I wanted to give this place a chance since its really popular on social media. I ordered an Iced Banana Matcha. I love matcha and I can say this is the WORST matcha I've ever tried. I thought since its a small business they would make it fresh to order. But they do not. When i paid I went and sit down and saw the baristas taking a giant pitcher. The Banana has a STRONG artificial flavor and the after taste of the matcha combined with the banana its nasty. I also order two empanadas which were kinda pricey for 5 dllrs they ain't worth it. They lack of flavor and they were too small. The matcha is pricey as well for the quality i do not recommend it. I paid 8 dllrs and like i've said it the matcha was really disgusting. I had really high hopes for this place but i came to the conclusion is just over rated. I won't be coming back. The staff is not friendly, if you ask them something they seem like not wanting to help. The ambiance is cute, and bright. Parking for me was not an issue. I parked a block away and walked which was not a problem for me. Overall i do not recommend this coffee shop there are better coffee shops in chula vista with better quality matcha and better food. read more

I'm definitely gonna be the odd one in the bunch because I extremely disagree that this is Eastlake's best coffee shop. But let me explain why. This coffee shop is undeniably beautiful. The aesthetic and vibe are its biggest draw, making it a nice place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, have a meeting, do homework, book club meets and etc. However, the coffee itself isn't anything special, and the service leaves something to be desired. Their mobile ordering app is also a bit confusing, since placing an order ahead doesn't save you any time because you still have to walk in and notify the barista before they even start on it, which makes the feature feel unnecessary. (This is what I was told after ordering online and getting notified that my order was ready but it actually wasn't.) Overall, what makes this spot "good" is mainly the aesthetic and convenient location. But if you're looking for truly wholesome, flavorful coffee, I'd recommend heading over to Third Ave in Chula Vista where you'll find delicious, homemade coffee that feels much more worth it. The atmosphere might be "less" appealing and maybe not much space but at least you will make your $$ worth. read more

Personally my favorite matcha place in San Diego! Their food is amazing -- the beef empanada is my go to. They have the best banana matcha from what I've tried. Super big and a great place to do homework or just socialize. read more

This local shop is nicely nestled in the middle of a park, and we were glad we stumbled upon it when walking our dog! The coffee is decent and their drinks are pretty consistent. We have tried all their seasonal drinks since spring. Definitely recommend stopping by for coffee if you're in the area! There's parking on the street and two parking lots next to the park. This is a really cute little coffee spot right in the middle of some new and upcoming developments. When we went there was a long line probably due in part to the convenience of the location. I just got an iced vanilla latte and their coffee is great quality. Their pastries looked good as well, although I didn't get a chance to try on this visits service was friendly. This place has potential. I didn't know that this little coffee "shop" (and what I mean by coffee shop is a couple of people working out of a pod lol) even existed in millenia! Their menu is somewhat limited but meets all your coffee needs (traditional, lattes, cold brews, and teas). I ordered a cold brew with a cold foam (I think it was salted caramel but can't remember). The cold brew consistency could definitely use some work as the appearance of it was a little murky (also due to the foam but not as clean and crisp as a traditional cold brew looks like). I also could barely distinguish the cold foam flavor. 3/5 stars for me. Friendly staff though. read more

Delicious! I ordered from their winter menu. I ordered a vanilla bourbon latte and a pop tart pastry. The vanilla bourbon latte was delicious where it was the perfect amount of ice, coffee, sweetness, and milkyness. I ordered mine with almond milk and it still felt creamy and not too sweet. I came here on a Tuesday early morning around 9 AM. My drink was made very quickly and there were two other customers that ordered before me, and I just ordered and less than five minutes later my drink was ready. The staff was very friendly, especially the woman at the register who I told it was my first time, and she was immediately very helpful telling me about their specials and which drinks were popular. The pastry was also very delicious, it tasted fresh even when it wasn't warmed up I still enjoyed it. It was flaky and crispy and not too sweet either! It is located at the park with plenty of seating, including tables, chairs, benches, and only street parking. Definitely would come back and try their Matcha. I go here maybe once a week. It's nice that it's in the middle of a residential neighborhood and there are usually a lot of people there. Atmosphere although decent is more like an IKEA showroom with flimsy Formica tables and chairs and sterile walls. I've sat in a few chairs that had the screws literally coming off. Coffee is mid. Nothing special. I usually have coffee grounds in my cup the last few sips. Temperature usually lukewarm. I learned to always ask for "extra hot." Service is spotty. Sometimes you get someone nice and interactive but usually I get someone who genuinely doesn't care what you want but they have to ask. No smile. No thank you. It's a little over-priced as well. My regular pumpkin spice latte with almond milk runs about $7. Negatives are starting to out way the positives. Also their pastry case is usually empty and what they do have is nothing special. Their only competition is Starbucks but they recently remodeled their lobby to limit the number of seating indoors so they pretty much are the only ones in that immediate area that Can accommodate a lot of people. I'd probably overlook a lot of things if all of the employees welcomed the customers and smiled and said thank you instead of looking like they are doing you a favor. That would go a long way. But that might be a lot to ask lol read more

I drove over an hour from Oceanside specifically for their strawberry matcha. When I ordered, the cashier told me they were out, disappointing but understandable. I ordered something else. Minutes later, I watched someone else get a strawberry matcha. When I asked, they admitted they had "some left" but refused to serve me one because they had saved it for a friend. They also serve donuts, tarts, muffins and scones. There are some outdoor seatings so you can choose to sit down and enjoy your coffee. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The east side of Chula Vista does not really have a coffee shop other than Starbucks so it is nice to have a solid new coffee shop in this area. read more

I grew up in Otay and while growing up we only got chain coffee shops. Although we briefly had a local shop that eventually closed down back in the day, it's long over due to have a local shop that's not big corp. Casa de Otay was such a nice surprise. I've been stopping by before starting my workday whenever I'm in town to visit my family for the past year. Their staff is always so friendly and their lattes are always so yummy. I love to promote unique coffee shops and put my coffee adventures on Instagram, so when I stumbled upon this place on Yelp and saw the unique barista art on top of a couple of the coffees, I excitedly grabbed my car keys and took the 40 minute drive to Casa De Otay. I parked my Jeep and hurriedly walked to the shop, ordered the Mexican Mocha and patiently waited with my camera ready to capture the coffee art to post. After a few minutes, my coffee was ready and I excitedly picked it up, only to look down and be disappointed at the absolute "nothing" that was on my coffee foam! Not a heart, not a leaf and definitely not a face or cute design... The coffee itself was good, but not enough to set it apart from other good coffee shops. The complicated art would have really made it top tier! The barista to took my order ( UCSD student) was really warm and welcoming, the one who made my coffee was not welcoming at all.
