    Crossiant sandwich special

Is literally the best breakfast food. They know what they're doing when it comes to breakfast. Yes there's a long wait. They're amazing. Of course there's a wait. Can't compare this place to anywhere else. From service, to ambiance, to the taste of the coffee. They're doing such an amazing job!

Mediterranean omelet split into 2. Cinnamon roll pancakes and onion rings

My husband and I were looking for a good brunch spot.. we came across Carolyn's on Yelp.. after seeing all the great reviews it had.. we had to give it a try. Upon ariving, we learnt that there was a 30 min wait for a table for 2 on a Monday morning. Don't let the wait discourage you. Trust me, it's worth the wait. The food here is AMAZING! The portions are nice and big, definitely shareable, but you're going to want to order plenty. I got the Mediterranean omelet.. this dish was so flavorful, the garlic stands out. My husband order the cinnamon roll pancakes.. I don't even like pancakes.. but I couldn't get enough of these fluffy, yet crispy and so so flavorful pancakes. We also ordered a side of onion rings. Which were so delicious, crispy and tender in the inside! Now last, but not least the coffee cake.. you have to try these.. they are the star of the show. So delicious. They are topped off with butter which just melts into the cake.. perfect for dessert or even to have with your coffee. Food was impeccable, but so was the customer service. Everyone there was kind, accommodating and friendly. Our lovely waitress was Claudia.. she was the sweetest.. she gave us great recommendations, made sure we were well taken cared of.. and was just amazing! The ambience reminds me of an old school diner.. so special and homey!

French dip with fries & aus juice. You HAVE to try it once at least!!!! Great job Carolyn's Cafe.

This review is a continuation from my others. Well I gotta say THANK YOU KEITH! The French dip and au jus melted in my mouth and I'm craving more. You're back to being my number one!! The ambiance is awesome as well. You'll love Carolyn's cafe.

It has been several years since my previous visit because it is a 40 minute drive for me to get here, but I can honestly say it is so WORTH the drive! I absolutely love coffee cake and I came specifically for that, but what a surprise when the rest of my breakfast was delicious! My husband who was not a fan of the drive said he'd make the drive again for the breakfast.

    California eggs Benedict with fruit

This is a very popular breakfast place and rightfully so. The food was good and the service was friendly! We thought we might miss the crowd by going 10:30am on a Monday but nope, It's definitely busy all the time. The *California Eggs Benedict was delicious! I loved the green salsa instead of the hollandaise. I got it with the coffee cake and the fruit. Just like everyone says the coffee cake is really good. It's moist and very sweet. It was way too much butter for my taste. It really doesn't need it. The fruit fresh and sweet. Yumm!! My mom got the *Little Combo with scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits with gravy. It was a lot of food for a little combo and she said it was all very tasty. I liked the gravy I tasted. All this with coffee & tip was $44. I recommend this spot for a good breakfast if you're in the area!

I love this place... the food,.... & of course the coffee cake... especially the employees... they are so friendly, and very efficient... they are on it.... They get you in... accommodate your every need... and are ready for the next customer before you exit the door.... All with a smile on their face...

    Home Style Corned Beef Hash
    Cory G.

Eggs were wildly inconsistent across the table. I ordered over medium and received undercooked eggs with visible albumin. My son's over medium eggs came out fully cooked through, while my mother's were actually prepared correctly. The hash looked promising at first, but once the few larger pieces of corned beef were picked out, it was almost entirely potato. Overall, it leaned heavily toward overcooked, mashed potatoes with very little actual corned beef and lacked proper crisp. Toast wasn't toasted--just loaded with an excessive amount of butter. Drew, our server, was super personable and attentive and easily the highlight of the visit.

This place was much bigger inside than I expected without feeling crowded. There is also a few outdoor tables too. Even though it was busy, there were plenty of staff members and everyone was friendly. The wait looked intimidating at first, we had about 30 groups ahead of us. We ended up waiting around an hour, which was pretty fast considering how packed it was. The food was great overall. My only complaint was the country potatoes. They didn't taste much different from the hash browns. I was expecting diced potatoes with a little more seasoning, so they were a bit underwhelming. For their famous coffee cake, it was absolutely delicious! It was definitely on the sweeter side, but I would honestly come back just for a slice. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable for how much food you get. At the end of the day, it's breakfast food. I thought it was a step above places like IHOP or Denny's and I'd come back again

Hidden gem, friends found this spot and there was a wait, but not long. Staff pleasant and very kind. Best item is the warm coffee cake was satisfying with a cup of coffee.

Another great breakfast with Mom at Carolyn's! Always delicious with generous portions. The weather was fine, so we chose to sit outside this time where it was a bit quieter and had immediate seating. One thing that can make or break when choosing to sit outside is the service. You won't be forgotten here! Big shout-out to Drew for keeping timely tabs on us and for his all around great personality.

This restaurant is so amazing. The staff are friendly, the environment is clean, the place is packed 100% of the time, and well worth the wait. Large portions of food and served well. Must try the coffee cake!

2.22.26- California Scrambler served with Turkey Bacon

‍ EVERY single time we come here to visit, today was a special one too to honor my father in law turning 78 years young. Lacey was our amazing server who was incredibly attentive and giving suggestions on what her favs are. Food leaves me speechless. A must try if you're coming for the first time, 10th time, the coffee cake is something my baking heart wishes I could just observe how they make it and carry it to the grave and the way that melted butter just soaks into the cake, just perfect. Tried to keep it balanced by going a little healthier today and ate the California omelet with turkey bacon, with country potatoes that was seasoned well. The table went silent as we all welcomed our plates placed in front of us and gasped in awe of how fast our food came. You gotta come early if you don't wanna wait but post 10 am and guarantee a 40-50 min wait depending on your party, which we had 6 total. Inside it's cozy, reminds you of home, and the smell and sizzle of butter just fills your nostrils up. There's no place I'd rather pick if we want a great brunch spot where they'll make you feel like family every time. Much love always

Carolyn's Famous Coffee Cake I started eating it before I took a pic and tried to get a good side!

We came back to Carolyn's Café on Christmas Eve for a family breakfast, and once again, it was absolutely wonderful. They're featuring a new fall menu, and the birria omelet is hands down to die for. It was so good that when Jan, the owner, stopped by our table to chat and ask how everything was, I told her she had to keep it on the menu. To my surprise (and excitement!), she said it's actually being added permanently! That personal touch meant so much--Jan taking the time to talk with us really shows how much care goes into this place. We planned to share the omelet, and when we mentioned that, they thoughtfully split it into two perfectly plated meals. Honestly, it looked like (and was) a full meal on its own, so generous that I thought I was going to split that portion but ended up with my own plate instead of sharing with my husband. The kids' bunny chocolate chip pancakes were such a fun and thoughtful touch, and of course, the coffee cake is still to die for, as always. Another well-deserved five stars for Carolyn's Café, amazing food, generous portions, warm service, and exciting new menu updates. We'll definitely be back!

What is the size of the special order coffee cake for Thanksgiving?

9x13 pan - feeds up to 12 people and includes whipped butter.

Is there a way to order food cooked without using seed oils? Thank you for answering .?

Yes, we can offer limited menu options cooked in butter instead of seed oils - you just need to be sure to clarify with the person taking your order.

Hello! Is this lovely establishment open on Labor Day?

    Yes - open regular hours - 7am-1pm

Will you be open thanksgiving morning?

Carolyns Cafe will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Family member has nut allergy. Does your coffee cake contain nuts?

Although the coffee cake itself does not contain any nuts, 2 of the ingredients come from a supplier that processes nuts at the same facility. So, even though we would love your whole family to enjoy our delicious coffee cake, it might be best for…

Are any of the gluten-free items available vegan? French toast, pancakes... anything?

They have gluten free coffee cake

If I dine outside, may I bring my dog?

I have seen a dog outside while his parents dined so I think it is ok as long as it is well behaved & doesn't bark at customers.

Will you be open on Easter Sunday this year for dine-in?

Carolyns Care will be closed on Easter Sunday.

    Can we make reservations?

Are you open on Labor Day?

    Yes - 7am-1pm

Are you guys planning to expand your hours soon? 1pm is too soon ...

We are not planning on expanding our hours anytime soon. Minimum wage is now $14.00 per hour and will be increasing again next year. It makes it too expensive for us to stay open longer.

Our waitress has on break, but this was communicated well and rhe other staff stepped in until she returned. We got a mix of drinks and food and loved every sip and bite. I will say the serving sizes are not what I'm used to for a Mexican restaurant but not tiny, around 2 to 3 tacos per plate. I got the birra tacos and I do wish they would have had a side but it wasn't a huge issue. Now the music for the elephant in the room. It was very loud in the small space. I would say club level, which is a lot for a dining experience. It didn't take away too much, just made talking hard. Another summer specific thing to point out, it is not the standard California A/c situation. We were in not way dying of heat, but it was warm. The day's temperature was around 102° so that of course was taken into account. If you have a group of friends that need some yummy food, this is your spot. Definitely a fun spot for a fancy cocktail--or, in my case, a mocktail. I ordered the Hibiscus Cooler and LOVED it. The food was more of a mixed bag. I ordered the Poblano Burger, and the deep-fried poblano was SO good. Unfortunately, I ordered the patty medium and it came out overcooked. The fries were also a little undercooked, and the burger could have used more sauce. Tasty overall, just not quite hitting the mark. Then came dessert... and this is where the experience really went downhill. I ordered the crème brûlée because I've had it elsewhere and had been craving it. While waiting, I stepped away to use the restroom. When I came back, my entire table--including my drinks--had been cleared. I had literally just ordered dessert and never indicated I was finished. The server seemed confused when I questioned it, which made the whole thing even more awkward. And unfortunately, the crème brûlée itself was also a miss. The sugar topping was torched too long and had a noticeably bitter, burnt flavor. The server (and possibly a manager) apologized, and I was given $2 off the drink, which I appreciated. Between the okay food and the especially strange service and lack of communication the experience left me disappointed. The atmosphere is definitely the highlight, but for me, the service experience was enough to say I probably won't be back anytime soon.

We finally made it to Copehouse Bar & Bistro after living in SoCal for some time. It was Memorial…read moreDay weekend, and we decided to try local spots. We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

It's a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends or family. The focal point of the main dining room is the bar, which faces the restaurant's entrance. Meticulously designed with a nostalgic feel, the bar features blonde wood shelves holding hundreds of vinyl records, carefully curated design objects, and a DJ booth neatly tucked into a corner next to the bar. The beer taps are elegantly minimalist, and every detail in the bar--for example, the old-fashioned glass syrup bottles--seems planned to give a nod to history (specifically the late 19th century, when Redlands was founded). The main dining room offers plenty of comfortable seating choices, including a long bar along the center of the room. The patio is spacious and well kept. All of the spaces inside and out have music piped in from the bar. There are two restrooms just off the patio, and these are well-maintained. On busy nights, patrons can enjoy a drink in a standing bar area just off the patio. I love that the Overland provides a choice of setting depending on the kind of night you're planning. A romantic date? Get a reservation to sit inside, and it feels intimate. Just hanging out? The bar is fun as the mixologists make excellent drinks and friendly conversation. Sitting at the bar after 7 PM, you can watch the DJs spin the platters. If you have a larger group or just like to eat alfresco, the patio is perfect. The menu offers a really nice variety of drinks, including the pricier craft cocktails, more classic, moderately priced beverages, nonalcoholic drinks, and all sorts of beer and wine. The food menu is solid, with plenty of appetizers, salads, entrées, and a dessert. The real star is the tacos! These are very moderately priced at seven dollars apiece, and all three varieties are delicious! There is a potato taco, a beef taco, and pork chili Verde taco. I highly recommend these! The green salsa they provide is extremely mild, but they do have a variety of hot sauces on hand. It's worth mentioning that even a humble plate of tacos is served on nice ceramic dishes, along with good flatware and napkins. The espresso martini cheesecake is creamy and delicious, and the portion is really generous. The staff seem to enjoy working at the Overland. The servers work hard to make sure your order is to your liking, and food comes out pretty fast. There's a good sense of teamwork among them. The staff is also accommodating about seating or any special requests. We've been there on a busy Friday night, and on a Sunday evening and late night. The Overland is always at least moderately busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. The city of Redlands should be very proud of this establishment. Go and have fun!

There was only seating at the bar or outside (hot af outside). The only downside I think was a lot of their drinks are pre-made/on tap. So requesting anything outside of their fixed menu is not recommended. At least that's what the bartender told me directly - bummer.

We had an IPA that was ok, but not really what we wanted. Food was good, but we ordered an appetizer but came out with our sandwich as extra, so no fries and a full appetizer. The bartender was nice, as that is where we sat. She was the only one behind the bar and when the restaurant filled up she was more focused on getting drinks for them instead of the people sitting at the bar top. Also, the 4 TV's they have we think should be on different channels. Just a suggestion. One more thing your parking lot is awful for the size of your place, especially handicap. I will let everyone I know food was good and hopefully we will come back.

Every time we visit, something new happens to make us feel incredibly welcomed, taking our experience to the next level.Yesterday, our server, Avery, recommended the wings, and OMG--the flavors were absolutely phenomenal. Avery was beyond attentive, incredibly personable, and provided the absolute best customer service. My husband and I enjoyed talking with him so much, he honestly could have sat down and joined our conversation! Since it was Buffalo Trace Thursday, I asked Avery if the bartender could make me an off-menu "Cowboy Spritz." I explained the ingredients (which features Buffalo Trace bourbon), and he didn't hesitate to make it happen. The bartender, Eileen, made the absolute best rendition of a Cowboy Spritz I've ever had--exceedingly better than expected, completely delicious, and so refreshing. I really hope Eureka! considers adding it as a permanent specialty drink on their menu because it was incredible! As always, my husband and I will continue coming back to Eureka! for the great historical vibes, welcoming ambiance, and the wonderful, friendly staff.
