Absolutely delicious. Ordered the Zuppa de Pesce and it was chock full of the freshest mussels I've tasted, plus shrimp, clams and calamari. My husband ordered the Sausage and Peppers and loved it. Our waitress, Erica, was attentive and knew the menu inside and out. Fun and funky little old house out by the beach. It was cold the night we went, but will try the outdoor dining next time. Vilano Beach is worth a detour to see the old 50s style main street and eat at this hidden gem of a restaurant. One word of warning: they only take cash and debit cards, so don't rely on your credit card here. read more

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. They had a mussel and clam pasta with a spicy red sauce and it was amazing. Tons of mussels and a decent amount of clams as well. The sauce was incredible. I also had the rice balls which were incredible and the red sauce was also delicious. The deserts. I don't even know where to begin but they were incredible. The rum bread pudding was to die for. if I ever have the opportunity to be back I will no questions asked. 10/10 would recommend read more

Just went here for the first time and we WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN. We are locals and are so excited that we found this gem. Delicious food, great service, and it's an adorable little place. It feels like being in someone's home and the owners at so sweet. I want to try everything on the menu. Run as fast as you can away from this restaurant that is over priced, serves bland, greasy food, topped off with such a poor and sloppy presentation We started out with Scungille appitizer for market price. Shocked when we got the bill indicating 16.95 and you received 5 small pieces mollusk that sat in a bowl of oil and raw chipped garlic. Absolutely tasteless and overpriced. Same for the escarol and beans priced at12.95, served in a banana boat, also tasteless. My side of overcooked veggies, 4.95 (broccoli, onions, red peppers, zucchini, mushrooms) sat in oil sludge, served in a ramakin appropriate for salad dressing had 2 large broccoli stumps that were uneatable. As the waitress said, nothing goes to waste in the kitchen. YIKES. I had the waitress box up 1/2 of my veggie and escarole. My cesar salad for 12.95 was about 1 cup of dried out romaine with rust on the base of the leaf, 1/2 a cup of that was base stumps from the head and very little leaf. I can buy 3 heads of organic romaine at Walmart for 2.98. The salad was served in a soup bowl. The anchovies promised on the menu were no where to be found. The side of prawns I ordered, an additional 6.95 for 4 brings the total cost of my entree to 18.90 for a side salad portion. Needless to say, I went home hungary and stopped ordering any more food. My husband had the veal parm, 24.95 which was mostly breading, the veal was paper thin, nowhere insight. The side of cappellini was over cooked, cold and the sauce tasteless. The size of the veal looked huge, served on a too small plate, slopped the sauce on top that dripped off the edge of the plate. My husband ordered a cappuccio (they had to run to the store to get the milk) which was the only item that was tastey. Tiramisu 7.95 was different, made with a sweet port wine, the small piece was pre-cut, wrapped in plastic and put in a showcase. Service was attentive, but food coming out of the kitchen was slow. The owners walked up and down the isles when they should have been in the kitchen expediting the food so it was hot and fresh, cleaning the plates for a nice presentation, and looking a lack of portion size. They sat in their chairs at the entrance and had a dog they were petting. And they were setting tables, touching linens and silverware. Shocking bill 114.59!! The kicker, we paid by debit card, there is no 10% or 15% tip button, they start out with 18% YIKES . We will never come back. Pictures of the interior on Yelp and website are from an old restaurant. If you are looking for fresh, quality food, Bistro 206 serves modern light Italian dishes at reasonable prices and fair portions. I had to click one star in order for this review to post. read more

I couldn't understand how this place had so many reviews while I was eating my frozen-in The- middle lasagna, until the owners came around with cards asking for us to write reviews online! We were informed the food had taken so long (1 1/2 hours,) because it's made fresh but that was an apparent lie after the center was still frozen. And after the long wait we went home to have serious stomach issues, as many others had warned about!!! Not worth it!!!!! read more

Service was great, but the food was just okay. I don't think that the prices were justified based on the taste and quality of food. The atmosphere is very "homey" and everyone seemed pleasant. Just had lunch at this restaurant in its new location in Vilano (formerly located in Crescent Beach). I was with an Italian-American friend who takes great pride in his own Italian cooking (learned from his Italian-born mother) who on tasting the eggplant parm & meatball parm stated that it was some of the best he had ever tasted. Yes, it does take time to get your food but, as you are forewarned by a statement on the menu, this is due to the care of the preparation of each dish. It was also a pleasure talking with one of the owner's as she shared her love of cooking and how she prepares some dishes I was not acquainted with. This cute little Italian restaurant is located right past Publix on Vilano Beach, and is worth your time stopping in and eating at! Whenever my mom is in town I make sure to make a stop here for dinner. I usually like to get the penne ala vodka, but they are kind enough to switch the pasta to tortellini because I like cheese! My mom usually gets the eggplant parm and both of these dishes are true Italian cuisine. You can immediately tell that this is an authentic Italian place due to the decor of the restaurant when you walk up to the building and go inside. Although the food may take a little while to cook, it's worth the wait. Good things take time. Each dinner comes with a salad and a choice of the soup of the day. They also bring you out fresh bread with a sweet butter and an eggplant spread which is absolutely amazing. I would rate this restaurant an 8 out of 10 on the rating scale. The food is steaming hot when it arrives, and is served in a large portion. (I always need a take home box). Although the menu is a tad pricey, it's worth it for the quality of this food. The service is fair, pretty average, but what really ties the place together in it's uniqueness and authenticity of the decor. You really feel like you're in the home of a true Italian. I always love true Italian food since I'm Italian myself, so this restaurant is one of my favorites here because of that. read more

If you are Italian or live in an Italian community do not even think of going here. Let's start with the service. Our waitress was fine but the food took entirely too long, and water was requested twice before getting it. Also the busboy started clearing when half the people at the table were still eating. I am assuming the kitchen is very small and there must be only one or two cooks since the food took over an hour to arrive at the table. I don't mind waiting for great food but waiting for a mediocre meal that is not inexpensive is unacceptable. There were eight people in our party for dinner so I was able to sample quite a few dishes. Some dishes were treated with a very heavy hand. The chicken parm was a mass of overdone mozzarella and sauce covering a thick, poorly fried chicken breast. The veal sorrentino was almost identical in treatment. It lacked balance and the veal was lost in a mass of cheese, sauce and breading. Chicken Marsala was served in a brown sauce that was more gravy than Marsala sauce. Again the heavy hand won. Conversely, shrimp scampi was lacking flavor and seasoning. I realize scampi has many variations, but this was a bland mess served in what was essentially a pool of oil. Garlic, butter, herbs, seasoning, salt were no where to be found. Zuppe de peche was more like zuppe de linguine with a few mussels. The pasta ala vodka was good, but for 16$ I would expect a bit more than penne and vodka sauce. All entrees were served with soup or salad and a side of pasta. Tonight's chicken rice soup was a few steps below Progresso, another exercise in bland and unexciting. The salad was mostly lettuce and the only choice of dressing was the house oil and vinegar but should've been called the house vinegar and oil due to it's lack of oil. The side of pasta was pasta with some red sauce. After the dining experience we wisely skipped dessert. Obviously I do not recommend going to this restaurant if you want a good Italian meal. The dishes, for the most part, lacked balance, imagination, technique, ingredients, and originality. One of the 14-year-olds in our party remarked "this is not as good as Olive Garden" and unfortunately I have to agree with her. read more
