The best Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs!! We got the shrimp ceviche, birria tacos and, fajitas. All so good and great portions! Their beans and rice are the best kind if you know what I mean. The service was also amazing! They had soy sauce on everyday table and we were so confused considering it is a Mexican restaurant so we asked why and they told us it was for a certain dish called chiles gueritos rell de camarón that was peppers with shrimp in them and ten minutes later they brought them out just for us to try and they were amazing and a must order. You put lemon soy sauce and mayo on top (don't diss it until you try it). This place should definitely be more packed than it was. 10/10 definitely recommend read more

Really great food, we have frequented El Mexicali and II but although the menu is similar the food just seemed so much better at Carmens. Nice new restaurant, so it was also very clean. The staff were amazing and checked on us frequently, they were all really friendly. Hubby ate the Colorado and I had the carnitas and both were excellent. Bring back victors tacos!!!! I came in to see victors famous tacos which are amazing. Come to find out it's no longer victors. I gave Carmen's a chance but their tacos are NOT victors tacos. We sat at the bar, had amazing service, we were there early, got a chance to talk to the family/long term servers. Told them it was our first time they complimented us an appetizer and soup. I don't know why there's so much buzz about this place on Nextdoor. In my opinion just average food and blended margarita. The service was meh. I opened the menu and the pages were covered in salsa. Lupe is the heart of this place! Warm greeting as she pushed tables together for our party of 6. We held off on ordering til our final 2 of our party showed up and Lupe surprised us with 4 small bowls of soup to sample while we waited! Delicious! She even let my husband order from the breakfast menu after the allowed time frame, saying don't worry about that! When she came by to check on our meals she asked my husband about his since he cleared half his plate but left his beef Colorado untouched. When he told her about the fatty pieces, she asked right away if he wanted something else like a carne asada burrito-- which he accepted to go. She handled the kitchen appropriately afterwards on quality control and replaced the beef breakfast plate with the burrito on our tab. She was excellent and hospitable, a pleasant surprise for us as this was our first time here. We will be adding this stopping place to our visit to LA whenever we journey down from AZ! Went to Carmen's Monday night. I am a disabled veteran from the Vietnam War with 3 tours. They refused to service me and my friends even after I provided the papers from the United States Government regarding my service dog and disability. I have eaten at your restaurant on many occasions - loved the food. The receptionist kept asking what services the service dog provided even after we provided the papers. She was very rude - unfortunately my wife told her she was an idiot for not understanding the letter from the government and asked the same questions several times. Sorry we called her an idiot but wasn't expecting to be treated that way - totally unacceptable. The manager also showed up and told us that he would not seat us since we called her an idiot. read more

I really enjoyed my breakfast experience at Carmen's. I ordered the Machaca con Huevos and it was absolutely delicious. Lupe, my server was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant was furnished nicely, and it was quiet and clean. This was my first experience at Carmen's, but it won't be my last. So many unique breakfast dishes that I'm eager to try. read more

this is our new favorite Mexican restaurant. the beans and rice are perfect. I've had the mole so delicious and some dark meat too my favorite. tonight we had the carnitas and chili verde both were so good. I recommend the table side guacamole, and order the skinny margarita and add triple sec. The servers are really great too. This is a family restaurant that has been in the desert since the early eighties, they definitely know what they're doing. read more

$10 torta w/ carne asada?! best we've found in the valley value and taste-wise. my wife had the asada burrito a la carte & she was happy too. Our difficult eater daughters had asada tacos and burrito from their kid's menu & they were pleased too.
