switching to a credit union the next day that offered us 2.4% APR. To make a long story short, after paying 22,000 for a car. Threehours later I finally get in it; ready to drive home and there are 3 warning lights on the dashboard. Apparently the people in the back just decided to ignore them. Two of the alerts: low tire pressure and low key battery were literally flashing so there is no possible way they could have missed it. I was then told that they pumped up the tires and it has to be driven in order for the alert to turn off. I ask about the battery and the salesman tells me that they didn't notice and he will go get the batteries. He then comes back and says they don't have the batteries, but I can drive to the nearest Autozone to go get them and they'll refund me (LOL). So I start driving to the Autozone and I get a call from the salesman saying he forgot to give me my temporary registration so make sure to call him when I get back (LOL AGAIN). I get the batteries at Autozone and the guy there gives me the wrong receipt (not CarMax fault) so when I get back they can't refund me without the receipt nor do they put any effort into rectifying the situation (lol). In other words I end up paying for the batteries that should have come with the car. The salesman then tells me that he "figured out" the low tire pressure alert and that we have to turn it off manually. He then does so. This means that the person who told me I should "drive it until it turns off" either: 1) Didn't know and decided to say something random so I'd leave or 2) lied. I also asked them to take the sticky CarMax sticker off the back which also didn't happen. I asked why not and the salesman literally said "I don't know man, sometimes the people in the back are kind of lazy". He just threw the back end of the store under the bus. Who does that. At this point I'm just sick of these people and decide to leave. I know they didn't act out of malice, but if they had been putting any thought or effort into it the process none of this weird stuff would have happened. Forgot to give me the registration? Wtf?? I also forgot to mention that I made an appointment to test drive the car at 11am. When I got there they said they "couldn't find it" and blah blah didn't find it until after 11:30. I also think it's worth noting that I'm 22 and look really young. They were actually doing a decent job until my mom left and then their behavior totally changed! As if they didn't have to worry about doing their job now that it was just a kid they were dealing with. I decided to leave the names of the people out of the review but good grief. None of this was normal. This was just for a basic Honda Civic. You might buy an expensive car and the complications would be much more serious. I will never use CarMax again... The process of selling my vehicle took about one year. The first six months of that was on me and the other six months was on CarMax. I received 5 offers over a six month period. Each time I came in on an appointment with my offer you gave another reason why you could not do it yet and I ran back and forth to DMV 5 times. The second to the last time was because my title only had my first and last name and all my offer and paperwork had first, middle and last so you sent me to DMV to add my middle name. Having DMV redo my title took several months. The crazy thing is my first offer was for 4000 when we came in to buy a car and sell the car. Over the coarse of six months the offer continued to substantially drop until finally you only offered my 2200. This was a total scam and the only reason your offer went down was because we purchased a 35,000 car from you already and now there was no new car purchase on the table so immediately only a month later your offer went down 1000. And your excuse was the market had changed but it had not according to Kelly Blue Book and Edmonds, you just had all the power now since I had purchased the other car a month earlier. In the end, which was over about six months and 5 offers later at 2200, I still sold the car to you because it was easier then private selling it and I was completely burnt out and largely because of you and your bad business practices. There is absolutely no way to explain what you did to me in the process. I run a small business for the last 30 years and if I did business and handled my customers the way you did me, I would be out of business. This has been the greatest day! It all started a week ago when my husband and I decided that we needed to get a fire evacuation plan in place. This would mean switching all of our cars around to get a truck and trailer but in order to make this fit within our budget, I needed to trade in my sedan for a smaller more affordable car. I noticed the Fiat 500 on their website a week ago and had it shipped FOR FREE to a store closer to where we live. Today, Saturday, August 29, we arrived to Carmax and my car was waiting for me. We test drove it and it was like a dream. The great thing about Carmax is there's no debating price and the trade-in amount they gave me for my Avalon hybrid was thousands of dollars higher than offers we received from Ford and Toyota. I really wanted to like this company. I bought my car from this company in November of 2016. It has been a constant trip back to carmax to get my car fixed. At this point now they've had my car longer than I've had the car in my possession. They replaced the spark plugs and a couple coil packs 3 times in 6 months and just kept clearing the misfire code and sending me on my way. And apparently it takes 2-3 weeks to change spark plugs because that's how long they had to have my car for. The loaner cars were no where near the performance or value of my car and it's not what I had in mind when I bought my Subaru. That being said it took them 3 weeks to change the turbo, and then they finally took a look at the engine and realized there were metal shavings in the oil, which I would assume why it had a misfire from the start. So they replaced the engine, which took 3 months... They're compensation for making me drive the worst car they could find was for me to either get my car reappraised which they offered me 7 thousand off of what I paid for the car, or they would pay 2 months of my car payments...overall disappointed with the company, and the service time. The only thing that has been good is it seems like the service manager, Kay Williams, actually cares about the person on the other side of the table. Business Manager, Travis, not so much. Did not have any real solutions for me. Said that he was trying to take car of me as best as he could and make me happy, but did nothing but leave me with a car that I will get rid of on my own and left me not wanting to ever recommend them as a viable option for buying a car. read more

Absolutely would not be buying a car from CarMax ever again. I purchased a vehicle and brought it in 1.5 months later complaining to them about the vehicle. I am not a mechanic so the best thing I can do is describe to them what is going on when I drive it. I explained that when I am on the freeway the car jerks and shakes and that it was not driving right. They claimed they fixed it and it was just a tire issue , well the car never stopped jerking and shaking and then the entire transmission went out. I had the car towed to Jeep, Jeep stated that the entire transmission was fried and never kept up and it was completely burned. I called Carmax and told them what Jeep stated since we just bought the car and Carmax stated there was nothing they can do since I never complained of transmission issues and they didn't service me for transmission. If I am not a mechanic , how am I supposed to know to tell them it's the transmission? I have to do the job for them? I am a nurse not a mechanic. I am so confused how they can't help because I didn't make them check out the transmission, how am I supposed to know? I am now stuck with a new purchased Jeep from CarMax and a $5,000 bill from Jeep to have them fix the transmission. Absolutely pathetic that I get overpowered on just because I am not a mechanic and didn't know it was the transmission. It's ok because I will get through it but I don't recommend purchasing from CarMax. On top of this, the service man MARTIN took our story about the vehicle in person and told us it was a tire issue. When we called back and spoke to MARTIN again, he took our story and said he would get back to us once he speaks with his manager/supervisor. Two days later, still no call so we called him. He had absolutely no recall that we spoke to him and gave him our story regarding the Jeep. So now we had to start over and tell him again, he instantly stated we would hear from HIS manager right away since we were already upset he forgot about our vehicle. Two days later, which is today, MARTIN calls and stated "after speaking with my manager, there is nothing we can do since we did not service the transmission due to no complains on the transmission". Again, I am not a mechanic , I am a young female nurse, how am I supposed to know it's a transmission problem? I don't even really know what a transmission is. This is horrifying. So yes we were lied to again because we never received a call from MARTINS manager/supervisor, it was him that called us and we no longer wanted to speak to him since he forgot us the first time. BEWARE: South Sac Carmax Employees *NOT* WEARING MASKS WHEN INTERACTING WITH CUSTOMERS! My rep today from Carmax in south sac was not wearing any mask, whatsoever. This was a scheduled, pre-planned meeting to see a car to buy and get an appraisal on a car to sell. At no point was I advised that my representative from Carmax would not be wearing a mask. I asked her why she wasn't wearing one (giving her the benefit of the doubt that perhaps she forgot it somewhere), and she asked if I would rather have a different representative, to which I replied "yes". Upon being assigned another representative, I was given a rep who wore his mask below his nose, and pulled it below his mouth to talk to me. I was so turned off by this experience I left and called the manager on my way home. I, along with all the customers at this Carmax, wear a mask to protect the safety of others and because it is the law/public health order. The worst experience ever!!! My daughter was persistent on going to this dealership which I opposed. Turned out my instinct was right. My daughter is a caregiver and qualified for a decent amount to purchase a vehicle. They gave her such a hard time by having her go through an ordeal of obstacles such as not being able to test drive the vehicle w/o having a print out of insurance(had proof on our app) needed to have her manager write a letter verifying income (Had check stubs) and the madness kept on continuing. I truly believe since she is young and African American they were giving her a hard time. Anyways we went to Roseville Automall and she received the proper treatment that she deserved!!! I tried to sell my car privately, but was unsuccessful. CarMax made me an offer that was quite a bit higher than dealership trade-ins and used car lots. It was only a couple thousand less than what I could have gotten privately. I got an an appraisal one weekend (took about 45 minutes) and sold it the next (took about 45 minutes). You're obviously not going to get quite as much as you would selling your car privately, but the ease of the process and the things you don't have to worry about (meeting strangers, sketchy payment, etc.) is pretty awesome. (4 stars) Update: I realized the day after I sold my car that I had accidentally left a personal frame on the rear plate. I have since spoken to four different people five different times in an attempt to locate the frame. The last couple of people I spoke to promised to look into it and call me back, but never did. We went to a few different places before trying CarMax to sell our BMW. We needed to sell to buy a wheelchair van. Lyn made a really depressing process easy for my husband. He was empathetic and professional. The next time we need a car I would 100% give them my business based on this interaction. Highly recommended and gave us a price we could live with for our car. Went to CARMAX, Sacramento, CA...I will never go back. Wanted to sell my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition. Mind you the Jeep is in excellent shape. I was offered $26,000.00 for my car, frigging taking advantage of me. I was appalled. The sales person Maria Ramirez-Ochoa, very nice and the appraiser, Michelle P, didn't talk to her. Kelley Blue Book showed value prices on my Jeep for trade-in and private party sell from $34k to $41k. I did just experience senior discrimination...I don't know...but I definitely was astounded by the appraisal offer. Such an insult to my intelligence. Be very careful when dealing with Carmax. If I could rate them at a zero, that's what I would give them. read more

Absolutely would not be buying a car from CarMax ever again. I purchased a vehicle and brought it in 1.5 months later complaining to them about the vehicle. I am not a mechanic so the best thing I can do is describe to them what is going on when I drive it. I explained that when I am on the freeway the car jerks and shakes and that it was not driving right. They claimed they fixed it and it was just a tire issue , well the car never stopped jerking and shaking and then the entire transmission went out. I had the car towed to Jeep, Jeep stated that the entire transmission was fried and never kept up and it was completely burned. I called Carmax and told them what Jeep stated since we just bought the car and Carmax stated there was nothing they can do since I never complained of transmission issues and they didn't service me for transmission. If I am not a mechanic , how am I supposed to know to tell them it's the transmission? I have to do the job for them? I am a nurse not a mechanic. I am so confused how they can't help because I didn't make them check out the transmission, how am I supposed to know? I am now stuck with a new purchased Jeep from CarMax and a $5,000 bill from Jeep to have them fix the transmission. Absolutely pathetic that I get overpowered on just because I am not a mechanic and didn't know it was the transmission. It's ok because I will get through it but I don't recommend purchasing from CarMax. On top of this, the service man MARTIN took our story about the vehicle in person and told us it was a tire issue. When we called back and spoke to MARTIN again, he took our story and said he would get back to us once he speaks with his manager/supervisor. Two days later, still no call so we called him. He had absolutely no recall that we spoke to him and gave him our story regarding the Jeep. So now we had to start over and tell him again, he instantly stated we would hear from HIS manager right away since we were already upset he forgot about our vehicle. Two days later, which is today, MARTIN calls and stated "after speaking with my manager, there is nothing we can do since we did not service the transmission due to no complains on the transmission". Again, I am not a mechanic , I am a young female nurse, how am I supposed to know it's a transmission problem? I don't even really know what a transmission is. This is horrifying. So yes we were lied to again because we never received a call from MARTINS manager/supervisor, it was him that called us and we no longer wanted to speak to him since he forgot us the first time. I am a Nurse and my husband is an Officer, we are not mechanics, we will definitely be sending them to court. -thank you for taking the time to read the review. read more

Do NOT buy a car from Carmax without having a qualified mechanic inspect it first. Their certified 125 point inspection is bunk. It either does not happen or the mechanics do a crappy job, or they just flat out lie about the condition. I purchased a car that had parts missing near the engine and parts taped together underneath. It was hard to notice because the car is black and the parts were taped with black tape. My husband noticed about a month later, which of course is past their 7 day return window. After Carmax failed to repair the vehicle, they refused to give me a full refund. I am now out $3k due to the negligence of their employees and due to their fraud and misrepresentation. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I will never buy a car here again. read more

I purchased a 2016 Toyota Corolla S-Plus in July of last year from their South Sacramento location. Customer Service was excellent (thanks Jordan !) and facilitated a relatively stress free car shopping experience. THIS IS MY ISSUE: I found a car I liked and had it transferred to my location. Upon looking closer at photos of it online I noticed what I thought were ash marks in the car. I asked Jordan via email (employee helping me) to look into the car's file to see if it was a smoker's car, because if it is it would be a deal breaker for me. (I assumed Carmax would keep this sort of stuff on file) Jordan promptly got back to me stating he couldn't find anything indicative of the car being smoked in. When I test drove the car there weren't any physical signs of it being owned by a cigarette smoker. The car's a.c and heater did smell like cherry, but I thought that it was just a temporary fragrance. Jump forward four months, the cherry smell has pretty much dissipated. It's cold out, so I turn on the heater, and start smelling cigarettes. The smell gets stronger and stronger and is coming from the a.c vents. However, my upholstery doesn't smell. Curious, I do research, and find out that ozone will almost entirely eliminate cigarette smoke odor, but the areas it can't always get to are the heater coils and the a.c ducts. There are odor blockers you spray in the a.c vents, but they are temporary, usually lasting around four months. I purchased this vehicle from Carmax about four months ago. Interesting. (For the record, when I spoke with both the manager and the person from corporate they were polite.) When speaking with this location's sales manager I was told I wasn't able to get my money back being that the four months I owned the car exceeds their return policy. But this is even more frustrating and concerning: He told me that if Carmax was to treat a vehicle with ozone or an odor blocker (not his exact words) that they won't put it on file or record unless the smell was very strong. Because of this they have no way of knowing for sure if the car was a smoker's car. I told him I came to Carmax because I wanted to avoid a situation like this. I also mentioned that this practice can pose a health risk and isn't fair to the consumer. He offered me a free ozone treatment, but couldn't offer anything else. I called corporate and repeated what the sales manager told me. The man from corporate I spoke to didn't denounce this. He said he was sorry that my experience with Carmax wasn't great and offered me a free ozone treatment. I highly recommend buying a car from somebody you can trust, or saving up the extra five or ten thousand dollars and buying a vehicle brand new. You and your family's health is invaluable. read more

When "buying" a car, man it's easy. Customer service is great it's awesome there's always like 15 or so sales people ready to assist. Service dept... WHOLE different story. Getting in touch with the service dept is pointless. 40 min later talking to so many people all i can get is a " i can take a name a number". Which i have tried before and never get a call back. Then they tell me due to covid we only have three people taking calls... (what about the salespeople....) so i have to drive up there anytime i want to simply "schedule" a appt... i have a brand new car from them and the alignment is off it pulls pretty hard to the right. So i send my wife since i work since i can't go in because i work, ( the service dept is not open on weekends and closed at 6pm ) but they tell my wife that a car will always pull to the right a little bit because that's how roads are built.. DO THEY THINK IM STUPID!! So i get the car back and it's still pulling to the right. So i take a video for them to show that when i let go of the steering wheel it will go to the next lane in a matter of 3-5 seconds..... anyways getting a hold of the service dept is worse than going to the DMV... service has sucked. Anyways thank you Yelp for letting me vent some of frustrations with Carmax... and carmax i hope someone sees this... Bought a car recently here. The sale went smoothly. I was impressed at how fast I got out the door compared to other dealership where you always end up hungry. With that sale, they also gave a 90 day warranty for any major system problems, parts both inside and out including labor. So I was feeling pretty good. Until, I drove my car long distance and notice a shrieking noise every time I stepped on my brakes and the blind spot assist going on and off. I dropped it off to Carmax for "service" in the morning. They called me late in the pm to tell me they don't currently have the parts and have to order it. I think their "service" calendar is really full because their next available schedule is next month. Next month came, the parts they ordered wasn't the one my car needs. Suffice to say, I came back 5 times after that since the parts ordered where not the right parts for my car. My mayhem started 1st week of June. They just fixed my brakes and blind spot assist on Sept 13. Their service personnel doesn't even emphasize with you. They just tell you - "you are just too particular when it comes to your car". Horrible experience and when you call them, it takes them 48hrs to return your call. read more

The sales end is great! Then you take your vehicle home and the trouble begins. My husbands truck had 2 lights come on within 6 days of owning it. He brought it in and they told him they couldn't look at it for about a week and a half! They gave him a loaner (a Nissan Sentra which isn't comparable to the vehicle he bought at all). Today, they finally took a look and basically said the issue is above their ability and it needs to go to Toyota. Not to mention, getting ahold of anyone or getting them to return your call is basically impossible. I do NOT recommend purchasing a vehicle here whatsoever. read more

We bought our Range Rover on 12/29/19 and the check engine light went on they kept it at the Roseville location oVer a week they kept telling us one thing and the next then we pick it up over a week later and again it goes in. This time we take it to South Sacramento CarMax it's been there almost a month and they can't give us an answer they gave us a Nissan loaner but yet we are paying for a Range Rover.
