Really good stromboli. We tried both an original stromboli and a chicken stromboli. My friend is a ranch addict, and I have to say, based on his suggestion, the chicken stomboli dipped in ranch was the highlight of the meal. It was a weeknight and not too crowded, so service was really good. They had a small beer and wine selection and they were out of several of the items on the menu. Best stromboli I have EVER had! The large is enough to feed a horse, but we always get it and take the rest home. Salads are good, cheesesticks are good, breadsticks are good, service is good. The only negatives I can think of is it takes a while to get the stromboli (well worth it though), and the hotesses are about 14 years old and usually have no clue what they're doing. We always goto the Westerville location, but had some friends staying close to campus for medical treatments. I called the day before because we were going to have a large group. The person answering the phone said the manager would have to call me back because she wasn't sure if they were going to be open to the public the night we needed. The owner called back said they had a fund raiser the night we wanted to go and were expecting 60-80 people and weren't sure if it was going to be on their covered patio or not due to weather. He assured me he would call me the next day once he'd figured everything out. I'm still waiting. That was 2 weeks ago. We went somewhere else and dropped a couple hundred dollars with our group. I'll stick to Westerville from now on, pretty obvious the owner didn't care enough to callback. read more

Amazing service and super customer attentiveness. We had a last minute group of 60 and the owner, David, was personally involved to assure our dinner was perfect. Servers were attentive and so nice. Food was soooo good. Strombolis, pasta, salads, etc. They made special arrangements for us to make it a memorable night. The outdoor patio was perfect for us...we will be back for more family and group events soon. Great family Italian neighborhood place. Had to wait about 20 minutes to even be greeted by our waitress and receive water. I ordered the veggie Stromboli without olives and artichokes, and when the Stromboli came out there were both black and green olives. A lot of both. When the check came, there was an extra 99 cent charge for green olives. I told the waitress and she said she would take it off, then swiped my card without changing the total. I am so confused at the to go service here... i ordered my food at 730pm and the to go guy said 20 mins.. arrived at 8 and he said 10 more mins on my stromboli, which is no problem. Then i go back in after 10 mins, grab my food and go home (which is a two minute drive)... i get home and my stromboli is cold -_- so disappointed... pretty much same thing happened xouple months ago.. called and never heard anything back. The BF & I went in on Friday night hoping for some dinner. We arrived to find a packed room, a 30-40 minute wait, and no place to stand while waiting. If we had been given pagers or something, we absolutely would have stayed & would have just shopped around on Lane. If we hadn't had a Groupon though, we probably would not have returned. We returned an hour later to find the restaurant substantially more clear. We were seated after about 5 minutes & sat down with our menus. We found ourselves wondering what "deluxe" meant under the pizza options. We asked our waitress & learned that a deluxe pizza is one with EIGHT or more toppings, but really 3 or more since that was more economically feasible. Perhaps taking the meaning of "deluxe" too seriously, the BF ordered a pizza with 6 toppings. I stuck with the lasagna. The lasagna reminded me a lot of a dish my great aunt used to make. However, it was too cheesy. I couldn't even see the lasagna under all the cheese. The bread on the side was delicious though. Good, but not great. Seems more like a restaurant for families with young kids or those over the age of 60, not really a good place for a date. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times before this evening when I decided to order the Godfather sub. What an enormous disappointment! This sub is not deserving of its name. There wasn!t even 1 ounce of meat on it....for $8.99!! You can find bigger and better subs at Grinders or Penn Station for less. I called the manager shortly after arriving home and seeing the sandwich and was told by some millennial that he was helping in the kitchen. I stressed that I wanted a call back ASAP. I never even got a call back from the manager. This is terrible terrible terrible customer service. If they don't care, then I don't care to spend my money there. A Groupon staple so I finally made my way here. $20 for a large Stromboli without the Groupon would have irritated me but I had a groupon so I can't complain to much about price. Their Italian French Fried were delicious and helped fill the stomach during the 40 minute wait for the Stromboli. They clearly warn the customer on the menu that it will take awhile for quality so i have no issue with 40 minutes for a Stromboli. Their Stromboli was a little overcooked for my taste as the dough is crispy and doesn't have any chewiness to it. It was good but not quite my style of stromboli. The large is good for 3 people and works with an appetizer if you have 4 people. We had enough for supper that night. We went at lunch so we had no wait as I hear the evening can be packed. The service was excellent. I would return with a discount on the price but I wouldn't go here if I had to pay the whole price. We went for the Stromboli and it was darn good. The bored high school age hostess took us to our table in the bucca di beppo/applebees decorated restaurant. It was nicer than I expected, but a little corny. Trivia Pursuit cards were there for our brain teasing pleasure. Bonus. They have a full bar and about 5 beers on tap. Service was friendly and just attentive enough. We ordered the 'mozzarella and marinara" described as fresh mozz cubes and pan fried, we found it to be standard cheese sticks, properly deep fried with a boring bland sauce. Wedding soup was enjoyed by our friend who mentioned the pastina was well beyond al dente, but hey, it's soup. Stromboli was excellent. Well stuffed and rolled, buttery and crispy outside, tender inside. It comes in 3 flavors. I'm not sure you can customize them although the menu mentions they're made to order and to allow 20 minutes for them. It came with more bland, blah sauce, that I recommend avoiding since it ruins the great taste of the Stromboli. Our friend added salt, parm, and red pepper to his sauce, but I'm not sure it helped all that much. I had the meatball sub with parm fries, both really good. The tender flavorful meatballs and banana peppers over shadowed their bland as paste tomato sauce. The bread was toasted and pressed. The fries were fried perfect and tasted great with lots of parm. Ketchup was a welcomed flavor from their marinara. I can't see myself frequenting this place, but if you crave Stromboli, you must try theirs. Just get it to go so you can warm up a jar of proper marinara at home. read more

Great stromboli! Stopped in for an early supper after hearing my friend rave about it for the past year. It was pretty slow at 4:30, so the service was great! I was a little surprised by the "Italian fries" which are just deep fried breadsticks. I was expecting something like funnel cake fries, but man they give you a huge plate of deep fried breadsticks! Great stuff and the marinara is really good too. The Stromboli is pretty good sized for the price and was awesome. After maxing out my 5 ingredients that come with it I was a little concerned about it being over run, but they obviously know what they're doing! I loved how they cut it and brushed it with butter too! Not sure how often I'll be in this area, but I would love to come back! read more

LOVE the strombolis, the crust is thick and crunchy, be sure to ask for extra dipping sauce. For some reason, you get one cup of marinara regardless if you order a S, M, or LG stromboli. Huh? The pizzas are not great. The salads are fresh and the patio is a good size for a UA hangout. The dining room is always packed and there is no room for families with kids to wait 30 minutes for a table. I recommend either carryout from the separate entrance or the patio. read more

Cute Italian restaurant snuggled into the Upper Arlington shops area off Lane. The patio looked great, but it was too chilly to sit there when I visited. Overall very relaxed atmosphere. Our review is regarding 'take-out' service. This is the 2nd time we have ordered 'pick-up.' I didn't write a review the first time, but this is the 2nd time we have experienced the same problem. YESTERDAY, we ordered an on-line pick-up for 3:00 TODAY, Jan. 18. (Last time we ordered same day pickup.) We arrived @ 2:50 today. When I arrived the lady said it wouldn't be very long as they were 'working on it.' She offered to bring it to the car. While in the pickup area, I noticed several items that seemed ready to be picked up. After 2 other customers arriving and leaving with their order, I returned to the counter at 3:10 p.m. The lady (who said she would bring it out) was on her cell phone and then went to the other side of the restaurant. A gentleman (whom I saw on arrival) asked me again if I 'wanted to order.' I stated I had been there @ 2:50 for a 3:00 pickup. Then he asked (again) if I needed to pay? I told him I had already paid and was just going to wait. (as the lady had not reappeared) The server was trying his best to get my order together. We had 4 salads he had just started working on and put them in the bag. THEN he took the items that were on the shelf (which had been there earlier) and put them in a bag. He said they were really busy and short of help. We ordered the spaghetti, ziti, and ravioli. (When we paid online we included 18% tip.) The lady server never did return. I was glad I returned to check on our order. I left with the order @3:25. Needless to say, the main dishes were cold when we began eating 15 minutes later. I have NO idea how long they were sitting there on the shelf just waiting to be placed in a bag. Next time, I will just WAIT at the counter for my order. read more

We went there tonight for dinner, it was a great Italian experience. The food was better than I expected it to be. We tried the Italian fries and spinach dip since it was happy hour and both were great. I'm very picky with my spinach dip and I was beyond pleased. Customer service was top notch. We went with our very active two year old and our waitress went above and beyond to make sure she was entertained. She bought markers and coloring sheets to the table which was amazing! I've only gotten carry out, but the space seems ok - nice patio. Pizza is better than average, but not spectacular. Stromboli is good, but too much of niche product for me to actively seek out. I don't understand why people are so in love with this place. I've been to both locations, and they're both horrible. First, it took them 45 minutes to seat us, then once we were seated, our server didn't take our drink order until 20 minutes later. We were ready to order immediately, and she told us to hold on and would take our order once she brought our drinks. All we ordered was a stromboli to split between the two of us. She brought out the wrong order, and when the right order came, it was still bland. Nothing about this place sets it apart from other "pizza/pub" joints. Carsonies has always had great food and great service. Tonight was not the normal we are used to. Orders were wrong, over 30 minutes to get our salads, soup was another 15 minutes. Pizza takes 30-40 minutes as it states on the menu but its bad when your pizzas and Stromboli comes out and you have to wait another 15 minutes only to receive cold pasta. 8 people in our party tonight and most said they won't come back. This review is on Carsonie's pizza. I feel sort of bad giving it 3 stars, because it seems like a nice family place, but as a review of my food to my preference: their pizza was WAYYY too cheesy. Like crazy cheese overload. Some people may prefer this, and if you do, I'm sure you will love Carsonie's. But me personally, I'm not a fan of too much cheese on my pizza. We got regular crust..not sure if they do a thin crust here. I am also giving it 3 stars on the fact that I would go here again if somebody wanted to go, but I would for sure try something else on their menu. Keep in mind they do have a diverse menu here of Italian food. I can't say I would ever suggest it, but I would go if other wanted to. read more

Great place for a Sunday night beer on the patio. Absolutely no wait at about 7pm and very prompt service. BF and I chose to stick with some of their specialties and I'm so glad we did. After having a little too much fun the night before greasy Italian food is just what I needed. The Italian Fries were our appetizer-imagine a donut bread stick sprinkled with fresh Parmesan with very good marinara for dipping. Yum! For dinner we split the "Original Stromboli. Packed with well seasoned sausage, large pepperonis and gooey mozzarella rolled in a perfectly crispy dough and served with a side of the same marinara it was exactly what I was hoping for. I usually come here to meet friends after work and we like it so much we keep coming back. It is exactly the type of place UA has needed for a long time. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable and add to the experience. Lately I've been getting the flat bread pizza which it doesn't seem to promote but I like it best. Salads are great too. On nice weather days, the patio is a bonus. If you're in UA and hungry, I'd recommend it. read more
