I tried this place out for lunch and opted for 2 sides. I was really excited for the maduros, because they are one of my favorites. Between the okra and the eggplant, they both looked like they'd been sitting out for a long time and the okra looked dried out but the eggplant looked kinda congealed so I went with okra. I was so disappointed with the maduros - they were completely dry and flavorless, the opposite of what they should be. The okra was as dry as it looked and wasn't seasoned well. I personally find everything too salty but for the portion size and perfectly cooked chicken, can't go wrong with this spot. The owner however doesn't have the most friendliest attitude when confronted. They served my coworker pork that had gone bad their first week open and they gave her a difficult time when she addressed it. Owner also also charged me wrong multiple times and doesn't communicate the price she's charging in general, nor do they give receipts. But the food IS good and fresh. The space is clean. I use to enjoy ordering from here because the food is excellent but the owner is not. I ordered food on Saturday July 14 and the wrong food was sent to me I simply called and asked if the correct order and be re delivery and the owner(Carmen) tells me sure no problem. I waited for an hour and nobody ever came so I callled and she told me she's not the manager and dose not know how to give refunds so the manager will call me on Monday July 16th. I never got a call from anyone. I called back on Wednesday and was told the same thing by miss Carmen that I will receive a call in regards to my refund.
