These really are some of the best carnitas I've had from a restaurant!! They're super soft and juicy in the most perfect way!!! It's not super expensive and you get so much meat! I love that they ask you if you want mixed meat or just just carnitas. Personally I don't like buche, so I always just get the carnitas!! Got so many people hooked on these carnitas!!! After I saw David Chang's view on Barbacoa in South Philly (Ugly Delicious on Netflix), I knew I had to find it or maybe something like it. Looking at the cooking methods I thought it looked a lot like carnitas. So I found this place in Vallejo. Not familiar with the style, I tried a simple Carnitas Mixta burrito. BOOM. Was fantastic. The pork shoulder (or whatever muscle they're using) was slightly crispy but way juicy full of seasoned pork goodness. Mixed in was some cueritas (skin) and buche (stomach) that really brought the porky, textured yumness. The burrito kept very simple with a bit of seasoned rice and some refried beans. Not a lot so the meat can be the scene. Salsas offered looked and tasted very fresh. The space is clean and modest, the staffer at the counter polite and courteous as we stumbled our way thru communications. My spanish, uno poquito. His english, same. Worst service they have, they don't have enough staff, to attend all your orders, they take more than 1/2 hour to make your order if they have a few people before you. The only taqueria or restaurant that doesn't give you salsa, although if you buy by the pound, they sell you onion, cilantro, and salsa. If you eat there the tables are dirty and not cleaned. If you're not Latino don't bother. I was in the restaurant with two other Latino customers. Once it was my turn to order the customer service I received was different from the other customers before me. More like discrimination because I am African-American. I asked for some salsa to go with my food and was immediately told to pay for the salsa but all I wanted was the small salsa cups that usually come with your order, I asked the guy who took my order if I could just get the salsa that comes with the order I said "you don't have the small salsa cups?" he said no when I saw them in the refrigerator I then instead walked out without salsa. I've driven pass this place many time and finally got a chance to check them out today. My boyfriend and I have been craving refried beans and rice so we decided to give this place a try. To our surprise it was a nice , clean restaurant, quick, and easy service. We both got the combo #3 which comes with 1/2 pound of carnitas, 6 corn tortillas, 6oz of rice, 6oz of beans, and a beverage all for $10. The flavors did not disappoint, we really enjoyed the rice and beans and our craving has been fulfilled, plus the carnitas were not greasy and it was quite flavorful. They did also pack a pretty good amount. The only thing I would want is a slightly bigger beans and rice, instead of it being the 6oz they should make it with the 8oz, other than that it was pretty satisfying and worth the $10. Quantity here is good. Quality not so much. I ordered a carnitas quesadilla and carnitas taco. Meat was dry and packed much flavor. Not that tender either. The taco had no included toppings. No sour cream. No cheese. No lime etc. I did ask for some containers for the salsa bar after looking at the food. Quesadilla was better in terms of flavor as it did at least have cheese. Ordering these two items was difficult and frustrating via phone as the man on the other end had a lot of trouble understanding so there was a lot of repeating and correcting going on. Man... I hate to leave a bad review when I'm all about supporting small businesses BUT I hope that this is taken more as a little advice, maybe? I liked their pickled jalapeños. That was probably the best thing. I also like how they are not shady on the meat BUT neither of the meats tasted good. I'm not sure if this place is just too busy for my liking but a phone order for 3 bean, cheese, and rice burritos has taken exactly 48 mins. On the phone they said 20 mins. I got there to pick up lunch 33 mins after I called it in. For some reason it feels like they don't start making your order until you pay for it? Why even take a phone order then?? Been living in the Bay Area for 30 years & eating burritos just as long - never has 3 simple burritos taken so long. Bummer. Burrito was middle of the road, rice was on the hard side. This place looks better from the outside. Upon entering noticed dirty dining room. Most of the tables had food left out on them from prior patrons. It seems like they need to hire some more help. While it seemed busy (with to go orders) the phone was ringing off the hook but I noticed the cashier would be disappearing a lot into the back l. I think the cook was often requiring her help to keep up with orders. I waited over 20 minutes for my super burrito which ultimately landed in disappointment. I ordered chicken but I think they gave me finely chopped up grill scraps of various meats. The super burrito had a lot of rice and beans and one small cut of avocado. The meat was so finely chopped I could not locate it as it was disguised in the overwhelming portions of beans. The beans were not fresh and one of my bites contained a hard bone that injured my tooth. I don't think I will return here. The salsa seemed pretty good but I was so disgusted after chewing the hard item in the burrito. There the second half of the burrito in the trash. read more

It was my first time their n it was my bf second time their n I saw the lady that works their saying something to the guy that works their n the guy made it so obvious that they where talking about us n kept staring at us. I moved and he popped his head out to see where I went, It made me feel very uncomfortable and I did not feel welcome either, they don't bother to say welcome In or how you doin. Also they didn't give us our drink, and when we asked for it the lady said what drink but she said it with attitude. I was delighted to find out that the carnitas served here are both flavorful and juicy yet with the right amount of crisp. I wanted to get a good feel for what they had to offer so that I know what I would purchase again if I were to choose to come back. I ordered the super burrito, two tacos (asked to add sour cream and cheese) and a carnitas quesadilla. The quesadilla was yummy but a bit greasy. Definitely a great go to for a hangover. The super burrito was a bit dry for me. I even asked for extra sour cream and cheese. The rice had tons of flavor though and the beans were good. The star of the show though were definitely my tacos. They give you a generous amount of cilantro, onions, salads and limes in the side to dress your tacos up. I devoured my two and was sad when I was done. I only took a few bits of the burrito and quesadilla. As I'm sitting here writing and fantasizing about the tacos I'm thinking about giving my boyfriend the rest of the burrito and quesadilla and heading back for MORE TACOS! read more

I had passed through there several times in my 9 years that I live in Vallejo, and it was because of a friend's comment that I decided to arrive but, upon entering the place there were about 10 to 12 people (3-4 were waiting for orders already paid) the rest online to order ... and in a place of this type you expect to find 2 or 3 people behind the counter (1 cashier, and another 2 to give movement and rotation to the orders in progress ... but here THAT COMMERCIAL LOGIC DOES NOT APPLY ... there was 1 girl (one) acting as CASHIER (I thought her partner (s) were giving help back in other functions, but it was not like that ... OBSERVE THAT SHE WAS THE MAIN CASHIER IN DUTIES, took the order, passed it (MANUALLY TO THE KITCHEN), they were 2-3 in what we will call "KITCHEN OR PREPARATION AREA" and from there a voice was heard that announced "2 pounds of MIXED CARNITAS", she (cashier) takes the "CONTAINER" set in the scale and says "2 POUNDS MIXED lists order # 35" ... a man comes up and asks for his drinks and she (cashie r) She serves them, hands them over and turns around and asks "NEXT?" ... the same scene was repeated 8-9 times until I was in front of her (CASHIER) after 10-15 minutes ... I am honest, because of the expectations for the comments previously heard I sincerely believed that these CARNITAS would give me total satisfaction, but I have to be aware and say that they ARE NOT "THE BEST CARNITAS IN VALLEJO" ... there are better options in the area such as "LA TAPATÍA", "ROSA MARKET" , "VARGAS MARKET", even the CARNITAS in "CARDENAS MARKET" taste better. To this place, I honestly do not understand how they assign 5 STARS (five) when just for the "DEPRIMENT CUSTOMER SERVICE" would have to remove 2-3 STARS and another for the taste of what they boast in the EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR CUPBOARDS (THE BEST CARNITAS IN TOWN?) That qualifier is much too big for them. I have to mention that at the time of taking my order, I asked the girl (cashier) 1-2 extra sauces, and she told me that EACH ONE WOULD HAVE AN EXTRA COST OF $ 1.45 EACH ... and she created what if you originate a purchase of $ 45.00 + TAX , you could receive 1-2 1 1/2 OZ sauces which I don't think HAVE A COST OF $ 2.90. Just moved to Vallejo a year ago and have been everywhere trying to find good carnitas. Finally found this spot recently and have already been twice. I love that they offer mixed carnitas, and their salsas are frickin bomb. Fair prices, so I can feed the whole family without breaking my wallet. So glad this place exists!! Do not eat here. In the bathroom while writing this. I downloaded this app to solely tell people not to go here. They rudely laughed at us when we didn't know how to speak Spanish. I asked them a simple question if they sold Birria tacos and they did not take us seriously. My friend took Spanish in high school so we were able to order an alternative. We got the food and it was very disappointing and 7 hours in after eating the beef tacos, I'm having bad diarrhea. I do not have a weak stomach but this is a all time low. read more
