Being a restaurant attached to a hotel is always a hit or a miss and this was a HIT ! Thankful for staff for quickly setting us with 1 year old in the outdoor area . It is just the best on a March Sunday evening . Grateful for staff's accommodations as my cousin and I tackle the defeat of her 1 year old at the table . First we did we request mom and son eat first before auntie which they were gladly okay to help with the challenge . Mom had amazing things to say about her mocktail and salmon dish and 1 year old raved about the butter cheese pasta for kids meal. As for auntie the mezcal drink was everything and more the second one did feel stronger but much deserved delicious if you love mezcal it's everything you want and more . Started off with the tuna ceviche was everything a good portion for probably 2-3 but this 1 auntie was gladly to enjoy it all I would request for a non seasoning chip but it did add to the ceviche . The main course was the smash burger which delivered in all cooked to perfection cheesy goodness . I will say sitting in the scenery is everything on a March evening . Always room for dessert did end up taking it back to the room as it did get busier and after that second mezcal it was the better choice for me honestly . Another picture perfect day in the desert at the Hyatt in Indian Wells! The service was great and I enjoyed visiting with my two nephews. The six of us ordered exactly the same thing. We started with the tuna ceviche followed by the steak frites . The steaks were chard to perfection, seasoned well, and very tender and juicy. I'm glad to have joined my sister for her birthday. Located inside the Grand Hyatt at the back of the property right across Tia Carmen. Great drinks and great food! It's nice to have a couple options for dining inside this resort and I love the full bar and restaurant option. We grabbed drinks one night and sat by the fire pit right outside the back glass doors overlooking the course. It was so pretty! For another night we had dinner here with friends and family and everyone enjoyed the evening. We shared a bottle of wine, some cocktails, the deviled eggs with caviar, tuna ceviche, pomodore, katsu chicken, potatoes with spicy ketchup, and grilled salmon. Everything was tasty! We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and flavor for a hotel restaurant. The service has been really great throughout the property so the hostess and servers here were no exception. We recently stopped by Carmocha with a group of 4 for a birthday celebration. They don't take reservations, but we showed up around 6 PM and got seated almost right away. We tried the Burrata, Crispy Potatoes, Tuna Ceviche, Pasta Pomodoro, Grilled Norwegian Salmon, and a Bucket of Fried Chicken. For drinks, we ordered 2 Some Like It Hot and a Rebel Without a Cause. The tuna ceviche stood out the most. Super light and refreshing, and really the only thing I would come back for. The pasta and salmon were average, just kind of there. We had high hopes for the fried chicken and potatoes because they sounded so delicious on the menu, but both came out bland and left us wishing for even the tiniest bit of seasoning. The drinks didn't do much for anyone at the table; we tried a couple and there was no urge to order another round. Service was fine, nothing memorable. The vibe and setting are definitely the best part here. Carmocha works if you want a cool place with no wait for a table, but if you're coming for the food or drinks, maybe don't expect them to match the atmosphere. read more

We went here for dinner while we were staying at the Hyatt since it was one of the only sit down places opened on a Monday. Upon entering we were in passing told it was open seating as someone kinda of walked away as we found our seats. The waiter was slow to come around, walked away before completing the drink order, was hard to track down and slow to come back to grab the check. It was not terribly busy at that time so not sure if this is their norm or maybe general under staffed. The food was good, and we all really enjoyed our meals. We ordered the deviled eggs with caviar, fried chicken buckets, kids pasta, chicken Katsu and steak frites and all were really well prepared. I think if they had more staff and better trained it would really elevate the experience. The experience wasn't terrible but I think I expected a little better service wise. read more

Prompt server, food came out quickly, etc. Perhaps they've improved since the other reviews. Nicely decorated / great ambiance. We were only 2 people but plenty of large tables for big groups. We both had the vegan black bean burger. I appreciate a fully vegan option you don't need to alter. There were actually other vegan options (pasta pomodoro) including a dessert. We were so full from the burgers we didn't get more. The burger was really good. On a whole wheat bun, lettuce, tomato, grilled onion and vegan cheese that melted really well. I'm not sure which brand of vegan cheese, couldn't pin point it. Perhaps their own? I thought it was one of the better ones as some are not good and have odd textures. I don't think you'd know this was vegan cheese. Great flavor with the burger overall. It was a little messy, the burger could use more structure to hold together. So we ate with a fork and knife. Not the experience I was expecting from a restaurant inside a Grand Hyatt. Our waitress, an older Hispanic woman (unfortunately I didn't catch her name), was polite but service overall was noticeably slow. The deviled eggs were disappointing -- they barely tasted "eggy" and were paired with a strange salad that was basically just cilantro or parsley, which overwhelmed the dish. The burrata salad was heavily overpowered by sherry vinegar. We mentioned it to the waitress, but she didn't make any effort to address the issue, which was surprising given the hotel's upscale reputation. On the brighter side, the steak frites was actually very good, cooked well and nicely seasoned. However, dessert took an unusually long time to arrive, which only added to the sense of slow service. Overall, Carmocha had a couple of highlights but fell short of expectations for a Grand Hyatt dining experience. With sluggish service and dishes that missed the mark, it lands at a 3-star experience for me. read more

I was assuming (my fault) a breast, wing, thigh and leg. We got four thighs. The breading was typical, it was a soy sauce of some sort. That information would have been useful on the menu as my friend chicken loving kid would have passed. Hubby ordered chicken katsu. It was good. 24.oo for 4 pieces of chicken, 9.00 for fries and the katsu was 24. We're staying at the hotel. Terrible. Way overpriced, the rice was almost raw and so sticky you could lift the whole ball. Very small selection. To be almost the only restaurant available in the resort during the weekdays is a shame. Also for the first time in my life I had to send a pizza back. We asked for a pizza with no cheese. They brought a disk made of solid rock with some tomato sauce on top. When we sent it back they said their pizzas are pre made (aka they buy them frozen and overcharge them) and therefore someone had this great idea of improvising trying to accommodate our request. I would have much more appreciated an honest "sorry, we can't do that" rather than trying to serve something absolutely terrible. Only positive is they had the decency not to charge us for the pizza and the fruit bowl. read more

I've had nothing but incredible experiences at this restaurant! The bartenders are always so sweet and make sure you're well attended to, regardless of how busy they get! The atmosphere can range from busy and loud to mellow and chill - it really depends on if the hotel has a large group in house or not. One thing is for sure, the food is amazing. Terrible manager on duty at this restaurant. 1 star bar & restaurant and 1 star service toward well paying patrons. This hotel & restaurant claims to be dog friendly but the manager on duty came to us as we were sitting OUTSIDE the restaurant and RUDELY told us to remove our dog from the bench we were sitting on. We spent thousands of dollars at this resort and paid a high pet fee and this is how we were treated? Don't bring your well-behaved, beloved pet because they are not welcome in the lobby of the hotel near the restaurants. We stayed here at the hotel for my daughter's birthday and we were looking for some noodles so we walked over to Carmocha. The ambiance is beautiful, very aesthetic. However, the service we experienced was terrible. From the moment we walked in the staff gave out unwelcoming vibes. No smiles when greeted. When ordering, the server was very serious and slightly rude when answering questions about the food on the menu. We received our food and I realized I did not have a fork and we needed an extra plate for my toddler as we were sharing our food and our server was no where to be found. We had to ask another server for what we needed. Close to finishing our food, our server finally checks in not knowing that I would've waited that long just for a fork, an extra plate, and more water that the other server provided for us as well since he noticed we were low. I never like bothering other servers as they are waiting on other tables but I'm glad I did in this case. The noodles themselves, I have no complaints. They were delicious 10/10. read more

This is a nice hotel but I would likely not come back since the restaurant was a poor experience. Service was OK, not great. Started with burrata and tomatoes which was actually in a pool of vinegar. Could not eat it. My wife had fish and chips (chips were not cooked fully and way over salted) and fish was under seasoned but otherwise OK. I had salmon on a bed of couscous salad which was also drowned in vinegar (looked like soup). Could not eat it, they took the plates without inquiry as to why they were not eaten (to be fair the salmon was nicely seasoned and cooked well). Left really disappointed for what is supposed to be a higher end hotel. Who the executive chef is doesn't matter unless they are there cooking. Also to be fair had a nice breakfast there, the service and food were great. Will not go back for dinner though. read more

I would pay attention to the reviews about wait times! We arrived at 530 and it wasn't busy. Took 20 minutes to get waters and be acknowledged at all. We put in our kids food and an app right away as other tables were getting seated. It took 40 minutes from order time to receive the food. At that point we had been there an hour. I flagged down the manager to let him know and he said he would bring fries for the kids to eat while they waited, which he never did. And rather than supporting his staff, he strolled around and picked up a few napkins and organized the silverware. The food was actually really good, but I don't know what is going on here. I think they share a kitchen with Tia Carmen, but after being open for a few months now you'd think they'd have it figured out. Don't come hungry and expect to spend a lot of time waiting. read more

I ordered the Mediterranean salad thinking it would be a simple salad, but no it was not a simple salad. The freshness and the flavor pallet! Fresh dill, aerated feta(which I've never had) tons of fresh tomatoes! My husband got the chicken gyro and it was loaded with marinated chicken and a delicious sauce. Service was fantastic! My wife got the salmon and it was raw. Once that happened, I think the server decided we weren't going to tip well and just stopped providing any service. The food was OK, but the service was poor (as we also found the service at Tia Carmen, which is in the same hotel right nextdoor). We waited about a half hour for desert and then when they brought it, they didn't bring silverware. There was just a lack of consideration and care for patrons. read more

We stayed at the Hyatt and low expectations in our FIRST visit there. Sometimes hotel restaurants aren't great. The food and service were so good we went back a second time. Drinks were delicious. Deviled eggs were our favorite. Salmon was cooked perfectly, braised short ribs with mashed potatoes sooo damn decadent. The burger and fries were as good as any burger and fries in the world.
