We kept it simple and ordered two large cheese pizzas because we wanted to judge the place based on its core products. The crust was thin but held its structure, and still folded easily in your hand the way a good slice should. The one thing I noted (and basically how all overpriced pizza places are) was that there was no seasoning on the crust at all. We're big fans of Domino's garlic crust, so that was a little disappointing. The sauce had a nice flavor to it, but nothing particularly memorable. I'll be honest though. I can't say for certain how much of our enjoyment was the pizza itself versus the fact that we were starving at that point. You should've heard my mom's comments about "I feel like my stomach is eating itself" lol. My mom gave it 2/5 stars and my brother gave it 3/5, so somewhere in that range feels about right to me. It's also not cheap for what you get, so just keep that in mind going in. That said, if you're nearby and need a straightforward pizza fix, it'll do the job.

We found this place on Yelp while stopping in St. Augustine for one night and I was curious to try it. I love how it is part of a gas station and the "local" feeling that it has. However, the service is the reason of only two stars in my review. When we ordered, I asked about the cauliflower crust -if it was without gluten- and the waitress replied that she did not know. So I ordered a gluten-free crust -with the waitress saying "so you will be safe". (I did not tell her that I am not celiac, but I have gluten sensitivity- she did not ask, but the "to be safe" remark seemed to hint she was aware of gluten-related issues). I also ordered fried eggplants (no warning from the waitress, I assumed they were gluten-free too) and artichokes as toppings. When the pizza arrived (30 minutes after it was ordered), I ate a few bites and then -to be sure- I asked the waitress if the breadcrumbs had gluten. She said she did not know and went back to check. When she came back, she told me that the breadcrumbs had gluten. I pointed out that it wouldn't make a lot of sense to have gluten-free crust with gluten-rich breadcrumbs, but she replied that fried items usually have gluten (true, but so do pizzas) -essentially blaming the customer. She did not offer to prepare another pizza (she simply asked "can I bring you anything else?") or to take it off the check -I did not ask and simply paid (with no tip and with a written explanation). The overall result was just a minor nuisance for me, but it could have been much worse for those with serious gluten sensitivity. The regular pizza that my wife and son got was good, hence the extra star. read more
