Beans, potatoes, chorizo burrito

Service was good Chilaquiles were okay. The sauce is more like a tomato sauce needs a little more flavor/ spice. The pozole was really good. The mimosas were hibiscus, mango, and peach yummy. Plenty of parking. It used to be Coco's.

Chilaquiles with entraña special.

I keep going back. But this egg, asada (entrana) and chilaquiles à la poblano sauce were a bit too expensive. $35!??? Too much if you ask me. For $10 less or more - although that's still TOO expensive- I can get their regular chilaquiles with add on eggs and add on asada. But either way, these breakfast items were so good and flavorful! I'm satisfied and will keep coming back, albeit a bit more cognizant of the fact that their "specials" don't necessarily mean "cheaper than the usual." I understand if you can't afford it "stay home." But for a breakfast date after a date night without kids, splurging on this place is a must. Besides, once we're empty nesters, I'm sure I'll take advantage of their beautiful bar cove (they got mango cart on tap with chamoy!)

First time at this location but I've been to the other one several times. The parking is spacious and the restaurant itself seems larger but it doesnt have the same vibe with the high ceilings, sparse decoration. and lack of patio seating. But staff was still friendly and attentive when checking-in and as we were eating. We shared a mimosa flight. I could have sworn you were able to choose 4 flavors before but this time only 3 options offered. It wasnt featured on the menu like it was before. Regardless, got the pomegranate, pineapple, and strawberry. I recommend the pomegranate and strawberry. To eat, we ordered the waffle benedict, trio sopes, and the corned beef hash. The mixed of sweet and savory is always enjoyable with the benedict hash. Personally, I enjoy it when the hollandaise sauce is more lemony but I dont mind theirs. Their home fries used to have more seasoning on them so it wasnt as appealing this time. Sopes were good too, just needed to ask for some salsa to go with it. Its a decent breakfast spot, leaning toward Mexican cuisine.

We decided to have dinner here tonight. They provided us with a basket of tortilla chips with a up of really good bean dip. We shared the street corn, which was excellent, Then the chicken taquitos which were really good. The cheeseburger was good except for the wilted lettuce and the bun which was toasted too much. Our waiter was Jose, and he did a terrific job!

I visited Casa Canela and tried the Mango Habanero Chilaquiles. The flavor was great, but I personally prefer when chilaquiles are made with fresh-fried chips rather than standard tortilla chips. The service overall was very good. The hostess had a pretty dry personality, but my waitress made up for it with her kindness and attentiveness. Clean place, good food, and solid service. I'd definitely give them another try if I'm in the area.

Had a later breakfast while traveling. This place was recommended we had not been here. It was really good. A good menu even had traditional choices. Wait staff was friendly. Good food a price variety and it was clean and nicely decorated. Good choice to stop in for a tasty meal.

Street Tacos

Came here twice. First time I ordered the burrito, no beans, and I enjoyed it very much! Second time I ordered the street tacos... that was a mistake. Did not taste fresh and it generally was a big let down. The place is clean and the staff is nice. However the staff come by so often to check on the table that it gets annoying quick. I would definitely come back for the burrito!

Ooops!!!! before I knew it the burrito was gone

Wow! Best breakfast burrito I have ever tasted! The service was fast and the lady behind the counter was nice. My food was to go but from the waiting area I could see people were enjoying their food! The only part I didn't was that my burrito was cut in half, caused me to pause as I reached for the other half!

Pipian de puerco

I was excited to try the food here since about a month ago being telling my husband and we were finally able to visit this past Sunday 4/19 like around 3:15pm the place is very large and spacious looks very clean, our waiter not so much not attentive at all just basic waiter skill not really friendly, besides that my biggest disappointment was the food honestly my expectations were higher when I saw the menu, but my pork pipian was very bland and the sauce you can tell it was canned sauce no seasoning no flavor and the pork it's a piece of chuleta de puerco nothing like an authentic real pipian recipe, my husband red chilaquiles were also disappointing tomato sauce canned with no spice at all to be chilaquiles and excessive cheese the chips they are bagged chips very hard and staled. Gave it it tried.

His the server that has bad attitude

Came to casa canela on Monday 6/8/26 around 11:45am for the first time let me tell you it's a nice restaurant the decor is beautiful the hostess was really nice we got seated right away a few min later a male server with a blue shirt came to take our drink order not friendly at all it seem he was there just for the tips not the guest experience after we all got out drinks a few min later he took our food order. I got the crepe combo with eggs and home potatoes and a round sausage the eggs and the potatoes where good but please don't order the crepes there not fresh at all they taste pre made and dry from the ends of the crepes and they add a lots of eggs you could taste the egg a lot and the fridge taste nasty that's terrible ok then the server never came to check on us until I had to flag him over he just past and past never stop to see if everything was ok with our food or drinks nothing we had to get help I believe the owner a beautiful women she was wearing a red shirt she was nice she brought us more coffee and pick up some empty plates but the server has attitude please if you come on Mondays and get this server ask for another server or your experience will be bad but we knew why because with parties of 6 or more they add the 18% tip automatically so that's the reasons why they don't care because they know they will still get there tip no matter what that sucks because I'm sure there's other customers that go thru this this message is for the owner about the tips please talk to your servers that they need to provide good service even if the tip is included because this will affect in the long run your business or remove that option I always tip 20% to 25% percent tip depending on the service but in this case with this server nope his bad with his serving skills and customer service has and attitude he needs retraining with his attitude issues and speed of service if I ever go back I will recommend getting serve by another server not him he represents casa canela really bad

Torta De Lomo
Edlyn C.

After a long drive we made a stop for some brunch. The location had plenty or parking up front. Upon walking in you noticed how nice and neat everything looks. We sat down and ordered some cafe de olla and browns the menu. Everything looked delicious but couldn't beat a traditional torta de lomo. Very delicious. My friend got some chilaquiles and she also enjoyed. This place felt cozy and homey. Service was fast and enjoyable. Definitely recommend.

Chicken Taquitos
Jessica C.

I ordered the chicken taquitos for take-out and the presentation was very nice and colorful. It had cabbage, cotija cheese, tomatoes, and chipotle sauce on top. The chicken had a smoky flavor which was different but the chipotle sauce complimented it very well. I enjoyed the taquitos and would get them again.

In our search for great breakfast spots in Santa Clarita, we were eager to try Casa Canela after many recommendations in local groups on Facebook. Everything was FANTASTIC. From the atmosphere (very clean and inviting) to the service(Anahi was amazing), to the food(YUM), overall a great experience. The food was so good. Everything tasted homemade, and fresh. The jam for the toast was so good we ended up eating it with the pancakes. The poblano sauce was heavenly, I could pour that on anything and devour it. Highly recommend this place to anyone trying to decide, just go...I promise you won't be disappointed. Sorry for the half eaten food pics, it was at about this point I kept shimmying in my chair, I knew I had to write a review so I quickly snapped some photos before it was all gone!

We all ended up ordering chilaquiles--one plate with green sauce and the other two with red sauce--and got our eggs over easy. Let me just say: these were hands down some of the best chilaquiles we've had in the area. The flavor, texture, and portion sizes were all top notch. I also loved that they have an open salsa bar along with complimentary chips for every order. Little touches like that really make the experience even better. There's also plenty of seating inside, and they have a restroom located in the back, which is always convenient when dining with kids. For appetizers we ordered the trio dip and taquitos. For entrees, we ordered the al pastor street tacos, and Enchiladas Sabor. For dessert we ordered the nutella filled churros. I believe our bill was around $135. Pros: everything came out so quickly! Drinks were LARGE. Timing of the food: Drinks were out in five minutes, appetizers in ten mins of ordering, and entrees in fifteen minutes of ordering. The service was also great. Our waiter came in and checked on us, but wasn't overbearing. The quality of the food was also great. I kept saying everything felt very elevated and a great place to go for a nice dinner. I did not do any research before coming here. This was a place that my partner chose, so the two comments that I made (which I later found out was also commonly noted on Yelp) was that the Chips & Salsa were not free, and that my enchiladas did not come with rice and beans. Typically, when I go out for Mexican food, there are certain things I look forward to, so I was a little thrown off that they weren't provided here. The trio dip was a great option because it did have a bean dip as well as salsa, but it was just a bummer that it was an extra charge. All the while, songs from Luis Miguel's catalogue were playing in the background. Everything that was ordered was presented with delicate precision.
