Don't walk past this place! The atmosphere inside was way different than expected - eclectic, exciting, and very clean. Our waitress was a gem. The food was delicious - I had the Sicilian meat sauce which was really hearty and seasoned nicely. All of the seafood my family had looked really fresh and got rave reviews. The cappuccinos were perfect! We didn't love the citrus flavor in our cannolis at the end, but that's just a personal preference, the cream and shells were great. Went for dinner prior to renting out entire restaurant for an event. Unique and intimate place, kind owners, family recipes. Food was excellent, service very attentive. Loved the chicken Marsala, huge meatballs, and everything else we have had there. This is a local spot and feels like you are in a family kitchen. I'd been here before a million years ago and remember having to wait in line forever to be seated. A lot has changed in Vilano since then... There was no wait at all and very few people in the restaurant. We wanted to try a few different things and our server, Carrie, was patient with us. We got one soup and one Caesar salad. Not we're good. The soup had sort of a sweet taste to it that I couldn't really place. I decided on the lasagna which was very traditional but there wasn't anything really special about it, I was hoping the sauce would be better. We did get nice warm bread, but our refill never came. The lasagna was fine. Nothing amazing. My friend got the sausage dish that was drowned in sauce. It was also oddly sweet. We had way more food than we needed so the portions are huge. The tiramisu was the star of the show. My friend loved it so much that she took another piece to go. That's high praise! It's a great lil place for a casual dinner in the area. Adorable, cozy little place. Lots of locals. In an off the beaten path at the end of a strip mall. They used to be in a different location in the Vilano Beach area. The food here is delicious! Like your Nonna is in the kitchen making you all your favorite dishes. Service is professional and friendly. We had veal parmigiana and veal piccata. Both dishes were on point. Veal pounded thin and extremely tender. Soup & salad tastes homemade. The bread was hot and crispy and accompanied by an outstanding caponata. Homemade tiramisu was yummy. This will be our go-to spot for Italian whenever we are visiting St. Augustine. read more

We arrived for dinner right at five this evening and were seated promptly. The server was super attentive but did stop by less frequently as she got busier and busier. However, we were well taken care of and never empty. We had the mushroom app and it was delicious. The salads were great, but I'm sure the soups are good, too. I had the lasagna, and it was definitely enough for two meals. Husband had the shrimp scampi, and it was a little smaller portion, he could've finished it in one sitting no problem. We wish we would've skipped the dessert. The tiramisu wasn't the best I've ever eaten, and the chocolate cake seemed stale. Overall, the food was delicious, and the server was sweet and knowledgeable. By six o'clock, the place was packed and people were standing outside, so get there early to avoid the wait. We just went there for dessert, and tried three between the two of us. A coconut cream cake special was good enough to get again, at least the bites with frosting. I've never been a big tiramisu fan, and this one didn't change my mind, but it was pleasant. My companion is a fan of the one at Publix, and said theirs is better. Neither of us liked the pistachio gelato. The waiter wasn't bad, but didn't manage to make the meal as pleasant as it could have been. Since I moved to St. Augustine in 2020 coming from New Jersey, and being Italian decent I was looking for an Italian restaurant close by. Little did I realize that I was only 1/4 mile away. I started going there for lunch and dinner pretty often. I became friends with the owners and finally met the chef. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but I can't justify returning. Let me start by at least complimenting them on the eggplant tapenade served with the bread when we sat down. It was delicious. Unfortunately, that's where it all ended. The fettuccini Alfredo that my friend had as a side (her flounder came with a side of pasta) was dry and tasteless. We would have been able to overlook that if not for the $9.95 up charge for it. The waitress asked what she wanted for a side and failed to mention the up charge. A few dollars would have been acceptable (as pasta was a choice, it was the "Alfredo" option, which cost extra). $10 for a few tablespoons of creamy white sauce is highway robbery. My angel hair pasta with garlic & EVOO was drowning in oil and overcooked garlic. The pasta didn't have a fresh made taste or texture that it should have for prices like that. $55+ no drinks, no dessert, & nothing fancy. read more

What a fantastic find. A small family run place that's like sitting in your grandmother's house and being served dinner right from her kitchen. The salad was fresh and bread with caponata was the perfect start. The broccoli rabe with pasta and sausage was excellent. First time I had it with a bit of red sauce and it worked well. Finished off with the ricotta cheesecake and it was just like my grandmother made. All desserts are made in-house. Will definitely go back with the kids for a family dinner at grandma's. read more

This place was charming and unique. The minute you walk in you felt so at home. Jo jo was our server and she was fantastic. She told us the specials and gave us plenty of time to decide. We had the linguini with white clam sauce, veal Marsala, which wasn't on the menu but they made for us, and the special which was mussels and clams fra Diavlo. First of all this place is a house with old decor and looks dirty, the waiters black uniform was dirty, they had on the table a liquid candle that the smell makes you gag. The prices for a lasagna 17.95 and for a chicken parm 20.00 dollar ridiculous, the food is not gourmet for the price. Beware you need you're debit card or cash only no credit cards. So Sad to write a bad review... It started off great, the eggplant tempenade was amazing on delicious warm bread... Then... the baked clams were almost all bread crumbs and very dry... The rice balls should have been called mozzarella balls... Very little rice and only a couple of peas..: The pasta fagiole tasted like minestrone... Then came the Shrimp Scampi... The pasta was over cooked and the garlic was burnt tasting and unfortunately the Shrimp was SO overdone! I never chewed shrimp so long before ever! 3 small cannolis that were overwhelmed by the orange zest... Also, Definitely overpriced for what we ate... The only good part was the nice waiter with a bald head who did a good job...
