Lying to customers is not good business. We have purchased two cars from Carr Subaru in Beverton. My wife has taken her car there for all it's maintenance and check ups. I have come to suspect that she was being oversold on service she didn't need. We recently took her car in the have the studded tires put on for the winter season. She bought the tires and rims from Carr with the understanding that they will install them annually at no cost if they are mounted on rims and purchased from Carr. However, they didn't say they would only do that a few years before they tell you the tires are expired, despite being in excellent condition with good tread and studs. We are retired so the car is driven used very little, especially in winter. When I questioned their tire staff about their refusal to install the tires they said it was not their decision but rather it was a federal law that limited the life of the tires, despite the minor amount of wear on the tires. I took the car and tires to Les Schwab tires and they said the tires are fine and that there is no such federal law limiting the life of a tire. It seems Carr Subaru just wants to force its loyal customers into buying unnecessary new snow tires or they want to avoid honoring their promise to rotate the tires annually at no service charge. And, they are fine with lying about it. As a longtime customer I no longer do business with a company who makes a policy out of lying. read more

Our 2007 Outback with over 200,000 miles finally died. We needed a new Subaru to love and made an appointment for the next day with Carr Subaru. We were introduced to the manager who introduced our Sales Person Riley Lidel. He was extremely friendly and listened to our needs, especially about being a dog family. Cars have changed alot from 2007. Riley explained the new technology and answered all our questions. If he didn't know an answer he quickly found out. The process of buying the 2021 Forester was easier than expected. It still took some time. Our options for add ons and financing were explained to us by Riley and the finance manager. Neither gave us the hardshell for anything. We would have left if that was the case. Everything was clean and sanitized per Covid protocols. After being screamed at and bullied into a contract on a car I didn't want two blocks away at Damerow Ford I was given the personal contact info of Joshua, the sales manager, and GM when I went to retrieve my trade in that Damerow then stole and hid inside their building. After involving the police to get my car back, I went back over to Carr and they offered me a STUNNING deal on a 2015 stacked Impreza. Every staff member was respectful, had my best interests in mind, treated me like an equal (females can buy cars alone, too!) and I now have a great service shop as well as car family. My wife and I were looking to lease 2018 Subaru Outback 3.6 Touring package for 36 months, 12K miles with $1,000 down payment. Beaverton Carr Subaru was one of the dealerships we were considering to lease from. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted by Roman (the salesman). Just few minutes into the conversation we felt very negative vibe coming from Roman due to harsh unnecessary sarcasm. After poor customer service, dishonest quotes, and personal insults, we have decided to leave the Carr Subaru for good! We ended up leasing same vehicle with identical terms for almost $200 less from Capitol Subaru of Salem. Tried to get a service done (simple oil change and differential fluid change) through the express service. This is a 45 minute job. Was told I can't do express so I had to make an appointment. Made an appointment, dropped my car off before the appointment time (dropped off at 8, appt was at 8:30). Was told it would be done before lunch. Heard nothing. No updates saying they'd be late. Finally stopped by at 2:30 asking what's going on. ***They hadn't even started yet***. Common courtesy would be to call the customer and let them know they're blowing the timeline originally given. Service manager thought it would make me feel better that I'm one of many people who are late - when in fact they're just telling me it's happening to everyone and it's a problem across the board. If you want the privilege of waiting all day for a 45 minute service by all means use them. But if you want someone who values your time look elsewhere. read more

I brought my Outback here because it had a leak -- water was leaking through the driver's side door, running down the inside of the door frame and dripping slowly onto the carpet below. The carpet was damp in front of the driver's seat when I brought it in. When I picked it up, the leak had been fixed, but they literally flooded my car in the process. The carpets were sopping and there was like three inches of standing water underneath the driver's seat. My son and I were late getting out of there because we had to wait so long for the guy to bring us the car, as he could not see with all the windows completely soaked on the inside so bad the defrost would not clear it. I wiped the windows down before we left but it was still a dangerous drive. When I called about it they explained that they have to use a pressurized water "test" to make the repair and "clear out the drains," whatever that means, and the manager recommended I bring the car back in so he can "work with me" on a price to repair the damage they had caused. No thanks. But what a nightmare removing the seat to bail out the well of water underneath and take the car all apart so I could uplift the carpet and the THICK and super absorbent carpet pad to soak it all up and then run space heaters in there overnight to dry it all out -- and it still smells like wet diapers in my car now. Thoroughly impressed by my service experience at Carr Subaru. Came here because they were the cheapest in the metro area for a particular service that I needed to have done, and the experience was very pleasant from start to finish. They immediately attended to me, got me a very nice loaner vehicle, and off I went back home for the day. My car was done by the end of the day but I decided to pick it up the following day. Took my 2013 BRZ in for an Oil Change. I was advised that I needed a new cabin air filter. The service advisor told me the filter change would be $100 ($20 more than the synthetic oil change). I declined the service, ordered an aftermarket filter on Amazon for $11 (the OEM Subaru is $18 online). It took me 3 minutes to change it out with no tools required. When I replaced it I saw that my current filter was shoved back in carelessly after inspection, collapsing it, providing no filtration. I have no problem with a service department making a profit but $82+ for a 3 minute job is predatory. If they had offered it at $35 to $40, I would have purchased it. I used to be a patron to another Subaru dealership in town, that was recently bought out by a larger company. Since then, the service has become hasty (more mistakes) and impersonal. Because of this, I decided to give Carr Subaru a try. I went in for a brake job, timing belt replacement, and some other miscellaneous work. The price seemed high, but they were able to explain every part of it when I inquired and it all made sense. I'm sure it wouldn't be any lower at the other place. I asked them to call me if they find anything else, before they work on any more. They said "of course", which implied that's their norm. As expected (it had been a while since I gave my car some love), they called me with more work that they noticed should be done. It was almost twice as much of an estimate. Eric was my service manager, and he explained everything in great detail, and why it needed replaced. He also explained how important it was to replace, and the urgency of each item. It all made sense, so I said to go ahead. They were already in there anyway, which meant no extra labor costs. I think he could sense how much money that was to me, and did his best to make things work. I was pleased when I went to pay and was given the final cost, because it was significantly less than before. I did not feel ripped off at all. I believe my car needed these things. Eric even fulfilled my strange request to keep the caliper that was replaced. He pulled it out of the trash for me! He showed me what was wrong, and I could see that it was bad. Salt from the prior state that I lived in had corroded a bolt so much that it snapped. When examined at home, it was determined that they did try to remove the bolt, but couldn't. It was so rusted in there, and it was stuck. I believe that is why he recommended the caliper be replaced, rather than just the bolt. Plus, the caliper was all rusty from the salt damage too. I vaguely remember him discussing all of this over the phone that afternoon, but it was a lot and I don't remember every detail. It's possible the bolt could have been removed by soaking overnight, but I also needed the work done that day and to get my car back. I'm also unsure of how the loaner vehicle would have worked and any other potential labor costs. I think I made the best choice possible, especially given my own time-constraint. They were good about giving me a loaner vehicle, which I was really happy about, especially due to all of the work that I was getting done. It was fun to drive a 2019 Outback for a day too. I was a little concerned, since when I made the appointment, the woman I spoke to said she would reserve one for me. He had to check, and there was only car that was available. It needed to be washed, but they did that immediately. It was complete and ready for me to inspect, once all of the paperwork was finished. They also gave me a complimentary external wash on my car, and it looked amazing when they returned the car to me. My car drives a whole lot better now. Thank you, Carr Subaru! And especially Eric. I bought my 2019 Subaru crosstrek from these guys, it went rather smooth. 2 years later, I am still getting my oil changed from them and I fully regret ever spending a damn dime here. I got my oil changed 9/17/20 and come to find out they did NOT fill any of my fluids. You've got to be kidding me now, coolant levels were below the "low" line and I have 0 washer fluid. I noticed this while changing out my own air filters because there were going to "charge me $120" to replace them. Absolute bullshit. You have lost my business nor will I refer this location to literally anyone. I don't pay the extra money to be taken advantage of like they exactly did. read more

We forewent purchasing a new car from our local dealership and instead purchased a 2018 Subaru Outback at Carr Subaru's Sunday Labor Day Sales Event. The customer service was absolutely excellent from our salesperson Ali, and his manager Miguel. Everyone, even employee's who were not working with us directly, was friendly, smiling, and very accommodating. Ali helped us make the 200mi roundtrip very worthwhile and was super knowledgeable without being a total know it all. There was no pressure and no hoops to jump through. Because of the sales event, the lot was bursting with inventory and very little parking to be had and because of the holiday, the Service Department was closed. We also waited about an hour on the finance department who had our information 72 hours in advance. I would have liked to not have had to gas up my own new vehicle and put air in the tires myself- but it was a small price to pay for outstanding sales department service. Thank you, Ali! read more

However, because the car was so new, the paperwork hadn't gone through yet, and the customer service person (at the warranty company) couldn't find my paper work. But she called her manager, Josh, and instead of having me go through the hassle of probably multiple calls, they sent a person out to repair it at no cost to me. This is after I bought the car. All the other dealers I spoke to were able to provide the information right away without any difficulties. But not Carr's. They needed first to know my full name, phone number, if I can come in today and buy the car right away (even though none is available. All the other dealerships were honest about not having the car we were looking for until next month). I took my car in for a body repair after accidentally scratching/denting the side of my car. Based on reviews, it was a lot of back-and-forth between Carr Auto and another shop, but I ultimately chose this one because of location and being the partnership for the dealer itself. I have to give kudos to Scott Kemp and his team for giving me a lower-than-expected, reasonable price (after negotiations with my insurance company's claim agent), and repainting/de-denting my car to look brand new! Also, I am pretty they shook the weather mats in my car and wiped the screen of my media screen because I swore it looked cleaner than when I gave to them, and the side mirrors were cleared of their rainwater spots, so a huge thank you to them! I had a very positive experience dealing with Joe. I hadn't planned on purchasing the first day I visited the Carr dealership but the process was made as easy as possible for me. I asked if I could fill in the paperwork the following day as I hadn't had dinner and I was starving so they ordered in food for me. I realize it was in their interest to close the sale but I was still very impressed with their customer service. When finished with the paperwork I was tired and wanted to go home so Joe set time aside to go through the car's features with me the next day and also allowed me clear out the car I was trading but hadn't expected to trade that evening the following day. Unfortunately after owning the car for less than 72 hours some idiot scratched and slightly dented the side of the car in a parking lot so hopefully I will be as pleased with Carl's service department. Luckily the car was there when we arrived. Joshua took us on a long test drive to show us all the features.
